    A Lair So Sinful []  2021-4-6 23:24

There’s so much that I could say about this book. All amazing things of course. I was really looking forward to it, and everything about it has exceeded my expectations. The characters are so compelling, complex, and dynamic, with their own pasts, experiences, and intentions. The globe building is phenomenal. The plot is wonderful and everything unfolds so perfectly. I’m always here for a powerful female lead, especially if she’s an Omega bringing her Alpha to his knees. I love magic and I love dragons. This is the excellent mix of that and more. I couldn’t place it down once I started reading it, and it stayed with me long after I devoured the latest word. This story is a unbelievable begin to what promises to be an perfect series. Truly one of the best things I’ve read in a while. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one. This will be a series featuring various couples so each book so they can be read as a ere were some grammatical errors, mostly missing words, which was odd for Zoey. Most of the time, her grammar is impeccable, but these problems didn’t take away from the story.I really liked I’mya’s hero a lot. She was really a powerful female lead. I also like Nyro a lot too. I just would’ve liked to have more from his e globe building was really amazing and you obtain totally immersed in it. I do think that the middle went kind of slow and the end went a small fast, however it was still a amazing story. There were a lot of steamy scenes which were fire.Overall, I think this is a really amazing omegaverse that I throughly enjoyed and can’t wait for the next in the series!

Gorgeous cover! As always I will read anything this author writes as her dark storytelling is amazing. The blurb was fantastic, had me begging for a copy. This is a complete book and a hawt HEA.What did I like? I devoured this book! I know it will be months before we obtain another book from this author but I just can’t support it. In this one we have a dragon, magic, and a bold omega! I’mya was a powerful omega brought to Nyro for his use and nothing more. I’mya has unique abilities though that create Nyro take notice, and once he takes message he can’t stop. This was not as dark as Zoey’s other books but still highly enjoyable.Would I recommend or buy? I have a book shelf for this author! If you love omegaverse books then this author is definitely the best. I will be getting a paper copy when the book comes out! Loved it! Five stars! I read it the day I got it! Large fan! Hope we obtain the other Dragon brother stories!I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review! Unbelievable book!

First, this book is not dragon shifter! It's an Alpha who is bonded to a dragon. This is a standalone with a hea :) Love love loved the dragon mythology in this book, which was very well developed. Android game of Thrones is one of my favorite television shows. Part of what I love about that present is the dragon mythology...and here there is a culture and richness to the mythology that I've enjoyed in other epic fantasies with dragons.I would describe this as high fantasy with magic, in a medieval setting. Part of this reminded me of The Witcher because the ongoing battle where magic played a huge role. I was enraptured by descriptions of the globe and magic. I'm picky about magic (low magic being my preference), but found the magic system here complex and e heroine was likable, the alpha swoon worthy. I've seen some reviews describe this book lighter and tamer...but I have to say that while this isn't the darkest omegaverse out there, it certainly has dark far as writing style, I think Zoey Ellis was at her best in this book. Info about the globe were slowly revealed to the reader, without information dumping. I liked how info about the cultures, magic, language, religion, etc were interwoven throughout the story. I can't wait for the next book.

This story was a bit of a various take on alphas and omegas. I love the method it included dragons, magic and fantasy, with amazing globe building. We are introduced to the dragorai Nyro and his brothers. They are an interesting family with all the typical interactions and relationships that you search with numerous powerful personalities. The dragons and magic is introduced early on in the story. The h was likeable, and the H's attraction to her was there from the moment they met. They have powerful chemistry and lots of hot scenes in the book. I did feel that the begin was a bit slow for my taste, but then things picked up and created me eager to read more. This book was not your typical alpha and omega but was still an enjoyable read.

Truth!!! Book One, based on one of the seven deadly sins, Lust, and I've died all the deads! I am enthralled and looking forward to more from Trilina Pucci! She's a fresh to me author and as far as being my first read from her, it certainly will not be my last!I was so drawn in to how Drew Matthews found her method to her poor add self! I loved her! There were times when she was with Nick that I was wondering what she was thinking putting up with him but then I understood how she got so wrapped up in pleasing him she lost herself. And eventually with Dominic King? Oh my King!!! Such an alpha, devil, sinful- I love him. She found her real self and I'm so glad they found their method back to each other and found more than lust. To me, they're the dynamic duo! You have to read this attractive beginning to what is to be an epic series! Looking forward to Luca next!😍

4.5 Stars - She found her forever when she wasn’t ready, but love waits for no one. The timing may not have been perfect, but their love was.Drew worked her butt off to excel in her career. She was successful but she felt like she was failing in her private life. So she changed that and found someone, but he changed her. She became someone she no longer recognized; someone she didn’t even like. It was time to take her life back!An unexpected visit to a club changed everything. It wasn’t the club, but the man she met. King had a presence. He was a man who could command a room. He exuded danger and commanded respect. The two had an immediate and intense connection. They agreed to one night and then they would part ng never wanted a relationship. Drew just wanted her life back. Neither was ready for the other, but when you meet your King, it’s time to become his is was my first read by this author. I fell in love with these characters and became part of their world! So a lot of twists I did not expect. This story kept me on my toes I am ready for more!

Omg what a book😱😱Wow just wow what a powerhouse of a book. I don't think I've ever said that about a book I've read like this. I am just speechless in how damn amazing this book is is my first book by a fresh arthur for me and dayyyuumm what a book. I can't quit saying that, but this book is one all consuming, action, downright dirty af strong e 2 main characters King and Drew are two powerful individuals that have a connection that we all just dream about in book's. You can feel it in the words in their actions with each other.I am of very sound mind and body.“Just for tonight. I’m yours and you’re mine.”Mercy this book was explosive. This is one book that is a must read and you to will believe when you come to church😉This is just my opinion and my voluntary review

    Truth: A Sinful Novel (A Sinful Series) []  2019-12-19 18:50

This is my very first Trilina Pucci book but after reading it, I know I am a large fan. This story was so sinfully amazing and decadently enchanting that I couldn't place it down. The tip of danger and the massive dose of scorching heat just created it irresistible to my bookworm heart. And it doesn't damage that King is the excellent combination of forbidden fruit and risky alpha poor boy that can melt your panties with his addictive gaze.Drew captured my attention from the very start. The strength she shows in escaping her abusive relationship is simply admirable. But she only finds her true self again, once she captures King's interest. And though their attraction and even feelings are practically instant, the story is written in such a way, that it actually makes you believe in instant connection.Of course, Drew and King's relationship is not a walk in the park. Drew's fear of trusting herself again and King's stubbornness nearly destroy what they have, but in the end, as they say, love conquers all :D Of course, there are few more obstacles on their way, but they only strengthen their relationship and love for each other.I would actually compare this book to the Mount Trilogy or the Savage Trilogy by Meghan March. It has exactly the same forbidden feel to it and the same scorching heat factor :D So if you are a fan of Meghan, I am beautiful sure you would love Truth as well. As for me, I can't wait to obtain my hands on Worship, the second book in the series and to search out what happens with Drew's best mate and King's brother :DI voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    Truth: A Sinful Novel (A Sinful Series) []  2019-12-19 18:50

When Truth worked for me, it really worked. In the moments it didn’t, I was still invested enough in the story to hold pushing through. The plotting was good; it was some of the characterizations and editing that left something on the table, for very favorite part of Truth was the juxtaposition of the two relationships Drew experiences. They served to present the difference in someone exerting control over a person for their own satisfaction and giving up power to someone because you trust them and they will only use that control to empower you. So often control-exchange novels don’t have the first example to highlight the differences and can come across differently than intended. I felt like having the emotionally abusive relationship with Nick touched on at the beginning of the book really helped to enhance how supportive and mutually satisfying the relationship with Dominic r all the things that didn’t quite work for me in Truth, I still found the premise and plot fascinating and was invested in making sure Drew and Dominic found their happily ever after. Ms. Pucci also created the supporting characters and the globe she’s begun building in this series compelling enough I am eagerly anticipating the next book in the first want for Truth would be another editing pass. There weren’t a ton of issues, but there were some minor grammatical problems and several instances of stilted dialogue and descriptions. I also felt the characters had some serious issues with consistency. Their personalities and voices seemed all over the place, and it created it hard for me to fully connect with them since I had no idea who they were going to be in the next uth is the first book in Trilina Pucci’s Sinful series. These books are slated to be interconnected standalones, as far as I can tell. I believe there will be an overarching storyline that will create more sense if the series is read in order, but each couple’s story seems to be contained in a single novel. Truth is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Drew and Dominic.

    Truth: A Sinful Novel (A Sinful Series) []  2019-12-19 18:50

** spoiler alert **The romance is insta-love, but that was in the synopsis or somewhere I read about the book, so I really can't complain. I thought it was interesting that it did not seem to take much time for Drew (the main girl) to recover from her abusive relationship once she decided to end it. While I am glad there were not a lot of negative effects on her after the fact, I don't think that is realistic. I also did not think it was fair for King to expect her to jump into a serious relationship immediately after she decided to end the abusive one. Give the girl some time and zone to obtain to know you and herself again!I liked how fierce they were together, though; Drew and King really did complement each other. But at the end, the story became about Luca and his time in a hospital, and since he already has his own book in the series, I don't know why the end of Drew and King's had to be about him. I thought the epilogue was super rushed, jumping forward in time and BAM kids everywhere. Like geez they didn't wish time just for the two of them? King did not seem like the fatherly type, so that was jarring. Not saying people can't change, but that was a huge 180.I am looking forward to Luca and Gretchen's story though, as I am totally curious how that will work since Luca is married.

This was was an insta lust turned love story. Filled with a risky alpha.I’m okay with inta connections, especially when the chemistry is off the charts hot.I liked how the author explained the emotional and verbal abuse aspect. That’s usually never seen, and it was created an necessary role in this story. Which is refreshing to see.I liked alpha Drew, when she was in that location it was awesome to see. Especially at the end. She looses that edge a bit trying to victory Dominic over. All in the name of love, I suppose. She does obtain more sympathy from me for her luck on double sets! Lol more power to her sanity there! All in all, this was a amazing setup for a series Im ready to binge!! I would of loved to see more of Dominics POV here, but I was still pleased.

After getting the job of her dreams, Drew decides it’s time to go for more in her life. With that in mind she meets Nick who appears to be everything a girl could want. However, after a year together it’s obvious that is not the case. With a lot of back and forth and, in my opinion, too much time spent on this relationship, the story moves forward and Drew is pulled into Dominic King’s world. This is where things begin to obtain ng is a man to fear and for amazing reason. When he sees Drew for the first time he wants her immediately. Fortunately, with a club as their meeting place, she is titillated and allows her to lead her to his personal room. What follows is twenty-four hours together with lots of and some time spent getting to know one another before their conflict arises.I didn’t love this book, but I did search it to be okay. I felt as though both Drew and King’s characters were inconsistent in their development which affected my overall feelings. However, there was a lot of hot and steamy scenes so if that’s your thing then you’ll definitely have fun this. There is a bit of drama at the end as well as some secondary hero development that helped to add to the risky vibe regarding King. I must confess I felt that these latter scenes were trying too hard too late in the story and I would’ve liked to have seen more of this dark side of King earlier in the book.Dual POV

I was confident I was going to have fun this book but honestly, it went well beyond my expectations. This is my first Trilina Pucci book, but she has cemented herself as a go-to one-clicker! The storyline is tantalizing, with the best kind of characters--a sassy, strong, intelligent, and independent heroine in Drew, and a strong, tattooed, dominant character in King (Dominic). This book is a page-turner and you won't wish to place it down! This book is S.E.X.Y. I love that Trilina is writing an entire series surrounding the seven deadly sins, with Truth being the first. I can't wait for more from this world. Brava for Truth! 5 stars from me.

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel []  2020-1-14 19:30

Picking up a few weeks after the happenings of the first book, Lair of Dreams begins by launching the reader into the fresh supernatural issue in the Diviners’ world. People in Fresh York Town go to sleep, and their excellent dreams depicting their idealistic lives soon turn to nightmares. Nightmares that they can’t be woken from. These people remain in a state of permanent sleep until they die. Doctors don’t have a cure, or even an explanation. Psychologists and experts in sleep are being brought in from all over the world, yet nothing seems to come of it (the psychology nerd in me squealed when our characters met Carl Jung!) The authorities, under immense pressure from the government and the American people, are forced to strike down on the zone where this “sleeping sickness” is believed to have originated: Chinatown- Fresh York City’s Chinese population is left feeling like second-class citizens, like they are not human beings. But more than just the emotional ramifications, people are being taken out from their homes, their papers checked, and the question of further immigration very much hangs by a thin is book was a masterpiece in the sheer complexity of its themes. Set in 1920s America where the country was all too happy to ignore the less-glamorous things in life, Bray’s story paints a vivid, yet extremely disturbing picture of the American illusion. Home of the free and the brave on the surface, but simmering with hatred, prejudice and outright racism versus people differing in color, culture and language. Bray forces us to stand in the put of an American-Chinese hero who has to face poor prejudice, and can do very small about it because it’s so institutionalized. She forces us to stand in the put of an African-American teenager, who is constantly cautious, constantly thinking over each of his moves because he knows people will look for just an excuse to damn him in his own is is a book that is so important, because despite it being set in the early 1900s, some of the themes it explores are unfortunately still relevant today. The prejudice still exists today, towards some of the same groups, and some various ones. It’s a brutally honest read that makes you question things other than those on the surface: yes, it’s a story about a few characters and their struggles with the supernatural. Yes, it’s a scary read because it has ghosts and monsters. But it’s also a scary read because it has something realer than ghosts and monsters. It shows us the America hidden behind false promises, and false hopes. It shows us the ugly picture that we test so, so hard to ignore. And perhaps even more than that, Bray manages to tackle more subtly some of the themes that created the first book so controversial. I remember reading reviews for the Diviners, and coming across people saying that it was almost blasphemous in how anti-religious it was. And while there was certainly more skepticism towards religion in Lair of Dreams, it was dialed down. The themes were more subtly incorporated through dialogue and streams of consciousness, and didn’t seem heavy-handed at all. If you’re not someone who generally latches on to quotes regarding religion, you probably wouldn’t even message them. I am, however, rather skeptic about organized religion (including my own, lol), so quotes like the one below stand out for me, and I tend to have fun them a the midst of all the darker undertones, Libba Bray makes sure that we touch base with our beloved characters. Evie has come forth as a Diviner; she has her own radio show, and her talents and charming personality have dubbed her America’s “Sweetheart Seer.” Sam Lloyd is as insufferable as ever for Evie, but certain cirtances as well as just being in the wrong put at the wrong time, place the two together in a method they, nor their friends, saw coming. Theta is dealing with her past, all while trying to maintain a relationship with Memphis, who is trying to deal with the return of his powers. Henry and Ling are dream walkers, which may not be the best power to have, considering that people are getting stuck in their dreams. Bray ensures that each of her characters gets the attention they deserve; they go through development and we learn more about them, but one of the complaints I had was how she glossed over Jericho’s arc. He was one of my favorite characters in the latest book (I’m a sucker for brooders, you know), so his presence was sorely rhaps one of the things that bothered me most was how disinterested and detached I felt to Evie’s character. Her newfound fame created her already over-confident personality downright insufferable. I liked her sass and confidence in the first book, but it was taken above and beyond in Lair of Dreams. Moreover, much of her storyline felt like filler. We see her more involved in romance, but that side was the least interesting one of the ir of Dreams was a four-star read until I hit the latest hundred and fifty pages or so. By then, the momentum had almost completely died down, and I found myself wanting to finish this tome rather than wanting to know what happens next. Unlike The Diviners, I wasn’t hanging on to each and every word, and that’s exactly what makes this an under-whelming sequel. The Diviners sucked me in, and this one simply failed to do that. Nonetheless, this a series I would recommend to everyone because it is dense, masterfully written and a special take on YA historical fiction.

I love and adore every hero in this book and am SO excited for the third installment. I just love the 1920's Fresh York setting, the characters are awesome and the magic and whimsy with this story is incredible. Plus, this series is SO spooky too which is another awesome aspect! I would literally recommend this series to anyone, no matter you favored genre, it's the excellent series for literally anyone. SO SO amazing and I am quickly falling head over heels for this series! This was an ok book but a disappointing sequel. The focus shifts from Evie to other characters, and their voices just weren't as strong. While the wordy, descriptive chapters worked very well to give the pacing a break in the first book, in this one they felt more random and there were method too a lot of of them. And I was very annoyed to see parts of the ending of the first book entirely undone in the first chapter of this book.If you read the first book and enjoyed it, you'll probably give this one a shot. My tip would be to lower your expectations a bit and be prepared for significantly less Evie time.

4.5 StarsPlot: The struggle with all sequels is not being able to remember what happened in the first book. Luckily, Libba Bray thinks of everything and feeds the reader little snippets of what happened in The Diviners to support jog bba Bray introduces a fresh paranormal mystery that unravels small by little. Libba Bray never fails to obtain me invested in one of her special mysteries and the tale of the Sleeping Sickness is no different. I will say that Lair of Dreams lacks the creeptastic gore that I came to love in The Diviners. Instead, I connected with Lair of Dreams on a more emotional ong with the Sleeping Sickness mystery, Lair of Dreams tips at the overall conflict which leaves the reader with nothing but questions as the novel aracters: Everyone that you know and love from The Diviners is back, and then some! We are introduced to Ling Chan, the Chinese-Irish-American girl with a love for science and a knack for dream walking. I abso-tive-ly adored her spunk and the amount of love and attention that Libba Bray place into her ong with some fresh faces, the gang reunites and digs deeper into their Diviner gifts. While The Diviners was Evie-centric, I felt that Evie was barely show in Lair in Dreams. Instead, we follow Henry's desire to become a musician and discover his emotional past. My main obsession with this series is Bray's dedication to her characters. Each person that makes an appearance in Lair of Dreams is breathed into life with enough backstory to create you empathize or wish to learn more. Evie is clearly going through a rough patch after the happenings of The Diviners and we are able to see how Naughty Jon affected her and her relationships with e love triangle that played second fiddle in The Diviners comes more to light in Lair of Dreams and rips my soul into small pieces. I lost a lot of hope for my ship, but I'm not giving up! Building: While reading this book, I had to actively stop myself from using 1920s slang when talking to family and friends. This globe is so engulfing that I physically had to pull myself back to the 21st century. One thing that makes Libba Bray's 1920s so excellent is that she doesn't shy from its brutal history. The KKK rears its ugly head, the Chinese citizens are threatened with deportation, and African Americans have to watch their melody stolen from the roads of Harlem and paraded as a White invention. It is also fascinating that the characters remark on The Amazing American Future and Exceptionalism while damning minorities in the same ort N Sweet: Lair of Dreams is posi-tut-tely thrilling and will have you obsessively refreshing GoodReads for an modernize on the third installment.

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel []  2020-1-14 19:30

I really loved the Diviners. I gave the book 5 stars for its characters, storytelling, and scary themes. All around, I thought the Diviners was fantastic. Lair of Dreams is not. It started out ok, but the more I read, the more I became bored and waited for something more to happen. It just kept dragging. I also didn't like the introduction of the fresh hero Ling. I thought she was ok, but she seemed to have more book time than Evie and I think that was the wrong move. A lot of her story was e idea of the sleeping sickness was a amazing idea. It just wasn't as scary and terrifying as naughty John was. I am waiting for something more terrifying to come en I obtain towards the ending. It does pick up a bit at the end, but the ending is unsatisfying. The romance is just left hanging about 100 or more pages before the end and nothing more is mentioned about it. Nothing is told of where Will and the other woman went while away. Nothing is tied up in that aspect. I suppose the ending tidbit about Will's mom is fine, but everything just wasn't really wrapped up nicely. On another note, I felt that characters seemed "off." Jericho and Mabel seemed a small different. They just didn't seem like the same characters from The Diviners. Very strange.I am very disappointed in a sequel that took 3 years to come out. I love Libba Bray, but I can't say I love this book. I'm not sure if I will read the next book, but if I do, I am hoping it is much better than this one. She needs to go back to the roots of the story and Evie like how The Diviners was. Extremely disappointing.

I had the excellent plan, I started the audio book right at the beginning of September, and since a 20 hour audioboook usually takes me a month to listen to, the timing of me finishing this would be perfectly timed for when the 3rd book came out. Well, it is only September 6th, and I have already finished it. As far as being a sequel, I can say that I enjoyed this one almost as much, if not just as much, and the first book. There were definitely things I liked more about this book and there were things that I enjoyed more in the first e thing that disappointed me a small about Lair of Dreams was that the plot/big mystery/the villain of this book was far less interesting than Naughty John. Beautiful early on I was able to figure out who the villain was, and the fact that the our main characters couldn't figure it out just created me frustrated, because it was SO obvious. Also, The dream globe was far less interesting to me than a serial killer. What I did love more about this book that The Diviners was that we got more Evie and Sam. I just love those two so much, and one of my favorite tropes in the fake relationship one, so I was living every time I read their parts. Like I was at the end of The Diviners, I am still worried that Libba Bray might create the whole love triangle a huger part in the next book, which while it wouldn't completely ruin the book, it would definitely knock it down a begin or thing that I loved about the first book that carried on into this book was the atmosphere of the 1920's. Libba Bray continued to just be awesome and create the reader actually feel like you are in that time period. I also, well I wouldn't say enjoyed, but appreciated the emphasis on immigrants in this book and the prejudice/racism during the time period. The one part that got me the most mad was "The Wolf Among Us" chapter with Sarah Snow. I had to stop listening for a second, because I was so mad that people once (and some still do) think like that. While it was hard to listen to parts like those, I think they are important, and the impact is final thing because I am beautiful sure I forgot to place this in my Diviners review, CHECK OUT THE AUDIOBOOK. Libba Brays writing with January LaVoy reading it is just AMAZING.

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel []  2020-1-14 19:30

Nota bene: you should really read the first book before getting to this one. Bray does insert some asides into the book that are meant to remind old readers, or instruct fresh ones, on what happened in Book 1 – but it’s not nearly enough for the uninitiated. Go read The Diviners if you haven’t yet!I waited two years for the sequel to Lair of Dreams, and the release date snuck up on me. I inhaled The Diviners between Sunday and Tuesday, and started Lair of Dreams the day it was released, finishing it two days later. It’s very various from the first book, but I loved it Lair of Dreams, a sleeping sickness is ravaging Fresh York Town and it’s up to the Diviners to stop it. They are growing in both name and number. Evie is famous: as the Sweetheart Seer, she runs a radio present and basks in the spotlight. Theta’s star is also rising in the Ziegfeld Follies, though nobody knows about her powers – yet. We meet fresh Diviners, and learn much more about characters that had background roles in the first Book 1, the plot was driven ahead with each murder that happened. Here, it’s a small different. The sleeping sickness causes people to fall asleep and, eventually, die. However, the spread of the illness is in the background – we don't really know how a lot of people are affected, or how quick it spreads. Most of the Diviners don’t even seem particularly concerned by its existence – only two come into any kind of touch with it before the grand e fact is, although the climax of the book occurs as the Diviners face the cause of the sleeping sickness, the actual disease doesn’t feel like it’s the focal point in the book. Instead, Lair of Dreams feels like a calm before the storm, where the soldiers are assembling before battle. Some allegiances are formed; some begin to crumble. We start to see the outlines of Project Buffalo and what it means to our protagonists. We begin seeing the choices that some characters will have to make, and I wonder how a lot of friendships will fall apart through these decisions. The book does leave us with more questions than answers, though, and I’m both excited and nervous to see where the story goes – I don’t know if Bray has everything mapped out, or if she’s pantsing it. I certainly hope it’s the former, because I think we’re in for a really wild and complex ride.I had two qualms with the book. The first is the same one I had with The Diviners. I cannot underscore how much I love Bray’s focus on diversity, but our protagonists are all too open-minded. Evie is a very flawed hero as is, but I don’t believe that a girl from Zenith, Ohio doesn’t have a tip of racism or homophobia in her. Same with our fresh Diviner, Ling – when confronting Henry’s homoity, we learn that she was taught it’s poor and unnatural, but she drops those teachings immediately to accept Henry. I understand that she’s supposed to be a scientific mind – but I can tell you, as a scientist, that we can all be highly logical while still being bigoted. Heck, look at James Watson – a Nobel-prize winning scientist – who still managed to create plenty of racist and ist remarks throughout his lifetime. The fact is, people suck, but we can learn to suck less, and it would be nice to see some characters grappling with their own prejudices upon being thrust into a very diverse cast of characters, rather than simply accepting e second qualm is that I simply don’t believe a seventeen-year-old girl (Evie) would be drunkenly traipsing about Fresh York Town in the 1920s without anyone hollering about chaperones, at the very least. I realize that I’m older than the target demographic of this book (yes, I do tend to side with the parents in Disney films now – that’s the moment you know it’s all over!), but it just seems wonderful that this would be allowed and that her parents wouldn’t swoop in and steal her back to Ohio now that she’s achieved some level of fame. It’s understood from the book that Evie and Will had a falling out after she gave away that she has powers, but I want Bray had gone into more detail about how Evie managed to dodge being sent or brought back home.Overall (whew, this was a long review): I highly recommend this book for fans of the Diviners. Obtain reading!

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel []  2020-1-14 19:30

This series is a lovely thing. From begin to finish the attention to plot and detail makes every sentence a delight. This story picks up a few months after book 1 with Evie a radio star living on her own; Will off with Sister Walker; Jericho and Sam (of all people) running the museum which is under threat from the tax-man; Theta playing a Russian princess; she and Memphis continuing their risky romance...but the true stars of the story are Henry and fresh character, half-Chinese, half-Irish American Ling Chan. Their shared ability brings the two together in a dream world, providing an escape from true life problems. Henry cannot create headway in his career and Ling is struggling with recovering from a devastating illness that has left her legs in braces. But this is risky as there is a deadly sleeping sickness running through the city. This may be the creepiest story I've read in a while.

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel []  2020-1-14 19:30

This second Diviners novel does not disappoint. Libba Bray breathes life into her clutch of main characters, who are as complex and complicated, conflicted and confused, as the readers who immerse themselves in this brilliant and terrifying landscape she has created. Nothing in Lair of Dreams is pat or hackneyed; the young adults at the center of the series are fraught with insecurities and caught in a web of life and death --and what stalks between-- but they are also relatable, familiar in their yearning for love, closure, understanding, and recognition. I love that the larger than life supernatural rush of the plot never takes away from the primary humanity of the characters. The horror of nightmarish evil Bray's characters must work versus in Lair of Dreams certainly got into my head, and I read through the wee hours of the night, unwilling to sleep when so much in the novel's globe was at stake. I take some comfort in the novel's underlying promise of hope, of amazing prevailing over evil. The next book in the Diviners series will reveal whether I am right or wrong; either way, I cannot wait to dive in!

Uhhhhhhh.......wow! Such a amazing quick read! I couldn't place it down. You fall in love with Billie and Brooks. The characters and story line were well developed. I didn't feel as if the story was rushed because this is a novella. The ending was excellent to me, it felt complete and nothing left to question. I highly recommend this book.

This review is for the story , Love, Lust Hate by Mika JoliwThere’s a saying that when you assume you create an a.. out of you and me. This story perfectly follows this philosophy . Assumptions are a risky thing that each one of us are guilty of. Without all the info and making snap judgments we could miss something great!Charlotte has definite opinions based on a life that has presented a lot of challenges, opinions of others and definitely her own preconceptions of if actual love is in fact true or lasting.Jagger is handsome, smart, trying to create his tag in the world. He’s self created at this point in his career and determine to prove himself to his boss even if he has to go up versus his ese two have banter and wars for days. They don’t lack for snarky comments and definite opinions of each other. Now they’re thrown together to compete. This is only the beginning. However, is it really hate for each other or could this be foreplay of the hottest kind?I read this book in one night. These two are the main happening of this battle. Others stop by and have their put in the ring that helps create up these two. But create no mistake they are the main event. Watching the take down is very enticing. This is the Rocky and Apollo Creed of relationships. We all watched how that relationship evolved over time. I’m assuming you can see how this all plays out. I really enjoyed this book. It brought so much to the table and brings all the feels.

A Sinful Encore has a epic ending that has a few surprises in store…Kace is ever so charming, with a bit of a dark side that makes me have fun this hero even more. Kane is full of secrets, but what he will do to protect Aria is well known. The question is who will protect him? Kace is trying to close the chapter of his past, but when it involves the woman who he is enchanted with can he protect her in the ia is a brilliantly brave heroine, that I will never forget in my lifetime. Aria is pulled between family and the man she loves, will she obtain the answers she seeks or will her brother be forever lost? Aria knows there is more to the answers she seeks and the man who holds her heart.Kane and Aria have over come so a lot of battles, but the one war that matters more than anything is their love for one another. They are challenged heavily in this final installment of the Brilliance Trilogy. There are opponents afoot, can Kane and Aria seek out the mystery of the formula? Will Aria’s homecoming end on a sour note?Everyone of the supporting characters were as brilliant as ever. I still consider them all top notch characters. I will never obtain tired of all the slapstick comedy between them all. I can’t wait for Adrian to take the fall. One things for certain the lady is going to have too have a love for poor humor. *GRINS*In closing this trilogy, Ms. Jones ends A Sinful Encore with powerful characters, awesome friendships, an odd ball family and a unconditional love. Everyone needs someone unique to connect with, why not a Rock Star and a Princess.Rated 5 Stilettos and a Recommended Read by Deb!

5 Stars from Renee!I was pulled right into this story. This is a 3-part story so be prepared to obtain all three parts. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and naughty rt one was the begin of Aria and Kace’s story. Aria is looking for her brother but also missing pieces of her family’s things. These two meet at an auction and they chemistry is hot but they both have secrets. Him more than her with the secrets but those will not be revealed just quite yet. Kace is ready to claim Aria and have her forever but what is really going to happen as they continue their journey? This is more of Aria and Kace’s story. Shrouded in mystery, secrets, and betrayal this story continues. She is looking for her brother. Kace knows method more than she ever thought and even she might know. And his danger is about to mix with them. Can he protect her from the past and the truth? Or is everything about to come to ahead? This is the conclusion of this story. Questions will be answered but are they answers you expected? Will these two be able to have a forever? Can the love latest the tests they have been through? Or will this be the end of everything? With all the trust problems can there really have a future. He brother stirs up problems will they be able to over come those issues? You should understand that this is a three-part book and you will need all three parts. The first two will end in cliffhangers and leave you with more questions than answers. You will need to obtain all three books to obtain the answers you will need. I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a amazing read.I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is a review for , Love, Lust, Hate by Mika JolieHoly heck! I absolutely loved Jagger and Charlotte!!! I didn't think it was possible for me to have fun a novella as much as I did this one but Ms. Jolie knew just how to hook me. I’m a total sucker for a romance between co-workers, especially when they begin out as opponents and this couple were on fire long before they acknowledged an attraction between them. Add a character who has a small bit of a jealous streak running through him and I’ve just been given everything that makes me love to r a short book, these characters were very well developed and watching them move forward into a relationship was amazing. I’m awed at how much we are given within such a short amount of space. This is filled with quick, witty banter, deep insightful conversations, and just enough conflict to hold turning the pages without consuming the story.I’m hoping this author is going to give us updates on this couple, hopefully in the form of holiday novellas perhaps? Fingers crossed!

They bicker and banter and underneath it all they are fighting the sizzling chemistry between them. When they are forced to work together, they obtain to know each other beyond the assumptions they have each made. They both have some baggage. They search that they are more alike than they thought they were, but like various sides of a coin. I loved reading as they gave into their chemistry and found their HEA. Their characters felt complete despite the novella length of the story. This is written in first person from dual POV.I will modernize reviews after reading more of the anthology.

I have to say I liked the characters. I hated when it took 7-10 pages of and feelings repeated again.Wasted pages. Lots of repeating.Even the recap had 2 errors. Kace had been with her father in Italy for one week - error previous book said 2 weeks. Then an immediate typo and a lot of more in the book.I obtain you write books fast, but what about your pre readers who check this.Ok other issue with book, huge hoopla about formula and it turns out to be a reveal that I figured out already and basically it was uneventfulLots of built up to danger but not much really happens, most of the book was about the two main characters rehashing everything in all 3 uld of had more something!Truly I felt like for me 1. As a reader, I hate a writer that does cliff hangers2. All 3 books could have been written as one without cliffhangers!3. I don't know why the hype and danger over something that really did not have much danger happened! It was all about the 2 characters rehashing feeling, , supposed darkness.Disappointing for me, my opinion, I just thought WOW WHAT A LET DOWN!!AUTHOR LIKES TO BUILD UP A SCENE, THEN ENDS THE BOOK!THAT IS DISGUSTING THING TO DO TO READERS!!!I honestly can't say I didn't have fun the 2 characters but after the dumb cliffhangersI would not recommend this author due to e writes well, can tell a nice story and characters but having to buy the next paragraph to the current stage in the next book? Why???Money? The method you like to tease readers?I hate abrupt ending to a scene! Then must purchase another book. Then that one ends suddenly too. Then purchase another book! All books were chop short, could have written one book with not so much repeating of the same scenes between them. It was like taking up zone for The sake of filling pages to create book longer and in the end, well it was a nice ending. The danger and allure of the formula was a total s. Jones has talent and can write about unbelievable characters but with allure to The formula what a total disappointment! Missing so much that could have happened with this story! I would not recommend this series at all!The author can tell a amazing story, but at times repeats, and repeats, and repeats feeling, tension etc for pages!! Ugh

This review is for Love Lust Hate, by Mika Jolie.I don't have the words for how much I loved this book!❤️ Love Lust Hate had me torn between wanting to race through its captivating story, or create it latest as long as I possibly could. I Loved Jagger and Charlotte so much that they have now become two of my most favorite rced to work together and compete for the same job promotion, Charlotte and Jagger brings sizzling y chemistry and tremendous heat to this awesome enemies-to-lovers a lot of of Charlotte’s co-workers, Jagger thought that the only reason Charlotte had her job at the Marketing Company owned by her dad was because she was an entitled Princess. Their interactions with each other has always been chilly. Each of them wanted to proved that they were the most qualified person for the job, but after they started working closely together on the same project their feelings towards one another began to shifts from animosity to affection...That was when things got complicated. #ItscomplicatedMs. Jolie has the special ability to create her novellas read like full books. I loved the premise of the story. It was told in first person POV by Charlotte and Jagger. I felt this book was about Charlotte’s journey and the stereotyped-hurdles she had to crossed. I was really impressed at how smoothly the author was able to bring readers along for the transition. To some extent it felt like I was reading one of the books from the Martha's Method Series, except this story was set in NYC and was a small playful. It was nice to see some of our favorite characters like Hudson Baldwin from Intercepted Hearts, River Baldwin from Defenseless Hearts and Katherine Morello from Rules Of Engagement also created appearances in this book Love Lust Hate was an perfect read!!

4.5 stars A SINFUL ENCORE is the third and final instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult BRILLIANCE erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on musician/violinist Kace August, and twenty eight year old collector Aria Alard. A SINFUL ENCORE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the happenings of book two A WICKED SONG. Several characters from the author’s Inside Out, Savage Trilogy, Careless Whispers, and the Walker Brothers series cross over for TE: If you have not read the previous instalments there may be some spoilers in my ld from first person perspective (Aria Alard Stradivari) A SINFUL ENCORE picks up immediately after the happenings of book two A WICKED SONG wherein Aria’s brother Gio’s return from Europe sparked anger and mistrust for our story line couple. Gio has been on the hunt for the elusive Stradivari formula, a formula known only to the Stradivari heirs but with their father missing and presumed dead, Gio and Aria Stradivari are not the only treasure hunters searching for the sought-after formula. Gio believes he has reason to distrust our story line hero, and in doing so, brings dangers to America, placing his sister’s life in jeopardy, forcing her to run. As Aria and Kace’s relationship turns more passionate and intense, their trip to Europe is fraught with questions and fresh acquaintances who reveal more than anyone could have imagined. A SINFUL ENCORE is a story of family and friendships; betrayal and revenge; secrets, lies, romance and love. The hero driven premise is intriguing, engaging and fascinating; the romance is tender, spicy and erotic; the characters are spirited, edgy and energetic. Most of the conflict resolution was behind the stage so the reader is not privy to the smaller nuances. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Gio’s story. A SINFUL ENCORE and the Brilliance Trilogy is a thrilling and sensual story of love, life and happily ever after.

What an awesome conclusion to this remarkable trilogy! In this final edition, Kace and Aria start to completely trust each other as they unravel the different clues they’ve uncovered. Watching Aria morph into the woman she was always meant to be, and accepting herself as such, was wonderful. I loved that she found the strength to do so.Even more was Kace’s ability to fully begin up to Aria and let her to see everything that created him who he was, even if it included the darker side of his nature. While I greatly missed his point of view throughout this series, I did have fun seeing his response to certain is couple are forced to move through so a lot of scenarios until they finally solve the puzzle that has haunted Aria. Along the method their relationship continues to deepen and with those experiences, the sheer intensity of what they share is revealed.I was particularly excited to see so a lot of characters from past series/books. With lots of drama, a touch of wit, and a bit of angst, this book truly was the excellent ending.

What an awesome end to a attractive trilogy. ❤The Brilliance Trilogy was one of those series that drew me in from the first book. It was also one where each book seemed impossible to place down and once I reached the final page, I couldn’t wait for the next. And that wasn’t just because of the cliff hangers in A Reckless Note and A Wicked Song.I really don’t wish to give anything away, so if you haven’t started this trilogy yet, you need to stop reading this review now. I won’t be giving anything away from A Sinful Encore, but it would be impossible to not give anything away from the previous books. So, consider yourself warned. 😉A Sinful Encore begins exactly where A Wicked Song left off – with Kace and Aria coming face to face with a very mad Gio. From the volatile beginning to the very latest page, the twists, turns and revelations just kept coming. That and the fact that the writing was just as lyrical as it was in the first two books, kept the pages turning.Kace spent a lot of time in A Sinful Encore attempting to protect Aria from danger and sometimes even from himself. Gio was convinced that Kace was a danger to her, while Kace was convinced the same was real of Gio. It was hard at times to tell who to trust, but Aria never once lost her trust in ere were a lot of characters in the Brilliance Trilogy that readers were familiar with from previous series. From the standpoint of a reader who hasn’t read those previous series, I kind of liked being introduced to them as Aria was. Now I obtain to go back and experience those relationships from the beginning, which I definitely plan on though the Brilliance Trilogy came to a satisfying end, there was still a small bit of a mystery left in the finale. Just enough to create readers wonder what comes next for Aria, Kace and those that they are closest to. ❤I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of A Sinful Encore. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners Book 2) []  2020-1-18 19:48

I found this book to be an interesting blend of really old tropes that, to my knowledge, have never been place together quite this method before. The author definitely has a vision of where he wants this book series to finish, and has no qualms about whipping out "ol' reliable" to obtain there. On the plus side, Stubblefield usually finds an interesting method to justify those tropes. While the explanations can definitely be on the long side, go along with it long enough and you might actually begin to have some fun!

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners (2)) []  2020-1-23 0:10

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners (2)) []  2020-1-23 0:10

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners (2)) []  2020-1-23 0:10

This was an ok book but a disappointing sequel. The focus shifts from Evie to other characters, and their voices just weren't as strong. While the wordy, descriptive chapters worked very well to give the pacing a break in the first book, in this one they felt more random and there were method too a lot of of them. And I was very annoyed to see parts of the ending of the first book entirely undone in the first chapter of this book.If you read the first book and enjoyed it, you'll probably give this one a shot. My tip would be to lower your expectations a bit and be prepared for significantly less Evie time.

Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners Book 2) []  2020-1-18 19:48

Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners Book 2) []  2020-1-18 19:48

    Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners (2)) []  2020-1-23 0:10

"For dreams, too, are ghosts, desire chased in sleep, gone by morning. The longing of dreams draws the dead, and this town holds a lot of dreams."This book is the sequel to The Diviners series. This takes play about several months to a year after The Diviners ended where Evie is now a huge shot star for WGI reading objects and telling people things they wish to know. But something is brewing beneath the city's surface in the dreams of a lot of and keeping people asleep until they die. This sleeping sickness is met with with woman in a veil in the dreams of her captor and only the Diviners can stop it.We got a lot of more Asian rep in this as we are introduced to Ling Chan, who is a dream walker that lives in China Town. This is our first time really having more interaction in this book series with the 1920s Asian culture. Which was really nice to see that. But the sleeping sickness was also being deemed in Asian disease by the media in this book, so there was a lot more blatant racism and prejudice. There was even mention of Klu Klux Klan members protesting Asians in this is book really added to the first one and continues to allude to and foreshadow the coming ghosts that we will most likely be seeing more of in the books to come. There is something much greater and much more evil lurking behind the scenes we have only been getting glimpses of. These book are playing the long largest complaint about this book is how easily it seemed to resolve itself. How simple things were solved after everyone came together and the work up to the final conflict was method longer than the resolution of the conflict. It's not as though I expect it to be half the book, just a few more chapters of is was a really fun read with alot of really colourful and interesting characters. I was completely immersed in this book and adored it so much. I cannot wait to continue with the series.

Rustin wanted to prove to Asha they would be amazing together and he deserved a possibility to prove how much he cared for her. I really liked this book. This book had a lot of heat between Asha and Rustin and they really cared for one another, even if Asha wouldn't admit her feelings. I think she was scared to forgive him and move on to search happiness. There was a surprise with the business and Adare that i didn't ep in the Mountains- Laz was a cop until he left the force to take a job as a ranger after his private life suffered after a divorce from his mental ill wife. She divorced Laz and he was blindsided, he was standing by her, hoping for her to obtain better. A few years later, Laz was satisfied to be in the mountains alone. When Ayla goes to a resort in the mountains for a bachelorette party of a friend, she really didn't wish to go and she is having a terriible time. Ayla gets drunk the first night and wanders into a bar, where she is told to leave. Laz was there and makes sure she gets back to the resort. The next day, Ayla is in an even worse mood and after fighting with her friends, she wanders off and gets lost. When Laz finds Ayla, she begs him not to take her back to the resort, so he takes her to his place. They have a connection and after Ayla explains she doesn't wish to be at the resort and wants to be with him, Laz gives into his attractions. They have a amazing day, until Laz realizes he is late for work and learns Ayla was reported missing. If anyone learns Ayla was with Laz, he could lose his job and he asks he to lie. When Laz's ex-wife shows up, Ayla sees her and thinks he was lying about being married. I enjoyed this story, i thought Ayla was a small lost and wanted more out of life. I thought Laz was a amazing guy who had overcame a poor situation and required to move one. I loved them together and thought they had amazing chemistry.I like Nicole's books and look forward to reading the others in this set. This is a amazing method to read this series.

I found this book to be a strange one. Don't obtain me wrong, I liked it, but it was various from the usual romance. Hopefully without giving away too much: from Lucas' explicit exploits to Abby's acceptance of them, to the seemingly abrupt change to exclusivity from acting the opposite, the book told a various story than some of us are used to. Perhaps in a method it was more realistic that it displayed Lucas' lifestyle, but at the same time there didn't seem to be a natural flow or buildup into exclusivity with Abby. It was almost like, bam! I only wish her. At one point I thought they would be disastrous for each other because of their emotional hangups, but it all seemed to work out. Now I'm reformed/healed because of her and she because of me. I enjoyed it enough to wish to read the rest of the series, but it was odd to be sure. [3.5 stars]

As things change for both of them, the become closer.OpinionI hated Lucas to begin with. He is a y, arrogant man who only cares about his needs. As I finished the story, he became more bearable, almost loveable. Abby was a sweet hero that was constantly being taken advantage of. I hated that for her. The budding romance kept the book is is the first book in the series. Each chapter is told in two points of view so the reader has the pleasure of knowing what’s going on in each characters head. I enjoyed the writing style and will be sure to pick up the next y thanks to Connie Lafortune for providing me with an ARC of this book.
