Yes, it's good. Yes, it's worth can tell it's not really pure Stephenson. It's not very witty, which we'd agree is his strength. Interesting story, told kinda guess is he developed the plot and handed it over to the other writer. It's not Stephenson.
This book was a bit of a "reintroduction" to PHP. I have used PHP in the distant past but have been using somewhat more recently. The explanations were carefully written and the code example(s) were well crafted. I would say that some primary knowledge of HTML is certainly needed and that one should know the basics of how a page is processed on a web server. Once you read this easy "Quick Begin Guide" you are well equipped to delve into PHP and its' extensive preprocessing capabilities. My sincere thanks to the authors!
I guess this was a satisfactory beginners tutorial but it didn't go much beyond that and the PHP code examples given in steps in the book differed from the completed code in the Appendix. I was a small disappointed.
In today's society, it's hard for most people to imagine life without private computers and the Internet. Public access to the Internet may be responsible for more changes in the method we carry out our day-to-day lives than any other happening in history. Today, businesses without www services are rarities, as are people in the free globe that don't spend at least part of their day using the Internet for one purpose or another.
I was referred by a mate to check this book out for support with creating contact forms.Upon reading I realized I was getting so much more...Plenty of information on scripting/programming fundamentalswith plenty of code supplied. I really liked the copy and paste options. I will refer to this book often!
This is a very interesting book for Beginners who'd like to explore what-the-heck PHO is and how it might apply to you. I learned that it is all about Web development, esp. In the zone of blogs! Since I went in knowing absolutely nothing, not even what the acronym stands for, I am very impressed.
I have a CIS degree and PHP is a very sought after skill in my field. I literally had one course that taught PHP so I've been looking to brush up on this skill. I found this book to be easy to under and everything was very well explained. This is a really amazing tutorial for beginners.
I used to work with PHP and CSS a small bit with my WordPress pages but never got any formal training for it. This was a amazing refresher for the PHP syntax and some of the other things I forgot to do (like embedding PHP). This will definitely come in use as a handy reference tutorial when I need it as I jump back into PHP. Recommended for anybody wanting to obtain a fast grasp on PHP fundamentals!
This is a amazing tutorial to teach the newcomer how to write code for a web site. I am a complete novice but this topic has intrigued me for a while and after reading this book, I have a much better grasp of the subject. Well written with lots of content. Well done!
muita propaganda mas pouca entrega. Application lento, sincronização com a conta (principal diferencial do app) é falho pois duplica informações e nao traz todo o histórico.
E, provavelmente, as posteriores.
(Jan/2019 e o problema continua...)
Who was murdered? He was! D.O.A. is directed by Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton and adapted to screenplay by Charles Edward Pogue from a story by Russell Rouse and Clarence Greene. It stars Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan, Daniel Stern, Charlotte Rampling, Jane Kaczmarek and Christopher Neame. Melody is by Chaz Jankel and cinematography by Yuri Neyman. A loose remake of the 1950 movie noir of the same name, the story finds Professor Dexter Cornell (Quaid) staggering into a police station proclaiming that he is dying because someone has poisoned him. Told in flashback by Cornell, we see the happenings that led up to the point he was poisoned, but not who did it, and then track the frantic Professor as he tries to solve the who done it mystery before he keels over and dies. Not as poor as the not good box office returns suggest it is, D.O.A. is still very much a frustratingly shaky experience. Lifting only the primary idea of the 1950 movie, the makers stamp their own tag on the premise but add too a lot of red herrings to the already fishy stew. Some plot developments are daft, as is the casting of Meg Ryan in the key femme role - seriously she is just too cookie cute and homely for this material - while the motive reveal is a bit much to swallow. Yet there's still a lot to have fun and sample here for the neo-noir faithful. Visually the picture is stylish and appreciative to its noir roots. Opening in black and white to set the story in motion, Jankel and Morton then infuse the movie with angled shots and frame distortions. Shadows often come into play, with Venetian blinds and roof rafters impacting, while the addition of a spiral staircase late in the day is most pleasing. Quaid is ever watchable in what is a tricky role that calls for him to garner sympathy whilst not being likable! While elsewhere Stern and Rampling provide amazing characterisations, even if as written the roles are too little given the importance the characters have to the plot shenanigans. A bit over cooked on the page, and basically a race versus time thriller dressed up in neo-noir clothing, D.O.A. is still none the less worthy of a viewing. 6.5/10
Edmond O'Brien is one of my favourite actors of the period, and if you need any startling evidence of why, just check out his performance here in Rudolph Mate's heartily original noir-shocker, 'D.O.A.'. Another amazing reason to check the movie out, the Polish-born director, created a smooth transition from being a amazing cinematographer, and this is probably his most shining triumph helming a picture. If you have ever wondered why 'film noir' has been considered such a consistently rewarding and enthralling body of cinematic work, like the earlier 'Pre-Code' era, check this one out, and others of its ilk. A sheerly delightful movie that holds up well today. Though I haven't checked its 80's remake out, I'm not too curious about it, other than the slight curiosity from its notoriety of it being the movie in which Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan met and eventually decided to marry. Other than that, I'm more than content simply watching this.

Doc and Wyatt. The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, Wednesday, October 26, 1881, gets an all star glossy Hollywood telling. Directed by John Sturges and adapted by Leon Uris from an article written by George Scullin. It stars Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Rhonda Fleming, Jo Van Fleet, John Ireland and Lyle Bettger. Melody is by Dimitri Tiomkin and cinematography by Charles B. Lang Junior. I don't wish any part of him. I don't even like him. Actually The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral as a title is something of a bum steer, for Sturges' two hour film gives up just over five mins to the actual happening that continues to fascinate over 130 years later. In fact, for such a glorious sounding title, it's arguably surprising that there is very small action in the movie. For what unfolds in that two hour running time is what director (Sturges would be bemused by its success and ten years later took another stab at the legend and created Hour of the Gun) and leading actors agreed was a very talky movie, the emphasis is on a friendship, a love really, between John Henry "Doc" Holliday and Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp. This is one of the Western genre's greatest "buddy-buddy" movies. Listen, preacher, being here is causing me a lot of embarrassment. Some people are even taking me for a lawman. In spite of its talky nature and being very much a "town" Western, the movie was hugely successful and became a leading forerunner for all star Westerns. It wasn't all sweetness and light, mind. In the beginning Douglas had already turned down the role of Earp before accepting the part of Holliday (Bogart was close, Palance and Widmark also considered) and Lancaster had to be "bribed" to take on the role of Wyatt (being beautiful vociferous about the talky nature of the screenplay). The two leading men were initially at odds with each other, but they would form a respectful friendship from here on in and their chemistry as Doc and Wyatt is why the movie succeeds as a "literate" piece. All gunfighters are lonely. They live in fear. They die without a dime, a woman or a friend. It has a mixed reputation amongst Western aficionados, which is understandable. Some of the dialogue is cheesy and the likes of Fleming and DeForest Kelley are in turn badly written and under used. There's also the historical fudging of the story and the sparsity of landscape photography, the latter of which a crime given it's a VistaVision Technicolor production. The city set designs often look artificial, a issue since 90% of the picture is set to city background, but if viewed as a story of a friendship set to the popular shoot-out, it strikes all the right notes; including Frankie Laine's warbling of the clippy cloppy catchy title tune. It should have been titled Doc and Wyatt, though. 8/10
Being a large fan of both James Cagney and Bette Davis, I thoroughly enjoyed this screwball comedy, which proved their only pairing. Perfect supporting cast, including such legends as Eugene Pallette and Jack Carson, support overcome the limitations of the script and create an enjoyable film.
Application used to be good. Recent updates have causes it to crash when it is first opened. When you do obtain past the crash, the e-print ver does not load. The only method you can read the paper is to begin in a web browser. Using a Samsung Tab E on Android device 7 and a Pixel C on Android device 8. Update:4/16/18 The above problem was fixed shortly after the review was posted. However, an application modernize or some other problem is causing the application to not function again. While the application opens in digest form, the eprint ver does not load and shows no signs that it is trying to load.
Fresh modernize doesn't open. I used to read the N&O (app) every day. Tried installing a couple of times over the past few days. Application worked best before they switched to the "Screed" or whatever it's called a couple months ago. Now I can't obtain it to work at all. Updated 12/31/17: Application seems fine now. Just the occasional ad overlay that gets in the way.
This application has generally been amazing but they don't seem to be paying much attention to updating it. The "shop talk" section is now completely blank and the newest articles in the community sections are from more than four to six months ago. And as others have pointed out, the same articles appear over and over in multiple sections. Recently, too, clicking on articles have brought up the wrong stories for an entire section. Desperately needs updating!!!
