'Mahatma Gandhi (Little People, Huge Dreams)' by Ma Isabel Vegara with illustrations by Albert Arrayas is a picture book in a series about popular hatma, born Mahandas, was a small boy with a huge heart. His mother taught him to be honest. When he was older, he went to school in London. He took his law degree to South Africa to work as a lawyer, but found prejudice there. His first protest was there in the middle of the street. It became the first peaceful resistance movement. From there he went back to India and more peaceful, gentle is is such a beautifully told story. I love the sweet drawings of a gentle kid who became a globe leader. The book contains a timeline. I have appreciated almost every book in this series I've read.I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Childrens, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.
This is a unbelievable entry in a unbelievable series. With its lovely and appealing illustrations, along with a easy (yet profound) story line, this book gives young readers a possibility to learn more about a most impressive man. Even as an adult, I learned things about Gandhi that I had not known while reading this book. Gandhi was a man who stood up (and sat down) for his beliefs in equality and self-government, always invoking peaceful protest. He is a man to be y thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for another entry in a most favorite series. All opinions are my own.
This is another amazing book to add to the Small People, Huge Dreams collectionI love this series as they are excellent introductions to young people about some of the most popular and influential people from our past and show and are also a reminder about how these people have also changed our history.5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended and can't wait for my daughter to obtain involved in the series and for me this book is a much for any children's library
I LOVE these small books! What a unbelievable series this is!Like the David Bowie book I reviewed a couple of days ago, Mahatma Gandhi is brightly and cheerfully illustrated while the words tell the story of a truly unique soul. There are a lot of instances for discussion in this book and lessons for learning. And the latest sentence, illustrated with Gandhi as a boy a dove perched on his hand says:And Mahatma, the small boy with the very huge heart, gave a single lesson to those who hope for a brighter future: sometimes the power of peace is greater than the power of force. What a hopeful message! The Amazon webpage for this book has some of the pages and illustrations for viewing so that you can see the vibrancy of these pictures and words.I think this would be a unbelievable series to share with your kid or as a gift.I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love this series of books and this particular title does not disappoint. I’ll buy as a lot of of these as I can because they are such an simple read and give you so much info and so a lot of necessary figures. I found a series latest year and bought almost each one for my classroom because they are on fourth and fifth grade AR reading levels. It is so hard to search short but quality nonfiction reading materials on that level that will capture a child’s attention. This is a excellent series for reluctant readers but really anyone will have fun them. And it’s amazing to learn about so a lot of various people in such a short amount of time. Can’t say enough amazing about this book.

Ghandi was def a 'One-of-a-Kind..' Person!!!, So for that and So much more, He was Set aside..! It is for that reason, a long with His Well-known Resiliance to Stand alone for His Unique beliefs and allow the Globe know that despite just how various we may all be, it is up to US ALL, to stand on our Own 2 feet, and present Everyone else that We ought to Fend for ourselves Regardless of just how much we are place down, etc..and with Grace and Integrity
It is inspirational. In my relatively little exposure, I have been completely focused on the messages that transcend the narrow materialistic & superficial selfishness that characterises much of social & general media. Like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, & our Lord Jesus Christ; Mahatma Ghandi recognised the value of human beings (& life in general) as being of Paramount importance. I intend to read much more of his concepts.c

This is a reprint of the original 1924 edition with a fresh introduction. The popular French novelist Romain Rolland, a pacifist himself, wrote this biography to introduce Gandhi, who was previously unknown, to Europe. The book sold 100,000 copies in the first year and by 1926 was in its 50th edition. The prose is simple to read, even lyrical with a simplified story. Gandhi is presented as a Christ like figure and the biography takes the reader to 1922. Gandhi was assassinated in 1948.

I continue to be impressed by the Small People, Huge Dreams series. Each book in the series shares the lives of an extraordinary person, who had an awesome impact on the world. The thing they have in common is that they all had a dream as a child.I think most people have heard about Ghandi, the leader of the Indian independence movement versus British colonial rule. He used non-violence to rise up, and war injustice. This is a children's book and it is a easy introduction to Ghandi. It does not tell us everything he did, but used his peaceful protesting to teach a very necessary lesson to children. I love the quirky illustrations and easy language found on each page. I learned some things about his background that I did not know before. Once again, this series for young kids demonstrates that you are never to young to have a dream or to start working to create it a reality. I recommend this book and series to all elementary school libraries. The publisher generously provide me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.
