Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander Book 1) []  2020-1-29 1:44

"This cannot be happening. This is not possible. This cannot be happening. Yet in the forefront of her mind, realist that she was, she understood that the words can't and impossible had not bearing when the impossible was indeed happening.Unless she woke up soon from a nightmarish and vivid dream, she was in Scotland, the year 1513, and she was indeed getting married."FINAL DECISION: An enjoyable and interesting mix of genres, I thoroughly enjoyed the story but felt that the mixture was clunky at times. I was both compelled by the story and also felt that this book required more in the method of world-building to create this a amazing book. I would definitely read more based on the romance E STORY: Adrienne de Simone has been cured of the attraction to handsome men. After the horrible experience, Adrienne knows that she will never trust a handsome man again. For this reason, Adrienne is chosen by a vengeful fey to bring her back in time almost 500 years in to torment the fey's enemy.Highlander Sidheach James Lyon Douglas, third earl of Dalkeith, known as The Hawk, has been a womanizer and has become a amazing lover. When the queen of the fey praises him too much, the Fae king and fool seek revenge by saddling him with a wife who will never love him and might even be persuaded to betray him. As a effect of their intervention, Adrienne ends up taking the put of the Hawk's betrothed. Adrienne and The Hawk start an contentious relationship. While the Hawk begins to fall for his wife, Adrienne remains committed to not being foolish e two have to confront Adrienne's distrust, Hawk's painful past and lovers, and the enmity of the Fae.OPINION: I thought this book was an intriguing mix of genres. That was one of its amazing strengths because it felt intriguing and [email protected]#$%!&? was also its greatest weakness because the mix didn't always mesh well. In the years since this book was written, a lot of authors have taken to the mixing of genres and this early innovator suffers a bit in comparison. That being said, I enjoyed the romance and the interaction between the characters and I am willing to read more of the series to see how Moning developed the mixture of genres in future e interaction between Adrienne and Hawk was a highlight of the book for me. Hawk was not what I expected in the book. It was especially nice to see such a strong, sexy, handsome historical hero who really just wanted peace and a family. I liked how Hawk is a small clueless about how to have a relationship with Adrienne and continues to create mistakes that complicate his courtship. The book includes an interesting twist about his reputation with women that gives him a sympathetic past. At the same time, his painful past was written in a lighter fashion than I generally prefer. Despite his history (and that of Adrienne as well) the emphasis in the book is on the show story. While the characters have a history, it is quickly subsumed in the drama of the rienne is a modern woman who is swept into the past. One of the issues I had with the book was that she didn't seem to have any problem with adapting to the past. There was small time to the disorientation that would have to result. (I thought that the related A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR by Jude Deveraux did a better job with dealing with that complication). But this book seems to be more of a paranormal fantasy book in that regard than a real for the romance, I loved it and really connected with the characters. If this had been written as a historical or time-travel book, I might have given it a higher rating. At the same time, the paranormal elements are what create this book special and memorable. I just felt that this book reads as a historical/time-travel in which the paranormal elements were not integrated as well. The Fae seem a bit disjointed from the rest of the book because they remain without a real history or world. There is some of the feel of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM where the fairies interfere with the mortal world, but the Fae here feel less developed than I need to truly love this book. While I didn't love this book, I was intrigued and fascinated by it and the possibilities as the author developed her craft further. This was my first book by Moning, but I definitely will continue reading the series.WORTH MENTIONING: This book mixes paranormal, historical and time-travel. It definitely pushes the boundaries of what can be expected in one romance NNECTED BOOKS: BEYOND THE HIGHLAND MIST is the first book in the Highlander RATING: I give this book 3.5 stars.

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander Book 1) []  2020-1-29 1:44

I read the entire Fever Series (by Karen Marie Moning) first and then discovered that the Highlander books were linked (some overlapping characters). So I was excited to read this book but I must warn those who are fans of the Fever Series-- these books are WAY different. (1) the writing style is not as developed by the author and some of what is written is kind of cheesy and cliche (2) this storyline is a straight up romance with none of the action sequences or developed secondary characters of the Fever Series (3) there is nothing of the brilliance and detail of the Fever far book 1 of the Highlander books pales in comparison to the intricate info of the Fever Series but I would recommend if it you wanted something to pass the time before the next Fever Series book comes out. If you are looking lots of tensions, dominating males fighting over one woman, and admittedly very well written scenes then this is the book for you.

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander Book 1) []  2020-1-29 1:44

Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning was the first paranormal romance I ever read.10+ years ago the only books I’d read that could even remotely be compared to PNR or UF were Anne Rice books (and if any of you have read Anne Rice books, you know that they are so not the same). I don’t think I even picked up my first modern (not Narnia or LOTR) fantasy until my freshman year of college (The Eye of the Globe by Robert Jordan).I’m sure that all the Vivian Vande Velde, Robin McKinley, and Christopher Pike books I read when I was a teenager set the scene for the love of all things supernatural I developed as an adult, but for whatever reason, there was a five(ish)-year gap after high school in which I never managed to stumble across anything that could pass as either of my favorite genres today (the aforementioned PNR and UF).And I was so bored.Enter one of my sisters who was always reading the historical romances that she began filching from our maternal grandmother (not the fairy tale-reading grandmother) at WAY too early an age. She was always trying to obtain me to read some bodice-ripper or another, but it just wasn’t my thing. Then she brings one that she swears I’ll LOVE.*squints in disbelief*“No, really,” she says, and then explains that this is not just a historical romance, this is a paranormal/historical romance. A paranormal/historical romance in which a hot, evil ver of Puck drags a woman scorned from the modern globe back in time 500 years to the Scottish highlands.Fairies, you say?Back in time, you say?Hmmm . . .So I gave it a shot. And I loved it. I read all seven books in the series, and then several years later, continued on to read the (loosely) connected Fever series (which I loved even more). Come to think of it, the Fever series was my very first foray into UF, so that makes a Karen Marie Moning book responsible for my introduction to both of my favorite genres. C-R-A-Z-Y. Anyway, loving the Fever books even more than the Highlander books created the Highlander books take a back seat in my mind. I don’t think, in hindsight, that I fully appreciated how amazing they were. It was a finished series. I didn’t reread them, like I did the Fever series, every time a fresh book came at’s my story and I’m sticking to quick forward to this past weekend.I’m bored. I hate my ovaries. Historical romance is sounding good-ish to my nutso hormones, but not exactly right . . . I know! I’ll reread those really amazing Karen Marie Moning historical/time-travel PNR books. YES!!!Best idea I’ve had in a long, LONG time. It was hilarious. It was HOT. It was sweet. It was clever. Our heroine is an orphaned hater-of-pretty-men who is on the run from her past. Our character is just GAH—a literal legend among men AND fairies alike (which is why both character and heroine search themselves in their predicament, incidentally). There are crazy Gypsies, fairies in disguise as smokin’ hot blacksmiths, AND (my private favorite thing about PNR vs. UF) an absolutely sublime HEA—as it turns out, nutso hormones are all about the instant gratification when it comes to sically, if you’ve never read them, or it’s been a while since you latest did—READ THEM. It’s an perfect method to spend an overcast (and cranky) weekend afternoon.

This was a amazing book and very well written, BUT it definitely was not a book would read again. I rated the 5 stars because it deserved it and not because it was my kind of read. I can see how most would love this e h was a complete B up to 65% of the book and I really hated that. There was reason but I just don't like that in what is supposed to a romance novel. The H was so unbelievable to her and she was so poor no matter what he did. I have a true issue with that. Maybe up to 35% would have been fine but not 65 to 70% of a book. It's just not what I like to read. I finished simply because there were so a lot of other things to enjoy. My heart truly went out to the H. Half the time I spent wishing he would just throw the h over a cliff. To be honest I never really felt like the h was amazing enough for the H. I realize that a lot of people would have rated the book MUCH lower if they felt the method I did about the h, but I don't see that as being fair to the author. The h was just a private preference in a romance. I'm truly on the fence about reading the next book in the series simply based on my hate of the h, BUT there were so a lot of amazing aspects of this book that it leaves me wanting to read the next. I only hope the h in the next one isn't anywhere near as poor as the one in the first book.If your looking for a book filled with amazing scenes this book is not the one for you. Nothing happens until 70% and considering the H is supposed to be god it sorely lacked in that department. When it FINALLY happened it was not at all what I expected. That gave me another reason to be on the fence about reading the next in the series. I know there are people who don't like much in their reads, so if your fine with that then you'll love this book.

Beyond the Highland Mist: Highlander, Book 1 []  2020-4-3 19:20

Hawk was known to most women in his area. He was a skilled warrior and no woman ever refused him. When a fairy queen threw his name out there to her king, the king plotted for revenge. He sent his cohort to the future to search a woman who would say no. Adrienne de Simone was pulled out of 20th century Seattle and forced to marry Hawk. With plots versus them being together, but there is something that pulls them together. Adrienne wars everything in her to resist Hawk but she can't stop what she is feeling. I wanted to like this book but unfortunately I found it dragged on and felt the author took too long to tell the story. I did however like the story and it had a very "Outlander" feel to it and that is why it earned 3 stars from me.

This is the worst Moning book I have read and I have read all of them. The heroine, if you can call her that, was cruel through 3/4 of the book. It was difficult to obtain through this book because she was vicious. I tried to read to the end, but it was too painful to finish. I have read hundreds of romance novels and never once did I search the heroine to be emotionally abusive. It was that bad. If you wish to read the Highlander series, skip the first one. The rest are actually great. There is no need to read the first one unless you like to read about emotional anguish. Moning really missed the tag on this first book, however the rest of the series is 5 stars.

Beyond the Highland Mist: Highlander, Book 1 []  2020-4-3 19:20

This is Karen Marie Moning with the begin to obtain unbelievable Highlander Series. Now after reading the horrible reviews because they all read her Fever Series first. I say Bull to you all. This is her first book. A time travel one at that. A heroine from 1997 Fresh Orleans and plucked from the future to 1513 Scotland because she hated attractive men. This premise is the sole reason why she was found by the Fae to teach a lesson to a highland laird who never had a issue getting ese low reviews have a theme and are not taking any acc of having a modern independent woman finding her method in a strange time and put without losing her mind and making her insane or mad, like her namesake Angry Janet Comyn she was created to assume her identity to save her life and those of the other women working in the Comyn hold where she landed literally in time.I am sick and tired of these righteous tools giving 1-2 star reviews based solely on not accepting the difference between our modern time and the past in the more barbarous time of 1513 Highlanders with kings doing whatever they wish and decree to bring a laird taking care of his hold and guild safe but obey his long or s it was brutal, women had no rights, anyone could be beaten, tortured, killed, raped or anything else on a man's whim. It was a tough life. A lot of die young, rape was a given, not the crime it is today. So barring all this brutality as a normal given to all hardworking women in clans, they did it to survive. No just existing, more hungry than not, bare necessities, no luxury anything. It was a various world. Do not compare to now. It was survival of the fittest, strongest, smart and cunning. You lived by your wits and women were replaceable as chattel. They coked, cleaned and kept by men to warm their bed when they wanted but treated rough as usual. So no more crowing on that. It was the times, a lot of were not educated, they did not read it write except those wealthy enough to afford it. You were lucky to live to your 20-30s with all your limbs intact and not maimed or you were dead. Death in childbirth was the norm for the young teens 12-17 which were considered women back when. You were never a kid past 8-9 years old. 10-12 year olds had to work too, females had and a lot of married by 13. They almost had to because they died so young. So obtain over your high horse attitudes about rape, it was constant and normal. It was a method of life for females, whether you liked it or not. Yes it was not nice or fair, but so was life then too. Men had to war young. A lot of teens never created it to 20. They fought for king or clan. And they were always fighting one reason or another. So life was brutal for everyone. Only those wealthy had a semblance of a better life, but even that hard. Take Hawk here, fighting for the king, who our of spite and revenge lords it over both the Douglas and Comyn keeps and clans. If they do not obey everyone will be killed and murdered down to the latest of their Guild wiped out. Could you live back then from the future. No. You would not survive in that brutal time unless you got is is the quandary presented to both Hawk and Adrienne, caught between the King and the Fae. Their wishes and desires mean nothing to those ruling over them and they are just pawns being played into a chess android game of someone else controlling them. So wise up readers, take into consideration everyone in this books performing like characters in a play.Highlander Series is the first from KMM and Fever Series is at least a decade later and a various sort of genre too. The Fever Series and all subsequent books were not written as a romance but a dark tale which while she goes in some of the highlander clams it is not like the Highlander Series at all. They are sort of a precursor to set up her Fever Series with the Seelie and Un-seelie Far courts with some background thing in the Highland clans. Just note they are very various series that have a thread thing them is all. You can read Fever Series with our ever reading the Highlander Series but reading Highlanders first can set you up to understand the Fever Series better. Okay enough to set background in the times, notes and cultural differences between ages and e common denominator between the series is The Fae courts, the light and dark. This is a huge in this series too, the author is setting is up in this series on how it works and those here you are introduced to Adam Black, he along with his Fae Queen are the 2 Fae that are in this Highlander Series and their roles are pivtal. You fall in love with Adam and you learn his story. He gets his own story in Immortal Highlander. So because of Adam and the Queen this is the Prequel to the later Fever Series and beyond. Gotta love them both in their own ways, but you search out more about them. Their are always ruled to follow no matter who they are.I hope you have fun this initial book with Sidheach and Adrienne. Remember they are products of their times is all and they are like they are because of all their life experience.

The book is not well written, the characters are two-dimensional and the "Hero" is rienne makes it clear she is not interested, but he keeps pursuing her and threatens to lock her in a room, damage her and rape her because he believes this will create her love him.Why do so a lot of romance novels think it is ok to play off non-consent and threats of rape as sexy and romantic. It is not.If you tried to read Outlander, but had to place it away because of the rape and abuse scenes, this book is not for you. It is not even well written.

UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS BOOK, DON'T STOP AT THIS FIRST OF 7 VOLUMES, EACH VOLUME EXPLAINS SOME OF THE PREVIOUS AND HELPS UNDERSTAND LATER VOLUMES - THEN ONCE READ, GO BACK AND RE-READ THEM AGAIN- You'll love the end resultThe fact that this is the first of 7 books in a series is unfortunate and I really hope that others do what I did - purchased them all at the same time through Amazon's unbelievable Mass Shop paperback media. I was then able to read them in her written sequence one immediately after another so that the read became a series of "acts" in a long play, rather than a finished production after each book. To those who didn't particularly care for the hero of the "heroine", you will inevitably fall in love with any or most of the other six in the series, but facts in each book, are important to create sense in other of the books.. For the writer that is concerned with "factual" Scotland, I say, obviously that you prefer "probable to possible". After all, western Europe was exposed to Eastern delicacies like coffee and tea since the 11the century and the opening of the silk trade route. In a globe of fae, and beserkers, time travel and Adam Black, anything is possible if one believes in an omnipotent diety.I focus on personality and hero interaction through detail within a story and attempt to "create" in my own mind, what the author was omitting from a story. Because it is a series, it implies that there is some connection between what appears on the surface to be three totally unrelated groups of characters, held together only by their interaction with the fae world. The sifting from central hero groups and centuries was a bid disconcerting but by the latest book, the relationships were a bit clearer AND, re-reading the series after knowing more about the interactions, created the info more visible, the actions more "ah-h, that's why!" and the reading more interesting. Im on my third read and there is still stuff to be discovered within the words of the author and the story she weaves. In the end, Adam became my favorite hero even though he began as the one that everyone loves to hate- but then "bad boys" viz James Dean and Robert Mitchum, were always my favorite. LOL

POSSIBLE SPOILERS:He's an experienced womanizer and fairly proud of it. He's a rogue and laughs at his reputation as a prowess. He's a living legend among women and they clamor over him. He's also honorable, compassionate and chivalrous. With his long black hair and piercing dark eyes, Sidheach James Lyon Douglas [aka; "Hawk"], is built like a viking warrior...and he's earned the wrath of Finnbheare, King of the Fae. Yeah, King Finnbheare is jealous of Hawks popular womanizing reputation and plays a cruel jest on him. He allows a woman from the future - - one who harbors a unique hatred for attractive men such as Hawk - - to travel 500 years back in time. He brings Adrienne de Simone, originally from Fresh Orleans (recently from Seattle) back in time to the 16th century and then sit's back and enjoys watching Hawk grovel at her feet while she spurns his 's 1997 and Adrienne de Simone is alone in the globe and running from the law. She hides from everyone and trusts no one. She's feisty, intelligent and resigned to living her life alone with her cat. And one moment she's in her 20th Century home, minding her own business, and the next moment the floor disappears from under her feet and she's sitting in the lap of a revolting, belching, smelly, fat and old Scotsman. She literally fell through one of Alices' Rabbit holes! And if not for the disgusting strange man she was now staring at, she'd had thought she was dreaming. But Adrienne takes it all in stride. She's first and foremost, a survivor. And when she discovers she's to marry the legendary Laird Sidheach Douglas, she rolls her eyes. Lord!...what did she do to warrant marrying a materialistic, unfaithful, conceited, inconsiderate, self-indulgent playboy?I absolutely adore this author and have read everything she's published. I initially read this story years ago and decided it was time for a reread. This story simply has all the qualities that contribute to good, entertaining, reading enjoyment. The plot is well laid out and with all the hijinxs of the Fae world, all the twists and turns....it always stays real and never disintegrates. Full of hilarious dialogue balanced nicely with original narrative.

LOL

Beyond the Highland Mist: Highlander, Book 1 []  2020-4-3 19:20

Beyond the Highland Mist: Highlander, Book 1 []  2020-4-3 19:20

Beyond the Highland Mist: Highlander, Book 1 []  2020-4-3 19:20

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander Book 1) []  2020-1-29 1:44

I was disappointed with this book. The writing was amazing except the fact that beauty was enphasized throughout above morals or personality. The MC's were just so beautiful. I couldn't understand how Adrienne fell in love with a man for his beauty. And vise versa. They did obtain to know each other after a while but it felt false to me. When Hawk would command Adrienne to do something, she would give him attitude but eventually she would allow it go because he was so beautiful. And the manipulation! I was a small offended that a woman could be 'trained' that way. Total turn off.I can't place my finger on it. I know this is a horrible review because usually I can explain it better. It just rubbed me teh wrong way.I am glad the ending wasn't a cliffhanger, I would have been @#$%ed.

The Reckoners Series Boxed Set []  2020-1-23 0:7

Every Brandon Sanderson work is a masterpiece. That being said, this isn't his best work, nor is it his worst. Like all his books, this was full of twists and surprises, clever banter, and engaging action. I couldn't place it down and enjoyed every minute, even though it didn't quite have the same magical polish as Mistborn or Stormlight so, note that this set is missing his novella Mitosis which occurs between the first and second book. I recommend grabbing that as well to read where it belongs, however, that novella isn't vital to the story nor is it quite as amazing as the rest of this series. But without it, the beginning of the second book won't feel quite as smooth.

First, I am a large Sanderson fan. Most of his books and series mesmerize me and I can't place them down. I had just finished (not) the Oathbringer series and was ravenous for more Sanderson. I saw the Reckoners... wow an entire trilogy I had not read.I guess this series was targeted at the teen market, which is OK. The books reads like a TV present series, with super heroes and super villains. Ever since the appearance of Calamity, a red comet in the sky, "Epics" are being created. There are just random people are infected with super powers, which inevitably turn them into evil overlords. The Reckoners are a human strike squad out to conquer them. Each Epic has a "weakness" that can be exploited by the Reckoners to slay them at's about it. They meet a lot of Epics and slay them. Over and over. There is a somewhat deep under-current of "What is Calamity?" and "How did this happen?"... but nothing is answered until the latest book I felt the ending and Calamity's origin was a bit s, I did have a lot of fun with the Reckoners, but after coming down from Sanderson's high fantasy I experienced a bit of a allow down. But you should read it! It goes very quickly and is not-stop action. Maybe it will be animated series someday.

There's no getting around it. This is essentially X-Men if X-Men were all driven evil. There's some interesting differences but ultimately it comes down to people have super powers and everyone is evil and a group of ordinary people's struggle to redeem humanity.

The White Hart Series: Complete Boxed Set [Book]  2017-11-6 18:0

I read a sample , not knowing what to expect. I enjoyed it and immediately bought the rest of the series. Yes, there's magic and lots of nature (which is magic by itself), lots of soul searching, and it's not overwinded, it doesn't go on and on, and to me that was a relief and enjoyable. I suppose you could argue about the book itself, but what most books come down to in the end is the war between amazing and bad. This is a relatively easy book and yet it's brevity is completely in place, and so I liked it!

The Nickie Savage Series Boxed Set [Book]  2018-6-22 18:0

I was hooked on R.T. Wolfe's books in the first chapter of Black Creek Burning (first book of her Black Creek Series). I love a series that the characters have powerful family connections! The suspenseful story lines are special and not the run of the mill predictable. And the Reed men do love their wives! When you fall in love with characters, it's hard to say good-bye at the end of the latest book of a series! And in the latest book of the Burning Creek Series, we were introduced to Detective Nickie Savage and she got her own Nickie Savage Series taking along Nathan Reed and his family from Black Creek!. The Nickie/Nathan story is incredible! Yes, the topic of trafficking is beautiful intense but the author presents it in method without too a lot of explicit details. And there's so much more to each story line including Nathan being able to recall everything that he sees especially in a crime scene. In each book, some things are resolved but end with "unfinished" business leading into the next book. You won't be able to place them down!

I wanted to love this, I had a heart time reading it and I couldn't place my finger on it. I was so satisfied when I finished the box set until I realized there are still two extra books. I think my problem is that while I love how much they loved each other, Savage tended to completely dominate Duncan's thoughts to the point where I felt like he was emotionally stunted. Is saying that a bit much? Probably but I felt like he crossed the line from devoted husband to emotionally unbalanced.

WOW!! This series is absolutely awesome! The story line is perfect and I was hooked from the very first page. It wasn't always simple to like Nickie -- she has a chip on her shoulder. It is understandable why she is like that -- she was abducted by a kid trafficking ring when she was 14. Duncan is oh-so-swoon-worthy and you'll fall in love with him right from the is series is a spinoff of the Black Creek series. You don't have to read it before reading this series, but I would suggest that you do (although a lot of background story/ info is given in these books).

I had read two books in this series previously. I will read as I GHTING IRISH - The summer camp is run by a family that has owned it for generations. The parents run the camp with the children helping out where they can. The camp is for very wealthy kids so the families' children are not encouraged to mix with the wealthy children. Britt comes to camp every summer and the son has a crush on her. He does not create mates even though Britt is a sweet girl and is kind to him. He loses track of her but years later she calls and books the camp for her wedding. He is happy to have the business but crushed that she is getting married. But then she calls and cancels because she has called the wedding off. Then she books a cabin for herself to come and obtain away from it all. Really amazing love story. I definitely recommend ILING IRISH-LOVING IRISH-CATCHING IRISH- I did not like the heroine at the beginning. She is very with her goodies and has with just about every guy she meets. She has a lot of heartbreak that makes her who she is. Misguided but still she is protecting her heart. Raised by a riverboat Captain she has very rough edges. It was a amazing story after I got into the book and I definitely recommend it.I was not for these reviews. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. Somehow I got through book one, giving it the benefit of the doubt since it was a special story but 31% in book 2 was all I could e protagonist started off powerful or as powerful as can be expected when she was suffering from abuse and isolation. The anger and for the most part her motivations created some sense at first, but her arrogant attitude and selfishness created me slowly hate her. It's one thing to be afraid and lash out at people, and I understand a hero making stupid mistakes if she learns from them, but I've never known a hero who suffered what she did only to act bratty and entitled. From a psychological standpoint it wasn't adding up and everyone's motivations lacked realism. I know this is fantasy but if characters don't act realistic in relation to certain established hero motivations and traumatic events, then nothing makes any sense. Too a lot of contradictions. You can't have her be a survivor who doesn't care what others think and doesn't play by anyone's rules, only to have her worry about her photo and insist on dressing in famous human name brand fashion from a globe that is currently not only at battle but burning. This is post apocalyptic, who's making and the cashmere sweaters??I really did test to have fun this, but I think the obsession with cakes was the straw that broke this camels back.

Craig's writing is just plain amazing. The characters are real. They have true feelings and thoughts, and you are part of the day to day lives of their tales. In this story, he takes on the horrible situation of human trafficking, and develops a true living story about the main character`s heroism in Vietnam and relates it to a horrible tragic loss of a young girl. As usual, he also brings out the tribulations faced by Native Americans in the United States. You will laugh out loud, cry a small bit, and smile a lot reading this awesome book.

Outstanding! Craig Johnson is a terrific author. The characters are authentic and believable. It's not often that a book series comes along that is as amazing as this. The setting in Wyoming and the refences to Native American culture are interesting and ese books are right up there with Michael Connelly's books with Harry Bosch and the Prey books by John Sanford with Lucas Davenport as the main hero as far as quality. My husband and I are continuing with the whole will not be disappointed. And after you read the books catch the series on Netflix. I cant believe that A&E got rid of it but Netflix was intelligent enough to pick it up and add a few more seasons.

Alright, Im a sucker for a cute cover and I usually see what everyone is saying, or sometimes I just grab a random book to read to test someone fresh and I really really wanted to like this. I read it all because I grabbed it and I kept hoping the writing would mature as it went a long. Only problem. It ere is literally no hero arc. The hero is the same throughout it all. Her struggles don't really change her, oh maybe for a few pages then shes right back to being her. And I don't mind shes an arrogant, spoiled, self centered brat, thats amazing but give her some actual growth. And how a lot of times do I have to see Cass Baby, or all these other things like every sentence? And saying friend every time they talk to her. Okay ...just..Yeah the story base is cute, could be fun but the writing ruined it for me. Im going to read more of her stuff, every writer starts somewhere and they always obtain better but this one. I dont think I could consider it ever again.

I love the hero of Walt Longmire and the Longmire books by Craig Johnson. I like the TV series, too, but the books are so much better--much more plot and hero development. My husband, parents, and sister are now hooked on the books, too. We can't wait until the recent Longmire book comes out. This boxed set of the first four books is a amazing method to obtain started on the series--at a amazing price.

I am a small late to the Longmire party, but I was talking to a mate of mine about my favorite author, Tag Reps who wrote the Zeb Hanks: Little City Sheriff Huge Time Problem series, and she suggested the Longmire books would be similar. Needless to say I was excited about another author like Reps who combined Native American traditions with crime solving in the style of Tony Hillerman. These books did not disappoint. Walt Longmire is a multi-layered hero much like my favorite sheriff, Zeb Hanks. The books will definitely keep your interest.

War of the Gods Complete Series Boxed Set: Books 1-4: a Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance []  2020-1-16 10:33

I read each of these books separately, but having them all in one put is not only the best method to read them it's also an awesome deal.A Court of Blood and VoidThe hero of Cass spoke to me on some deep level. Her pain, fear, distrust, anger, hate, and desire for vengeance mixed with her need to be loved, her desire to trust, her joy at the easy things, and fear that vengeance wouldn't come were so realistic and honest. I was there with her through all of it. I love her mix of teen attitude and womanly desires. I love her vulnerability and the method she would sometimes use attraction to achieve the love she needs. It feels true and speaks to the abuse she suffered at the hands of someone who would tell her it was all done because of love. I love the blend of knowing that the story takes put in modern time, yet still has a touch of historical themes due to the Immortal Realm. Just like Cass, I felt a fondness for Reysalor from the very beginning, and even though Lorcan means her no hurt I found it a small harder to trust him. It wasn't until Alaric and Pyrder appear that I understood why Lorcan seemed so distant and created me wary. The romance in this story isn't instant love, although there is instant lust, and it moves at a natural pace. The men give Cass time to obtain to know them and develop that trust that she so desires. I'm anxious to search out more about why Cass was really locked away and who is to blame. I dying to watch the relationships between Cass and her men grow. The build up for the final war to save the globe has been growing for a while now and knowing that the end is getting closer fills me with both excitement and sorrow because I hate endings. For now, I'm going to sit back and have fun this fantastical, action-packed, steamy read and I suggest you do the same.A Court of Fire and MetalThis book is everything I expected and more! Cass is such a fabulous character. She is a walking contradiction, and I love her for it. One moment she is mature beyond her years, and the next she is like a spoiled teenager. She is stubborn and demanding, and then she turns around and surprises you with her generosity. She is exactly how I imagine someone who had been kept locked up for years would be. She wants to experience everything right now, and then worries about the future. Her relationships with her men are progressing at a excellent pace and I love that each of them appeal to a various part of her personality. They have figured out that she won't be bossed around and she isn't afraid to remind them of that fact when they forget. They mostly just sit back and allow her do her thing, which leads to a lot of humorous moments. There are also moments of steamy passion, danger and excitement, and lots of eating. Cass is learning more and more about her powers. She is making fresh friends, and fresh enemies, and discovering that things aren't exactly how she thought they were. After reading this one, I'm left with more questions than answers. Who can Cass trust? Who isn't being totally honest? What powers has she still not discovered? Who will stand with her and who will be versus in this war for the world? And the most pressing question, will anyone ever stand between her and her cake? Inquiring minds wish to know! I can't wait for the next one and I think EVERYONE should read this book!A Court of Ice and WindSomeone actually came between Cass and her cake. I'm not going to tell you who, but I will tell you that it doesn't latest long and she quickly returns to loving her favorite food. I swear my jaw hit the floor when I read that. With every book in this series, I love Cass more and more. She is still that unbelievable blend of immaturity and fearless God that I have fun so much. She is still the spunky, kick-a**, hard-outer-shell-with-a-gooey-center, protector and destroyer. I love her recklessness and her fake it til you create it take on every situation. I love the method her men spoil her and treat her like the treasure she is. I love the method she is collecting mates and protectors while at the same time snubbing her nose at all her ings are starting to peak in this one. Fresh opponents are encountered, fresh alliances are formed, and things obtain a small bit darker for Cass. She is starting to obtain more information on who she really is and just what she's capable of (YAY!) but that knowledge brings her to the attention of people she isn't quite ready to with. There is pain in this one. Not everything is a bed of roses and there is sorrow mingled in with the joy, but that is what happens when you go to battle with the Gods.I love this series. I love Meg's writing style and the method her words pick me up and put me in the story like I'm living it. I love the bits of humor and the glimpses of dark that coexist in this world. I am enjoying tagging along while Cass grows into herself and all the struggles that go with that. The story is fast-paced and has plenty of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is also passion and romance that heats you up and melts your heart. I am once again waiting impatiently for the next book in this series and I highly recommend this and every other book by this author.A Court of Earth and AetherYES!! This ending was everything I expect from Meg. It was an insane, crazy ride and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I devoured the words and then would curse myself for reading it so quickly. I didn't wish it to end. Cass as a dragon was even better than I expected. She is fierce, stubborn, independent, and funny. I can't forget the moments of humor because it's one of my favorite things about Meg's writing. Her characters are witty, and I love it. I was also satisfied to see that she got to eat plenty of cake, lol. I can't even look at cake without thinking of Cass anymore. It's a charming part of her and about the only thing that can stop her in her tracks when she is on a rampage. I was satisfied to see that even after Cass became a dragon she maintained that blend of rebellious teen/siren/bad-a** chick that I have loved so much. I love the method her men are always behind her, no matter what, and create everyone else back off, too. Without giving away any spoilers, I'm not really sure what else to say. There are dozens of surprises, dozens of action and fighting, dozens of humorous interactions and sexy scenes, too. It's a very enjoyable read, and I can't wait to see what Meg's imagination will come up with next.

If you have fun TV's "Longmire," you're in for a huge treatI bought this set for a friend. I own all of the dead tree editions of these books, and I also have purchased the audio books on Craig Johnson is a phenomenal writer who creates complex, fully-formed characters. I can't obtain enough of his books. I discovered a while back that although reading the books was quite satisfying, hearing them narrated by George Guidall captured info I had not fully appreciated before. I shared an hour of the Mr. Johnson's first book, "The Cold Dish," with my friend, who, as I predicted, was hooked from the beginning. He's going to love this set.

I had watched all three seasons of Longmire several times, but wanted to know more about some of the characters than short episodes could provide. The books fleshed out the characters, explained their backgrounds and how they came to be where they were. Once started, I couldn't place them down and have now ordered the next three books in chronological order. I am, and will continue to be, a avid Longmire fan as well as an avid fan of Craig Johnson and how he writes. Once read or watched, you'll be hooked.

Allow me start by stating that I am not an avid book reader. I rarely search books that will keep my attention long enough to [email protected]#$%!. I have fun the Longmire series on Netflix and thought I test reading the books. I found myself reading late into the night and I actually lost an entire hour of time while reading. I was happy that some of the characters on the series are, indeed, written into the books, although, described differently in personality and appearance. There is no Branch Connelly, but instead, Turk Connelly who isn't like Branch much at all. All in all, a amazing solid read from beginning to end.

I have been a fan of the Longmire series since the beginning. Recently I saw the name of the author the series was based on, and I had to search out more. I have always preferred the original books to any films or TV series based on books. I was not disappointed! The depth of the characters and insights into current social problems and morality is gripping. I just finished #4, and can't wait to begin the next! I will always love the TV series because it is so well done and much better than the usual items in TV, but I am so satisfied that I can discover the depths of the characters further. Thank you Craig Johnson! Please hold writing!

I really enjoyed the first 4 Walt Longmire Mysteries! I saw the TV present and wanted to obtain a small more background on the characters, so I purchased this 4 volume set. It was great! Craig Johnson is a amazing writer and the stories are GREAT! It was amazing background information for the characters in the TV show. Although, naturally, the book surpasses the TV series hands down!THE ONE disappointing thing from Amazon, is that the next 4 volumes (5 through 8) ARE NOT available for Kindle. I can one through ten, but I already have the first four! It appears that Amazon dropped the 5 through 8 bundle in 2014. If you are still 1 through 4, then why don't you have a bundle beginning with 5?!

The Obedient Boxed Set [Book]  2018-2-18 18:0

I've never met a Julia Kent book that I didn't like. In fact, I push her books on friends, family and anyone who will listen as though I'm getting some kickback fromthem. (I'm not, btw, just to clarify. When I believe in something, I'm sort of a force of nature about it. Unstoppable.)Not a lot of things create me really laugh. The short ver of why has nothing to do with not finding things amusing or not having a sense of humor. No, it's the predictability of most things - if I see it coming from a mile off, it won't catch me by surprise and the element of surprise is what does ry few authors can pull this feat off and Julia Kent is one of them. That's one out of two total authors in the past year who have had me crying, gasping for breath and hoping not to pee my pants due to laughing so my expectations are always set beautiful high for anything she writes. Now, you're wondering why I didn't rate this at 5 stars, right?I have to be honest in my review because otherwise, what's the point? The reason is that this one isn't my favorite series by Julia Kent. It wasn't terrible, there wasn't anything wrong other than I didn't bond with the characters like I have in her other books.I'm not sure what didn't do it for me. The jokes were there, the premise was a amazing one and I liked the characters. I just didn't LOVE them. In fact, Michael created me wish to smack him upside his e first book was like watching an Olympic gymnast perform beautifully...but she doesn't stick the landing. The ending of the first book was that sort of awkward - it didn't stick the landing.I'm still not hating on these, they'll do if you need a hit of the drug that is Julia's writing. You may like this series the best. I can't obtain on board with the betrayal aspect and hope that it gets better in the second and third books.(I finished the first one but will read the other two soon as I bought mine seperately. Obtain this bundle it's an amazing bargain!)I still all things Julia Kent, but this series hasn't been my favorite thus far. I'm not really motivated to read the other two books yet. I hope that someone else loves these characters...but they're not my favorites. The Random and Billionaires characters are hard to top. I like how all of her various series tie together to overlap. Madge, the waitress in Billionaires and Random is the link to the Obedient series as its about her granddaughter. If you've read all the Randoms, Darla tells Madge to not judge her granddaughter's ménage - this is that granddaughter.

I purchased the first & third one on nook and 2nd on my kindle but received a box set and am currently re-reading all of them again. I love Julia Kent as an author!! I have almost every single one of her books and have just currently re-read the Shopping for a Billionaire Series again. Hilarious and she always has characters that are so down to earth and I feel like I can relate to the characters in her books. I was really pulled back into the Maliciously Obedient (book 1) when I re-read it the other night (my plan was on reading for a hour and going to bed, 3 hours later and that didn't quite work out). I was really rooting for Lydia and Mike and when I started the 2nd book (Suspiciously Obedient) I was feeling very poor for Lydia and was a small worried about her and Jeremy's relationship development, but even having read these before, Julia does such a amazing job that you feel all the feelings again, and I again stayed up too late and am part method through the latest one (Deliciously Obedient) and am going along with all my feelings, and I know that I will soon be re-reading the Complicated Series again so I can catch up with Lydia, Mike & Jeremy. Thanks so much Julia Kent for all your awesome stories!! I want I was a millionaire so that I could not have to stop reading your books because I have to go to work.

Julia Kent does it all. This lady is by far the funniest author I have ever read and I read a lot. lol. I loved reading about Lydia, Mike & Jeremy, don't be afraid of the FMM books. I was a bit sceptical at first, but as always Julia has a method of writing about this relationship in a attractive and realistic method that kinda makes me feel like I'm missing out on something, hahaha. Julia has the awesome ability to create her characters relatable in everyway, you read it and your like 'That's me all over" or "that's something my mates or family would say" or "is there a camera following my life around?". I loved that we got to see the infamous Madge from Jeddy's, appearances from characters or mentions from her other series "Her Billionaires"& " Random Acts". Conversations between characters are hilarious, I don't think ill be able to hear the words 'Brown chicken, Brown cow' again and not roll around laughing. These books are awesome and me writing about them, will never give these books or any of her other books the they Maliciously Obedient : We are introduced to career driven Lydia who has been working the same job for 2yrs and hasn't gotten anyway. Along comes Matt Jones who walks into a position that Lydia has wanted, not the best romantic start. Small does she know that Matt, is in fact her huge boss and owner of the company and ladies man Mike Bournham doing an undercover boss television series. As time goes on, temptation gets the better of them, but certain things happens an then we are left on a cliffhanger. But don't fret, as this is a boxset and you don't need to Suspiciously Obedient : After a scandal is spread worldwide, Mike send Lydia to Iceland for a job in his other office to escape the media circus. While she is there, he sends his bestfriend Jeremy to hold an eye on her. Don't know whether that was a intelligent choice ;) While Mike escapes to Lydia's parents campground (under an alias of course), Jeremy and Lydia obtain to know one another, there is definitely attraction. But Lydia cant stop thinking about Mike, she is homesick and just lost as a Deliciously Obedient : Lydia is back in Maine, at her parents Campground with her boyfriend Jeremy. She thinks Mike Bournham has vanished off the face of the earth, small does she know that Mike is a lot closer than she thinks. After her family is struck with a tradegy, she realises life is short and that she needs to create a decision once and for all. But then she is given an option that didn't know she wants or also that it doesn't fit in to the stereotypical norm of relationships. She cant really do that, can she??!!JULIA KENT, NEVER EVER EVER STOP WRITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Books about triads are usually not my favorites, but this isn't the first one I have read by Julia Kent. She handles it with fun and flair. The first book in the series with Mike and Lydia and their blossoming relationship. Lydia and Mike work at the same company and Lydia feels Mike has stolen her job, but she is still seriously attracted to him. Mike is actually the CEO of the company working undercover. Suffice it to say that things happen and Lydia is sent away to obtain away from the press. Mike sends Jeremy to hold an eye on her. Book two is about Lydia and Jeremy and how their relationship grows. They come to depend on each other and develop a bond that is various than what Lydia has with Mike. Book three finds them all together at Lydia's family's campground. This book is really emotional and there is a lot of love, anger, and confusion floating around. This book really shows how they grow to help and care about one another. There are also some steamy scenes. These books aren't dark by any means, there are lots of hilarious events to hold it lighter. I loved all these, and love how she manages to take a delicate subject and handle it with flair.

First off, allow me say, judging a book by it's cover is a huge mistake in this case (especially if you are looking for a certain type of book.) I didn't read the blurb about this box set, so I went in thinking it was going to be related to other 'Fifty Shades' type of books..based solely on the title and cover. I've read the Shopping for a Billionaire and Random Acts series by this author and loved them. (Loved the humor.) I assumed this was going to be a various style for her. Thought it was going to be more serious or subdued. Boy was I wrong! It was so much better! :) As I mentioned already, I love humor in my books, and this one had it plenty. If you are familiar with the authors other books, you know her humor. The humor isn't as silly/outrageous as it is in the other series', but it's there. It has that billionaire aspect, but the the man(men) have isn't as thrown in your face as a lot of billionaire romances. The guy didn't whisk the girl away on his personal jet or anything like that. It wasn't over flowing with unnecessary scenes. Don't obtain me wrong, there was A LOT of it mentioned and talked about, but the actually act was very minimal and well played out. Just the right amount and at the right times. The deeper theme to the story line is a bit taboo. A three person relationship. It's well written and reads easily and smoothly. I would recommend it for mature audiences because of the nature.

The story was amazing and I enjoyed reading it. I wasn't satisfied about the fact that I read three books and still didn't reach the end of the story...technically. Essentially, without giving anything any, the globe starts to end at the end of the third book but you don't know what happens unless you begin reading some other series of books. And, from what I gather, the majority of people in these three books don't carry over into this other series AND the ones that do carry over, only create brief appearances. But, overall I enjoyed the writing and the building of the characters.

This is an awesome book set. This series will hold you on your toes and you will not wish it to rsed - This book is amazing. It is filled with romance, love, friendship, heartache, forgiveness, and some surprises you never would have seen. I love the love story between Lilly and Brand. Lilly is awesome girl with unbelievable mates and family. The supporting characters in this book really complement the main characters which was a pleasure to read. As a reader I like supporting characters to have as a lot of powerful traits as the main characters. I definitely found this in "Cursed" with Utha Mae, Tara, Will, Abby, and Malcolm.Blessed - In the continuation of Lilly and Brand’s story, “Blessed” brings out a lot of emotions and tugs on your heartstrings. It is a well written and enjoyable middle book of the series. For me sometimes the middle book of a trilogy can be a bit boring, kind of like a middle movie. Blessed wasn’t. It drew my attention from the beginning and had me biting my nails during the intense parts. Brand became even more swoon worthy and Malcolm so much more endearing. Lilly becomes stronger and more confident as she adjusts to all that happens in her life in a short period of time. There are more supporting characters introduced – some you’ll love, others will have your skin rgiven - Wow what an ending of an wonderful trilogy. “Forgiven”, book three of The Watchers Trilogy by S. J. West, is a ride of emotions. You will feel everything that the characters go through and it is totally worth it. Lilly and Brand are awesome duo and with the faith in each other and in God wars to the end with the final war with Lucifer. The supporting characters, Malcolm, Will, Tara, Utha Mae, and even Cora, Lilly’s mother become stronger characters in this final book. As a reader you really develop a sense of forgiveness, loyalty, family strength, and love in this book.S. J. West did an awesome job with the Watcher’s Trilogy. Don’t miss this series.

This is my fresh favorite series, the books just kept getting better and better, LOVE them.I really enjoyed the characters and i really didn't really care for Lilly's mom in the beginning, but towards the end of the book i got to liking her i am so glad she became likable. I wanted to obtain to know Malik a small better though, but i am so satisfied that Tara found him.I can't wait to read other books from SJ West...

Amazing book for teens. It was entertaining and the characters were well developed. It also contained some humor, hot guys and romance, but all at a level of good, clean fun. There is no situations and the author steers clear of poor language.

The main hero has some amazing qualities, but she builds her entire life around a guy she met like, a month ago. She started with a powerful resolve and then she turns to jelly. What is the point of having powerful principles if you break them the second a you think you love a guy. There are grammatical errors and some of the side characters are very poorly developed. Tara's choices just don't create sense some times. A lot of plot convience. A lot of smut.

The Watchers Trilogy Boxed Set (The Watchers Series Boxed Set Book 1) []  2020-4-8 18:26

The best word I can use to describe my experience reading this series is 'conflicted'. I say that because there were so a lot of times when I could do nothing but roll my eyes at some of the scenes that took put in this book. Much of it was lacking a lot of body, things happened too quickly and much of the story line was very tweenish. However, I also couldn't stop reading because I just HAD to know how the series would end. What was so unique about Lilly that created all the other Watchers desire her so?The fast and instant attraction and "love" that developed between Lilly and Brand was boring and I found myself forever rooting for the old flame and childhood best friend, Will to search Lilly's heart again but it just never seemed to happen. Heck, I even started to hope that maybe Malcom would end up stealing her away. Brand was just too excellent and far too e degree of cheese and common high school drama was also a lot of take in and yet there was a multitude of tension brought out via the many, a lot of makeout sessions that it was obvious this book was intended for an older , conflicted it was although I doubt I would recommend the series to any of my fellows or read it again myself other than that, it wasn't too bad.

This is an EXCELLENT read. Thank goodness it's a boxed set as I devoured the books!!!!! Lilly discovers she's not an ordinary girl and that humans are not the only ones occupying the earth. Angels, Demons, the Fae.... and everything/ everyone seems to be drawn/ centred around her! Something catastrophic is going to happen and she could be the cause... Can she prevent it..... Friendship and Real Love is what keeps Lilly sane. As you read this book, the story unfolds before you in Technicolor. The author has you on the edge of your seat in anticipation of what will transpire.

Loved this series! If you love reading books about Fallen Angels and them search love again. I would read this!Cursed: Loved this book from beginning to end. Lilly is an awesome character. She is down to earth and has regular girl issues like any other girl. Want I had a mate like Tara she is crazy but so protective of Lilly. It's the type of friendship any girl would love to have with someone. I had my ups and downs with Will but I'm glad he is just mates with Lilly. Brand oh man I love Bran he is so perfect. I want I could have someone like him. But Malcolm yum. I loved all the characters and can't wait to read the next book to see what happens with all of them.Blessed: I got a copy of the book in exchange for an honest I couldn't place this book down. I had to hold reading do I could search out more about Lilly and what she could be. I loved seeing Brand and Lilly's relationship grow. Now I can't figure out if I love Malcolm or Brand more. If you read cursed and haven't read this you need too. A lot more info is learned can't wait to read the next rgiven: Omg wow! So much happened in this idk where to begin. This was such an awesome series. I laughed, cried, and smiled so much in this book. I still can't obtain over how it ended. I'm so satisfied with how everything turned out for Brand and Lily. Loved how at one point you thought something was going to happen but then it ended up being something completely various then what you thought. I can't wait to read more about the others. Their stories seem like it would be so interesting. Such an awesome job Sj!

The Ink Romance Series: The Entire Series, Boxed Set []  2020-1-22 22:14

In the past I have read erotica. I am not ashamed of it but admittedly I have only read ones that were online like on literotica. Those were fun but the quality was always mixed and always too short. I have never actually invested anymore of my time until I was recommended this series. So this contains the whole set of books and I have only read into the first one. Fortunately, I am enjoying it so far. My main concern with any fiction is the main hero because I do not wish to go on an erotic adventure with a douchebag. I won't go into anymore info because the surprise and circumstance is apart of the fun. Though, I will say that I recommend it. Unique note, there are no horrific typos so far. It is so sad that needs to be mentioned nowadays.

The Ink Romance Series: The Entire Series, Boxed Set []  2020-1-22 22:14

This is the second series I have read by Bridget Taylor, and I like it even better than the though it definitely is a part of the erotica genre, it is also a romantic aspect that mirrors the dilemma of a lot of modern women -- is staying with what is comfortable and healthiest for us, logically speaking, settling? Is it the intelligent thing to pass on something like that to pursue danger and excitement? How much weight should be given to the arguments of the mind over the desires of the flesh? The setting is described often in clear detail, and the pace is fast enough to hold you entertained, but not so quick that you race through the juicy bits. It is fairly well example of the genre, and you'll definitely obtain your money's worth.

The Ink Romance Series: The Entire Series, Boxed Set []  2020-1-22 22:14

This 5 book novel series was a amazing for getting all 5. The prose by Bridget Taylor is simple to follow and reads related to how the main character, Leslie, might actually speak. Without any spoilers, this series is very related to other erotic series like 50 Shades, so if you liked that you will like pending on your personality, you'll take a lot of things away form how the characters interact and the psychology behind Leslie. At times, you can sympathize with how she feels; at other times, you'll wish to shout at her for irrationality- and then you'll realize that you're not all that different. Aside from the hero dynamics, the erotic excerpts are very tasteful and worth the read. 5 stars for 5 books from me!

I love it when I search an author who keeps me wanting more. The beauty of this amazing 5-book set is that you don't have to stop at just one book or wait for the next to come out a year later. Bridget Taylor has made characters that are interesting and at a lot of times, relatable in both Leslie and Kane. You search yourself cheering Leslie on and then in the next chapter, trying to figure out why she would create certain decisions. While this is definitely in the erotica genre, romance is a huge aspect of the storyline. This series follows the path of ups and downs of most relationships. It with betrayal and shortcomings as well as the joy and successes. LIke a lot of of the other reviewers, I highly recommend this series to readers who enjoyed 50 Shades of Grey. It's not the same, but there are a lot of layers that will bring it to mind while you're reading it.

Leslie is content with her fantasy home, work at the monster asylum and her canine Flamingo. This is when Kane strolls into her life. He and workmanship closest companion the nearby and begin their piercing and tattoo shop. Leslie outrage and disturbance at her fresh neighbor rapidly dissolve into want. This book pursues their voyage of affection, double-crossing, and attempting to start once more. The book begins rapidly and the sentimental pressure erupts from the min the characters meet. The arrangement is fast past, energizing, and loaded with pressure. In the happening that you are an enthusiast of books like 50 Shades of Gray than this is the arrangement for you. I truly like getting the entire set and perusing them through in light of the insane cliffhangers between the books. This is a fun, fast, and exciting read. Leslie is a sweet character, and you truly pull for her all through the arrangement.

The Slip Trilogy Complete Boxed Set: A SciFi Dystopian Thriller []  2020-1-22 21:33

An awesome trilogy about family. When twins are born and you are only permitted to have one kid what would you do? Michael Kelly is faced with a tough decision that sets in motion life as Slip for Benson and life without his father for Harrison. As head Pop Con Michael Kelly raised Benson until he was eight and then set him on the roads of Saint Louis where he meets a squad mates who become his fresh family. This whole series is heart felt with family being it's main theme. It has horrible villains in Pop Con and the Destroyer along with Jarrod. You will feel a range of emotions while reading this trilogy. This is a amazing read.

    The Philip K. @#$% Collection: A Library of America Boxed Set []  2020-1-22 23:59

Amazing collection in a amazing pack for a amazing price! All first rate literature and essential science fiction! While all of the novel selections are top notch, they are not necessarily my choices. I do understand the logistical issue of deciding what to contain in the zone afforded, but there are four uncompromisable problems to mention. First and foremost, while the 3 book "Valis" sequence is included (and rightfully so), I personally search the original novel, "Radio Free Albemuth", of which "Valis" was re-worked into, is perhaps Philip K. @#$%'s finest work. BUY "RADIO FREE ALBEMUTH"! Secondly, Dick was a supremely prolific author, and none of his non-science fiction works are represented, which is a shame considering how truly affecting they are ("Confessions of a Crap Artist", for instance). Third, a volume of choice short stories ("Selected Stories of Philip K. Dick") would have been essential for a well rounded collection. Lastly, "The Shifting Realities of Philip K. Dick: Selected Literary and Philosophical Writings" is an perfect compilation of essays, speeches, etc. brings into context the themes and ideas from his writing into true world. And for the record, if I were the publisher working with the budget to only show the given number of pages, to accommodate my issues, I would substitute the novels "Martian Time-Slip", "Dr. Bloodmoney, or How We Got Along After the Bomb", and "A Maze of Death".Seriously though, don't allow my fan-rant prevent you from buying this set. It is a amazing set. Cheap, durable, compact. Once you have finished it, and whet your appetite for more Dick, branch out with the suggestions above!

I read the dweller saga first and it was amazing, then I came over to the country saga and it's even more David interlinks all the characters together is incredible. His writing makes you wish to know what happens next, to search out where on earth he is taking you and when you search out it's just mind blowing.I would recommend this book to anyone that likes dystopia, humor, wit, and a small romance.
