We have been wanting this cooktop after extensive research on induction. It works fine but be aware!!1. It does NOT cool down immediately. You cannot place your hand or butter on it after you turn it off (both advertised)2. It does NOT heat up any faster and does not have more temp fine tuning than a regular electric.3. It comes with a baffle to install for heat deflection that is, well, baffling! The pre-drilled holes did not line up and our electrician could not install it. We called the GE tech number and they said they would send another in 10 days. Guess what.... same problem. Oh! And the warranty is void if you don’t install it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We also bought all fresh induction ready cookware In case you thought that was the problem. It looks very nice but we feel that the additional $$$ for induction is a large marketing gimmick. Sigh...

No surprises during installation, love regular cooking with this (super fast!), but the basic reason I chose this model was the bridge element. Unfortunately that is either broken on my model, or a lie.

The only method to go. Induction is the best. Much quicker heat up times, just need to change how you prepare meals as the heat is immediate. But once a pan is off the burner it is cool to the touch. No more burned water or meal wither!!

We rather nervously ordered this stove from Amazon. We had never cooked on induction before, had never ordered something so expensive from Amazon before. We thought our worst fears were realized when the stove was delivered and the box it was in was practically destroyed. There were holes in the side, the Styrofoam was smashed. I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars for the packaging that really wasn't study enough. We had an existing electric cooktop. It was very simple to pull out our old stove and swap this fresh one in. I was surprised just how simple it was. We have been cooking on the stove for 3 days and we LOVE it. It heats pots with high iron content in just a few seconds. We amaze all of our visitors with how quickly it brings water to a boil. Adjusting the temperature up or down has near instant results on the cooking is is such a a large improvement over the traditional radiant electric stove we were using. One note on pots- the stove is a bit fussy. We bought a fresh frying pan that claimed to be "induction ready". Its iron content was so low that the stove created weird noises, with the conductors turning on and off in protest. Switching to pots with higher iron content solved the problem. The stove is simple to clean and cools down quickly. Cooking is once again a delight,

This cooktop is great, we bought it to replace an old 30 inch GE cooktop and the fresh one fit right in and was simple to hookup. It's awesome how instantly cast iron pots heats up for blackening and boiling water is really fast as well. We were going to go gas, but I'm really satisfied we went induction. The stainless steel surround does obtain scratched is our only negative. We have had it over a year, hopefully it's long term durable.

I've had an induction cooktop for 11 years. LOVE induction! Bought this model as a replacement when my previous model (Kenmore) blew up. As this is a known issue with that model I decided not to the same one again. I've returned the GE Profile for the following reasons: 1) the listed product dimensions were not correct leaving a 1/8" gap on either side 2) my SS AllClad tea kettle, which worked fine on the latest cooktop, was not recognized on any burner- no tea!; 3) the number of power levels was insufficient (pasta is either boiling over or not boiling); 4) the huge burner heated unevenly; 5) the burners are too close together to be able to use all 4 at once; 6) the timer was annoying- additional steps and I felt like I was playing a slot machine every time the notification tone went off. Onto the next model...The seller, shipping and return process were fine!

Love it! We have had this for a few months and I love the induction cooking. There is a bit of a learning curve on this type of cooking what used to be an 8 on my electric stove top is now a 4. This is a amazing stove top I have had no problems with scratching or stains. I am very diligent in cleaning my stove top immediately after I have finished cooking. I would highly recommend this specific stove top it is amazing and I have had no problems what so ever.

    GE CHP95302MSS 30 Inch Induction Cooktop []  2019-12-10 18:2

Too early for a detailed review, but so far:- Installation was simple. I padded out the existing cutout bought a beeeeg junction box, and it dropped right in.- The analog controls are a significant convenience: just tap "On" and swipe to the desired heat level instead of tapping "+" and "-" buttons.- Boils the same pot of water that took 11 mins to boil on my 50-year-old GE cooktop in 3.5 minutes.- When the pot is removed, the burner zone is hot, but not burn-your-fingers hot.- Seems like granularity of heat control is as amazing as or better than gas.- Have spent at least two hours trying to invoke the "Precision Cooking" features. Been developing computer apps for 20+ years and I cannot create head nor tail out of either the GE or Hestan application UIs... So these features are basically usless until I figure them out or somebody overhauls the apps.- The elephant in the room is reliability. .. .. I have read quite a few negative reports on other GE induction troops - where some circuit board fails.. .. Time will tell.- The timer is a poor joke. .. .. No link to the burners, just a sound when it expires - and the sound is barely audible, even without a TV on in the same room. Maybe there's more in "Precision Cooking" but, until I can obtain that to work, the timer is a poor joke.- I am *hoping* that using a 4" sauce pan on one of the 7" burners will not hurt it. .. This seems to be an problem on some troops and GE is not clear in ths items I have read so far.- I am also *hoping* for some sort of automatic shutoff when a pot boils dry. .. Again, GE not clear and questions here have returned answers that do not address the question. .. .. Tried it briefly, but wimped out when the pot became quite hot.

    GE CHP95302MSS 30 Inch Induction Cooktop []  2019-12-10 18:2

I came from an old style coil stove, so this was a substantial step up in terms of control and features on a e good--Gorgeous finish and color. I really have fun the gray, and the lights and controls are very modern looking. As opposed to the red digital displays of years past.-The temperature control of induction is absolutely amazing. And this unit doesn't fail to deliver on that.-The cost of cookware has dropped significantly. You can now induction ready cookware for about the same as standard cookware. Plus all your cast iron will already work.-Precision cooking. With the included Hestan Cue pan, being able to control the temperature to the degree is beautiful neat, and I'll end up exploring this more as I obtain to know this appliance more.-Easy setup. The wireless connection and bluetooth setups were easy. Not super intuitive, and the application was a small cumbersome, but definitely easy.-Can heat and boil VERY fast. I can have pasta water boiling on the huge burner in under three minutes. That's beautiful e "meh"--I think I would have been happier had I had the zone for a 36" top. The 30 is great, but fitting more than three pans on at once can be a small tricky with the method the burners are laid out.-Selecting less expensive pans with low metal densities will create for noisy cooking. Every pan will hum and buzz at a various frequency. I've noticed the cheaper pans do so more and at more annoying frequencies. Cast iron is certainly the most quiet so far.-The controls can be sensitive when wiping down. It's not an issue, just an annoyance to have it beeping at me when I'm trying to clean e bad--One of the main reasons I purchased this specific cooktop was the ability to sync the two left burners. I have fun cooking bacon and searing on my lodge cast iron griddle. So the two seemed like a excellent fit. Unfortunately, because of the zone of the controls, you are severely limited on the griddle size you can use. If the griddle comes into contact with the control section (which it does) the cooktop will beep and meep until you move it, rendering the burners unusable. The only solution I've found so far, is to GE's griddle created specifically for this cook top (it's smaller and shaped more to contour the the cooking area) but I refuse to spend the on the overpriced piece of niche cookware. So it's unfortunately a feature I don't think I'll use anytime soon, despite purchasing it with that in mind. Kind of sucks.-The Cafe application is completely featureless and basic. You'll obtain an alert when the cook top is on, and that's about all it does. I'm honestly not sure what I was expecting here, but its basic.-This one could be something with my pan size in relation to the burner, but I've noticed sometimes you can definitely tell there's a coil below the pan you're heating. For example, when boiling water, you see a ring of bubbles coming from the bottom, rather than bubbles coming from the whole bottom. There could be other factors at play here, but I was under the impression induction reduces hot spots. I'm sure the respond lies in thermodynamics, and physics subjects I don't fully ne of the bads are enough to knock a star off in my opinion. I've really enjoyed using this cooktop.

    GE CHP95302MSS 30 Inch Induction Cooktop []  2019-12-10 18:2

Purchased and received this cooktop the end of June - it was installed by a licensed electrician in early August. Due to painting in my kitchen, it was under protective covering until a week ago when I was finally able to use it.I was extremely impressed with its rapid boil and simple to operate controls. I cooked a few meals on it and was extremely satisfied with it. It cleans easily and is very intuitive to use. The temperature controls are very responsive. Water boils very quickly, and if you turn the temp down, or off, the pot stops boiling IMMEDIATELY. It is as responsive as a gas cooktop, if not more.I had read some reviews that some of these cooktops have problems where the burner won't stay on and shuts right off. Unfortunately, I am one of the people now experiencing this same problem. I place on a huge pot to boil and all was going just fine - the pot was at a rolling boil and I added my pasta to the pot...and it shut off. It would not turn back on. The fan was running and would not shut off either. The 2 burners on the left work perfectly. The two burners on the right have not worked since Saturday (it's now Monday). The fan also never shut off and ran constantly since the burner shut off.I called GE's service line at 9AM and they had a service technician at my house by 11:30AM. He ran diagnostics on the unit and it seems like it has a poor module, possible loose connections, and possible problems with the user interface (the glass cooktop part with the controls). Replacement parts have been ordered and a return visit has been scheduled for a week from Wednesday to replace the entire unit. In the meantime I still have the use of the left side burners - and I feel confident that the issues are going to be rectified as quickly as possible.I so far satisfied with the sense of urgency in which GE service has responded to the issue. It's, of course, under warranty, so it's a minor inconvenience for me at this point to have to wait another 9 days for the stove to be fully functional.I will say that delivery of the unit was quick, and it arrived in pristine condition - extremely well packaged with no visible sign of any damage. My electrician installed it while I was away on vacation - my contractor did not advise me of any problems with installation.I do not think that the malfunction is the fault of the seller - I believe it is a known problem with these induction cooktops, and I expect once it is repaired that I will have no future problems - however I will look into an extended service warranty all the same.Once repaired I expect to go back to being extremely satisfied with the did come with a Hestancue saute pan which has a bluetooth compatible sensor that interfaces with both the cooktop and the Hestancue application on my smartphone. I did use it to create pancakes on Saturday morning, and I have to say they were the best I've ever made. The application walks you through the recipe and then cooking steps, and the stove and pan work together to automatically control the temperature of the pan throughout the process. The application is not the easiest to use and the directions/instructions are awkwardly written and could use some massaging from a technical writer--but I managed to obtain it to work without too much frustration. The application did quit on me several times during the cooking of the individual pancakes - but I muddled through it. Could use improvement - but is functional as is and is a very innovative feature that I do like a lot. I am glad the stovetop came with a pan because the pans themselves are quite costly and I do not think that I would shell out that kind of for one on my own. It is amazing to know what the pan can do - and I can decide at another time whether to invest in extra pieces.I've given this 3 Stars as this was the best I could search for the unit, and I do LOVE it (when operational). I knew that I might have this issue when I purchased it. I am confident that GE will create things right and they were fast to respond. If I had not had this issue it would be a 5 star review. I believe there was a possibility I'd have had this problem no matter where I purchased it.

Only been using ours for a month, but I'm really glad we switched from our hard-to-clean gas stove. The ability to adjust the temperature is far superior to the GE Cafe series gas stove we replaced. And the speed to heat a pan or boil a huge pot of water is something you just have to see. I managed to place a little scratch in the glass already, despite being obsessively careful--maybe all glass cook tops are prone to this, but the shiny surface will create scratches stand out a small more. Not a huge deal, but worth noting.

Bought this after renovating our kitchen. I am writing this review just 2 months shy of a year after purchase. I would not recommend as the circuit board goes out on this model. I have a GE tech at my house as we speak replacing the circuit board. Thank goodness it was under warranty as the part costs $1800. From what I hear, this is a common issue with this model and GE inductions. Do not or with warranty. Hope his helps.

Dynamic Deals was the only supplier that provided this through Fulfilled by Amazon and I required a replacement quick. This product was listed as NEW, but the pack I received had been opened previously and possibly installed. Two screws were missing from the package, the foam tape had been hastily repackaged but was missing a small over a foot, and most damning, there was fiberglass insulation caught in the strands of wire for the power cord. It might have been an begin box product or demo model maybe? Who to this model, I had the predecessor and the filter board blew up in just 7 years. The cost to repair it @#$%!1000, beautiful much the same as buying this unit new. I've got my fingers crossed that this one lasts longer.

Amazon came through on this one. A amazing stove that is as promised. Works well. Gives far more temperature control than other stovetops. Some chef mates of ours are moving from gas to induction because of the greater control. And it is simple to clean and maintain. Love it. As an aside, I initially ordered an induction cooktop from Lowes. They took my and two weeks later confessed they didn't have it and tried to me a conventional. I got a and ordered on Home Depot. Same thing, although it only took them a day to admit they didn't have it even though it was on their site. Ordered from Amazon and got it within days.

I bought this in March 2017. A couple of months ago the huge hob began making a very loud zapping noise if it is ever raised over level 5. Additionally, it is very slow to heat, and at high heat, doesn't obtain hot at all. This is not dependent on the cookware - I have tried all the cookware that previously worked fine. Obviously this isn't in warranty anymore, and the repair estimate is.....$921. That's right, the not good design of this product requires all hobs to be replaced when only one is bad, and so $921 is the repair. And - since it's only 1.5 years old, and the repair for one hob is more than 75% of the of the unit, it's is essentially disposable if it ever fails. Shame on you, GE - this is a not good product.

Cooktop was a replacement for a Sears branded radiant cooktop. Cutout dimensions were exact so it dropped in with no modifications. Unit removed was a 4wire where this one was a 3wire hookup but using instructions, no problems on installation. After a couple of months, unit has been great. Had to a few more induction capable pots and pans. It is awesome how quick unit will heat up cookware and just as quick to turn off the heat. You can clean up spatters surround the cookware while cooking since cooktop doesn't heat up and just as easily clean off the 'burner' once the pan is removed. Since cooktop does not obtain extremely hot, spills do not obtain baked on so cleanup is so simple compared to old radiant heat cooktop.

Okay I replaced my 17yo GE smooth-top electric with a fresh php9030 I bought myself for Christmas after doing some Consumer Reports research. I knew induction was going to be faster, I have chef mates and know they use it. I didn’t know how freaking quick it was though. Pot of water from tap to boiling in under half a minute. It is freaky fast, I really had to do it twice to allow it sink in. Cooking is about to change. Love it!

Three of the burners work great. I can bring 2 cups of water to a boil in about 1 mins 20 seconds on any of the smaller burners. With the exact same pot, which has a 9" diameter magnetic base and larger than the minimum 7" needed for the huge burner, it takes 6 mins to obtain to a boil. During that time I hear a clicking sound every few seconds which sounds like the relay turning off the element and then turning it on again.I've tried 4 various induction compatible cookware pots on the larger burner and they all behave the same. In theory the larger element is the most powerful, but in this case is basically unusable. I'm willing to work with GE to create it work. They have until the end of January, otherwise I'm returning it for a full refund.I had so much hope, but in hindsight I should have trusted the negative reviews. I think I'll test a Samsung next. Too poor they are almost double the cost, but perhaps there is a amazing reason to more.UPDATE 2/9/2018: I contacted GE near the beginning of January, explained the issue to the service rep, and she said she would contact a local repair company to send someone out to take a look. Since I heard nothing from anyone since then, two weeks later I boxed it all up and returned it for a full refund. I'm very satisfied I bought it from Amazon because they do full on appliances, unlike other stores, and they also for the return shipment. I'm now in the shop for a fresh Samsung NZ30M9880UB, which seems to be brand fresh and not yet listed with Amazon.

The product was delivered on time, installed 7/1 and performed flawlessly for 2 weeks. Then on 7/14 it popped twice when we turned it on and promptly died. Control panel works but burners no longer heat up. We contacted GE customer service who tried a restart that failed - she said it definitely has shorted out, and she said she would dispatch a local service man to repair it. That was Edmond Appliance Repair. After a few days of no contact (on 7/19), I called them and Dwayne came out and determined that yes indeed the boards had blown up and required to be replaced. He ordered the replacement parts through GE and they were delivered (twice!). One shipment was received on 7/25 and another identical set of boxes and same part numbers on 7/28. I have called and left voice messages for Edmond Appliance Repair on their office and cell phones on 7/28, 7/29 and 8/1 - no response, not even a text to say we got your message! I am escalating with GE tomorrow. Product failed in 2 weeks and now we have been without a cooktop for going on 3 more weeks.

Had it for 2 months now and very happy. Installed it myself to replace a 20yo GE radiant. All you've heard about induction is true. Only complaint is touch controls create it simple to inadvertently turn off burners if you errantly rest your hand on the control zone and sensor will shut off burner if you swirl a pan for an omelette too long.

GE Cafe C2S995SELSS 30 Inch Slide-in Dual Fuel Range with Sealed Burner Cooktop in Stainless Steel []  2020-6-28 18:5

This range is amazing. It is leaps and bounds above its predecessor. The Wi-Fi is kind of useless unless you remember to hit the button all the time but it heats well, and the Power Burner that can actually reduce all the method to a real simmer burner is excellent for soups and other huge cooking stuff that I used to have to change burners all the time. The oven lights are ridiculously bright and the simple roll tray in the top oven really helps so you don't accidently touch the sides. Is it worth the tag, maybe not but it is probably the best performing stove I have ever ter reading another review on here I think it is worth clarifying. Originally we purchased the all gas ver of this oven and had nothing but problems with the pre-heat. The oven would continuously turn off. GE replaced the oven twice and serviced it three times before allowing us to swap to the dual-fuel version. Since the switch no problems and we are almost a year in.

I purchased this oven in June 2018. It immediately would turn off when preheating due to a known fan defect. We purchased through ABT who sent a fresh oven, which had the same fan defect. GE replaced the fan in August 2018. It worked until Oct. 2018 and now we are having control panel problems and the oven is repeatedly turning off. An authorized repairman was sent by GE and then when he was here, GE wouldn't give him access to "bulletins" to figure out what was wrong. $3000 and nothing but hassle and disappointment. Even when it does work the top oven cooked very inconsistently. The bottom oven cooked well, but absolutely not worth the expense of buying a lemon top of the line oven.

First off, i can not describe how frustrating it is to see a brand fresh glass stove top with paper warning stickers on it that are IMPOSSIBLE to remove without harsh solvents or scratching the glass... after trying very long for 2 hours to remove the glue and paper from the warning stickers using easy green and windex, I scratched the glass... using the supplied cleaning pad. HAD they simply used a better quality sticker, this would have not been a problem. SECOND, the kit did not come with ANY of the electrical connections... seriously for .30cents they cant throw in some wire connectors and the box connector? Second, the hardware to mount the stove to the counter is a easy small piece of metal that is (according to the instructions) SOLD SEPERATLY???? That piece can not be more than $1. And for $1600 maybe I could obtain a little supply of duct tape for the duct work that needs to be done??? I really wasn't expecting duct tape, but the fact that it was missing all those mounting hardware and caused me an additional trip to the hardware shop for them just being to save maybe $3-4 on such an expensive item is very frustrating. Now I have a brand fresh stove top with scratches in the glass because they wanted to save .00005 cents on a sticker.

The range looks amazing but my wife would like a all black unit as she does not like stainless steel. The controls work very well. I miss a timer for the top burners like the counter top induction unit we have (True induction). I knew it did not have a timer but liked the two or one oven option. We also miss a timer that keeps making sound until it is shut off. You can not hear the timer unless you are very near. Also the Real Induction counter top unit cooks Oatmeal much faster in a little pan than the Samsung Range. I ran a second try of bring 4 cups of water to 200 degrees and then Samsung was a small faster than the Real Induction unit. We have not used the oven yet other than the cleaning cycle of 1 hour needed prior to use. This appliance is a work of art. Everything about this range is beautiful. You'll wish to buff it everyday like a fresh car's chrome. The upper oven is small, but that works to our advantage. It actually heats up quicker than our toaster oven. It's so much better, that we have replaced our toaster over with a primary toaster since anything that needs to have a little oven can be done here. The lower oven is amazing especially when you need to cook two things at once. For example, we've used the top oven to defrost a couple of frozen dinners and a pizza for picky guests while the bottom one cooks a ham for the e stovetop is in a class by itself. It needs its own paragraph. The induction way is without a doubt the best method to cook. If this is your first induction, stay away from stainless steel, as it's really only for cooks that really know what they're doing. Best bet is an aluminum set created for induction with nonstick interiors like the epicurious from jcpenney. Once you use the induction, you'll never wish to use standard electric again. Besides the obvious factors like quicker and even heating, cool to the touch, and ease of use, it sports the enhanced lighting, the auto detection that shuts off the range when no pot is detected, and did i mention the virtual flames?ART and function have met.

If you don't like to cook do not this stove. It's method too expensive to just be a decoration. If you do love to cook, this stove is for you. It heats on the stove top very quickly and evenly. The temperature control knobs for the range top are huge and bold and there is an extra display on the stove top showing a digital display for each burner with a range of 1 - 9. Don't be afraid to place your cast iron skillets on the surface, just create sure you have the bottom cleaned very well and don't move them around while cooking. I cook home brew and this range has reduced my overall brew time by 30 minutes. The first time I brewed with this range I could hardly hold up, it is that fast. This is plain and easy a cooking workhorse. I continue to be amazed about the performance of this range every time I use it. I have used the convection oven for slow cooking and it seems to handle consistent temperature control beautiful well. My wife will probably use the convection oven more than I do but she loves the option for dual-oven temperature control. There is a separation rack that allows dual oven operation and it has a very nice storage position in a slot directly above the warming drawer. The range top also extends over the counter on the sides which gives it a sleek professionally installed looked. Speaking of which, you will need a 240v range cord which is not included and professional installation is recommended. I installed it myself and my best tip is to check range top gap vs. counter top height constantly as you slide the range into position (you do not wish to crack the range top). Best range/oven I have ever purchased and I would recommend it to anyone that loves to cook. I did attach part of the cautions included in the owners manual, they are beautiful funny.

My only complaint about this is the touch display...Often while cooking I bump it and it turns on the display and even if you hit "oven off" you have to wait a min or so for the display to turn off. I have also accidentally turned on the warming drawer twice. I am trying to obtain in the habbit of using the kid lock so that this doesn't happen. This locks the display and the oven door. You need to then "unlock" "relock" and then "re-unlock" (holding the button 3 seconds each time) to obtain the door to oks amazing! I love that the temperature can be controlled very easily with the induction cook top. I haven't tried using the dual temp in the oven, but sometimes have just used one area, which makes preheating faster. I have baked a few cakes in this oven, and search that the convection element makes the cook times on the faster side.

After waiting for years to save up enough money, we finally were able to an induction range for our 100% solar house. We chose the Samsung based on the Consumer Reports ratings. And our fresh Samsung induction range did not disappoint. The cooktop is extremely simple to hold clean. You can actually touch the burners with your hand right after bring water to a boil. So the meal spills never bake on. The only heat you obtain on the cooktop is the heat coming from the pot, and not vice versa. Also, the performance of the burners is fantastic: it now takes us half the time to bring water to a boil, and the temperature in the pot is immediately responsive to changes in knob settings. It's like cooking with a gas stove, except better. There is no noticeable hum coming from the induction coils. The oven also appears to be very well calibrated.

Induction has been around for a long time, but it doesn't seem to have caught on. I don't understand why. After using this range for a while now, I'd never go back to gas or regular electric. It's so much easier to clean. The pots heat up so much quicker (yes, it's the pot/pan that heats up, not the cook-top itself) saving time and energy. And the clean glass surface just looks so elegant. There does seem to be a small bit of buzzing from the induction process, but I suspect that it's at a frequency that would only annoy teenagers ... which is fine by me.

Love the induction range. The kitchen does not have to be as hot because the range top does not heat up. This is truly a multi capable range. Not sure how much more function can be added. Convection, regular and steam oven, temperature probe, warming tray at bottom, main oven cavity can be divide into two, two timers, timed cook setting for oven. Complaints from wife: the knobs/heat setting for range is not continuous, it only has 10 settings for each burner. Installation is beautiful straight forward. The anti-tip is a small tricky to install. The oven racks are great, one slides out to create access easy.

    SAMSUNG NE58H9970WS Slide-In Induction Range, 30-Inch, Stainless Steel []  2020-1-23 19:36

Reviewing the Flex-Duo ver of this with induction top.Let me begin off by saying that I really wanted to like this - I had saved up for two years to replace my old electric coil stove, which was slow to heat, difficult to clean, and had non-level burners. This Samsung range seemed like the best unit other than viking, dacor, etc where they begin at $5000. I ordered this unit from a huge box shop with delivery, and haul-away of my old stove. That all went painlessly, and I have been using the stove at least twice per day for the past month.Let me begin with some pros:- The unit looks very nice and modern- It is very simple to clean- It boils water very quickly and heats evenly- Dual-oven divider is handy and allows the smaller top half of the oven to be used like a toaster oven, very fast to melt cheese etc using broil setting (but some problems with this feature as well)- Oven heats quickly and bakes evenly (Edit - there are problems with the oven, see below). Now the significant cons:- It's noisy. There's a fan that runs even when just using a little burner on low heat, and it is loud enough to be obvious. Also, there are frequent clicks from somewhere within the unit, it drives my wife crazy. Sometimes there is a weird ultrasonic sound when placing a pan on the burner. All around, a bunch of annoying electronic and whirring noises. My old coil stove was much quieter, and even that one had a noticeable hum.- The temperature control is digital, so there are only 10 discrete settings from low to power boost. I search it frequently impossible to obtain the right simmer temperature, setting 2 doesn't simmer at all, setting 3 simmers too much. Additionally, with my old coil stove (which was infinitely variable), I could place a pot of water on and use it is a souse-vide style cooker at very low temperatures. This is impossible with this unit and it a large allow down, now I need to an immersion cooker to do what I used to do with no issue and no additional equipment. Samsung should have at least provided half-stops so there could be twenty settings instead of ten. 10 discrete settings is like cooking in 8-bit mode.- Power boost does not work if you have another burner active (at any power level - WTF??). This kind of makes it barely useful, since in the most frequent case of boiling water for pasta, you may already be preparing a sauce. So you can have the burner at "9" but not power boost, which takes quite a bit longer to obtain it boiling. This is unacceptable behavior, firstly there is plenty of power overhead to help a lot of burners active at once, and in the rare case where there is not enough overhead, the stove can be smart enough to determine when it can and can't help power boost mode. Not being able to quickly boil water when I also have a little pot on a low simmer setting is a ridiculous design oversight.- The "burners" are very sensitive to the size of pan and type of cookware. The huge burner, for example, has a minimum pan diameter of 7.5" in to work. Well my 10" "everyday pan" has a bottom contact zone of just about exactly this size. As a result, it only works about half the time, and I have to constantly jiggle it around so it registers. Another inexcusable design oversight. A 10" frying pan should have no issue using the huge element. As it stands, about 40% of the surface of the stove is now only useful for boiling water or making soup, since my huge saucepan seems to be the only thing reliably "compatible" with the huge element. Edit: I bought a various 10" frying pan, and it works more reliably on the huge burner. So be prepared to spend time hunting for just the right cookware.- Only one oven rack is on roller glides, the rest are the crappy usual style that jam up and have to be jostled around and scrape up the oven paint. For a $3K product, all of the racks should be on rollers, or at least designed to bind up less often than they do, and certainly not a friction mount. In addition, two of the three racks have a metal bar that prevent you from being able to slide out oven pans without lifting them up over the hump. This means one-handed operations are now two-handed, and it's less safe because I have to maneuver around a protruding piece of hot metal that would be very simple to bump with my forearm. I honestly don't know if they QA'd the product design at all.- You can't broil something on high in the top oven and bake something in the bottom oven. If you can't actually use it like two ovens, don't shop it as such.- Speaking of the oven, I recently discovered that my oven will not keep temperature in bake mode. It preheats fine (verified with an oven thermometer), but then slowly loses heat after preheating, and I mean loses a LOT of heat. I was trying to cook a pizza today, and had the oven preheated to 475. Place the pizza in, and it was in for a long time and still did not seem to be cooking properly. So I stuck an oven thermometer inside and it was only at 350 degrees - WTF? Bumped the setting to 480, oven heated again to the correct temp, then started losing heat again once it reached the set temp. This is obviously a defect and renders the oven useless, will report after trying to have it serviced. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BY QA BEFORE THE PRODUCT LEFT THE FACTORY.- The touch control panel sucks. There is no force-feedback, and it goes haywire when you wipe it down with a rag. Seriously? You have to engage the control panel lock in to wipe it down without accidentally turning on all the ovens. Additionally, sometimes just by brushing past it, it will turn on the warming drawer?! The button layout is also needlessly complex and it's fair to say I'm quite disappointed in this unit. Some serious design flaws significantly reduce the utility of some of the standout features, and I almost miss my crappy old coil stove on acc of it's super easy operation and reliability. I hope that Samsung takes this feedback and improves their future products.

I would highly recommend this specific stove top it is amazing and I have had no problems what so ever.

Sigh...

It's awesome how instantly cast iron pots heats up for blackening and boiling water is really fast as well. We were going to go gas, but I'm really satisfied we went induction. The stainless steel surround does obtain scratched is our only negative. We have had it over a year, hopefully it's long term durable.

This appliance is beautiful. It’s a very solid-looking piece in the middle of our fresh icy-star quartz countertop. The packaging kept it perfectly safe. It’s simple to take the grates off to clean the e only cons are that you have to be careful when you wipe the counter top, or the washcloth can create water marks on the glass. It’s also worth noting that because the flames are up higher than counter level, where as with my latest cooktop the flames kind of dipped below, it does obtain much warmer in the surrounding area, even on your own strip of skin that’s near to the flame. Also, the plenum and blower take up method more zone in the island than my latest downdraft ducting. I lost about half the storage space.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality and style!

It's nice they don't tell you that on the box, but you search out when you're in the middle of the install and it tell you on step 14 that you need that piece. Also, the unit I installed had absolutely zero hardware, so yet another trip to the hardware shop for the screws to keep the plenum onto the bottom.of the cook top and the nuts holding the fan to the plenum

I could also bake things like pies and rolls in that drawer. 6. I previou had an enamel cook top and could never obtain it clean, but this one I’d spray a small windex on it and clean it, then place stainless steel cleaner on it. I bought at sears not Amazon. I am used to a WOLF gas cooktop and a WOLF double oven and I am impressed. I don't know if I just got lucky or it truly is performing better than expected but I have not had one problem with my CAFE double oven range and I truly love it and would do it again. I was use to cooking wth gas and there was a learning curve but it is so much cleaner. I quickly learned Le Creuset pots work best so I have purchased more but "most" of my pans (All Clad) did work but do create some buzzing sounds. I like to bake and love making cookies so have used the oven often and they always turn out great... no problems there. It is much easier to clean than my gas cooktop and I also have used the cleaning oven setting and it worked amazing (my WOLF oven stopped working after the third time I used it and it was going to cost over $1,000 to fix). I am a designer and most happy !!!!

We bought this range in October 2019 locally (not from Amazon) and although we were initially impressed with it's operation, it started to fail two weeks after it was installed. I wanted to share my experience with other prospective buyers and create them aware of problems. This is an expensive range and at least ours proved to be unreliable. GE admitted that they had a "repair bulletin" out on this model, which was the cause for unavailable parts and involved long waits for repair services. GE customer service was extremely disappointing (several scheduled tech appointments were cancelled by GE and not rescheduled until 7-10 days later) and it took a letter to their corporate office to finally obtain some action. After more than 4 months of attempted repairs by GE, they finally agreed to replace the unit. We are contemplating a various model, as we have lost confidence and a same model replacement might exhibit the same flaws.Update: we have the same model range in our vacation home and it is starting to exhibit the identical problems. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY -- THIS IS A BAD DESIGN.

After three months of owning the GE Café Dual Range we have multiple issues with it. First, the tri-ring 21000 BTU burner stopped working properly. When turned on, the flame would only come out of half the burner. Secondly, the ignitor on the two middle burners started attempting to ignite even though they when not in use. I confirmed the burners were in the off position, and yet the burners were attempting to ignite. This is a particularly concerning and risky malfunction for a gas stove. Additionally, on three separate occasions we had excessive smoke coming from the oven, enough to set off the house smoke alarm. This happened despite any perceivable meal or grease dropping onto the floor of the oven, and well after several uses so it was not due to any residual oil from the manufacturing of the oven." Additionally, typical food prep left stains on the two of burner covers that could not be removed despite multiple efforts to use various cleaning approaches.I responded recently to an email from GE asking me to review the GE Cafe Dual Fuel Range. After submitting my review, I received an email from GE stating they the review was 'moderated...it did not meet the guidelines for posting on our site.' I attempted to follow up with their customer help to have them clarify what why it did not meet their guidelines, but after being transferred to several various departments, I required to eventually hang up after being on keep for 45 minutes. I will never again waste my on a GE product.

I’d give this oven 5 stars for appearance. I gave it 4 because of 1 easy design flaw. The sides of this range are flush with the countertop. I prefer my old Kenmore that had the overhang so there was no gap between the two. As for operation, so far is working nicely. Like the other review, only time will tell. I do LOVE the 6 burners and having the grated cover the entire cooking surface.

Do not buy. F76 error code after 13 months. After 12 months not GE's problem. Cost over $600 to replace instrument panel (parts and labor). Now in less than 3 months has happened again.

We used the oven only a few times, and it developed a carbon monoxide leak that would have killed us if not for our CO detectors. CO levels above 50ppm create a residence not safe for habitation, and when tested, the oven kicked out more than 4000ppm of carbon monoxide. If we had ignored the alarms, we would be dead. And the service is terrible, they have been sold to a Chinese company Haier and could care less. You would think when a company’s product almost kills your family, they would test to support you. But they will not. The customer service does not care about helping. We had the leak verified by the fire department, gas company, and an HVAC contractor. We will not be buying from GE again.

I have never disliked a stove more. On average, it breaks 3 times a year and usually during the holiday season. More than once we have had to host Thanksgiving dinner without the use of our stove because it was broken, per usual. The ovens are the issue...not the gas burners, although it takes much longer for one of the burners to light than the others. We had to obtain a Sears service contract because the service calls were costing us so much. If it hadn't been so expensive, I would have trashed it long ago.

GE Cafe CHS995SELSS 30 Inch Slide-in Electric Range with Smoothtop Cooktop, 2.3 cu. ft. Primary Oven Capacity in Stainless Steel []  2020-6-4 18:7

Allow me begin by saying that I take online reviews seriously as it’s a major factor in my decision making process. That being said, I also am weary of stuff that have too a lot of 5-Star ratings. Fake reviews are usually beautiful simple to spot as they lack the detail of a true user.I can assure you I am a true user…I had not considered Induction cooking until we had a power outage. I know, strange method to lead into this but it’s my review and that’s where I’m starting.. Anyway, I was away on business when our home lost power and while the wife and children were able to manage the little generator we use (3000 Watt) there was no method for here to cook other than the Microwave. Solution: induction hot plate. I love to cook so when it came in the mail I was excited to test it out and boy was I impressed with what it could do. So much so that it was our Go-To item for cooking one pot meals. This is how I ended up searching for an Induction range to replace my 20+ year old Jenn-Air which was the style with the center downdraft and changeable cartridges. At $2000 back in the day, you could say I loved to cook then as much as I do now.On to the GE…I’m typically “Frugal” and this was no exception. I bought it from a supplier on the East Coast as a scratch and dent and saved almost $1500. It had a few problems that were easily addressed by me and for all intent and purpose, it’s brand new. I ended up with this model as it is one of only a few double oven induction stoves on the shop that were in my range. Why 2 ovens? Holidays and 2 boys that love pizza rolls and junk meal that tastes better cooked in an oven but don’t need to heat up a full size oven (Toaster oven is not an option thanks…). That’s beautiful much how I ended up with the GE, Induction, price, and double oven. Not a lot to choose from for me in my rst off, this thing is a tank. VERY massive compared to my Jenn-Air. Removing the Jenn was a one man (me) job but I had to enlist the support of my 15 year old for the GE. Not an problem just a note. Other than that it slid in as any range would. I was able to remove the feet from my Jenn to create it flush with the counter top, not this unit. I was afraid removing the leveling feet would not let for the bottom oven to begin properly as it’s very close to the e top oven is just huge enough with 2 rack positions for casseroles and general use with smaller items. I baked Stuffed Shells and Sauce latest night with no problems at all. The rack in the lower position is a small tricky pulling out to obtain to your food with oven mitts on but after time you obtain used to it as best you can. I usually have a spatula or spoon handy to help in pulling it e bottom oven is smaller than I’m used to (duh…) but have not run into anything that won’t fit yet. Unfortunately it arrived 5 days after Thanksgiving so I was not able to try with a “bagged” 18lb Turkey. They are still on so I’ll test to sneak one in next week once the family is over me making some form of Turkey for dinner for 2 weeks straight. The convection is “true” convection which means it has its own heating element around the fan which you can see glow as the oven running. I do not believe the Jenn had this feature. So far I have not cooked anything that would try this other than Calzones and they browned e bottom oven needed “calibration” which is simple to do. Just an oven thermometer and if the oven is at 350 and the thermometer is reading 340 add 10 degrees. Nice feature however the day I pulled the Jenn out it was within one degree. What did surprise me was that the bottom oven required calibration to the tune of +15 degrees?? Maybe something to do with the scratch –n- dent but as long as I have the ability to dial it in I’m ok with the savings. Note that it also has a self adjust feature that takes into acc convection and it lowers the temp a bit. I have not tested this and currently have it turned off as I like to have full control. Back to calibrating, I allow both sit at temp (400 degrees) for 15 mins after it said they were at temp to create sure they had settled in on temp before adjusting. As for Pre-heating… GE is a small optimistic on the amount of time it takes to preheat as neither oven is truly at temp for another 5 mins after the stove say’s “Pre-Heat Complete” according to my try thermometer. I have not tried to cook when it tells me that the oven is ready as I know that it’s typically at least 15% less than my setpoint. The amazing news is that we had another power outage and the oven held the offset I place in for the bottom duction… What can I say… I absolutely love what this stove can do. The huge burner will boil a couple of gallons of water for spaghetti in no time and to the point where if left on high it will splash on the microwave installed over the range, it’s that vigorous of a boil! Then when you turn it off, it stops… No residual heat that continues the boil long after you turn off the element forcing you to move the pot to an unplanned emergency location. I can boil pasta in a huge pot at medium with this thing after it comes to the initial boil! To me, this is the future of cooking and will potentially eliminate the need for a gas stove for the home Chef. The control is awesome enough that even the casual user will note that you can easily and quickly search the setting that simmers without cooling off or eventually boiling. To try this, test cooking Min Tapioca (love the stuff). With the Jenn, I always had scalded egg at the bottom of the pot as I would obtain impatient and bring it to a boil on not medium but medium high (while whisking). With the GE, it boiled at medium (5 on the knob) in no time at all and there was no scalded egg residue on the bottom of the pan and easy rinsing cleaned the pot (no scrubbing). Those of you that “cook” will understand what I’m talking about. I have not tried bridging the 2 elements together as I currently do not have the cookware to take advantage of this. As my Jenn allowed me to “grill” indoors, I will be looking for a grill and griddle for this very ecision cooking? Have not used it to cook, only try to see if it works. Word of caution on this however if you are cooking delicate stuff. If you begin out cold and set the temp to say 180 degrees, the stove will go full throttle to obtain it to temp which could mean scalded sauce on the bottom of your pan. It also will over shoot beautiful badly doing this as well. My testing suggests getting it close to the temp you want, then turn the feature on and it will keep that temp until you tell it otherwise or whatever you are cooking evaporates and you ruin your pot or the auto shutoff kicks in!Not sure why they place the Warmer on the stovetop. The control over the burners is so amazing there is really no need for it unless you trying to juggle 5 pans on the top.I’ve noticed as a lot of reviewers have stated that some pots are noisier than others. I’ve also noticed that the amount of “buzz” seems to relate to the quality of the pot. Amazing massive ones do not create much if any noise. Cheaper “thin/light” pots will buzz noticeably but not a breaker for e oven controls take some getting used to as they seem overly complicated. Not that you won’t be able to figure them out easily enough but there are a few more button presses to turn on the oven that I’m used to with the Jenn. Example of the bottom oven button sequence: Bottom Oven, Convect, 350, start. With the Jenn, Convect, 350. It would realize you were done and set the temp to 350 without having to press another button. Not a huge but takes some getting used to. They have fast functions like Pizza, Frozen Food, etc. but they are all set for 350?? When was the latest time you cooked a pizza of any sort at 350?? (Again those that cook will obtain it.) I’m assuming this can be changed but I have yet to begin the manual (did I mention I’m a 50 year old Controls Engineer by trade? :-) ) I also discovered that cleaning the stove top while baking is not advised. The touch pad appears to be capacitive and when touched by a wet rag will inevitably change the oven setting and once it thinks you are wanting to change something by touching the key pad if you don’t complete the button sequence it will turn the oven off… Amazing thing I heard the beeps as I was cleaning up and noticed the upper oven was accidentally turned off with my dinner in it! Just note that it’s very sensitive to a flopping wet rag… (you can lock the controls to hold this from event as well). This is the first smooth top range I’ve owned and I’m already seeing the benefits and ease of cleaning. There were a few times I thought the Health Department was going to shut me down on the Jenn as it has so a lot of nooks and e knobs for the elements are heavily weighted and I like that. They feel was simple to set up WiFi. I have the application and can control and obtain notifications. I can also tell Alexa to “Tell Geniva to preheat the top oven to 350 degrees” and it will turn on (after Alexa verifies that’s what I wish to do first). More of a party trick than anything as by the time I remember what to say I could have walked over and turned it on. Do I need this? No. Do I want manufactures would stop with this nonsense? YES!!!Another thing to note is the vents on the back of the stove top. These are for the ovens and the cooking elements (Cooling air flow). I have no problems with them other than the holes are rather huge and I can see myself dropping meal down them as I tend to pretend I’m a Chef by tossing my noodles and sauce rather than stirring it… I think once it goes in, it will be hard to obtain out. There is also an oddly placed gasket at the top front of the stove where the stainless and glass top meet. It seems to be beautiful and looks like it could harbor meal and other “stuff”. It’s easily disrupted by cleaning (as in it moves a bit) and just does not feel quite right. I would rather see a harder rubber piece in this short (lol… Word is saying I’m close to 2000 words!!), I love Induction. So much so that this will be the only type of stove I moving forward! The oven is well.. an oven. It’s an insulated box with a heating element in it. Not sure I see anything as ground breaking as I do Induction. I plan on cooking some bread this weekend and will obtain more of a feel for how it works then. My largest fear with this range is the electronics. Between the key pad, internet, and induction it has an poor lot of technology being employed to simply boil some water but boy does it ever boil water!! I just hope it lasts as long as the Jenn (which still works perfectly btw…).If GE happens to read this… Scale back on the Tech, turn the warmer into another cooking element, add one timer for each oven (only a single timer? My Jenn had 2 with only one oven!), and add a timer to at least one cook top burner that would turn the burner off at the end of the timer!! That would be basically a built in "Insta-Pot"Thanks for bearing with me!12/27/2018 Update:Cooked a 16lb Turkey today and had no issues. As you can see the bag is close to the top of the oven but didn't expand and touch the element or oven ceiling. The bottom rack has a nice drawer slide that makes pulling out to access beautiful easy. I must say I don't care much for having to stoop all the method down to obtain to the bottom oven but there really is no other alternative if you don't have the room for wall mounted ovens. I'll live with far I am very impressed with the oven and have had no problems (or regrets)!

GE PGS950SEFSS Profile 30" Stainless Steel Gas Slide-In Sealed Burner Double Oven Range - Convection []  2020-1-25 7:30

After reading the reviews that perhaps the center burner might not obtain too hot, we purchased this range because the controls were on the front and not on the back. We love it! Center burner? Cooks amazing once I realized I'm supposed to remove the grate and place the griddle between the 2 side grates ... go figure. Also, our installer explained our 1970's home had a 3/8" gas line when the stove was really designed for a 1/2" line (I think that's right) and the heat quality with all 4 burners + the center burner when all were on might be diminished. So far we haven't used everything at once and it would be rare if we did. We love the super burner -- heats whatever we are cooking quickly, and then simmers to e top oven is regular gas and not convection; the lower can cook either convection or gas; we want the top was dual option too... we love both ovens -- the center rack on the bottom has bearings or something that makes it roll out easily. We love e range is a slide in, but the top overlaps the counter so spills won't link down between the range and cabinet. We love that, tooWe would definitely recommend this range.

GE PGS950SEFSS Profile 30" Stainless Steel Gas Slide-In Sealed Burner Double Oven Range - Convection []  2020-1-25 7:30

It took a lot longer than expected to arrive, but when it finally did, we loved it. This oven is gorgeous, so so so much better than the ones with a back panel and looks very high end for a middle-range price. I've cooked in the top, convection oven for about a month, and it doesn't seem to be much faster than my old oven, however I don't have any complaints with the cooking capabilities. As others have said, the double oven is a amazing benefit, but takes some getting use to, as the lower oven is quite low and a bit awkward, but I will probably use the upper oven 95% of the only complaint is that there doesn't appear to be any safety lock!! I have scoured the owner's manual and the oven itself and can't see any method to lock the doors. I have a 1-year-old that just started to walk and despite my efforts to hold her away from it, the low oven door is like a magnet for her. I will probably not use the bottom oven for that reason until she's older, or I've figured out a method to secure it.*** Modernize ***. I still like this attractive oven, but we have encountered a few issues and thus I reduced my review to a 3. First, there's a very odd smell EVERY time we turn on the oven that lingers for at least 5-10 minutes. I Googled it and most people said it was normal with a fresh oven, but after 4-months and use 3-4x per week, it's not fresh anymore and the smell persists. We are on Propane, so maybe that has something to do with it, but we never had that smell with our old oven. Perhaps similar to the smell, but there is also a build-up of some sort on the inner door. I wipe it off every few weeks, but it doesn't come completely clean. It's like soot? Also, I thought the convection oven was supposed to cook better / faster? It does not in my experience - no various than my old non-convection oven. We never solved the lock problem, but I generally only cook in the upper oven and my daughter is content playing in all my cabinets for the time being.(ps... the picture is during a renovation)

First review in some time, but I know all are leery of doing a this huge online.I am very satisfied with the look of the range and the packaging for safety of the materials was excellent and extreme, not simply just in a shipping box. This range if not actually looked at in store, which should be done, has an overlap on range top so that meal can not fall in the gap between the stove and cabinets. Since this is a 1/2 inch overlap on each side create sure measurements and height of counter are considered. The leveling legs have about a 2 inch rise MAX... and be careful when extended this high things obtain wobbly and legs may bend if not on perfectly smooth floor and leg catches on sliding that would be my first negative, week leveling leg brackets. The second and latest negative is that I had read in past where this range arrived dead on arrival.... I had a related issue, plugged in and nothing, no power. I then looked at the line cord for the range, it is not hard wired, and as such found the plug on end of line cord had one wire out three not secured / push looked into the connector. I had to call GE for a tech to be dispatched (1 week), but begged her to have tech have part in hand and not simply come out to look and not resolve since delay was 1 week. I the meantime I was able to push the loose wire into the back via the connector to create amazing connection till correctly repaired and not loose. So this may explain a dead on arrival / no power. Quality control on the line cord...But besides that love the look all seems to work fine with burners. Have not used oven convection but that will next.I went to a huge box store, did measurements and created sure I liked the look then the find was on. I was able to obtain this range 500 dollars cheaper plus the no tax savings. I expected that the shipping, in my case per say, would take a few weeks and it took 1 week to go coast to coast and then 1 week to obtain from shipper to house.

I had it for a week now .. I bought it locally from an appliance outlet for a realy realy it was a floor model .....Install was hard since my counter top was raised edge tiles and it was higher than the range edges so I had to raise the range up using bricks ....The range is nice looking .... The control screen zone is not amazing cause you can easily touching the buttons unintentionally also maybe I do that because my range is really high , when I reach up for the upper cabinet my body touches the pad....Anyway long created short....This range has high temp burners that will boil your water quick... The griddle I tried once and place it on as recommended by manual and didn't do amazing in going to test with high heat all the method through cooking ..the oven used once and was related to my previous 15 yr old Ge range no huge change....I got a amazing on it that's why I'm satisfied the rest is close to other ranges although this one kind of related to commercial restaurant ranges but very far from being one....UPDATES#11)when the oven is on the outside of the range or body doesn't heat up that means that it is well insulated and keeps the heat inside..my previous range would all over obtain hot when i cook in the oven..2)keep your panel in a locked position to prevent accidental begin of functionsUpdate#2Today January 7th 2015I got error F76 and my control panel stopped working .....in 3 weeks this piece of ...... Broke....Don't unless you have time to waste. Lucky me I still have time to dump it back to Sears .... Somebody else here got the same error code in 3 months time ....At first I gave this 5 stars now it's down to one or in short stay away alertThis is another proof that consumer reports doesn't know what they talking about.....

I bought this stove 11 months ago and have required 2 repairs already. The after 1 month and was kind of minor (burner replacement). The lastest is that the control panel burned out. I have been without a stove for 1 month waiting for GE to locate the part and now waiting for a technician to come to do the repair. Not to mention that the stove is not worth the almost $3000 I for it. It is mediocre at best. The customer service response has been not good too. I've had to do so much follow up that it's like pulling teeth! I would never another GE product again.

I only had this range for 3 months. After 3 months, and the day before Christmas Eve, the front control panel started flaying F76. I called GE and they informed me that this meant the control panel required to be replaced. The oven will not work without this control panel. Furthermore, they would not be able to send anyone out until the day after Christmas. Needless to say I would never anything from GE again. .

GE Cafe CHS995SELSS 30 Inch Slide-in Electric Range with Smoothtop Cooktop, 2.3 cu. ft. Primary Oven Capacity in Stainless Steel []  2020-6-4 18:7

Update: 18 months after my the cooktop failed. The knobs on the left glow when turned on but no heat turns on. The knobs on the right don't even glow. My wife called GE help and they told us it was out of warranty and wanted to charge us an unknown amount to send someone out to look at it. We had no idea if they were talking $50 or $2000 to repair it and it's practically brand fresh so I decided to write letters to their executives and engage them on social media. I understand that appliances fail, but I expect repairs on a brand-new appliance. I engaged GE on social media first and they seemed a lot more willing to help. But I ended up fixing it myself. While I was driving home from work I was thinking there's probably a computer in this thing and maybe it needs to be rebooted. So I fixed it by turning it off and back on at the cause GE phone help was not empowered to stand behind their product when my wife called I am dropping my rating from 5-star to 1-star. While the social media squad seemed willing and may have helped us out, I shouldn't have to waste timing engaging manufacturers on different platforms to obtain a reasonable response. That said, I am still satisfied with the product. Just not the warranty or the service.Original review is below:I bought this for my wife and she loves it! Until now we both preferred gas, but our house doesn't have a gas line so we've been using a regular electric range that came with the house until it finally died so we just replaced it with this model. My wife cooks almost all our meal from scratch due to dietary restrictions, so a double-oven is almost a necessity and my hope is it allows her to do her baking in half the time so she's not spending all day in the Kitchen. I'm also going to supplement with an over the hood convection microwave oven to obtain us up to 3 ings I like: - True physical knobs, this is superior to touch interfaces where you have to take your eyes off the meal to adjust the heat. True knobs are just so much better, you just turn them. No trying to figure out which burner you're on or where your finger is. Really the reason I went with this instead of some less expensive models is for the knobs. - The Induction cook-top is fatastic, it heats up very fast, faster than any electric that I've used. Also this gives fast precise heating control with our stainless steel pans (less so with cast iron) which we didn't have with electric. My wife says this is the best feature over an electric and she likes induction even better than gas. ...she's completely right, with our traditional electric we'd always take the tea kettle off the burner when it started boiling... now with our induction cooktop turning off the burner stops is from boiling immediately. - Double oven, top oven is normal, bottom oven is convection. Today I was cooking a King Cake and my wife was doing Birthday Cupcake, at first she was trying to coordinate who would use the oven when but smiled when she remembered it was a double oven! We baked both at the same time. - The convection is nice, the auto-adjust feature automatically lowers the temperature (so if you set the oven to 350 deg it is actually at 325 in convection mode) but you can turn that feature off if you wish to control the temperature manually. It also seems convection is more energy efficient since you're cooking at a lower temperature or shorter time to do the same amount of baking. - Electrical wiring instructions were easy, I was able to do the install myself without problem (did have to run down to Home Depot to a power cord). - Reading though the manual you can actually adjust the temperature by having the oven automatically add or subtract degrees to whatever you set ... mine is right on but it's a nice feature to have if after 10 years it's baking too hot or to cold, or wish to adjust it for altitude. - Intuitive touchpad control for the ovens - Kid lockout--locks out the range controls when not in use. - The led ring around the knob glows when that burner is active to allow you know it's on. - The induction element automatically shuts off, or doesn't turn on when it doesn't detect a pan over it. - Came with a wooden pallet. Always nice to obtain another pallet. What could be better: - The warmer in the back middle is not induction, it's a regular heat element but it can only warm, not cook. I think it would have been nice to create that a normal electric burner instead of just a warmer for the one or two pans we have that didn't work with induction. - I was a bit disappointed in the high cost of matching GE Cafe Microwaves, the GE Profiles don't really match the style that well so I ended up going with another brand which of course won't work with the Chef Connect feature. - I really want kitchen appliances manufacturers would obtain together and come up with begin standards so that any branded range can communicate with any branded microwave instead of each manufacturer doing their own thing. - Only 1-year warranty. For this price-point I would expect maybe a 3 to 5-year warranty. I will be disappointed if I don't obtain 15 years out of it. - Really a minor point but nothing on the cooktop glows...I think it would be cool if some rings around the burners glowed when active in proportion to the heat you're outputting there. The rings glowing around the knobs aren't as amazing a visual I don't think. - The sound volume for alerts (like done pre-heating, timer done, etc.) is too quiet, I have it on the highest setting and can't really hear it if my son is awake unless I'm in the Kitchen. - I haven't tried the phone application which may have provided an alternate method to obtain alerts, but it wish me to sign up for a GE account... I really don't wish an acc with GE or my appliance phoning home so stopped there. - There's only one timer... I think there should have been two timers (one for each oven).A few notes: - Probably just me but I feel like I have to be very careful putting massive cast iron pans on it... it just feels weird doing that on a glass top! I guess I just have a fear of it cracking. - Some pots vibrate and create a small noise when the on high--especially when interacting with other pots. Doesn't happen too often but it does happen. It's not too loud or bothersome. - There seems to be an undocumented Ethernet or serial port on the back of the oven. I can't search any info on it. - You do have to bend down beautiful low to use the lower oven, not an problem but something to be aware of...conversely the smaller oven on top is easier to access than most ovens. - The LED display is white, maybe a tad blue, fortunately it's not super bright like some blue LEDs which light up the entire house at night keeping you awake. There is also a dot-matrix zone in the display which is nice to give you very detailed instructions making the interface simple to use. - Only the bottom oven is convection. - With induction some pots and pans won't work. So far we've found 2 in our collection that won't work. A glass tea kettle and a stainless steel pan created with aluminum inside (stainless steel with copper inside do work very well with induction) amazing method to try your existing cookware is test to stick a magnet to the bottom of it.. if attracts the magnet you should be good. - I bought from 1-stop Camera and Appliances. Smooth transaction, and the delivery company called the day before coming. The truck that delivered mine only had a liftgate and was really not equipped to do more than drop it off in my driveway (I could have gotten installation service but declined). It came in the middle of a winter storm so my driveway was very snowy and icy. I got out my dolly and straps and the driver was nice enough to support me [email protected]#$%! up my slippery driveway to obtain it to my garage. My wife and I took it from there... it is a small heavier than most ranges I've is is a amazing range, my wife loves it, I think it was a amazing value considering it has knobs, is induction, a double oven, and convection. I hope to obtain a lot of years of service out of it.

GE Cafe CHS995SELSS 30 Inch Slide-in Electric Range with Smoothtop Cooktop, 2.3 cu. ft. Primary Oven Capacity in Stainless Steel []  2020-6-4 18:7

First, about the product. When we opened the box, it was dented, bent and bowed in multiple places. Our remodeling squad installed it anyway, and we attempted to use it. We learned that both ovens would shut off after the temp rose over approx 160 degrees. We also later learned that the cooktop burners (are they burners on an inductive?) also shut off without warning after a while. So, our product, out of the box, was both damaged and defective. The positive: it looks amazing in our kitchen, if you don't look too hard for the e refund/replace/repair saga. We purchased our range for a kitchen remodel about two months prior to remodeling squad getting started (big mistake). We did not begin the box (even bigger mistake) after delivery, and it remained in our garage unopened. Seems that Amazon has a 30 day refund/replacement policy. When I reached out to the seller, Dynamic Deals, they declined my request because I purchased it, at that time, 70 days prior, and told me to contact GE. OBTW, they did not any contact information; they place that on me to figure out the rest. No support whatsoever. I then filed a claim with Amazon, and they also declined my request, citing their policy. So, I reached out to GE, who dispatched a repair tech. They are replacing the damaged and defective parts next week, but they also declined to problem a refund, stating that it was repairable. With no other alternative, I agreed to a repair. I will modernize this later, if the repair doesn't remedy the problem. I wish to love this range, but I'm not holding my breath.Lessons learned. Don't appliances via Amazon. The return policy states that you have 30 days, that you are on the hook for shipping charges and often a 20% restocking fee if the product is opened. Companies in your local zone have a reputation to uphold or they go out of business. Dynamic Deals, the 3rd party seller, didn't care, even after I gave them several opportunities to create it right and save the relationship (and earn a amazing review). Save yourself the headache and local for major appliances. Quite frankly, I was surprised by Amazon's response. For as much as I from them, I expected more. Costco would have given my back no questions asked. Even Best Buy would have done the same. I won't create another expensive mistake like this again. I hope you can learn from my mistakes. Buy local. If you don't, begin the box and inspect everything immediately after delivery. Don't more than 30 days before you intend to install and use it so that you can ops check. Finally, don't wait to contact the seller and/or Amazon if something is amiss. They will stand on policy, and then its your d luck.

GE PGS950SEFSS Profile 30" Stainless Steel Gas Slide-In Sealed Burner Double Oven Range - Convection []  2020-1-25 7:30

This range is wonderful. My wife bakes a lot and the temp is dead on. we also do a lot of canning. The double burner brings our 30 Qt caner up to temp in no time and pressure is easily controlled. It is spendy but worth it to create momma happy. Install was simple the most time consuming part was getting the height rite and getting it level. We have tile floors so obviously they are not perfectly level. My wife done a bunch of research on ovens and this one provided the best bang for the buck. Well worth the I would say.

UPDATE *The panel went out today. 11/27/16That means no oven for Thanksgiving. Call GE and they wish us to $200 to have it replaced. The burners don't always ignite. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!We have had this part replaced 4xs in almost years 2+yrs. Very disappointingI have had this stove installed for about 3 months the panel had and f76 error within the first month. Today I am about to cook my Father's day food it beeps and guess what another error f76. Not a satisfied camper. This range is not dependable going out on 2 unique occasions. I am very disappointed. The burner also created my surrounding counter tops extremely hot. Not happy won't another GE range.

Control panel has been replaced twice already. Have the stove for less than a year. Hold getting code F76 and they never know what the code means.

It works but i don't think it is nearly worth the for as as it looks and feels. GE should be able to do better I'd say $150 would be fair for what this is. Oh and the energy tutorial sticker is freaking terrible. Ok GE If you know it is temporary then use a material that is removable so you aren't wasting people's time. It shouldn't take hours to remove a sticker.

GE PGS950SEFSS Profile 30" Stainless Steel Gas Slide-In Sealed Burner Double Oven Range - Convection []  2020-1-25 7:30

This range has a major design flaw in the front panel. Any amount of moisture will short out the oven controls. This has happened to us at least once a year for all three years that we've owned it. It's a $600 fix every time, and the warranty is almost up....so....we're looking for a fresh range. When it does work, it is inconsistent at best. Both ovens inexplicably run up to 50 degrees hot or cold at any given time, even fluctuating from one to the other during the baking of a single batch of cookies; however, the top oven more typically runs cold, and can't obtain over 450 degrees (according to my oven thermometer). The low burner for simmering actually does beautiful well, and earns this range the single, lone star (otherwise it would obtain zero from me).

GE PGS950SEFSS Profile 30" Stainless Steel Gas Slide-In Sealed Burner Double Oven Range - Convection []  2020-1-25 7:30

Latest Thanksgiving I broke the door spring on my ancient oven (it was in the house when I bought it, 25+ years ago). Yes, it could have been fixed, but it had annoying quirks that I had lived with long enough!. This was my dream stove, the beginning of a long-awaited kitchen update. I had it installed in January. I love the double oven, and the griddle stays on the stove top nearly all the time. The seasoning on the griddle suffers when I flip it over to use the grill grate (mmmm, grilled pork chops night before last, delicious!), but I rarely have issues with my pancakes even then. I search it simple to clean, and just use a bit of baking soda and elbow grease when there is discoloration. But heck, it's a stove, I don't expect it to look like it is still in a showroom after a this is nothing to do with the stove, but more info for those, like me, who bought an older home and don't know what to expect when trying to modernize things. My gas line into the kitchen hadn't been touched EVER! It was up to the code in result in 1949, and the plumber I called to install the fresh stove couldn't install it until the valve was updated, which also involved some of the piping. All very correct, it wouldn't have been safe or even legal for him to have done otherwise. But I hadn't budgeted for that, and I was serving beans for a few weeks after the work was done. Plan ahead! One downer. I have one burner on the stove top that has to be lit manually. It has never lit just from the sparker. That burner also is the weakest flame, amazing for a simmer but not to bring anything up to a boil. That's okay, I have four other burners to work with. I've just never had a stove with a simmer burner before.

We bought a fresh home in July 2015 and replaced the electric range with this gas range before we moved in. Almost 4 years now and we absolutely love this range. burner configuration is unbelievable for all our cooking needs. the convection oven and broiler work perfectly. I have read reviews on the control panel that some owners experienced problems or problems. Our control panel has never missed a beat. Overall we love it!

I am a supporter of GE products, however, I am disappointed in this buy. About 7 months after buying this product, my range started to beep with F76 being displayed on the screen. I would plug out the range and wait 5 minute and replug it back in. For a while this work. However, just before Christmas, the control panel stop working all together. Without a working control panel, the oven won't work, hence no baking for Christmas. Amazon sells the control board for $204USD Why i should incur the cost of repair for a fairly fresh stove that clearly have a manufacturing defect? Can someone from GE care to comment? Until GE fixes this manufacturing defect, I don't recommend anyone purchasing this stove.
