I am in love. I am in love with Julie Buxbaum’s writing. I am in love with every book she has written. I am in love with this book. But most importantly, I am in love with two characters (I take that back, they are more than characters) named David and Kit. I was in tears at the end of this story and quite a few times during it. My heart is happy.David is on the autism spectrum. People might say he has Asperger’s but as he will tell you, in the recent edition of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), instead people are considered to have high-functioning autism. But people are not linear, they are multidimensional. He carries a notebook where he writes down all his thoughts on everyone in his school and life. It’s a guidebook too, with support from his sister of what to do and not to do. He is picked on by the “popular” kids. He keeps to himself, walking to class and lunch with his headphones on to drown out the noises. Until one day, Kit sits down next to him. David and Kit and have gone to school together for most of their lives but Kit isn’t usually in his orbit. Kit has her own issues that she is trying to deal with. Her father, David’s dentist, recently died in a vehicle accident. She doesn’t feel like herself anymore but she is surprised to see how amazing she feels when she talks to the straightforward David. And he begins to feel something too. Oh, my heart can’t take it! As they become closer to each other, David tells her he will support her test and figure out just what happened at her father’s vehicle accident and the Accident Project begins. What will they search out about that and just what will they search out about each other? If you haven’t read anything by Ms. Buxbaum, why the hell haven’t you?! This is her second YA novel. Her first, Tell Me Three Things, also gave me all the feels. Read it! You must read this book! You MUST! It is so full of warmth and love and joy and hope. There are some sad parts, yes, I cried. There are some parts that are hurtful and hard to read, yes, I cried but all it’s parts place together create this absolutely one of my very favorite books that I have read this Buxbaum, you wrote that you hoped that we care about Kit and David as much as you do. Yes we do.
What a beautiful, heart tugging read.I've been grieving and wanted a book to support me escape...just for a small while, anyway. This book did just that. It's truly one of the greatest books I've ever read. I wanted to hug it after I finished, and now, I can't stop thinking about David and Kit - two of the best book characters ever written. Oh how I love them e author did a spectacular job researching autism. I loved David's brilliant mind. Following Kit, as she too grieves, was comforting to me. Kit is a firecracker with so much heart. What she felt, I feel, and I'm certain a lot of who have lost a loved one can say the same.I will reread this one again and again. I think you should read it, too. Truly, it's magnificent; it's a work of art to wrap yourself up in.
I've long been a fan of Julie Buxbaum's and I think she's really hit her stride with her YA novels. Latest year's Tell Me Three Things was fantastic, and this book is too. David--a boy with Asberger's--jumps off the page and makes you fall in love with him, even as he's screwing up his newfound friendship with Kit. There's a mystery here too--how did Kit's father die--that drives part of the plot. But it's the voice of the two main characters and narrators that's the true gem. Two flawed people, finding one another. Highly recommend
I just finished reading "What To Say Next", and I hated to see it end. I loved, loved, loved it! After reading "Tell Me Three Things" I knew I could expect a unbelievable read, and Julie Buxbaum didn't disappoint. This woman can write! Now I will have to hunt down everything else she's written! The topics of autism and Asperger's are explained and handled so perfectly in this book, it should be needed reading. My heartfelt thanks to Julie Buxbaum for what I consider a excellent book!
First I wish to say how much I loved this awesome book. David who suffers from Asperger's is trying to survive high school, but his social skills are highly lacking. Kit is a famous girl in school who is dealing with the latest death of her father in a vehicle accident. Kit finds a friendship in David that she is lacking in her "tribe". David falls in love with Kit as she unknowingly helps him deal with his social skills. A cute romance that deals with bullying, friendship, and grief during the difficult teenage years.
This story doesn't include a lot of action, but there are some twists and turns and the characters are wonderful. I liked Kit and loved David. The author writes the two leads so well that you can actually feel what they're going through. It's clever, sweet and poignant. I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this book. It uses the two voices, with alternating chapters, style well - with a clear difference between the two voices. The two main characters are David (a teenage boy with Aspergers) and Kit (a teenage girl on the fringe of popularity). Kit's father has recently died in a vehicle accident, and the impact this has on Kit is understandably large - there is also the tip of a mystery to be solved...Absolutely worth a read.
I recommend this for high schoolers and adults alike. I found Julie Buxbaum from her other book "Tell me 3 things". Her writing style is simple to read and draws you in. With David you cringe when he cringes. Kits pain is also tangible. By all means give this book a chance. The fact she included a hero with aspergers is awesome and gives a fresh perspective on " not normal". 5 stars to her!
This is so good. The characters are perfectly flawed. They are amazing. The method the author switches between the 'voices' is just beautiful. I really feel like I got a look inside of each of the main characters. It's hard to know what to say without giving too much away, but it's a excellent fit for anyone who loves John Green or Jandy Nelson.
I enjoyed this book. Kit and David are both amazing characters. I love how Julie Buxbaum is able to .dive into the minds of people with unique needs like David. Also how she writes the suffering Kit is going though. She doesn't sugar coat anything. My only problem with this book was I wanted more. I didn't like the method it just ended .I would recommend this book for any high school kid.

First, you need to sign up and upload all the legal documents for them to review. It took me 2 days to obtain myself approved. If you are not tech savvy, create sure you ask the sales for a copy of tutorial. Their customer service is awesome. They will do anything to fulfill your request. You decide where you wish to go and how much you wish to obtain paid. Just don't be too greedy. If what you ask is within the normal range, you will obtain a job within 15 minutes. Works well for me!
Unable to log in using Google account, getting notice "Code: 10, Message: 10:" Also when using without logging in, it shows the sessions from latest year. It seems the application was not updated for Next 19. EDIT: after writing the original review, I contacted Google to search out more about this app. I was informed a fresh ver was just about to come out. Sure enough, days later the application was updated on my phone, and it works just as expected. It shows the Next 19 sessions, and includes all the current information. Updating the rating to 5.
Takes about 15 mins to begin on a pixel XL. Broken most of the time. Loses sign in information. Won't save bookmarks without sign in information. Absolutely useless in every way. It take serious concentrated effort to mess up a easy application this badly. Confirmed same thing is happening to several of my coworkers.
Wow! i just downloaded The Next Bible Application and it was super quick and easy! I am so excited that we can have this at a such a time like this; thank you so much Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for all the unbelievable innovations that we have fun because you said yes! Glorious1 CEOHZONE1
