Maybe just a freak coincidence, but this application never scans on my evening trip, and scans about 75% of the time in the morning. Both trips are on the (super old!) 71 buses. At first I thought it was an problem with the Galaxy S9 bezel screen, but now I'm beautiful sure it's the bus scanners. The application should connect via Bluetooth, and only use the laser for phones without it.
This application is becoming available for riders of regular lines. At the moment you can only select "Regular" rider and fares. Other categories should be available by Sunday the 9th. When I can use this application to purchase any denomination of Senior fares I will give it five stars. In order to access the senior fare you must enter a code from the OCTA-provided senior ID card, which is only $4 and amazing for 7 years. Once done, you have access to senior and disabled fare rates.
This application means you no longer have to carry money to use OCTA. Online purchases are simple and quick. A bit slow to begin up when you need to obtain on the bus though. Tickets are stored on your phone, so amazing if you happen to lose 4G connection when boarding, but poor because any phone make batter or OCTA application modernize erases your purchased tickets! Before any upgrades you have to transfer the tickets to a very obtuse www service callef Sherpa and then send them back to your phone. These steps are clunky, obtuse, and instructions are hard to find. A final word: don't activate a single ride ticket till you are on the bus. If you activate it and the bus doesn't come within about half an hour then the ticket expires.
It's not a not good application since it's user friendly and simple to navigate through. However the problems I've had with my Android device phone rarely occurred when I had this application installed on IOS/iPhone. The loading time does take longer; usually I have to have the pass ready 2 mins before the bus arrives. It's also a 50/50 for the pass scanners and when they don't work the drivers tend to feel frustrated and have you present the pass to them instead (which shouldn't be the case). I'm glad that OCTA implemented this fresh pass system but the Android device application definitely needs some improvements to match IOS/iPhone performance.
Octa please obtain on this but we all know you won't because you just don't care. I've been using this application for months and don't carry around money so there's no method for me to go to school anymore, please obtain on this immediately for people like me
Has locked me out multiple times when my acc is still active. I have missed buses because of this. Does not recognize when reinstalled on the same device, so it lists multiple decides on my acc now, and there is no method for me to remove the other devices from my account. Customer service has been small to no help. Zero follow up or follow through.
This Application generally works fine, but it has been crashing since this morning. I created several attempts to troubleahoot (cleared cache, restarted phone, even uninstalled & re-installed the App), but it still crashes within a few seconds of being opened. Unreliable App.
The application works amazing but alot of the drivers are beautiful inconsiderate. Had a driver deny 3 of us transferon 66 because she was at the front of the line at a red light. 2 minute she sat there more than enough time to allow 3 people on. Pure garbage.
The application was working perfectly although I admit it was slow at times so I had to have it begin a min before the bus got to my stop. But then the modernize happened and it just kept crashing, I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, still nothing. It's finals week so time is precious to me atm so this sucks.
Edit: As of 12/11/18, application has been fixed and works as usual. As of 12/10/18, application crashes within first 5 seconds of begin which stops me from being able to purchase tickets or do anything with the app. Deleting cache and reinstalling did nothing.
Application keeps crashing. Some of us that dont carry money are highly dependent on the application working. Unfortunately, when it isnt working the drivers on the buses arent aware of it at all, nor are considerate of how some of us dont carry cash, but still need to obtain to our destination. OCTA needs to do a better job at communicating with drivers when there are system wide problems, to create the rider experience smoother.
Update: DO NOT INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION, dated 6/8/18. It crashes on my phone, I was able to install it on my smartphone but it showed my acc as having no saved passes. To fix it: Go to apkpure and look for "OC Bus Mobile Ticketing 1.8.3371" to revert to the previous version. You wish the one dated 4/15/18. I called OCTA but they don't anything about it and wouldn't support me. Finally supports senior/disabled. For those who didn't obtain their message in the mail: Make an acc and enter your ID # in the reduced fare section. For senior, enter an S before the number. For disabled, enter a D before the number. And that should be it, add your paypal info and you can buy as a lot of passes as you wish at $1.50 per day (or 0.75 per single ride). Its better than money and messing with paper tickets.
I got on the bus to pay and the application kept closing on it's own! I ended up having to pay $2 for my ride when I already paid $40 for my month pass. I even tried restarting my phone and nothing.. that's the latest time I'll ever use this app. I say stick to the regular passes.
I like traveling with this company. My major issue is they are always late by an hour picking me up from the O'Donnell Chop Off stop at the TA stop with the truckers. It is usually night time and to dark, for a woman traveling. It is seriously disrespectful to the customer. The customer should be treated better, since it is them who keeps this company in business. People need to check and place their own luggage on the bus. The bus driver is NOT responsible. Cleaner bathrooms are required badly!!!
rear of bus stinks. i showed up 30 minutes early. waited an 1.5 hours after time to realize bus past my stop and wasnt returning. i contacted support. i ended staying at hotel latest night and waiting 24hrs for next bus to present up. company didnt problem any compensation or free ride
Straighforward, quick and amazing coverage. Have used a dozen times to book successfully, and would recommend to anyone. The one gotcha is when you book too close to the departure time.. I've had a few attempts fail in that situation without a clear reason displayed. Overall a solid app.
I've only gotten Tufesa and Greyhound but the rates are fine, nothing special same as other shop apps, no rewards or remembering my device for next trip. Fast. And I like this one better than others because there are no schedules for these buses given out so you HAVE to know your destination and that just doesn't always mean that town will have buses. So I learned the key prediction is intelligent so you type like 2 letters and you might just bring up a destination that you didn't know about. I don't obtain clear information on which bus is which route until after I've ordered. So I can't obtain the bus number beforehand so the part showing the stops en route is always convienant.
Amazing booking service. Used here in Colombia and booking was so much easier. We arrived at the bus terminal late and with the busbud print out we got straight on the bus and the staff went to obtain our formal tickets just before the bus departed. Perfect and highly recommended service.
