    Cricut Maker, Blue []  2020-6-19 18:8

I'm a huge fan of cutting machines. I use them in my business: Selling stencils and making stencils and specialitiy multi-media wood signs. I already have the Brother Scan N Chop 350 and the Brother 650 (available only at sewing stores/no online). I purchased the Cricut Maker to see the differences. THERE ARE A LOT OF DIFFERENCES!!! But the Cricut is good, in it's own way. My Brother Scan N Chop 350 paid for itself in 8 weeks with online sales (Amazon/Ebay) of stencils and signs I was able to sell. I'm about 1/2 method done (in two months paying for the Scan N Chop 650/$750.00)....The Cricut is amazing, too,....but different. The Brothers are STAND ALONE MACHINES/no computer needed. I left a huge review on Amazon of the 350. You have a screen which tutorials the whole process. This frees up your computer for sales, marketing, emails, etc. The Cricut Maker MUST BE HOOKED UP TO SOME KIND OF COMPUTER or intelligent phone. I bought a little $200 tablet, and set it next in between my huge computer and my Cricut Maker. The smartphone uses the existing Wi-fi already in the house, and does not cost me anything additional each month. TO USE THE CRICUT, YOU MUST SUBSCRIBE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE. No if's, and's or but's. It is $5/mo for fonts only, and $10/mo for fonts, images, etc. Some photos cost more cash each. The huge plus the Cricut Maker has is all the fonts. My oh, my....SO MANY FONTS for the Maker and in Cricut Design Space. The Brother 350 has about 10 fonts, the 650 has about 16 fonts. The Maker has dozens and tons. For someone who makes their living doing graphic design, stencils, and wood signs...the Maker/Design Zone is paradise. Now that I invested in the $200 tablet, my Maker also has a "screen" ., like my Brother does. Using Cricut Design Zone is definitely SLOWER than using your Brother Scan N Chop ('cuz others are using it worldwide, too...not just you). Both Maker and Brother cut: cardstock, vinyl, kraft paper, light woods, felt, fabric, etc. You just need to purchase proper blades. That is the same. Both Maker and Brother require you to tend to/take care of your cutting mats. Light mats for light items, powerful mats/adhesives for heavier items. Sooooo, if you are just starting out: Brother Scan N Chop 350 is amazing to learn/no computer needed and no monthly fee. Brother 650 is even better, but about double the price...and you'll have to drive 30/60 miles to a sewing machine shop to obtain it. No computer/no monthly fee. When you're ready to rock...then the Maker. $400 for machine, another $100 for all the blades/mats. Then a computer/smart phone/tablet to actually have a "screen"/$100-$200; then the monthly fee: $5/$10......If you like to be able to chop AND use your computer/phone simultaneously, you might not like it. I'll be making a Youtube video soon to present people all 3 of my machines: Cricut Maker, Brother ScanN Chop 350 and Brother ScanNCut 650 and see the differences....SO FAR SO GOOD. Like it.

Ever buy something on a whim, only to become addicted and go nuts using it? This is my addiction now. My sister-in-law has the previous model, and my brother was making me jealous with all his customized articles: clothing, mugs, banners, etc. So when this model came out, I had to have it! Now my husband is suffering through me customizing everything in our home. Curtains/plates/mugs/walls, everything is fair game. Can't wait for the wood cutting blade to come out, because then our furniture will suffer too! There is a learning curve with using this Cricut. I highly recommend watching YouTube videos on perfecting certain crafts you may wish to try. Some of the videos from random users don't really help: they go from explaining to skipping a few steps...and voila, excellent art; me sitting there staring at the screen wondering: now keep on!! How did you do THAT part?! The Cricut developer videos are really helpful: very short and informative. There is a lot of info though, broken up into short clips (love that btw), but it really doesn't stop me from trying to experiment on my own. The user software is really easy to use, and I love how I can do what I wish to create what I want. My 12 year old picked it up super fast...I had to place a password on my laptop to hold her from using the Cricut for the most random things!! Thankfully she hasn't realized that there's an app...I really recommend this for people who have fun a wide array of crafts/art/projects. It is easy to use, the results are stunning, and the learning curve is actually fun!

First, if you’re fresh to die cutting, expect a learning curve. Second, if you experience technical issues, contact cricut support; they are very helpful. The software is user friendly once you learn the ins and outs of it. Device connectivity is sometimes glitchy if you have a Mac computer but was easily resolved with support from cricut support. The Maker is the Cadillac of die cutting with endless projects that can be completed. To obtain it’s full use you really need to buy extra blades (to chop wood or leather). Despite a frustrating setup, I love my Maker.

    Cricut Blue Maker []  2021-4-7 19:59

Review update: want I could say that things got better, but they actually got worse. The machine developed a bug where it turns itself off, claiming that the connection to the machine has been interrupted (while all other devices working on the same connection have no issues at all). The machine does it in the middle of a cut, usually on the most expensive materials, ruining them. If left to its own, once turned back on, the possessed machine will then grab the mat back, and go over each chop twice, ruining the rest of the material, damaging the mat, and filling inside of the machine with little paper shreds. We will be returning this possessed heap of junk and requesting a compensation from the company for the cost of damaged materials.I bought this machine for my wife. She wrote the following review:"Here are my thoughts on Cricut Maker or, to be precise, everything wrong with it. Cricut Maker is not a finished product, it is a raw prototype. The Cricut squad probably were pressed to release the machine before the holidays, and the effect is clearly visible. Few more months in the development - and it might have been a unbelievable tool. It is not, at any measure, worth $400. Maybe $100 or $200, that would be e machine is buggier than an anthill. First, it does not work with original vector files, such as .cdr and .au. Say what?.. A cutting machine that does not accept vector files?.. That, by itself, already sounds like a poor cond, it has severe sizing and calibration issues. I uploaded a 0.75" x 0.5" shape into it and chop it out. Only I could not search the shape. After using my magnifying glass, I finally noticed 3 mm x 5 mm shape that the machine chop out. Calibration is off by approximately 0.25" (about 0.5 cm). In other words, if you position your shape to begin at 1:1, machine will chop it at 1.25":1.25". The only other cutting machine with such severe placement problem I have ever seen were the buggy old laser cutters, close to the end of their useful ird, direct consequence of calibration problem is that the machine wastes material like there is no tomorrow. Definitely not a amazing tool if you are trying to do a commercial production with rth, the machine does not only waste your materials, it wastes your time as well. Once you upload your design, its placement will obtain completely messed up and spread all over the mat. So you go and painstakingly set up the zone for each part. You think you are done and ready to make?.. You wish! On the cutting set up screen you will need to repeat same process all over again, because all of your parts will be laid out in a fth, there is no meaningful manual. You will obtain a cute colourful book which is not very useful, and will be left to figure out things all by yourself. For example, the mat zone is 12" x 12". Go test to do "Write then cut" option for 12" x 12" You cannot. It has a various size. Not a word about it in the xth, the broken promises which create Cricut squad look very foolish. The ads read "You can chop wood with the fresh Knife Blade!" Oops, no knife blade, only a Fb modernize which basically says that Cricut does not know when they will have the Knife Blade ready. Then there is an instructional video on YouTube which says "Remove the protective cap from the Fine Point Blade and insert the blade into the cartridge". Underneath that video, there are a lot of comments, all saying basically the same thing "Which cap?.. Mine did not come with any cap!" Oops. Mine did not come with it either. Cricut Maker is advertised as a superb tool to create cards. But it does not come with a scoring tool, so you can't really fold the cards you create very easily. Oops. In my opinion, too a lot of oopses for $th, the mats. They are basically trash. Just yesterday tried to chop some adhesive foil. Which is on the Cricut's list of the materials that the Maker is supposed to be able to cut. Removed the foil, which removed the paint and some of the gripping media from the mat, which, in turn, got embedded under the foil and showed really well on the surface that the foil was applied to. Again, the waste of time and waste of conclude, I am not impressed to say the least. The only advantages I found the machine to have are that it cuts relatively quick and that it is relatively quiet when it is working. Of course, I might be judging too harsh. I am an advanced crafter used to working with precision machines, such as laser cutters. However, based on my experience, I do not believe that Cricut Maker is suitable for professional makers and as such, should not be called Maker. If you are a hobbyist and like to create cards or small stuffed animals, this machine will work fine for you (after you buy the separate scoring stylus that is). If you are a serious maker, most likely it will not. I will be looking for a various option for myself."

    Cricut Maker, Blue []  2020-6-19 18:8

I wrote this review as a caution to other “Makers” who may be interested in this product.I was excited when I saw the Cricut maker, with it’s indexable rotary cutter and knife blade. I have a drag knife that I use with a vacuum table on my CNC router, but sometimes its just too huge of a pain to obtain it set up for little projects. I though this Maker machine would replace my drag knife, at least on little projects. In general, I think the machine has amazing potential, assuming it functions as advertised. (I was not able to actually use the machine before I returned it)The issue is with their design software. I’m sure the machine works well for someone cutting quilt blocks, scrapbooking or cutting iron-on’s, but does not work well for applications requiring dimensional are a few of the problems I found:1. The knife blade is not yet available (I knew that going in, but it is now more than 6 months since it was first promised) There are a lot of review websites touting it’s virtues, but it is not clear if anyone, outside of Cricut, has actually seen one in true life.2. His device works only when connected to the Cricut cloud. (for windows users) Every other peripheral device I use, from desktop printer to CNC plasma cutter, will work without an internet connection. Most have some way of working autonomously via SD card or local network connection to network storage. Not so with Cricut, as they must bless every design before allowing it to stream to one of their devices.3. You MUST use the Cricut Design Zone cloud software for all designs. Although you can import graphics from other software, the final design to be sent to the cutter exists only in the cloud within the “Design Space” application.4. THE DEAL BREAKER: There is no precise method to scale or position elements within the Design zone application. Although you can change the “Size” and “Position” within the app, these are actually the size of a bounding box around the object, and the position of the center of that bounding box. When objects on various layers are not symmetric, the resulting bounding box positions are completely meaningless. Their current workflow is; nudge, stretch, cut, adjust, repeat. A complete waste of time and materials, given that you design was of the correct size and position before it was conclusion, this device has amazing potential, but has been rendered useless for dimensionally accurate projects by poorly designed software. If Cricut really wish to expand into the “Maker” space, I think these shortcomings will need to be addressed.

Okay, I have wanted a Cricut for a literal decade and I'm SO HAPPY this is my first Cricut because it is INCREDIBLE! I also never leave reviews for anything unless it changes my life haha so you know I'm serious! To start, I am a novice and knew nothing about how to use this machine or what they cut. I just heard people love the Cricut and it looked fun but I had no idea the Maker would be this amazing. I looked at older models and saw that in order to chop fabric, you had to apply heat and bond. Honestly, if I had to do that to chop any fabric, I never would have chop fabric. It would be an absolute pain. The Cricut Maker cuts fabric, felt, leather and denim like butter. And how do you chop it? Just slap it on the sticky mat! What?! So easy!Figuring out the Cricut Design zone was so insanely simple too. I had a couple photos I wanted to use and uploading them to the website and placing it wherever I wish it to be chop is so awesome. That rotary blade is so precise, I was so impressed. It cuts lace and delicate material perfectly. And then really thick synthetic leather, not a problem! My favorite thing so far has been cutting felt. It's SO EASY!!! In a few hours I created several dozen flowers and bows---oh my goodness! Do you know that I have been making felt bows and flowers by hand for years for fun and not only were they poorly shaped, they took me a MILLION YEARS!I am so excited about the neat things to do with the Cricut Maker and I will definitely be trying heat transfer vinyl soon. We create matching Disney shirts and either pay t-shirt companies a ton of cash or do that crappy printer paper iron on items but now I can do HTV with the Cricut Maker and I am so excited to play!!!Seriously, if you are a novice or an expert and are wondering if you need this--YES YOU NEED THIS!!!!! It is 100% worth every single penny. I am in loooooove! Here are a few of the flowers I created in seriously a couple hours in the image below.

    Cricut Blue Maker []  2021-4-7 19:59

Regarding the machine not cutting at all since being taken out of the box and my efforts to obtain it working using on line support and two calls to Cricut customer service:UPDATE: I’ve spoken to customer service twice and a number of experienced Cricut Maker users. I completed all their recommendations (which included buying a NEW mat when the mat that came with the machine was only a few days old and never been through a successful cut) .....this @#$%!14.99. Because experienced users cited how critical critical a tight adhesion is to the mat, I spent $17 for a brayer that rolls over the fabric on the mat. The brayer is a snappy tool but it didn’t obtain the fabric secured any more tightly than running a credit card over cause Cricut customer service doesn’t take calls on weekend, I tried their on line support and chat support without success. I was referred to the manual. So right at 9AM Monday I called Cricut customer service. After being on line listening to sugary sweet melody for 35 mins I talked to customer service. They instructed me to send a video and there could be no guarantee as to when the video would be reviewed by their tech team. It could be 1 to 3 days.I followed all their instructions and have sent the video to customer service. I’ve attached this video to this updated review.Original review:I’m an appliqué quilter as a little business and chop hundreds of pieces of appliqué a month. When I read about the Cricut Maker I absolutely had to have it. My usual process was to draw my appliqué on heat n bond then iron the heat n bond onto the fabric then cut.WELL with Cricut I chop just as much. You don’t obtain a clean cut. The fabric stays attached and you can’t pull it apart or the fabric gets distorted. I’ve tried the various pressure choices, with and without heat n bond AND spent time with Cricut customer sically the YouTube reviews and Cricut Customer Service says that’s normal and to overlook the strings. Honestly, it’s easier to use my original process. Pulling the appliqué out makes a mess crinkling the fabric and causing strings and pulls. Frankly it’s easier to chop the appliqué out of a drawn piece rather than chop out a piece that Cricut touched. The only method to obtain a clean chop from Cricut is to literally chop around the appliqué very carefully being sure to chop only the strings that are attached. Otherwise you run the risk of distortion and pulled fibers.I’m likely going to return it but I’m very disappointed. I thought this would be a android game changer for my business.

Beware! This machine is like a gateway and can lead too addictions. Once you have it, you search you need vinyl and paper and markers. You think you can run into a craft shop and pick up some white heat transfer vinyl and come out wth six bags and have spent $287.42 and and then have to return to obtain the white htv. You begin working on a project when you have a few minutes, next thing you know, the sun is coming up and your boss is calling asking why you aren't at work. Dinner has not been cooked for a week, but all of your canisters are labeled. Your family knows better than to ask you to buy a shirt wth a logo, because you can just create it, right after you obtain on Amazon and order more supplies. UPS is in no danger of going out of business because you are now on a first name basis with your local driver and have created him a travel mug for his coffee. Allow me tell you, nothing like having vinyl stuck to different locations when you go out in public to create you a well known, or maybe, it's well remembered, fashion statement. On the amazing side, since you are busy with your hands, you can't eat as much, so if you need to lose weight, this machine is for you! Do you have insomnia? Perfect! Now you have something to do I the middle of the night! ping ends up method various too. All of a sudden, you look at things differently, hey, I could place vinyl on that! I will buy 362 of these small bags so I can deviate them for class bonuses for my kids, their children and their children have a mate or family member that never leaves you alone? Buy this machine for them! You will never see them again AND obtain custom bonuses in return. Victory win!Easy to use, so the kiddos can use it for school projects. Decorate your house, create cards, obtain ready for holidays. Send someone a thoughtful card or tell them to obtain lost, all wth one machine!

I purchased this machine for my sister telling her that my own silhouette machine has issue with Print & Cut.1-[PRINT & CUT ISSUE]..I actually convinced her that this will support her to run her little crafty business. I did not use it for a couple month since I was supposed to send it overseas for her(too massive could not mail it so I was waiting for someone to take it for me) Anyhow today I gave it a test while I was making my son's birthday cards ready. I had 16 Chase Hero on a piece of cardstock which I wanted the machine to chop only around the edge of each one of them. The first two sets chop terribly so I called customer service and they told me that the machine needs to be calibrated. I spent about 3 hours doing the calibration and none of the chop samples even during the calibration and after that was perfect. I am talking about cutting a rectangle and a square shape nothing complicated etc.2-[software issue] I did test to print the shapes using the Cricut Software to see if this helps, but no luck. still getting out of border cut. I did arrange the paper, checked the paper size, the positioning numbers, etc etc. Did not work!!! I have to say that I work with a handful of the Graphic program so understanding the software was not an problem here but the software itself lacks the adjustments or fixing even does not have a find button or support button on top so at least you can obtain support while you are in design e software freezes a lot of a lot of times and it is very frustrating since sometimes it does freeze in the middle of your work or during calibration and you need to begin from the beginning.3.[software is only available online] it means that you can not use it while you don't have access to internet, it might not be an problem here in Canada or Us but it definitely will be an problem for other countries which they have limited access to Internet or even for people who pay for the Internet base on their usage, not on a monthly basis.4.[Membership] you need to obtain a membership in order to use the photos and already created template on the website. They don't allow you see what is available so you need to pay for the membership and cross your finger wishing the design that you are looking for is available in their selections. I did not search what I was looking for and comparing to my Silhouette store, I found it very very limited. For my Silhouette machine, I could purchase each design separately and they are mostly under 1 dollar but here you pay for the membership and still need to pay for some designs which of course it is the one you need it!!5.[Sound] when I purchased this machine having sound while cutting was another concern for me since my own Silhouette machine makes lots of noises and we both(I and my sister) work when our children are sleeping. The sound is method louder than their advertisements so be aware if it is your concern.6.[Weight & dimension] I mention this since it was a concern for me it is very massive and the dimension is method bigger than being able to carry it in your carry-on during a flight. so you need to send it as a separate pack and [email protected]#$%! does not damage. So if you travel a lot and you need to take this machine with you or you purchase it here and wish to take it with you to your county, think again.7.[Accessories & material Cost] if you wish to use this machine for the various material you need to have various blades and blades and other accessories are expensive.8.[Mat] the mat is very very tacky and even the light grip one ruins your delicate papers so while this machine might chop your design on delicate papers (and in my experience on a regular 60-80 lb cardstock), it will ruin your design after since you won't be able to remove it from the mat without damaging your design or your paper/cardstock.I mentioned this to customer service and they told me that I need to purchase certain accessories with it, Why an expensive machine like this does not supply you with what you need for even your first primary cut? All my cardstocks and paper(during practice time) rolled or jammed or even ripped while trying to removing it from the mat.9.[cutting edges are not perfect) I have tried a couple design(from the Cricut Store)expecting that at least that one would be excellent but unfortunately the edges were not fine even after changing it a few times so it either does not chop you materials fully or it does hurt the mat underneath even with the recommended blades pressure etc which came as a default for the paper that I used. I have tried to adjust the pressure but it really did not support that S:e machine looks attractive and has sleek design and this is the only positive comment that I can ere are a lot of more problems that I found with this machine and mainly maybe becasue I am comparing this with my old Silhouette machine and wondering why they did not come up with a better design comparing to that old machine. I want I could have used this machine sooner so I could return it and now we are stuck with this expensive useless machine and I don't think that they would take it back since I have not found their help customer service very helpful.I have some images from the fact that I explained above and maybe I can share a video demonstrating it, but I will upload that later.

I bought a Cricut Discover Air 2 not too long ago. I was/am in LOVE with that machine. So much that I balked when a neighbor wanted to buy it. I didn't know the Maker was coming when I bought my Air 2. Since I primarily work with textiles the Maker was the better option for my needs. So, I bought mine today. I brought it home, unboxed it and the husband decided HE wanted to support (insert eye roll). Well, since I am wearing my "I love my husband" shirt, I had to allow him help and since I had no "help" with my Air 2, I allow him do all the work as I read him the instructions.I think we will be ordering his Maker soon. HA! No, in all seriousness, I do not know how I lived without this machine before today.I love having the ability to chop fabrics without having to back them with heat and bond or some other stabilizer. The cutting of felt is also a HUGE selling factor. Since we don't have access to the wood cutting blade, I cannot attest to it's wood cutting ability but if it is like the rest of the Cricut line-up, I am sure it will live up to the is a bit heavier than the Discover series but that doesn't bother me. It is still light enough that you can take it with you on the street if you [email protected]#$%!& will also fit nicely in the existing hard side Cricut bags created for the Discover series. Sweet! If you are familiar with the fresh sewing patterns that Cricut offers though, you will wish to invest in a 12x24 mat right away as a lot of of the patterns require the longer mat. Other than that, I am super happy with this machine, the accessories and the Cricut brand. Well, all except their no-coupon policy. THAT could change and I would be a customer for life.I might add too, that you can purchase your Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) from other vendors besides Cricut and they work just as well, if not better. Especially for UV protected auto/marine Vinyl products.

    Cricut Maker, Blue []  2020-6-19 18:8

    Cricut Blue Maker []  2021-4-7 19:59

Don’t buy this piece of crap. They are implementing a 20 upload limit to the software used to access the machine unless you pay a subscription fee.

Your browser does not help HTML5 video.  These mats were exactly what I was looking for. They are more grippy than the green mats which I actually prefer for my vinyl projects. The glitter vinyl I posted a video of is super thick and this mat has no issue keeping it in put and keeping it from rolling up. Definitely save your cash by buying these instead of the Cricut brand

I just purchased myself a fresh Cameo 4 and have been using it a lot, for a number various projects at the same time. Having three additional sticky cutting mats lets me do all my cutting first, then I can go back and do the weeding and transferring all at once. This is an perfect time saver and also lessens the time I need to have the huge cutter taking up zone on my table. The mats seems to work just as well as the one that came with my machine.

This is my second set of mats from this seller. This is my first time purchasing a firm grip mat. There are 3 mats in a package which makes this a very amazing deal! The grip is unbelievable and holds little pieces of rolled vinyl perfectly. I am very happy with these!

I love these StrongGrip mats for cutting fabric on my Cricut Maker. I’ve tried Cricut’s fabric mats and they just don’t stay sticky long enough to grip the fabric while it’s being chop and marked for my mask . I’m using a mat anywhere from 20-50x a week. A package of 3 lasts me about 2 months. I’ve also used them to chop basswood for name puzzles, but if you don’t watch your project carefully, the knife will eventually chop through your mat.

I was hesitant to order these at first, but I saw that I could return them if I wasn't satisfied with them and decided to give them a test because they were a amazing price and exactly what I was looking for. When they arrived I was happy with the thickness of each sheet as well as how huge each sleeve was. My husband inherited a baseball card collection from his step father when he passed away and he wanted to replace the sleeves that they came in as they were about 30 years old or e cards slide in the sleeve easily so there's no need to worry about bending or ruining your cards. They also don't slip or slide out which is nice for protection as well, which is the whole point of having these.Overall I am very happy with this purchase and will most likely need to order another package to keep all the cards he has, and I will without a doubt order this same one again.

These card sleeves are amazing for my son’s Pokémon cards! There are so a lot of of them for a amazing price! I love that the single sleeves are thin enough and fit just right so that there isn’t much additional room and the cards still fit in the card holder box we have and they can still be used for android game playing with the sleeves on. The huge sheets are amazing to organize them all in a notebook. I’ll definitely be ordering more of these as his card collection grows!
