EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

There are loads of security camera solutions on the shop with a lot of confusing combinations of technology, scalability, and pricing. I wanted a easy solution - a single inexpensive outdoor wide-angle camera with night vision, wireless connectivity, and the ability to view the camera online. The EZVIZ husky fits the bill nicely. My setup only needed me to screw the camera base in under the eave, run a concealed power cord, and connect to my house wireless. I've been using the camera since Nov S:1. Simple setup. I had no issue getting it connected to my wireless network.2. Motion detection. (The method this works is you configure a sensitivity setting. Each time it "trips" a couple mins of video are recorded on the embedded memory card - or up in the cloud on the Internet if you pay a nominal fee - $5.99/mo for 7 day plan.). To play a recorded file you call up a time index with highlighted locations representing times when recording was active. I can use this feature to search out when a vehicle arrived/left my house.3. Decent resolution - 3 available settings up to 1080p. This is not a PTZ camera, but I obtain a good, clear wide-angle field of vision.4. Night vision - infrared lights provide an inconspicuous but amazing zone of coverage.5. Push notifications - Need to be alerted when your camera detects motion? The application will do that. You can also configure time windows when you wish to turn on or suppress notifications. Even with notifications off the camera will record motion events.6. Internet connectivity - You can connect to your camera from anywhere in the globe over the net as long as you have the app. You logon with a username/password, and there are encryption settings to protect your NS:1. Unless you use PoE (power over Ethernet) and run a network cable you will need to create provision for electrical power. The camera has a little "wall wart" AC adapter that you will need to shield from the elements. I located my camera under the eaves and was able to conceal an outdoor extension cord to provide power.2. EZVIZ application - You have to use the EZVIZ application to view your camera. It gets the job done, but the interface feels dated. I've used both the Android device and the Apple ver and both work well. The application will help multiple cameras at once and you can view stored video from either the cloud or off the memory card. There are rudimentary features available to pause, zoom-in etc.3. Memory storage - I have bandwidth problems with my Internet provider so piping a bunch of video onto the net was out of the question. I can obtain about 3 days of stroage on the embedded memory card before the photos start overwriting. This is enough for my needs. You can save video from the camera to an external file if you are determined.4. Connectivity - I have periodically had problems with the camera dropping offline. Sometimes this happens when my wireless access point freezes up. Sometimes it seems to be the camera's fault. I have learned which circuit breaker cycles power to the outside outlet the camera uses as most problems are resolved by cycling power. Unfortunately if you are two states away and your camera goes off-line you are stuck.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

This amazing camera is ruined by not good software design. The largest problem is the 5 min timeout for viewing the camera feed. Absolutely nowhere is this designed-in restriction mentioned in any marketing materials for their cameras or I wouldn't have bought them. I kept these cameras thinking this problem could be resolved by tech help but no, there's no method around it. I use the cameras to hold tabs on a family member with Alzheimer’s and their caretaker and it's absurd I constantly have to press play and wait for the camera to re-connect to view the camera feed. Ezviz claims this is to minimize impact on wireless data rates. I'm well aware of my data rates and how much I use and don't need Ezviz deciding how I use it. There especially shouldn't be a limit when wireless devices are connected to wi-fi.Even worse the Studio application on my PC is inflicted with the 5 min problem as well, although it is wired directly to my router. Why? Ezviz says that's just the method it is.Other issues:- Intermittent “Operation Error” when attempting to view clips in the Studio app.- Constant login issues. Why do I need to log into Ezviz servers in order to view my home cameras on my home PC? So I can't even do that if there are internet issues?- Studio application window is near impossible to re-size.- Numerous false motion alertsThe video quality the camera produces is quite good. Too poor its damned by software issues. I want I didn't invest in 4 of these cameras.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

I own multiple of these troops and a few of the dome dozens from EZVIZ as well. They shoot crystal-clear recordings, but have some problems that create them less than perfect. Until a latest firmware update, the photo couldn't be flipped within the phone application. That has been resolved. What hasn't been resolved is the lack of help for a web browser to view live photos from the cameras. Another problem is that the Android device app does not let for easily going through a day of footage--it's impossible to create little adjustments going forward or backward a few seconds in either direction because the only method to advance or backup footage is with a clumsy scroll bar that cannot be dialed in for accuracy. It's a frustrating experience to test and adjust footage forward or backward. The no-longer-functioning web interface allowed for such adjustments. The phone application needs major improvements, and EZVIZ needs to add back help for a web interface or at least provide a portal of some kind to access, view, and download captured footage from a web ings I like:1) POE help -- create installing these so much easier2) Unbelievable photo quality3) Sturdy design that will keep up over years of useThings I don't like:1) Phone application is limited and frustrating to use2) No web-browser help for real-time viewing of captured feeds3) No web-browser help for downloading or viewing videosThis is one of those situations where amazing hardware is hampered by lousy software and apps. I hope EZVIZ comes out with improvements for their application that allows the user to adjust what increment that wish to adjust videos by (seconds, minutes, etc...)

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

I really like the set of features offered on this unit. It has power-over-ethernet (don't forget to order a separate PoE injector) so that you don't need to locate it near an outlet or run a long power cable to it. The picture is crisp. The motion-detection worked right out of the box (I didn't even need it for several months, and then I checked the application and saw that it had all of this saved video from detected motion since I installed it). It has an internal memory card so that you don't need to sign up for their cloud storage service. It's supposed to do wi-fi but I didn't wish to hassle with that (especially since doing so would require my running *power* out to it. As long as I'm going to be running *some* cable out to it, I decided to just go with ethernet and use PoE). The weather-proofing looks beautiful solid. There's a rubber gasket around the memory card slot and the ethernet connector is weatherized. The iPhone application is OK... not great, but OK. It lets me watch live from anywhere in the world, review past video captures, view cameras 4-up at a time. The layout and icons aren't all that intuitive, but I only use the application about once every couple of months. If I used it more often, perhaps I would search it more fluid to use. I think I'm about to order another one of these as well as one of their pan-tilt dome ones.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

I purchased the 16GB Cam after looking at a lot of various cameras. The setup was a bit rubbish, followed the instructions and nothing worked. Had the phone next to the camera and the settings didnt push over. The application then made a QR code and said point it at the Camera and the lights will flash. There are no lights no nothing. At this point I realized that these Cameras were used and re-packaged. The memory cards included had data on them, one power supply plug did not work and the POE weather cap was the wrong type and color for one unit. After sorting this all out I then realized that the Cameras were not taking my 5GHZ network and I switched ti my 2.4GHZ network. Now the cameras were configuring correctly. I replaced the 16GB micro cards with some 32 ones but the cameras did not see them. I formatted them Fat32 and the place them back in but the cameras still did not see them. Discovered that if you create any changes to the SD card you have to completely close the application from your phone and relaunch. On to the Camera itself, the application defaults to primary so you need to change the quality to standard or Hi-Def. The Colors are vivid and Pop beautifully, you can see amazingly with the High Def. The night vision for me worked better with the IR off only because of Road lamps and neighbors spot lights. With that said every so often I begin the application and obtain Device Offline for no rhyme or reason and it is very frustrating. Some times its just one sometimes its both. Currently I have yet to mount the cameras so its simple to unplug them, but once mounted this will be very annoying. I check my connected devices to my router and the router still shows them as connected but the application and www service shows them as offline. Rebooting my router also seemed to obtain them working, fix this problem in a firmware and you would obtain 5 stars from me.I also am looking to expand the system to 4 cameras and getting the local storage device to bypass the cloud storage. As I stated so far its ok I havent played with notifications as of yet. I also would like to adjust the amount of recording is done as sometimes there is movement and 30 seconds of recording other times there is 5 minutes.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

The EZVIZ Huksy HD 1080p camera is nearly useless as a security camera. You will only obtain at most a few mins of video feed time if you are using Amazon Echo Show. The Echo skill is designed to only let limited time of camera viewing before it cuts out. The same issue occurs when you use the iPhone/iPad EZVIZ app. There is a viewing mode buried within settings that will let you to do continuous viewing but... it only allows you to view one camera at a time, so you are out of luck if you wish multiple cameras to do continuous video surveillance of various parts of your house. I asked EZVIZ technical help if they sold DVRs that could be used to accept a continuous video feed, and they said yes -- but those DVR's come with their own cameras and apparently don't work with this one. So in the end, if you only wish one camera to look at one part of the house and you have an additional iPad you can devote to continuous viewing of that part of the house, then maybe you will search this camera useful. Otherwise, I strongly recommend that you steer clear of this model and all other models like this one unless a practical, multi-channel, continuous video feed solution is available.

Amazon, LLC keeps sending me camera packages that have already been opened. They refuse to send me a replacement after receiving two cameras that have already been does have RTSP for linking with Location Minder or Blue Iris software for your own NVR. Don't believe what EZVIZ says about how the camera does local recording to their EZVIZ Vault Local Wi-Fi Cloud Storage unit - they no longer manufacturer the unit. Camera does cloud recording for a subscription fee that increments with the number of cameras. For free you can only keep alerts when the camera spots something according to your alert settings and live view from their short, this is a less expensive alternative of Nest cameras without some of the more interesting Nest features. If you wish shop video clips locally and do not wish to deal with configuring your own NVR through something like Location Minder or Blue Iris do buy this product.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

A comparison between the two cameras can begin with the general appearance. The husky does look more appealing than the zmodo bullet cam to me. As seen in the pics I really appreciate the ezviz placement of the power/ethernet cable. It is hidden by the mount which also has a gasket in it. This offers a much cleaner look on the outside of your building.PoE is offered by each cam BUT the huge difference being ezviz supports STANDARD PoE, zmodo ONLY works with their OWN DVR. So if you have a PoE switch at home the ezviz works amazing and I tested successfully - zmodo, not at all.I had no problem at all adding the device to WLAN and have yet to see it drop off or go offline as others have described. I do use mesh at home rather than a single WAP. Wireless connection problems most likely are due to outdated, single WAP deployments servicing 50 intelligent home e IR capabilities seem better on the ezviz than zmodo but each server the purpose and function h management apps have their pros and cons. I do want the ezviz application allowed for swiping through happening notifications rather than returning to the list each time. Setting schedules on each is no problem, notifications (false and positive) are comparable with each even with sensitivity adjusted low. I have also used Ezviz Studio on a PC which works fine from remote ither allows you to take advantage of your synology NAS for data dumps. Zmodo used to but a 'firmware upgrade' suddenly took that away as they push their cloud storage as this is the second ezviz cam I have tested getting it to work with a Spot was easier. Chose a name, alexa - explore devices ...... Present backyard camera and a small bit later there it is. Just like with the other ezviz the feed is 6 to 10 seconds behind but amazing enough to confirm if anything is there.I like the cam and would/have recommended it. Be aware of your WLAN implementation, bandwidth constraints and give it a try.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

UPDATE 4/24/18 (1 Star)The Camera failed after I wrote this review due to an problem with the outdoor weather seal. Water created it's method into the camera which shorted out it and the TPLink PoE Injector I had connected to the device. I had to also replace the entire run of Cat5 cable to the camera. Thankfully the 128GB SANdisk SD card survived but because of the method EZVIZ encodes their video (even with encryption disabled) none of the video could be salvaged from the e RMA process will cost you out of pocket to ship the camera back to EZVIZ and they will ship you another camera in about a week.Original Post (2 Stars)I purchased this product to compliment the 3 Ring devices I have and also to try out a fresh vendor. This was purchased over Cyber Monday '17 but I did not have a possibility to install it until Jan '18. The first thing that was appealing about this camera was that it stored data on an SD card that could be upgraded to 128GB. I did purchase a SANdisk SD card to go with this device. I tested out the Wireless connection connectivity for the camera and found it to be really responsive but where I was mounting the camera on the exterior of my home there was no outlet so I went out and purchased a 3rd party PoE injector and ran a Cat5 cable from my router to the camera zone on the tup via the mobile application was a breeze and I thought I was ready to capture video of the exterior of my home in the happening there was something wrong.Flash forward to latest week when there was an happening that I required to export. I had installed the EZViz Studio app (ver 1.1.3) on my Windows 10 PC and the recent ver of the EZViz app on my Samsung Galaxy S8+. The first thing I did was attempt to use the EZViz studio app to export the video I wanted by pressing the record button while viewing the video from the app. I allow the video play but it stopped to load halfway through the time I wanted to capture which stopped the recording process. I attempted to reset the recording after the loading process from the application, possibly the camera was loading the next video clip since it appears that the camera segments files on the SD card which are called about every min or so, so seamless playback between segments and the ability to record between these segments is not I attempted to view the files via Windows Media player but the player could not recognize the file format of the exported/recorded files. The files were exported as .mp4 files but they were unable to be played back. I thought the file was corrupted so I attempted to do the same export procedure from the EZviz App on my Samsung Galaxy S8+. It made a file locally on the phone but did not append a file extension of .mp4 to the file. When I attempted to play the file on my device the Samsung phone stated the file was in an unrecognized format. So there are problems with exporting files from the camera to devices. This is a serious limitation because if I need to export the video and provide it to authorities I cannot do that in a usable I attempted to use the EZViz Studio App on my Windows 10 PC to play back the files since the video playback on the camera works there. Unfortunately the EZViz Studio App does not help playing locally stored video, it only plays back video stored on the SD card on the camera.I opened a help case with EZViz via e-mail explaining the above. EZViz help suggested I download VLC Player to play the videos. I did this and the video appeared to play but the video was choppy and was not smooth, it was like the video export had missed several frames and the sharpness of the original video in the EZViz Studio was gone. I attempted several various times to record the video from the EZViz studio app to my Windows 10 PC and then play the video with VLC player with the same result. I brought this problem to EZViz support's attention and they stated that the video files are playing what they captured. I then used issue steps recorder and Windows 10 Android game mode and sent them the results of me using the EZViz studio app to present that that was not the case and there appears to be an problem with exporting their video from the camera.I have been going back and forth with their help for over a week now. I asked if there was someway I could specify the plugins or codecs used by EZViz to play back the video in Windows Media player or VLC properly and was told that the way was l playback from the camera has to happen from the EZviz Studio Application or the Mobile Application which severely limits the functionality of this camera. If you wish to obtain video off of the camera you must use a 3rd party capture way of the App output because it is not possible to export the video from the camera in a usable format currently.

EZVIZ Vault High Capacity 1TB External Video Recorder Network Storage for EZVIZ Indoor Outdoor Security Cameras review [Book]  2019-11-30 18:3

So I have two of these things and they worked amazing initially but then something went horribly wrong after about a month. First, the integration with Alexa requires that you turn off the encrypted feed so create sure they don't point anywhere personal if you wish that. Then, right after the free trial ended, the camera's started going offline every night at the exact same time. I've been working with their tech help ever since and they can't search anything on either end that is causing it. That is of course when their tech help actually responds. I haven't heard from them in a couple weeks now and they won't return my emails anymore. The fact that they were both purchased and installed a week apart, and yet both stopped working at the same time, tells me that there is something screwy in the software. The only solution right now is to reboot them every morning which doesn't support when they don't work from 1:04 am until reboot. Go buy an Arlo or a Foscam if you wish something that works.

EZVIZ FULL HD 1080p Outdoor Video Security Add-on Bullet Camera, Weatherproof, 100ft Night Vision, Customizable Motion Detection, Included 60ft BNC Cable review [Book]  2019-12-2 18:2

This is actually my first review.I work for an IT MSP so tech devices and installation such as these cameras are right in my wheel-house. That being said, I had no issue running line and getting this setup. I ran outdoor cat6 cable (Ubiquiti Toughcable) and connected BNC baluns at each end. This method I can easily make batter if the need or wish is there. Everything worked beautiful smoothly until lately. Cameras are great, easily 4/5. Mobile application and notifications are decent, 4/5 as well - notifications are a small sensitive. Aesthetically, the device is a solid 4/5.Why I rate this 1/5 is due to a the camera system running into an problem with what I assume are updates automatically pushed from the cloud. After around two weeks of uninterrupted service my device started a boot loop. The boot loop occurs when the device has a network connection. I've tried everything... Re-formatting, factory defaulting, plugging in the network cable at various stages, you name it. Normally this wouldn't be a issue but there are no useful FAQs, help articles, or firmware updates on their this point, I'd just reach out to EZVIZ and begin a help case for a fast troubleshooting session - You would think right? eir customer service hours, Pacific Time, are between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday. Don't test and call after 5pm though because you'll be on keep for an hour before the line triggers into after-hours and you obtain disconnected. I have a regular full time day job that I'm not going to take time off of to fix a brand fresh camera system. That being said, I sent them an email to obtain help on my own time. It has been a week and I haven't gotten a technically savvy as I consider myself, I don't think an average person would go through the steps I've already taken. I would think most people would have tried to return the device or write it off and [email protected]#$%!. I'm really jealous of the user with functioning devices.

I "upgraded" to this 4K ver from their 1080p version. The old one has better video quality than the 4K version. The night vision is beautiful much useless. I compared with ample amount of lights and my old model produces better video also very warm to touch.I will hold the old 1080p version.

The system works beautiful well but is not good quality. I ordered it in December of 2016 and in January of 2018 I discovered one of my outdoor "waterproof" cameras was full of water. Of course I am just out of the 1 year warranty even though it wasn't installed until Spring of 2017. Amazon wants $76 to buy a fresh camera when the whole system with 4 cameras is less than $200 new.UPDATE 10/20/18...this system has been installed less than 2 years and I now have a second outdoor camera full of water that is malfunctioning and a 3rd camera that is installed under a porch that has no water in it but it cutting in and out. That is 3 out of 5 camera that have went poor in less than 2 years.

Liked it now hate it. It has some terrific feature for the price. The picture was amazing but not great; it was however amazing enough to watch the property around my very rural house. Then the almost all of the infra-red LED's burned out and this 4 camera system was blind at night in 3 of the cameras. Not being able to see anything on camera is of course useless. Couldn't really search any warranty info so I found the manufacturers www service and sent in a complaint. I believe I was patient and straight forward in my description of the problem and just asked for the cameras to be replaced or upgraded, I also indicated that I had not posted any negative review of the product. Days later I obtain an email asking for a ridiculous amount of extra proof ( camera images, how they are mounted, and of course another copy of the amazon invoice). I assemble all of this info and sent it on its way, 10 day later I obtain a phone call and am told I need to send extra images as they were questioning the photos I sent ( ambient lighting from the moon and far away drive method lights created photos just barely visible). I sent the fresh picture that I took at 4a (yes I has to obtain up at 4a and take the pictures they wanted)..... 10 days later on a Friday at about 4p I obtain another from them (ET versus PT). I call back the next day Saturday of course no answer. Called on Monday and couldn't create it through to them.... LONG AND SHORT OF IT, THIS PRODUCT WILL BREAK AND THEY WILL PUT YOU INTO A WELL REHEARSED DELAY ROUTINE UNTIL YOU GIVE UP. AMAZON WAS GREAT. DELIVERY, EZVIZ IS JUNK AND THEIR SERVICE IS A SCAM.

I strongly recommend versus buying this device. Reason #1. There is no IP address you can log into within your home to access and configure the system. Reason #2. In order to configure the system you need an HDMI cable and a unique monitor since it does not work properly with flat screen TV's. Reason #3. In order to obtain the QR code to use it with your cell phone you need to hook it up to an HDMI cable / monitor, then use the crappy mouse to type in a password and then hook it up to the internet. There is no factory restart if you skip a step or do it wrong. Latest but not least - I bought this fresh and the QR code said it was used. In this case you are stuck with a device you can't use. They tell you to search the previous owner and ask them to remove it. I bought it from Amazon so not sure how this could happen. Two year home renovation project and the EZVIZ was the hardest part...nothing EZ about this!!!

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

I've already contacted CS with Blink to see about getting a RMA number to return. I cannot believe they would without message stop my services from working and yes, I am talking about the Smartthings work around for integration. VERY DISAPPOINTED...

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

I found Blink through the Smartthings forum. I was hesitant in buying prior to that because the features seemed to amazing to be true. I took a possibility and got it. It was excellent for my use case together with Smartthings. I’ve since added a few more cameras and just recently gifted a few to my family members for Christmas and recommended it to my mates and they sent out an email saying they will discontinue integration with Samsung Intelligent Things effective immediately. For the life of me, I can’t understand how a company would shoot itself on the face! A 3rd party application and device handler developer named Rboy developed an application the Blink tech was unable to ? unwilling to ? or didn’t care to deliver. If you are going to remove a major feature because a 3rd party provided it, create sure to have your own to replace it. If you are truly incompetent and can’t, have the decency to allow your customer know ahead of time before sunsetting a major feature. And what an a…hole method to roll it out, deactivating the same day they send out an email with no explanation whatsoever and their customer help not having any add insult to injury, they send a follow up email that you can send back your blink cameras and ship it at your own expense. Surely they know that people use this to integrate with home security that is critical and there is a major inconvenience / problem and they feel they are not liable for. These folks are geniuses on how to burn down your company. It’s like buying an iPhone and apple sends out an modernize that disables your camera, and the reason is … just because. It’s ill conceived, ill executed , ill communicated and a not good strategy.I am more @#$%ed about how this whole thing was rolled out and communicated. They are not a fly by night shady company, but thanks to this, they just joined that club. Had they given a heads up that they will no longer help Intelligent Things ahead of time and why, I would understand that. Looks like they just don't care about their customers. They released a latest modernize changing logos and color themes, as a software developer; I can't imagine how that "enhancement" created it more necessary than creating or fixing it's API integration with Intelligent Things which generated a large number of sales for them. This just shows you the misplaced priorities of this shady e product itself is OK and might work amazing for people who do not integrate with Samsung Intelligent Things. It's just Blink's business practice is so arrogant and just gave a middle finger to it's customers and it leaves a poor taste in the mouth.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

I only bought this camera because of the available Smartthings integration. Today I got an email from the Blink squad saying that they will no longer help Smartthings integration (including the RBoy app)If you have a Smartthings hub do yourself a favor and buy an Arlo camera instead.

They just pulled intelligent things integration without warning. This product is now useless to me. Fortunately I'm still within my return period, because these are definitely going back. If you don't care about intelligent things integration, then these are alright, but honestly their software is beautiful garbage, so you might consider ponying up for the arlo cameras.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

Bought this camera for security because I was going overseas for a long trip. While I was away my put was broken into. I did not keep a notification. When I returned I saw an email from Blink saying their servers went down and that a physical hard restart would be required to turn it back up. This is not possible when you are not physically home. If they have a system problem the camera should be able to restart itself afterwards. Because of this the intruder was not caught on camera. Useless.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

Amazing idea but I think they rushed this to market. This home security system is lacking some primary key features that most systems on the shop come standard with. Setup is simple and I love the complete wire free feature. The antennas are choppy and inconsistent with both WiFi and the sync module. I have a high powered router so signal should be amazing from anywhere around my one story home. The "instant on" feature doesn't work so well or at all. I am always capturing ghosts. If a person or object walks by the camera and doesn't hang around, the camera fails to capture anything but thin air. The 10sec record time and delay between the next record just adds to this issue, as does the weak IR sensor. The sensitivity settings don't work either. Even when set to level 1 I still obtain false positives multiple times per day. The application lacks any location masking of any kind which adds to the library of false positives. When I share a video via email the receiving party can't begin it. Although it shows as an mp4, the phone, computer or other device can't play it. It was a mistake to use an LED illuminator over the standard IR for night illumination. Also the IR for motion detection was a mistake as well. One would like to use this behind a window but can't accomplish this because of the limited IR detection function. I hope they can obtain their act together and place a true deal system on the market. I will gladly purchase a system with some much required improvements.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

We have purchased these a couple times. The first time, we went on vacation and used them to be able to peek in at our dog, who was being cared for by family members... just because we loved and missed him. They worked great! Then, we restart the cameras to use them at home. That's when it all went bad. The Wireless connection Hub just wouldn't pair to the app, no matter how a lot of times we unplugged and restart the hub, the cameras, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It just wasn't working anymore, so we returned them. At that time, I would have given them two stars... but I was not so amazing at rating is is the second time we have purchased these, to hold an eye on our home when we are away. One cool thing about these cameras is that you can remotely arm and disarm them from the companion app, regardless of where you are, as long as you have an internet connection. Additionally, the updated Blink application allows you to adjust a multitude of various settings: clip length, re-trigger time, motion detector sensitivity... there's even a Beta functionality for Temperature, which can give you a push notification if the temperature in a room falls outside of a range you obtain to specify. In our specific situation, we were using one camera to hold an eye on our aging dog, and it really helped knowing the temperature in a specific room (which was air-conditioned), so we could tell if there were brown-outs event in the summer heat and come home to bring our dog to our local air-conditioned beer ese cameras are extremely cool and versatile, and unlike other competitor options, these cameras do not require a monthly subscription to use and record video (looking at you Logitech Circle Wireless 1080p Video Battery Powered Security Camera with Person Detection, Motion Zones and Custom Alerts (Black) ... a 90 day free trial, followed by a monthly subscription to record video clips). There are even IFTT scripts you can run that let you to automate the arming and disarming of cameras, based on your phone's ese cameras are extremely cool and extremely easy to setup, I'm glad we gave them another shot. I didn't even talk about the fact that they are very compact and battery operated, but that's just an added bonus.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

Bought this because it was highly recommend on The Sweet Home. I was looking for a battery-powered camera fora my front door that was impossible to use with a wired device. And while I had none of the problems others had with setting it up, I found that it was not useful for my needs, and the marketing descriptions hides (or at least don't create clear) a lot of of the e largest problems I found are these:* It's overly sensitive to movement and shadows. Even at its lowest sensitivity, a passing shadow at the edge of its view, or a waving plant tendril triggered a recording (and a notification if that's set up, which gets old fast). Today alone, with it armed from 7am to 9pm, I have 116 notifications (and it's only 7pm as I write this!).* All those notifications would seem like they'd be helpful, but they are sent only after recording done rather than at initial movement. That's not useful. I wish to be notified as soon as the camera detects (real) motion, not after the fact.* You'd think with that level of sensitivity all those notifications you'd obtain video of everything that happens, but no. The device starts recording a second or two after it detects movement. Worse, because it's trying to save battery power, there's a limit on the length of a recording, and a delay before it starts to record again. You can only obtain 60 seconds of video, and must wait a minimum of 10 seconds to obtain video again. Together this means you often miss the beginning of an event, and miss the end, so you often miss crucial information. For example, it will catch me coming into through the front door, but miss me going back out a min or two later.* The device is advertised as being able to record in the dark, but that recording requires a bright white LED light to shine. That's not "in the dark"!I could go on and talk about the poorly designed application (hard to navigate, slow) or the limitations of watching live video (limited to 30 seconds), but you obtain the drift. This is a product with potential. Right now though, we're all just beta testers.

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

I will obtain right to the point why I feel these cameras are awesome and especially at this price point wth the ease and simplicity of installation. I bought this 5 camera system on Black Friday deals and paid $299 which was a savings of $50 plus free shipping! In less than 20 mins using the Blink application (which is flawless and allows adjustments of everything!) I had all 5 cameras unboxed, installed batteries which come with it, had them all scanned and named and everything up and running! No wires to run, no IP addresses to sync, no application failures, just a excellent working system!I even shut off the circuit breaker to simulate a power failure on the sync module, I waited 10 mins and turned it back on, guess what? IT CONNECTED FLAWLESSLY!!! You can't beat the photo quality, the audio picks up everything, but the awesome thing for me was the photo quality using the built in LED lights. SO MUCH DETAIL!!! I have uploaded a screen shot of my basement in total darkness using only the LED lights on the camera, it looks like day time! Another image shows my dining room in natural light leaking in from 2 sets of vertical blinds which are closed about 90 %. These camera let you to put them anywhere, you decide if you wish motion detection or not, you decide how long to record the clip, you decide if you wish to use LED lights or not and a whole bunch more options are available!! And when the camera detects motion the alerts come super fast! There is zero hassle to install, in my basement I installed one on the ceiling so I can check my boiler and hot water heater when I travel. Every camera comes with a multi angle mounting bracket. I am SOOOOOO satisfied I bought these cameras! I am planning on getting more! Look at all my photos, that is the true selling point. They work beautifully! I have been reading reviews and watching videos on you tube for months, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered them and I'm so glad I did! I have not had one problem or complaint! Lastly, I placed the sync module on the main floor of my home ( I have a split level) all 5 cameras have a 3-5 bar connection and work great. I think that is necessary when placing the module, my home is 36 feet wide and the farthest camera is 27 feet away and the closest one is 9 feet. I hope this helps everyone, if you have questions please ask. You can't place a price on piece of mind, but if you do why spend hundreds more than you have to? BLINK ROCKS!NOTE: I uploaded 8 photos, 1 showing true light and the other total darkness using built in LED light from camera. They are nowhere to be found!

Blink Indoor Home Security Camera System with Motion Detection, HD Video, 2-Year Battery Life and Cloud Storage Included - 5 Camera Kit review [Book]  2019-11-23 18:2

Hard to believe an security camera at this price only provide features of latest century. Lots of related product only cost $30 provide better features then it. Already returened1st, very poor picture in the darkness. Most $30 camera already uses infrared light sensor to detect motion and take pictures. This camera is usingwhite light, like you are taking a picture of someone in the darkness using the flash light on your phone. Not only you noticed the Intruder that 'hey there's security camera, you'd better destroy it', but also the picture quality is super poor(see attached picture).2nd Another issue of not using heat based motion detection is even something like dest in the air or fallen leaves outside of your window may wakeup the camera3rd, The application is unbelievably poor. Design: if you have multiple such camera in your home, you cannot turn off alert for just some of them, you need to hold all of them on or hold all of them off. It means if you are staying in a room which has such camera , you need to have the whole system turned off. bugs: The application always stuck on my iphone 7 plus; There are also some little UI bugs I don't wish to mention.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

    * Watching my driveway, foyer, and garage, the motion detector often does not pick up things that aren't little and hot - for example it completely misses the UPS and FedEx trucks that stop in my driveway.* When it does trigger, it has a limited clip length and won't retrigger quickly, so it often misses key action. When guests pull into the driveway, it usually registers the car, but has run out of recording time by the time somebody gets out, and if they were up to no good, they'd be totally missed.* Not good signal strength - it was difficult to search a put to for the 'sensor hub' that provided amazing coverage. All of the cameras are within 50' of the sensor, yet I can't search a put in the house for the hub where all obtain satisfactory signal.* System is busy - often when I manually request capture the app reports 'System is Busy'Not suitable for purpose as a security device - the system regularly fails to record critical events.I'm not going to throw these away, but I would not buy them again.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

Modernize 7/22/19 - Changing back to 1 star. They sent me replacement cameras that supposedly have better range due to a firmware update. Nothing changed, still can't connect to the one outside. I bought a $60 range extender and now obtain 4 out of 5 bars on that camera but it still won't connect. I thought this would be a amazing solution but apparently not.Update 6/1/19 - I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. Why? I got an email from the founder of Blink letting me know they are working on the unexpected problems and are very willing to work with me to obtain this figured out. They haven't actually done anything other than email me to allow me know this, but their willingness to jump in so quickly and work on a solution speaks volumes to their desire to provide amazing customer service. I'll modernize again after I hear more from them and if we create any progress.Original review:I worked with help for almost 2 hours trying to obtain these to work but couldn't obtain any farther than 25' from my router. It's a straight shot from the router to the front door and a typical 6" wood framed wall next to the front door. Inside the door they worked fine, but as soon as I place them outside they quite working. Considering this is a "2" ver you would think it would have better range. Very disappointed with Amazon and this product.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

UPDATE: I absolutely must commend the squad at Blink. For me, their latest flurry of software updates have resolved beautiful much every problem I have had. I still want that, overall, the ranges were greater, but my signal strength is now rock-solid (even without using my range extender). Live view works exactly as I expected and motion detection seems much more dialed in. It really feels like the system I addition, I can't say enough about their customer service. Though the experience was initially frustrating, having both Efrain, (from customer service) as well as Peter, (their founder and GM) reach out to me to ensure that the software updates were working and to offer help on any other problems has really impressed me. Several years back, I went through a related problem with a 1st generation coffee bean grinding coffee maker. The company that created the machine responded similarly to Blink and I have always said I would buy from them again in a heartbeat as long as they remain committed to that level of support. I can now say the same thing of , in summation, still want wi-fi was a tad more powerful, but thanks to Blink's persistence and impressive customer support, I feel like I now have the system I was expecting.UPDATE: Like a few others, I have revised my review because the founder of Blink has reached out to me, as has the Blink help team, which has left me very impressed with their customer service when it comes to dealing with the begin challenges. In addition, while there are still challenges, (like erratic live connection and motion tracking), the system has stabilized significantly for me. I DID end up purchasing a range extender, which left me a small chaffed at the added cost to get functionality, but the company's response to my problems has left me legitimately "wowed" and willing to continue to take this journey with them.I will post extra updates as things continue to develop.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Really wanted to like the XT2 based on price, ease of use, no ongoing fees, etc., but it's mostly been a dud so far. Live view almost never works, motion detection seems to not pick up on things when armed, and it can barely obtain two bars on internet connection when my phone (and any other device I've tried) gets almost full bars in the same area. I should also add that there's very small that makes it clear in advance that the cameras need to not only have amazing reception with the sync module, but also your wi-fi (Which makes the point of the sync module what, again?). I have ordered a range extender (additional cost) to see if I can resolve it, but I'm not hopeful based on other devices doing just fine in that area. Makes it particularly doubtful that this thing could handle extra cameras, when it can't seem to deal with one. Unless there are some firmware updates coming that create any of this better, I cannot recommend the Blink XT2 and am considering this a $100 lesson learned.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

UPDATE: I feel like I owe it to this company to modernize my review. They have without question, been improving the product - across the board. Video quality, trigger time...not there yet with distance but with how quick they are improving - I suspect they will obtain there soon. Also, the CEO sent emails around to connect with his patrons to allow them know they are working on it AND sent me an extra Blink as a courtesy. They are mindful and I sincerely appreciate that. I hope to modernize this again from 3 stars to 5.OLD Review Below:Adding some more disappointing tips...the application is so busy, it can be disorienting. Not designed very intuitive, you can't control the storage. But the MOST annoying factor is the trigger - there is a 10 second pause after it stops. So if someone activates it by throwing something at it, they know they have a 10 second window minimally to then pass the camera without being caught. I got this to watch my cat while I'm at work to create sure he's safe coming and going and literally can't see him because of this delay. Below is my initial experience:POS. The serial numbers don’t register, you sit on keep for customer service for what says one min then jumps to 17 mins, then it looks like it connects only to obtain radio silence. Then I obtain someone - and they use a POS phone system that you can’t hear yourself a favor and obtain NEST. This is an amateur product. Ugh. 👎👎👎

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

I have been using Blink since it was a kickstarter company. The evolution of the product has been really solid. However, if your expecting to have true time surveillance this is not your product. First off allow say setup is a snap as long as you follow the direction, something to remember the cameras connect to the WiFi and the sync module, the sync module placement is important. I recognize the camera now supports 2 method audio but I don’t see how that will work since typically you are notified after the video is made. The only method I see the 2 method working is if you had the application begin and you were actively looking at the video when the happening happened. That said for what it does do in recording happenings is excellent. The video looks good, and the night time infrared is good. Also, you can’t beat the free storage, and as for battery life they sure have come a long method that said remember to always use the lithium-ion batteries, they recommend by blink also remember that batteries are at there weakest when it is cold out. So to be clear about battery life, I have yet to have a camera’s batteries latest 2 years. I now have a total of 3 cameras working all XT or XT2 and work they well for for my expectation. I have 3 more XT2 cameras coming I’ll modernize this review once those have been configured and and if things improve or go bad. I hope that with the 2 method Blink/amazon will have the application notify you as soon as motion is directed so you can take advantage of the mic.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

I don't know what the saying is about fool me once and fool me twice but I and the victim of whatever that saying is.I ordered this system for myself about a week ago. The Blink XT2 three camera system. I am not allowed to post two seperate reviews for both the 2 and 3 camera Blink XT2 systems so this review will apply to both. With the first 3 camera system I purchased latest week for myself, I had SO a lot of issues that I processed a return literally about 4 hours after I keep it. I decided a couple days later to order a two camera system for my mom. Why you ask? Because where she lives is a medium sized apartment that would require only minimal technology for a security camera. I thought perhaps this inferior syetem would suffice. Well I couldnt have been more wrong. This Blink XT2 junk of product was just as poor if not worse when I received it and hooked it up at my my own place. Only the 2 camera system I purchased for my mom has a MAJOR major delay in live mode. A full 17 seconds when using live view. Both cameras and the transmitter are all within 10 feet of each other. Sometimes the microphone worked sometimes it didn't. But the video lagged each and every time for 15 to 17 seconds. I'm talking about in live view. I'm not even talking about using the sensor. I even tried the camera system and the Blink application on my mom's phone as well as my private phone which is a Samsung S9 plus. Issues on both So it has nothing to do with phone processors, memory or anything else. I've been seeing people post comments on here saying that the owner or someone claiming to be the owner of Blink XT2 has reached out to them. Allow me tell you something, if you are the owner reading this message. I don't know how you swindled Amazon to represent this product but kudos to your sales technique. Because this is truly a waste of every single dollar spent. The system that I received for my mom, I received about two hours ago. I am processing f return immediately after I complete this review. Every attempt to use both the 2 camera and the 3 camera system has been a waste of time. I'm going to guess that the owner or inventor or whoever of This Blink xt2, did whatever they required to do to manufacture the cheapest product possible. I am disgusted with the performance of these cameras. There is nothing redeeming about them. I cannot express to anyone who reads this review enough. Absolutely, DO NOT BUY the Blink Xt2. It is less than garbage.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

UPDATE (8/4/2019):After some latest system updates, I have found that the 5 sec video may not be accessible until after someone has left the area. It was not that snappy before, but now it seems to be slower in accessing the video from my ditionally, I have had packages place on my front deck / steps that is 10 feet away from my front door and the Blink XT2 camera, but the video was never triggered. The Blink is aimed in that direction. So I have changed the sensitivity from 5 to 9, the highest. Also, I have changed the clip length to 10 seconds. We shall see how this nce I have had the Blink XT2 less than a week, I will modernize when I know more about how long the batteries THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING the application first. Once the application is downloaded, it will prompt you as to what has to be done. Use the device to take a image of (read) the camera’s ID (QR code) OR enter the Serial Number the camera - Remove the back cover by holding down the gray ‘button’ while pulling the bottom of the back cover away from the camera body. It has a rubber or silicone gasket in the groove around the cover. Because it has a friction fit, it can be difficult to pry off the cover. I could place a small lube on the sealing gasket, but it might cause issues if it reacts with either the plastic or the l synching has to be done while the camera is open, then it is place together before mounting it. The Sync module has to remain plugged into an AC outlet, so search a convenient put for the module to rest or e back cover is replaced by pressing it firmly where the posts are located until a ‘click’ is heard near each corner.I used the base of the mount to locate and drill 2 little holes in the wood. Then I place the screws into the mount and the base and attached the mount to the house. After the base is attached, the cam is pressed onto the mount. That was the hard e mount attaches to the hole in the back cover by pressing the assembled camera onto the mount. This should be done after the mount is attached to the desired zone using the two screws included.I had installed the camera as high as I could above my front door. Most of the videos showed the top of my head, nothing as to identifying me from my face. So I thought I would move it a small lower, still above the door; and as I turned the camera so I could use a long screwdriver to remove the screws, it came off the mount and fell onto the floor. Apparently, it suffered no ill effects. Perhaps the very warm temperatures created the plastic loose enough for it to come off easily. I would like to have a more secure mounting system. I have ordered a mount that has a cover to keep Blink XT2 bottom of the Home screen of the app, be sure to slide the switch so that it says Armed.Had to go into settings (not labeled as that) and ENABLE motion sensor. On the Home screen of the app, the serial number of the camera is printed less than halfway down and on the left. On the right side, a symbol of three lines appears. Press this and it opens Camera Settings. This is where Enable is located for MOTION e video length can be set but the default is 5 seconds. It can be turned on for Live View which is almost continuous recording. In the next week, I will attempt to “see” what is event at my front door. I am hoping there will be no issue getting notifications when someone comes to my front door.UPDATED AFTER USING A FEW DAYS:In a zone that has no Wi-Fi access and spotty cell coverage, I was able to view the delivery person bringing my pack to my e mount I ordered is a two-piece plastic enclosure that is attached to an aluminum base that is attached to the wall using 3 screws. First I drilled 3 pilot holes (5/64" drill bit) for the screws. They were tightened using a manual screwdriver so the aluminum would not crack. I plugged the hole on the bottom of the case where the USB cable could be used to charge rechargeable batteries. The foam that is used to pack the Blink is too dense and stiff, so I used some closed-cell foam that came with another product.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

Original review after 5 days (May 28):One out of two cameras has a little issue - the rubber piece in the center of back cover is broken out of the box. A call to customer service solve the issue - they sent me a replacement. Used the two cameras for five days so far, I will give it 3 stars at the moment. The set up was beautiful easy, took me about 15 minutes to obtain both working. The connection to WiFi is not very powerful although close to a range extender but the cameras seem working fine. The quality of the videos are OK, cannot identify vehicle plate numbers easily if the vehicle is moving. My wife drove her vehicle from road into garage at 2-3 miles per hour, the plate is not readable. Still need to see the battery life, but I don't really care about 2 years or 6 months as long as I don't have to change battery every month like my Ring door bell.Updated review after 4 weeks (June 20):Range issue: Each individual camera needs to connect to both the Sync Module and WiFi and each camera gets WiFi SSID and password from the Sync Module, which means Sync Module and each individual camera have to connect to the same WiFi or at least WiFis with same SSID and password. In my case, I have a 2-camera set, one in the front of my house and one in the back of the house. I have to place my Sync Module in the middle of my house so that both cameras can connect to it with reasonable signal strength. The Sync Module connect to my router with amazing signal, but not the cameras. Then I place in two WiFi extenders with one close to each camera and both extenders use same SSID and password. Now both cameras have amazing connections to both Sync Module and WiFi, but what a complicated setup!Sensitivity Issue: The cameras seem to be anywhere between way-too-sensitive to way-too-insensitivity randomly. They can be triggered by flies or be triggered 10 times within 3 mins by some not-in-the-active-zone activities; or they may decide not to see anything for several hours to anything even just right in front of cond modernize on July 5:Using multiple extenders with same SSIDs and passwords is not a amazing solution which makes the entire WiFi at my home unstable. Now I had to invest a whole fresh mesh WiFi system. Everything works amazing now, but Blink XT2 is not impressive.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-27 18:2

The product and the concept are nice, but the shortcomings on this device create it unusable. I cannot obtain a powerful enough connection with the router that is 17 feet away. No other device has an problem from this distance yet this camera is unusable from this range. Without the powerful wireless connection connection, i cannot obtain any view from the app. Also, I have motion set to on, yet it never triggers to record anything. IDK if this is because there is no wifi, but I would think at least a snapshot could obtain through. Not remotely close to what is advertised on this site. Furthermore, I received my unit on May 13th, I immediately came back to Amazon to check reviews to see if others were having an issue. Amazon blocked all reviews until the 27th while orders were still being fulfilled. Everyone who purchased this fed into the scam from blink. Not allowing reviews two weeks after I have received my product, yet still promoting the device on the home page while it looks as if customer help for both Amazon and Blink were very busy with these units. Shame.

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Ugh. 👎👎👎

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 3 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-3 18:0

Overall: Amazing cameras for the price, relatively simple setup, practical wireless distance is well under 50 that wasn't clear: - The cameras connect to the sync module AND wireless connection and need amazing connections to both. - Camera wireless connection and sync module wireless connection connections are one setting (must be on the same network). - In the blink App, camera settings, at the bottom is "Status" which shows connection strength to wireless connection and sync module - The range is nowhere near 100 feet for sync module - Camera Wireless connection receiving ability is weakPros - - Ability to add zones a nice make batter from the first generation (however, seems to only work part of the time - see cons). - Decent arm/disarm ability to turn on motion sensors and alerts through Alexa (Can't add skill to routine, though - so you can't turn on Amazon Guard, lock all the doors, and turn on the Blink cameras with one command.) - Beautiful amazing photo quality, especially for wireless color cameras - Price point for what it does, even with its faults. With some improvements it would be an awesome deal, as-is it's an OK deal. - Relatively quick activation onto fresh firestick/tv using Alexa. If firestick/tv is on, "Show me the front porch" comes on in less than 10 seconds. (problems with application disconnecting - see cons) - Blink application is simple to use, intuitive. - Setup is simple (unless you wish to experiment with various routers, sync module placement)Cons - - Range to connect to wireless connection and sync module extremely lacking. (see Sync Distance below) - Location mapping is unreliable, often triggering based on movement in 'inactive' zones. - Blink for home application disconnects from Alexa. About every 24 hours, you have to completely re-enable the Alexa skill "blink for home". After 24 hours, it's like you never set it up to start with. Wish to see the cameras on your fire television or arm the system? Better search the skill, login to blink, wait to sync, enable the skill, etc. Every. Day. This makes Alexa integration practically worthless. - No ability to save still photos to camera roll in Blink App. You can record videos, save them to the cloud, and download to your phone. And, you can take still photos, but it's just a little snapshot. You can't save to the cloud, your phone, etc. It's essentially a thumbnail modernize feature but should be a still-image option. - Blink system does not work with older Firestick models. - No simple method to monitor cameras via pc/computer. Blink says no capability, but there is a chrome plugin that spoofs an android device phone and you can install the application (allegedly - I haven't tried) - Changing wireless connection settings for the cameras (to test various networks) you need to have the back off the camera and scan a QR code or type in a long serial number. - Updating motion zones takes a few mins to work. A few recordings may be triggered even after you modernize zones, but it eventually stops after a few minutes. - Extra sync module is $50. To place the cameras where I really wish (and within 100 feet) I would need three total. Instead, I had to compromise to closer nc Distance - I have a router and the sync module in a window, and max reception is about 35 feet. You practically need to have the router and the sync module in the room just inside where you wish to mount the camera. - Through a window, sync module and wireless connection at 65 feet could not connect. - 100 feet is a fantasy for these 'wireless outdoor' cameras. If your wireless connection and sync module is indoors (most applications), even a single wall or window limits connection distance. - Camera wireless connection receiving: Three bars and solid download speed on my iPhone or laptop, but at the same distance, the camera wireless connection is rated a 2 of 5 and shows 'red' low signal.Wishlist - Eliminate the need for a sync module, build into the camera - even at the expense of battery life. Boosting wireless connection signal throughout home and property is much easier, especially considering the limited range of the sync console. - Offer white case outdoor version. Covers work OK but not ideal and could still be less conspicuous around white trim.

Ugh. 👎👎👎

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-5 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-5 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-5 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-5 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-12-5 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 1 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

Shame.

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

Ugh. 👎👎👎

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

All-new Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – 5 camera kit review [Book]  2019-11-21 18:1

Ugh. 👎👎👎

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – Add-on camera for existing Blink customers review [Book]  2019-11-28 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – Add-on camera for existing Blink customers review [Book]  2019-11-28 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – Add-on camera for existing Blink customers review [Book]  2019-11-28 18:1

Blink XT2 Outdoor/Indoor Smart Security Camera with cloud storage included, 2-way audio, 2-year battery life – Add-on camera for existing Blink customers review [Book]  2019-11-28 18:1

Shame.

The application sucks for Android. The preview screen shows little windows instead of the larger ones in the application screenshots. You cant create changes to the cameras thru the app, it all has to be done from the dvr box. Even still, you can set dimensions that set off the alarm but you cant have various sensitivity levels on one camera. Or set the camera to send various alarms depending on where the motion was sensed. Its a beautiful primary system. I wouldnt have bought it if I knew all that I know now.

This application is so poor they have to fake reviews on it to create it look good. Look for yourself. Set reviews to present up most latest first. Litterally after each poor review there are like 5 5 star reviews in a row. Most saying nothing. Some saying amazing app. No info on why its great. Usually only has 2 words in the posative reviews but most 5 star reviews are blank and come in waves of like 3 to 5... same day as the poor reviews probably within minutes.. cant wait to see the instant 5 star reviews after i hit submit right now

** Obtain full access and remote control of all camera functions at your fingertips. NO IT DOESN'T!** It just doesn't do anything remotely useful on Android device except tell me error messages, loses my fingerprint log in and other passwords. Seriously would be worth 5 stars IF the Android device application is drastically improved!

C2mini camera with Application has some problems, when sleep mode camera is powered off then powered on you can't wake up camera till restart manually camera and reconnect to Wi-Fi as fresh attached. And suggestions to create one button for sleep all camera and wake up all, because currently in application you have to turn on sleep mode one by one and wake them up one by one it is not convenient if you have 6-10 cameras.....Thanks.

Product would not install. Application wad minimally functional. Most of the problem was on the part of the hardware. Software was, however, not helpful in the process.
