    Really attractive and inspiring. It's organized by the seasons with clean recipes, descriptions of beautifying foods, and skin health and beauty tips. A small more dairy (cheese) than I would like but that can be modified. Love it!

    A gorgeous, informative book that makes me feel attractive just 'looking' at it! Very well written and informative, I can well see why even Victoria Beckham recommends and loves this book. You will feel highly inspired to cook and eat more natural foods just perusing through this; it is broken up into sections going by the seasons, the foods that are shown highlight what health benefits they keep along with recipes. The images are just as inspiring. I believe this may be one of my favorite health/beauty books, a must for any health conscious female!

    Attractive book! I absolutely love this cook book and this is the only book I hold returning to for recipes and I love how she breaks it up by seasons. The pics are attractive and the recipes are amazing. Highly recommend this book!

    This is great, informative book with lots of fairly simple recipes. The only drawback is the author uses meat/chicken/cream. I don't consume animal products but realize most people do. Other than that it is a lovely book !

    I love the healthy recipes and hints for attractive skin and overall health. I bought several copies to give as gifts. My only concern is that the box nearly broke begin upon delivery since there were several books in one box and not packed very securely. I was very lucky that none of the books were damaged or they would have been returned.

    I am always trying to search fresh ways to avoid over-processed, chemical-laden foods. This book has some amazing hints to obtain back on track. It’s packed full of good, clean, healthy recipes—one for every single day of the year. But the best thing is that this isn’t a bunch of bland tofu recipes, but some terrific, tasty dishes and treats that will quench that craving for sweets. The book is organized and broken into sections that contain dinner, dessert, and lunch recipes. I appreciated that these healthful dishes didn’t contain any hard-to-find or exotic ingredients—everything is easily accessible at your local supermarket or organic meal store. Plus, each dish also contains a breakdown of calories, proteins, fat, and carbs, which makes counting calories, etc. much easier. This is the best method to obtain back on track with your eating without feeling like you’re starving to death. Be happy while getting your health and your body back!

    Some very interesting and fresh recipes. I've already tried a few and enjoyed them greatly. I appreciate how the author contains healthy dishes but most do not contain very expensive ingredients. I especially loved the chia chocolate pudding. A surprising winner. Also the other uses for quinoa- I was tired of the same tried but real recipes I've used before. This book inspired me to use test various uses and experiment on my own. A amazing book!

    For a $6 book, this one is good. I bought it for some additional recipes for use on the Whole 30 plan. Here are some pros and cons I found...Pros - recipes are simple to follow, amazing for beginners & those with more cooking experience, lots of choices, the drink section has lots of ideas and alternatives for those of us hooked on soda and I appreciate the alternatives. I know putting fruit into water isn't a fresh idea but when you're used to popping soda cans all day long, it's refreshing to have lots of fresh ideas. I love the method it's broken up into breakfast, lunch and dinner. Recipes can fit with Whole ns - I bought this book because it had slow cooker recipes but they were very disappointing. All 10 recipes are for stew and that's it. There's beef stews, chicken stew, pork stews, fish stew, oxtail stew, and veal stew. Nothing else! This was my largest complaint. I love my slow cooker and I know it makes more than stew!

    This is the kind of diet I've been looking for. I tried other diet programs before, but I always end up starving myself. This is a amazing tutorial and cookbook. The whole30 diet challenge you to replace all the processed foods with whole ones for 30 days. The recipes here don't leave you hanging. It has the everyday meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. I might test this 30-day challenge. I am so excited for the results. This book is worth reading.

    I wouldn't recommend this. In fact I tried to give it away and couldn't. The recipes aren't good. No one wants to be that deprived even for a month. There's too a lot of smoothies and the whole thing just really mirrors a juicing diet/cleanse that my mom did in the 90s.

    This was a nice book with everything in one place. Thirty days of recipes (breakfast, lunch, dinner). The recipes use fairly common stuff so you don't have to find all over to search an ingredient. They're also simple and fast to make...you don't have to be a chef, amazing for inexperienced cooks. Nice gift in the back of the book are do at home exercises that require minimal e one suggestion I'd create is there should be a section of healthy snacks in case you need something to carry you over to the next meal.

    The theme of the book fits in greatly with my busy life.We live in an era where the processed foods triumph over healthy foods. I am not going to lie. Yes, I opt to eat/use processed foods in my cooking because it is darn easy to do so.I obtain intimidated and usually pass on cookbooks when the recipes are too difficult to follow but this book got my attention. The Whole Foods book introduces healthy recipes in a easy method which I so, the everyday workout to go with the food plan is great. I appreciate the 3 levels of workout instructions. I will be starting The Whole Foods regime to begin a healthy finitely reccomend this book!

    I just bought this and the whole concept is very intriguing. It doesn’t just tell me what I should eat, it gives me thirty days of three meals a day, all planned out with recipes to boot. It shows you the right method to obtain healthy. I’m having some problem figuring out the measurements, but that’s my only complaint. One trip to the grocery and I’m ready to start. Love it. I’m gladly giving this review.

    This book gives a list of three meals a day for thirty days. At the end of the book there is a thirty day schedule for exercises. The exercises are fully explained with pictures. The table of contents provide an index of recipes. The ingredients seem to be common stuff easily found in supermarkets. This will be a amazing book for all cooks but especially the health conscious.

    This book is awesome!! Whether you are going to use this for the diet or just to have fun using the recipes, it's a win-win either way!! I liked the idea that the ingredients used were stuff I would have on hand and not those that I would have to go purchase before making the recipes.     I got my copy in advance before it was available to the public. A superbly well written book with simple and concise directions. The Recipes are easy and tasty. I am in the process of changing my eating habits and this is a amazing method to start. The days are sectioned for you and that makes its simple to know what is required exactly and the amount of time you will need to have in advance.     I'm a busy working professional that has small prep time for meals. I like this book because it gives 30 days worth of food prep and exercise to help with weight loss and control. Over the past few years I got in the habit of eating out and not eating in. The largest draw back is the time spent putting things together after a long day at work. I hope to be able the shed a few pounds and be healthier. Katie' s book reminds me a lot of the Pritikim diet the meal we eat should be in its must natural form to benefit us.

    The good: This book includes attractive images of a few recipes and a number of the recipes seem very tasty and relatively simple to prepare. The layout is a small unusual with the recipe instructions before the list ingredients. I actually found this refreshing as it encourages you to read the instructions before grabbing ingredients and diving into the e exercises in the second half of the book are described well and are simple to do at home without extra equipment. I really appreciate this, as you can obtain started right away. Each exercise has a image to accompany the explanation. The exercises are nothing revolutionary but it's kind of nice to have an exercise plan to follow and the 30-day program seems well-balanced with regard to lower-body exercises one day and upper body the next e bad: Some recipes call for ingredients which are only used once and which may be difficult to get (fresh passion fruit, rice flour, young barley). The recipes also refer to ingredients like "Maracuya" and "oat flakes" which, while it's not difficult to do a web find and search out what those ingredients are, it would have been nice to have the alternate names (passion fruit, rolled oats) in the recipe ven that it's labelled as a 30 day weight loss challenge, I would have appreciated an organized shopping list for each week, much like there's an exercise plan for each st troubling, there are quite a number of editing errors in the book, mostly of a grammatical nature, although at least one recipe has the wrong title (the gluten free pancakes). There's also a slight unnatural-sounding style in the writing which makes seem as if it were poorly translated from another language.Overall it's probably worth the little amount of cash you'd pay to have some fresh whole-foods based recipe ideas and a amazing selection of body-weight exercises, but I don't think I'll be making much use of this book past my initial reading of it.I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

    I just bought this and the whole concept is very intriguing. It doesn’t just tell me what I should eat, it gives me thirty days of three meals a day, all planned out with recipes to boot. It shows you the right method to obtain healthy. I’m having some problem figuring out the measurements, but that’s my only complaint. One trip to the grocery and I’m ready to start. Love it. I’m gladly giving this review.

    This was a nice book with everything in one place. Thirty days of recipes (breakfast, lunch, dinner). The recipes use fairly common stuff so you don't have to find all over to search an ingredient. They're also simple and fast to make...you don't have to be a chef, amazing for inexperienced cooks. Nice gift in the back of the book are do at home exercises that require minimal e one suggestion I'd create is there should be a section of healthy snacks in case you need something to carry you over to the next meal.

    Katie has place together a amazing book. She is encouraging and has a friendly tone. Every day has three recipes to support you learn to cook healthy and whole food. I had two stumbling points:1. This book is laid out for physical print, as the everyday exercises are in the back of the book, not integrated with an appendix for directions.2. The recipes were fresh to me, so I spent time wondering where I would search certain ingredients.I think this book is written for someone who is already on the diet and bored with their meal options, ready to learn fresh recipes.

    I really like this book and how it lays out each day's meals. Images are always nice in a cookbook. I like to see if my food looks anything near what it's supposed to look like. The only thing I wasn't crazy about, and it's my complaint about a lot of food plans, is there is not accounting for leftovers. I work. I do not have the time, nor the energy to cook every single evening after I obtain home from work. I have to create each day's breakfast, lunch and dinners. Other than that, the meal is delish, and the recipes are simple enough to anks Katie!

    This book is an simple method to plan a month worth of meals. They meals looked simple and fun to prepare and eat. I would recommend this book if someone wanted to transition to healthy eating and they weren't on the Whole30 program. They recipes are not Whole30 compliant but, the book is an simple method to begin eating healthier. I had problem with the print on some of the exercises pages. I couldn't read them because they would not change front size on my kindle. Most of the book I could change the size of the font and could read the book fine but, the exercises pages outlined for each week were such little print, they were unreadable. I also found some errors in the book that I believe should have been caught when it was proofread. All in all, I think it is a very simple book to read and use and it would create eating healthy much easier than trying to figure it out on your own. The recipes are all right there.

    This book is simple to use and is very practical. Most of the ingredients are simple to search and are not ones I would have thought to combine by myself. I also like that a few recipes use the same ingredients so I am not running all over city to create all the fresh recipes, especially with the seasonings and spices used. I dread those recipes that call for such obscure ingredients that I will only use them for one or two recipes! The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars is that I prefer cookbooks with a image for every recipe. I am visually-driven and often only choose recipes that contain a image since I cannot easily imagine if I'd like something from the ingredients alone.

    Yes. That Chrissy phrase review of this cookbook: Shockingly FantasticLike, shocked shocked. Stunned. Surprised. Unexpected feelings.Ok, composing self to write actual sentences.I fully expected to hate-read this cookbook. Sure, I have fun a lot of Chrissy Teigen's tweets. She's that rare popular person who makes themselves extremely publicly accessible, but in an actual authentic way. Her online presence doesn't appear to be artfully constructed by a PR firm. She replies to trolls. She talks about buying giant bear stuffed animals from shopping TV. She talks about her husband in a normal, loving, supportive way. She's a reminder that yes, celebrity is another plane of existence, but, it's still a career, and she's still a human being.I knew that she enjoyed cooking. Or, well, attempted a lot of cooking. Her twitter feed includes a lot of posts about failed attempts in the kitchen. It led me to believe Teigen tried to create a lot of food, but that it probably turned out kinda terribly most of the time. So, I selected this cookbook to review just to see what a mess it would be. This celebrity trying to be all cookbook-ey. I expected one of those books with a "If you're a super rich person like me, you can have your housekeeper create you gluten-free llama milk infused baby kangaroo burgers too" tone. I promised I would give a recipe or two a try, but that I was probably going to pass this book along to someone else for their amusement.Anyway.I. Was. is cookbook is e recipes? They're GREAT. Accessible. Unique, but familiar. Delicious. Unpretentious. Tasty. Good. Yummy. Things I will create again. Dare I say, some fresh favorites even?Wow. It's just so good. Five star rating worthy. A book deserving of early admission to Food52's Piglet 2017 competition (even though it does not have the pedigree of the usual entrants).Enough about my surprise about this book. Let's talk about the book itself and why I love it, why I think you might like st importantly: The recipesAs I do with most cookbooks where I begin to see a recipe or two, or three, early in the book that I wish to make. I started a list. All the recipes I wish to try. Maybe not today, but someday. So, I started that list in the breakfast section. That Dutch Baby Pancake looks tasty. Crab Cakes Benedict - wow, I think I could create this. Bacon Hash Browns? Sign me up. I kept going. Soup. Salads. Noodles. Thai. Party. Vegetables. Supper (this one was hard - my parents call it supper - I don't - it'd dinner - but... I allow it go). My list had 53 recipes on it. 53. The book only has 95-ish or so recipes, and I wish to create over half of them. That's an wonderful , how does this recipes perform in practice? Will our three-and-a-half year old eat them? Are the ingredient lists accurate? Do the steps create sense? Does this feel like a well-tested recipe?Dutch Baby Pancake: Super simple to make. Beautifully random squiggly rise in the oven. Delicious. Six thumbs up. Kid/bb Salad with Honey Mustard Ranch Dressing: An actual text I sent to my wife: "&^%$, this is a amazing salad". The seasoning on the chicken was fantastic. Just spicy enough to obtain a bunch of flavor out without passing toddler-acceptable levels. The charred corn was super tasty. The dressing. THAT dressing! The hard boiled eggs. That our toddler ate. That she had never eaten before. The combination. This was one of the best salads I have ever eaten, much less prepared (there are a lot of steps with this one, and there's a whole bunch of chopping, but it's an extremely well-written recipe). Family Favorite List ame Chicken Noodles: This is a really well-constructed recipe (you use the same water you boil the chicken in to cook the pasta). It's also really really really good. The sesame-based sauce for the noodles is lick your fingers tasty. The recipe says it serves 4 as a light dinner. Our 2.25 diners licked the pot alian Sausage Meatloaf: This is a really amazing recipe - adding Italian Sausage to meatloaf is brilliant - but I screwed it up a little. I tried to create it on a solo parent weeknight, so I rushed a small and didn't mix it up as fully as I should have which led to some mushy breadcrumb only sections. It also required more time in the oven than the recipe's "about 1 hour" step. That seems to be common with my recent meatloaf cookery though, so it's not a fault of Chrissy's. My minor similar suggestion here though would be to add a "cook to XXX degrees" step. Overall, this turned out amazing tasting and I would create it again. On a weekend. When I can give it the proper llet-charred Fish Tacos: Five stars. These were just phenomenal. The spice rub for the tilapia was great. The toddler loved the fish. Kelley loved the tacos. I loved the tacos. I ate fish taco leftovers the next day. We'll create this again. Probably terally Stovetop Pork Chops: We don't usually bread our pork chops. I've certainly never thought, "Hey, maybe let's obtain some Stovetop Stuffing mix and bread our pork chops with that." But, that's what this recipe calls for. And, well, I mean, broken record here, but, it's delicious. It's so amazing that when I asked our daughter a week later what she wanted for dinner, she said, "Hmmm.... Pork Chops!"Pad Grapow Chicken (Basil Chicken): This recipe is from the little "Thai Mom" section of the cookbook and it makes me kinda hope for a future Thai Mom specific book. I'm a huge fan of Thai food. Kelley is a huge fan of Thai food. Our daughter doesn't know a lot about specific International cuisines yet. This recipe was soooooo good. I wish to create it again with basil new from the garden, because it was delicious with shop bought stuff, but I think it would be heavenly with some leaves pulled new from the stalk.Buttery Glazed Green Beans: On to a vegetable. A side dish. A easy combination of sugar and water and green beans and butter. Simple recipe, great, slightly crispy green beans.Warm Corn Salad: This is actually a component of the Seared Scallops recipe that I wanted to make, but couldn't search the right scallops for, so we pivoted and had Sole instead. But, I still create the corn salad. And I'm glad I did. In fact, even my not-really-that-big-of-a-fan-of-corn spouse said, "This salad is really good, I like how this corn is made." So, yeah, approved.A couple of other review e organization of the book is nice. I like having the breakfast versus salad versus noodles versus dinner type sections. I do think she got a small too cutesy with the "@*#$& on Toast" and "Stuff that Seems Complicated But Isn't" sections. I obtain it, I just don't think it was e recipe introductions are right in line with the tone of Chrissy Teigen. A small snarky, a small heartfelt, a lot personal. I like hearing about the background of the recipes. The items that reminds her of her mom, or her dad, or that thing that John Legend created that everyone loves. I also like the humor. But. In little doses. If you love love love all of of Chrissy Teigen's tweets, then by all means, sit down and read this cookbook cover-to-cover. You'll love it. On the other hand, if you just like her sense of humor, I might recommend reading the book in little portions. I search that for me, a little dose of Teigen goes a long way. In no method does this detract from the greatness of the meal you will create based on this book, but just be forewarned.Overall, I really really like this cookbook. At first I thought it was just because it exceeded my expectations so greatly, but after further analysis, I think it's because it includes really delicious recipes, the recipes themselves are very well-written, and it's obvious that the recipes have been well-tested. I could cook exclusively from this book for a month and we'd be satisfied should definitely buy this book if you're a large fan of Chrissy Teigen. But, surprisingly, you should also buy this book if you simply love amazing food.I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

    I got this book for Christmas, along with 6 others. I was a small skeptical since it’s a celebrity cookbook. A month later, I am reaching for this book almost exclusively over my other fresh ones. Everything I’ve created [email protected]#$%! it out of the park. I’ve cooked 15 things in here so far. These are truly delicious recipes. I’m a very experienced home cook, but even for those with less experience, these recipes are manageable. I laughed a bit at some of the modelesque images of Chrissy (not that she doesn’t look amazing) because I rarely see that in a cookbook. At least the ones I own. The meal photography is gorgeous. I’m wondering how she maintains her figure if she eats like this very often. The recipes aren’t healthy by any stretch, but I think that is fairly clear in the book description. Know this isn’t a diet book. It’s called “Cravings” for a reason! On the negative side, some of the ingredients in the Thai section may be hard to search if you live in a smaller area. The ingredient lists are fairly long, and I feel like the recipes take a bit longer to prepare than the recipe states, so just know that. Might not be what you reach for if you wish a fast weeknight meal. There are no dessert recipes in this book, which is kind of a bummer. The print is very small, but that’s just y the biscuits and gravy recipe! There isn’t much fresh to be brought to biscuits and gravy, but her maple cream takes it to a whole other level. I had never heard of or tasted Pad Grapow, but I created it latest night. So good! I love being introduced to fresh things. I feel like a lot of of the recipes in here are things most people will have tried in some iteration, myself included. In my case however, most of the things in the Thai section are fresh to me, and I can’t wait to test everything in it! Thanks for introducing Sambal Olek into my life Chrissy! is book was the one I was least excited to use out of the ones I received for Christmas, but it’s the one I like the most! I really do love this book. Would recommend to anyone, or buy as a bonus for someone else! This book exceeded my expectations by a long shot.I hope she comes out with another book, and I would love a dessert section.

If you are a cook, adapt recipes to suit you and have a sense of humor. This is a special and fun cookbook. Breakfast recipes are all interesting and delicious.

    Every single thing in this cookbook looks delicious! Honestly, it does. The recipes are not "healthy" or "light." It's not what you would expect from a supermodel! But she explains how she wants every single bite she eats to be delicious, and all of these recipes fit the bill. Her spunky attitude shines throughout the entire book, making it also a fun read and not just a cookbook. I am a cookbook collector/obsessor, and I can tell this will become one of my all tie favorites! I literally can't wait to begin cooking!!Since purchasing I have cooked the following recipes:-Capon's Chrissy Burger-John's Crispy Roasted Potatoes-Chinese Chicken Salad-Lemony Arugula Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe-Sweet Chili & Mustard Glazed Salmon-Thai Pounded Papaya Salad-Grilled Garlic Soy Shrimp-Chicken Lettuce Wraps (served over rice)-Pad Grapow Chicken (Basil Chicken)-Roasted Cauliflower, Orzo & Feta Salad-Sriracha Caesar Salad (with added chicken)-Chipotle Honey ChickenAll but one were really good! The way of roasting the potatoes created them much crispier than usual. I would create everything again except the glazed salmon. The way of cooking didn't turn out well, and I wasn't crazy about the sauce. I created the papaya salad with spiralized cucumber (as a suggestion in the recipe intro) and it was good, but I would probably leave the fish sauce out as it was too powerful for me. But the Cacio e Pepe--SO GOOD!! I would create this everyday. The sriracha Caesar was really thick--I wonder if subbing a few tablespoons of buttermilk for some mayo would help. Still good! But the small garlic toasts were too salty. Less salt next time

    I love this book! As soon as I got it I started cooking the recipes. Some are beautiful easy and common recipes, but there are others that have become staples. I love her small stories for each recipe and its simple to create it your own, adding or substituting any ingredients. I still use this book and I create notes on the ones I use, any subs, or additions. I really love that anyone can do theses recipes, this is a amazing starter recipe book for anyone wanting to learn to cook, or obtain back into making homemade meals. They vary from hearty breakfast meals, salads, soups, Thai food, and a couple of John's recipes. Im looking forward to her second book right now.

    Ok, so I am a picky eater…and when I say picky, I mean picky. I’d prefer to only have children menus at restaurants. I purchased this cookbook mainly because I think Chrissy Teigen is hilarious, and I was hopeful that I might search a recipe or two that I’d like. Usually, when I obtain a fresh cookbook, there are a couple of recipes that are decent, but none that I am *dying* to make. Well, after my first run-through of Cravings, there are 37 recipes that I have marked to make, and I wish to create and eat them ALL RIGHT NOW. Yall, for me this is huge! Other than the awesome recipes, the book itself is amazing – attractive pictures and funny anecdotes to begin each recipe. I can’t say enough amazing things about this cookbook – shame on me for waiting so long to order it and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

    I cannot explain how awesome this cookbook is. I used to strictly use Pinterest for recipes, but no more. Everything I have created in this cookbook thus far is HANDS DOWN better tasting (and often easier!) than recipes I've found on the internet.Example: I created the drunken noodles latest night, and it's easily the only noodle dish I've created that tastes like actual take out (and I have been trying to excellent authentic Pad Thai for a LONG time). It tastes even better as leftovers as I sit here and write this review.Other recipes I've created and would recommend:- Creamy Parmesan Skillet Eggs (EASY and delicious-Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (a reviewer favorite it seems, also EASY)- Chipotle Honey Chicken with mango-avocado salsaI know I haven't tried a lot of of them yet but it doesn't take me long to realize when I have the best cookbook on earth and have to tell everyone about it!

    I love it. My partner (secretly) enjoyed it. It's a very use-able recipe book, as in, no-overly complicated recipes, no-never-heard-of-ingredients. She's got classic American, Italian and Italian-esque and some Asian/Thai recipes. Fabulous looking photos, simple to follow instructions. Read it cover to cover. Amazing book to purchase if you:1. Are looking for a easy cookbook for everyday/maybe a unique weekend cooking.2. Love Chrissy Teigen's sense of humor (which I do). Her enthusiasm and passion is probably one of the main reasons why the recipes are so tempting. Her descriptions are so (hilariously) joyous that you can't wait to test all the recipes. Chrissy, like Nigella, makes cooking sexy but in a goofy way.3. Love John Legend (which I do). Nothing to do with recipe/cooking but sure is a nice to have gift images of them n't wait for her next cookbook!

    I've lost 299 pounds and I'm currently in a successful maintenance mode. I eat well--and only things I truly enjoy, but my largest challenge has been increasing the dozens of my choices. Enter Joy Bauer's recent book--and wow, here's the dozens I was looking for in my meal plan. Joy's meal philosophy as it applies to weight loss and simply taking better care, in general, mirrors not just my thoughts--it mirrors my experience. Joy is spot on. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from her work! Create it easy, create it healthier, create it taste incredible--and I'm there, every time. And that's exactly what she does with this e first recipe I tried was Barbecue "Ribs." I chose this one for a veral years ago, after learning of the BBQ Rib menu at a unique function I was set to attend, I did my calorie counting research and was absolutely appalled at what I found. One single rib, depending on size, could be anywhere from 250 calories to 450 or more---for one rib!!It didn't fit into my calorie budget at all. So I declined the ribs on that occasion. And on every other occasion since...Because it was that night--over six years ago, I declared ribs off limits simply based on calorie value. I concluded there would never be a circumstance worth the caloric investment needed for BBQ Ribs.Until wrote, "I totally rethought ribs." And now, thanks to her, I have too!!I couldn't search a sugar free BBQ Sauce, so I created my own.--and following Joy's recipe, the double serving (8oz) of "ribs" checked in at a very manageable 389 calories. I'm e "ribs" were incredibly delicious--with all the taste of meaty-dripping with sauce, ribs. It was plenty of meal (more than enough, actually)--and a amazing calorie value!I would have never thought to rework "ribs" in this exceptionally creative and delicious way.Embracing my weight loss maintenance meal plan starts with truly enjoying what I'm eating each day. The more dozens I can add to my regular selection of amazing choices, the better! Thank you, Joy, for putting together an exceptional book that helps me do exactly that!I'm not DIEting, I'm LIVING!

    This is a rather interesting cookbook: the premise is to take the junky meal we like (things like pop tarts, cheez its, potato salad though no brand names are used) and with a few easy changes, make healthier alternatives. Author Bauer wisely avoids altering them too much - we're not talking perfectly healthy here. But this is a case of little changes making a decided difference over e book breaks down as follows: Chapter 1: Better For You Breakfasts; Chapter 2: Delicious Dips and Appetizers; Chapter 3: Scrumptious Soups and Sandwiches; Chapter 4: Slimming Sides, Salads, and Dressings; Chapter 5: Easy Satisfying Suppers; Chapter 6: Palate Pleasing Pizzas and Pastas; Chapter 7: Decadent Desserts; Chapter 8: Creative Cocktails, Mocktails, and Beverages. Conversion charts, e book is beautifully presented with simple to use recipes and bright, colourful photographs. Each recipe has a picture/description of the original 'less healthy' ver (the 'junk food') and then a healthier recipe alternative (the "joy food'). But this is a recipe book based on calories, not necessarily health. E.g., a lot of of the recipes remove egg yolks - which brings the calorie count down but doesn't, in my opinion, necessarily create the food healthier. Other recipes just use skim milk products over heavier cheeses and creams. E.g., macaroni and cheese is never going to be healthy - but replacing cream and butter with reduced fat cheese and less butter makes for a better alternative (and takes the calories from 1300 to 400). Nutrition information, serving size, alternatives/twists are also is book is a compromise between a healthy lifestyle and junk meal bonanza. On the one hand, you have zucchini replacing pasta and slimmer versions of different meat and dairy products. But on the other hand, recipes call for things like canned marinara sauce (which have a lot of artificial sugars like corn syrup) or ketchup (the same). And any nutritionist will tell you that calorie counting is not the method to determine meal health or healthy eating. But the book is very friendly, nicely presented, and there are some amazing ideas in there for changing eating patterns. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

    As a proud member of the "Joy Fit Club", and someone who has lost 300 lbs and has maintained that weight loss for a lot of years, I can personally attest to Joy's genuine dedication to helping the "dieter" both achieve success and to do it correctly.     The book was okay. It did not have a lot of recipes in it. I was able to learn how to substitute lower calorie stuff and am adapting my own recipes. I probably would not buy from this author again. Seller was great.
