I purchased this for my fresh 2019 Subaru Outback. Since it is a leased vehicle, I did not wish finger nail scratches behind the door handles to fall into play under "wear and tear" when it comes time to turn the vehicle in.I followed the directions on the packaging and read reviews that described the app process. I applied my protector by inserting under the door handle up from the bottom. It was easier for me to judge how high up the protector would sit. I then smoothed out any bubbles and excess water by using my fingers as a squeegee.... took less than 15 mins to apply this product to all 4 doors.Highly recommended to protect the paint behind the door handles.
It's has a stronger adhesive than the one i have on my wife's car. The issue with that is it was nearly impossible to obtain the micro bubbles out. Plus, I'm not sure of the result of the adhesive on the paint over doesn't come with the alcohol wipes or spray either so the directions say use water, which may have contributed to the placement and bubbles.I bought the $22 one from the competitor, which is not an adhesive and comes with the spray and wipes.I don't recommend this product.
I've literally have had this for less than 6 months but it seems to do what it's supposed to do. Installing was fairly simple but the instructions could've been a small better. I want these came in different sizes I could choose from but it covers enough.
The upside, it feels like legitimate 3M e downsides: installation instructions could use a rework, one of the four pieces of movie was very poorly cut, and there's no score in the paperback so it's a true challenge to begin separating the movie from the backer (all three in attached pictures). If you're like me, then you started without checking for any of these, and suddenly you have to decide what door handle do you use the least and isn't going to obtain protected. Those two pieces of clear–taped together movie are not even remotely funny. Someone got lazy or everyone is trying to chop could carefully score the paperback with a razor so it peels away in sections, but if you chop too deep, you've just chop the movie layer spite using water to support the installation, it is difficult to obtain the movie properly centered inside the door r bubbles under product seem to disappear with time.
They are easily viewed when applied. The outline is very obvious. I am leaving them on though because they are sturdy enough to provide protection. I am not crazy the fact that they are very obvious to detect on the door. One of them had a piece of another protector with the paper attached to it. I thought I might have to return them, but was able to separate them. A hassle though. They seem thick enough and if you view a video on app you'll have an easier time installing them.
Instructions say to wet the paint and then remove entire adhesive backing and then apply to concave paint surface behind door handle. That's next to impossible to do without ruining the product or having creases and bubbles which you can't remove. First one was a throwaway after attempting to install. Second went somewhat better after taking off only half of backing and then installing top half. Still had creases in it but not terrible. Third and fourth went on is was expensive to start with and turned out to be twice as expensive due to their lousy installation instructions. Avoid this item.
I followed the instructions provided and the stuck as they are supposed to. Unfortunately i couldn’t figure out how to peel the paper off and applying them without a little part of my finger touching the adhesive and leaving a permanent fingerprint that is very noticeable on the car. I even washed my hands and wiped my fingertips with alcohol to remove any oils from my skin. Fortunately these peel off easily enough to put in the garbage.
I purchased this product to install on my brand fresh 2019 Toyota 4 Runner. I created 2 mixtures, in separate squirt bottles, of an alcohol mixture to clean the zone and soapy mixture for the application. The alcohol mix was 2 oz rubbing alcohol to 6 oz water. The soapy mix was 8 oz water and 2 to 3 drops of baby shampoo. I cleaned the zone behind my door handles with the alcohol mix and dried with a soft cloth. I then lightly sprayed the zone with the soapy mix, sprayed my fingers and then peeled the adhesive from the paper and sprayed the side to be attached. I lined up the adhesive where I wanted it and gently worked the bubbles out to the closest edge of the adhesive. It will be slippery so be patient. Once bubbles are gone, gently wipe dry with a soft cloth and work remaining little bubbles out. I did not like how one was positioned so I removed it and started the process again. I found that they can be adjusted as long as they don't set up for a long period of vehicle is white which makes it difficult to see the adhesive in pictures. I am going to apply another set to my husbands brand fresh black 2019 Honda Accord next. I hope they latest and hold the paint behind our door handles from getting scratched from fingernails and is recommended that you do not wash the car for at least 24 hours to let adhesive to adhere well.
These are thick enough to prevent scratches from rings/nails, etc., but unlike others, are not glued in place...meaning that when you mess up the first couple of times trying to put them under the handle, they can be pealed off and repositioned.
Arrived 2 days earlier than ze is not correct I order 3.25 x 3.25" but true measure is 3.0 x 3.25" ... A bit thick ...Anyway it is smaller than most std door cup handle. If it is 3.5 x 3.25" it is will better te I apply on my Subaru Legacy 2018
I received these installed on vehicle, not as simple as latest ones i had on for 2 1/2 years. Had some body work done all but 3 were taken off. bought these......had on for roughly 3 weeks - turn yellow and when i removed them - the adhesive remanined and nothing will remove it.....so I will have to take it back to body store to ask them to remove the adhesive.Worst product I've ever owned.
Hard to install within that confined space. Instructions were less that clear as they appeared to be translated from another language into English, without being checked for accuracy.
** DO NOT TRY TO APPLY WITHOUT WATER!**Use a spray bottle to mist the desired app zone with water, *then* apply the film.Just installed it. Impossibly tricky to apply dry, so I can totally see why other reviewers had problems with bubbles, but I'm used to applying movies to my windows and figured you just required to spray the zone with some water first. Worked like a charm. Water allows you to reposition the movie slightly and squeegee all the bubbles out. Didn't interfere with adhesion. In fact, I went through a carwash hours after applying and it didn't present any sign of budging. I removed and repositioned the tape a lot during the app without any hurt to my car, and I doubt it will hurt the vehicle when I remove it years from now.
Used water to install on the car’s doorsills. Got most of the bubbles out, but the tape didn’t stick down 100% around the corners, so I had to trim the tape to avoid the corners. Overall, it’s not poor for the price, but could be better. I’ll probably test something else when these obtain old.update - a few days after application, more bubbles appeared. I think some adhesive must have came off when doing wet application. I will replace these with something else.
Came back to order another roll and scrolled down to the reviews and am very surprised at the number of reviews stating how challenging it is for some. My private experience is that it was simple enough; maybe due to my residential window tint experience, though that requires water. In either case, amazing product, very simple to install.
If you are installing this and have never done it before, it can be difficult and you will obtain bubbles. Overall, my experience was positive and I would purchase this product again if I required it.
Stuff arrived as described and fix it as per description the only issue is after few months it started coming out automatically. I [email protected]#$%! could stay longer. I have used it for about 3 months and since it started coming out automatically I will have to throw them by removing rest.I want It could stays at least couple of rainy season if not longer.
I am not very amazing with these types of things but it worked out really well from me. I used it on my back bumper to avoid the possible wear and tear of the weather or putting things in the trunk. Had it on for over a year now with lots of washes, and I love that it’s still clear!
Prime delivery arrived on time as usual.Purchased this clear plastic protection movie for set of fresh washer/dryer that I purchased. The washer/dryer had amazing reviews as for how they worked, but the only complain was that the paint "scuffed" somewhat easily. I used the movie to put on top of the dryer and to cover the washer door for added protection versus instructions included on how to apply the product. I used a mix of dish soap with water to spray the back of the sticky part of the movie and the top of the zone applied onto. I squeegeed the water out with a little plastic squegee. Primary install like window tint for those that have done e movie has a amazing stick to the zone of the washer/dryer. Only time will tell how well it will handle to the daily abuse of washing and drying. At least, for now, the washer and dryer have a protective movie to give them a bit more protection and hold them looking ded some images with the movie applied. If you look closely, you can see the edge of the film.
Prior to this product, I bought the 3M Movie from Vvivid in 2016 and applied it to the interior vehicle door panel, which is vinyl, to protect it from my puppy - works great! I later bought this non-3M products from Vvivid in 2017, the 6" width worked just okay, it stuck but didn't stretch or wrap as well as the 3M brand. I also bought Vvivid's 12" and it did not stick at all to the vinyl, however it does stick to painted metal. I realize I am using it in a non-standard app but I am comparing it to the 3M product which works amazing and does stretch nicer.
Do not buy this, this is a not good product, even with heat and additional care, two repeated hood wraps were botched by wrinkles and weird discolorations. The product I received was defective, it had very visible weird matte blotches in it once it was applies to the vehicle. Also, I purchased a 180" roll, the seller sent me about 166". Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
Not only is this material useless, once you buy it you can’t return it even if you haven’t used it. I purchased a much better product at an automotive store. Huge mistake not to have read reviews. I am a prime member but feel Amazon is “getting to huge for it’s britches” Will be canceling.
The plastic was too stiff, did not have enough elasticity to conform to contours. Instead it would just fold and ridge. Heat didn't help. Instead of using one piece to cover my project, I had to chop smaller pieces to cover the area. I had to work it down so much that the adhesive had to be nearly dry to adhere. This turned the adhesive into a milky paste before I could obtain the pieces to adhere. My advice: spend more money, obtain a better plastic. I'll be replacing this as soon as the fresh items arrives.
Purchased this to place on one zone of my vehicle that usually gets scratched from getting in/out (just behind the door). The zone is relatively flat and I had a tough time getting it on without air bubbles. Seems you have to push very hard with a squeegee in order to prevent air bubbles and even then, I still had problem making it completely air bubble free. It isn’t impossible to obtain the bubbles out but it requires you to peel back the movie which was already adhered to press out the bubbles. Doing this caused some strange stretch/glue lines showing up during the installation. Definitely do not buy this if it is your first time working with vinyl.
I use this movie on my Harley Tri-Glide fenders. The 8" wide is just the right width. It's is simple to apply if you are patient and follow the instructions. It is very amazing protection versus stone chips and abrasions. If it gets damaged it can be replaced with relative ease. You can't beat the price and you shouldn't ignore the risk of stone chips.
The clearbra is harder to work with than regular 3M scotchprint. I had difficulties getting the air bubbles out using my squeegee and it doesn't stretch and mold to the curves of the vehicle as at being said, I'm glad I have it installed under the Q clips of my yakima rack!
I was looking for some kind of tape more like a silicone tape to cover the control buttons on my NuWave cooktop that have now for several years and love and used all the time but constantly depressing the buttons cuz them to crack and peelI've used clear tape and didn't stick properly your product work magnificently thank you
Installed now on all four doors to reduce likelihood of paint or metal hurt to my doors, or vehicles nearby when the door gets blown begin on exit. Finesse for installation increases door by door. Appears to be a very effective product!
Would not recommend. The adhesive is gummy and weak meaning the strip is constantly coming off or moving. And the more you fix it, the weaker the adhesive gets.I have used other brands in the past that work great. I would advise AGAINST getting this as you will be wasting your money.
It went on fine. By day 2 it was coming off. Very disappointing for 3m adhesive. I would not recommend it. I used this on the front door of my Acura Mdx. I used another brand on my black truck without the glue. It has metal clips in the rubber and it worked great. It only came in black though so I bought this because Suv is silver.
Smaller than most door door edge guards, but adhesive makes it stay place and it is almost invisible. Looks nice and keeps your door edges from getting nicked. Be aware that it is a small more tedious to install, but well worth it.
I'm sorry to have to agree with the other reviewers who indicate it doesn't stick. This product isn't well designed. It's too narrow, and falls off if you touch it. Very difficult to [email protected]#$%! back on as the rubbery adhesive separates from the plastic once this happens.
Total rip-off. Advertised as 3M, but is some alternate Chinese items which doesn't say 3M anywhere on it. Did not even test since it is being sold by liars.
Beautiful slick. Take your time and create sure the surface is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. Create sure to buy a little spray bottle (I went to a beauty supply store) and fill it with 25 percent iso alcohol and the rest water. Follow the directions included and it shouldn't be that hard. I found that the solution evaporates quickly so hold spraying it as you go. Also, the tape lays down nicer and is easier to work with if it is not stretched. Stretching should only be required for curved areas. If the zone is really curved it might not stick to the back side of the door though. Your finger should be able to obtain most bubbles out, but I used a little squeegee to place the finishing touches. Obtain the bubbles out as you go, or else it will be harder to obtain them out later when the glue starts to dry. I was able to do a amazing amount of all 4 doors of my GMC truck.
This items is actually quite amazing! I just bought a brand fresh 2018 Camaro and when my mate opened the door to look inside he bumped the edge of my door versus the truck next to my car. No hurt done that time, but not got me thinking. I don’t wish to ding up the doors on my fresh car. I didn’t wish something that would stand out and create the vehicle look bad. This is the answer! Almost invisible and extremely tough.
Follow the e 75% water, 25% alcohol ean zone fully use heat gun to warm door edge and strip.Wet zone with solution, and strip as well once seperated from t at top, press lightly with thumb slowly going to bottom of strip. If correctly placed use heat gun to dry and adhere en he inside lip fold I've excess strip and stick down and work your method to te!If your door has curves to it you may need to chop the inside strip material in a few locations to obtain it to lay correctly.
Nearly invisible. Stretchy and forgiving, if you're careful. Did not peel away my pin striping when I rgiving enough to let gentle punch and pull to fit complex ld over about an 1/8" at the end to support begin each peel, if you have close chop fingernails.
Watch the YouTube videos and don't stretch it much. It goes on well and is amazing quality that should protect the paint from light to moderate dings when YOU begin YOUR door and accidentally hit something. It won't support if you throw your door begin hard and hit something hard but YOU control that. I'm glad i got this as it is a luttle wider than other related products.
I’m very glad I decided to go with this door edge guard. It seems very durable, it was simple to install (the installation videos were very helpful), and it truly is virtually invisible. Also, I really liked that it came in one strip. A few of the other options came in 36 “ pieces; it was nice to chop off as much as I wanted for each door and not have any waste. I highly recommend!
Fortunately, the roll was long enough that I could re-do two of the doors that I messed up at first. Instructions say to heat the tape with the hot air gun, but this takes tremendous finesse. The tape just shriveled up and separated when I first tried to warm it up. I'm glad I got the wider strip, too, since my door edges are not flat on the back side and I could gently warm the tape (after installing it) and press it into the non-smooth back edge.
Note that I have not used or installed this product. My review is of the app process only. The movie requires several steps of preparation to be successfully installed. Cleaning the edge of the vehicle door with rubbing alcohol is simple enough. But you are also supposed to spray the movie itself and the door with a solution that is neither identified nor included in the pack I received with the product. Then you have to apply the movie when the edge is still wet, and to heat the product itself and the edge of the door with a hairdryer for more secure application. I learned these things through a video that was not available on the www service referenced in the installation guide, but is available on Would not have purchased, had I know of these steps. Will return and buy the 3M protective movie instead.
While I haven't had the opportunity to apply yet, it appears to be the same thing my dealer uses. I don't have a very steady hand and am not sure I can hold it even so I'm going to test to search someone else to do the job.
I babysit children and they are always taking off the doorstoppers that are springs you place on your baseboard and losing them. I am so tired of getting holes in my wall of the bathroom and by the garage! I didn't wish anything to conspicious so when I saw these ones I was beautiful excited. I didn't even need to ask my husband to install them because they just stick right on! They don't ruin anything, they do look nice and are super simple to install. So far so amazing on keeping everything protected.
Preventing holes in the wall behind the doors. Behind two of the doors in our house we actually have holes from where the children begin the door so quick and hard that it created a whole appear behind the door. Since then we got intelligent and decide to place one of these door wall protectors behind every door in the house. We have white walls for the white plugs look amazing you can and told her there but yet they protect our walls and save us cash in the long run. Came on time and as described. Amazing item
Not only are these wall stoppers cute as a button they are functional. I just spent a weekend patching dents in the walls where my children have slammed doors into them. While I was searching for a stopper that required very small space, for our guest bath, I came across these. They are perfect! They installed easily, just peel off a sticker and put on the wall. They are a quality sticker (3M) and they will not rip off the paint if I need to remove them.
I have used standard door stoppers/wall protectors in the past, but these are by far my favorite!I love how little they are, how they are slightly raised, the muted white color and evwn the texture! It is almost like a gel! Very cool! Does the job perfectly!! I did search one on the ground, but I don't think it fell off...I think one of my children got to it. It did stick right back on and has stayed place since then!
My house comes with the regular spring door stopper on all interior doors, but they are likely to bent or break overtime, or if you use excessive force unintentionally. These come in handy!! I feel the material is soft but really sturdy, and can last. I use this especially for my entrance door since it's heavier, and I always worry about making a large dent on the wall. I would recommend these to my mates and family!
I purchased these to test on the bottom of my electric recliner/couch. We have laminate floors and everytime we sit on the couch or the recliner they moved on the floor and I was getting so frustrated by it. I required something that I could stick to the metal frame and that was rubbery enough to hold the furniture from sliding around on my floors. The only products that I could search were too little for my furniture. These were exactly what I was looking for. They are the right size and stick just right to the metal frame/legs of my recliner and couch.
I wanted a door stopper that isn’t an eye sore, so I was thrilled to search this 10 pack. Blends in nicely with the wall, and doesn’t stick out far. Simple to stick on, hasn’t budged since it was applied.
Bought for my office door at work, they had done some construction in the building and ended up building a wall and moving the door to another wall in my office. They never got around to getting the door protector behind the wall and the door is beautiful massive so I bought a cheap one for mine. Works good, no problems with it sticking to the wall.
These are so easy to intsall, just peel & stick. I place up about 5 of them throughout our house, only one fell off due to the huge hole behind it (from where the door knob lock had already created a hole). Want I would have bought them before my kiddos popped holes in the walls! These are a amazing alternative to the lower wall mount springy door stops we had originally.
We just got a fresh vehicle and during the purchase the dealer was selling us hard on a protection pack including these for a total of near $2000. My wife really wanted it but I couldn't accept that it would cost this much. I've had rental vehicles for work and can see the value of these clear films. Later I called some independent body shops to obtain a price and they were quoting ~$900 for a full pack but that was still more than I wanted to spend. I checked Amazon and generic kits were just ~$20-30 and a full body custom kit was ~$250-300 so after watching some YouTube videos it seemed a beautiful simple DIY re enough ordered this product and it took about 40 minutes to do all 4 doors. Most of that was just figuring out how to do the first one but after that it only took a couple mins to do the other 3 doors. I will say the small spray bottle of soapy fluid they provide is convenient if a bit fiddly to use since the siphon tube is almost 3x longer than the bottle so it was curled around inside and not really sucking anything up. A fast trim with a pair of scissors and all was amazing from then on. And I sure can't complain about the >$1900+ I saved.
Amazing product, but the pack doesn't come with a spray bottle of water and alcohol solution. I got away with a spray bottle with water laying around at home. Create sure you spray your fingertip too before you begin the installation. Create sure you strictly follow the technique to begin horizontally from the middle and spread your method vertically and outward. Pressing firmly with the full length of your finger.
The only issue I have with this product is that they send you (6) door protecters. They are in sets of 2 which means you will have various door protectors on the front and back of the vehicle. This will not create a difference to sum but to others it might be so I decided to mention it in my review. I guess you can over come this and order two e instructions are straight forward and simple to follow. If you are standing greater then 3 feet away you can't see the protectors. My car that I installed them on is bright white.
Purchased for a 2017 MDX: admittedly, I was apprehensive about installing this (e.g., if I messed up and damaged the paint in the process). First, watch their video. Second, they provide you with the cleaning/adhesive fluid spray and alcohol wipes. Third, watch their video. Seriously, just see the principles of the application. Third, remove your wedding ring and any other jewelry from your fingers. Last, I used a clean, unused microfiber cloth. Since I got my vehicle washed at the local [email protected]#$%!&?hought it was the excellent time to do so. After all this, summarily, it was simple to do, especially after the first application. Spray a liberal amount of the solution on the vehicle and the adhesive side of the protector, line it into position, create contact from the center, then dab your method outward. Using the microfiber cloth, I squeezed the liquid out (center to out), which was absorbed by the cloth. Any little bubbles were easily "wiped out" with the cloth. I want I found out about this product when I first got the car. Anyway, it's worth the investment.
I got a door cup set for my 2018 Odyssey. It doesn't cover 100% of the zone but enough to give you protection from your fingernails. Installation was super easy. It comes with 4 alcohol swabs and a spray bottle that's alcohol/water. You just squeeze out the bubbles and that's it.On my 2019 Pilot, the movie spills over just a tad out of the cup. I could have trimmed it but didn't wish to risk making it uneven. It's not that y CON: create the spray bottle 2x larger so you can spray liberally.
I’m very happy with the product. Our previous vehicle’s door cups had scratches from my fingernails and wedding ring; Not wanting the same thing to happen to our fresh vehicle, I decided to give this product a try. While I did create some slight modifications to the door cup pattern I chose to use (3 various patterns were included with the kit), installation was quite easy and the material is virtually invisible. While all of the patterns included in the kit seemed like they would work, I used the patterns that gave me the best coverage on the front doors and used one of the other patterns on the back doors. I would definitely recommend purchasing this product.
I found these protectors to be difficult to manipulate into position and obtain all air bubbles out without wrinkling them. Once in place, they appear to adhere well. Installed them a few months ago, so cannot comment on durability except to say they present no signs of wear in a couple of months.
They only give you 2 of each shape... so be prepared to be either confused, or e amount of soap they give you is comical. It will obtain one, maybe two... installed. Maybe this is a kit for a half-car and I missed it?Otherwise... I place two on one pattern on one side of my car, and two of a various pattern on the other... my OCD doesn't like that. they are virtually invisible and have stuck well so far.I regret buying these.
I came across these while looking for some other things for my car. I ordered them right away. I am always careful when opening my drivers side door, I create sure i don't scratch the vehicle with my nails or keys. However, I always search that my passenger side doors are always getting scratched on my cars. They are very simple to place on the car. I just hope if they have to come off for any reason that they don't leave any damage. Fingers crossed but so far so good.
Necessary to note with these: Majority of the cups will only take neatly with the extreme X design due to curvature. I tried and failed with the other design included even after sizing up to cup placement first. Also it is very necessary to not install these in a very warm environment. The adhesives will dry and curl fast prior to install and you’d have to work really quick to install else it won’t sit well at all. Over all it works fine. My only grievance is it really didn’t come with enough of the “X” design to do one vehicle (Only comes with 2 of these templates). The video guide helped somewhat however the instructional video was lacking in concise instructions.
PRO:1. Durable, universal and can be place on anything you wish really.2. Shipped quick, and packaged well.3. Once you learn how to install it, it'll work N:1. Comes all crumpled up in a roll. Had to put under some very massive objects overnight to obtain it to lay flat. Even then it would bend up.2. Paper backing comes off easy, so be careful not to obtain it dirty.3. NOT ENOUGH, needs to be about two feet longer.OTHER:1. Clean the surface with mild soap and water.2. DRY the surface.3. Measure twice, chop once.4. Put masking tape left and right of where you wish this to go, so you line it up well.5. Apply and USE A BLOW DRYER OR HEAT GUN, it'll lay flat*.6. Use a window tint squeegee to smooth it out and obtain the bubbles out.*Use a blow dryer or heat gun, this items is durable and can take the heat.*Use soap and water to clean it, DON'T use any powerful cleaner on this, it'll loosen the adhesive backing.
The 60" long roll is not enough to complete the four doorsills on a CX-5... I had enough to do three out of four doorsills with less coverage than I would have preferred.Easy to install using the youtube installation video, however do not use to much pressure on the squeegee to remove water. It will tear or gouge the e squeegee is created of a sharp hard plastic, when rubber would have create more sense. Use a rubber silicone edger instead.
This items is awesome! Very durable guard tape and looks very nice when applied. My truck had a lot of scrapes and scratches in the paint of the door sills. I used XPEL door sill guard tape and covered up the scratches and it turned out really well. The tape is rolled together tightly when you keep it so it's best to use a heat gun as you apply the tape to obtain the wrinkles and bubbles out from underneath the tape. It's simple to apply if using a heat gun and the end effect is awesome!
Excellent threshold solution for me! I didn't wish plastic strip taped on door sill protectors on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This door sill tape from XPEL is awesome!!! The width was nice because I didn't need to trim any. Just chop to length and apply to a clean surface (I rubbed mine down with Isopropyl Alcohol and allowed to dry). I applied by peeling back a little amount of the backing at a time pressing out any air bubbles along the way. The tape has a nice non-skid surface and really sticks nice to clean, painted metal!!! Definitely recommend to anyone who also doesn't like the plastic strip taped on door sill guards.Update: A few days after install, I noticed a little tear near the edge of the tape. Luckily I have enough to replace it. Hopefully this isn’t a sign of a fail of this product because I do like the look of it.
Just applied it today was very satisfied with how readily it stuck to the rather cold surface of my truck (approximately 16 degrees). There was about 61" of product on the spool however the latest two inches proved difficult to remove from the spool and I felt as though I was overstretching and damaging the product as I was removing it. So my rear doors on either side of the truck ended up being a half inch short.. oh ill very satisfied with the product and its installation in less than ideal temps thanks XPEL!
Where I have problems with this product is its' length that they sell this at. 60-inches comes out to 5 feet assuming excellent fabrication. If you own a truck that means you can do 1'-6" at the front and 1'-0" in the back assuming you can chop this perfectly. This leaves zero room for tolerance and depending on wear patterns this may not cover the entire length of the threshold. It would be amazing if this product came in 6 to 7-feet lengths to offer some margin of error along with enough coverage.Other than that this product matches the color of my truck and the texture prevents footwear from slipping on the waxed paint.
I was looking for a solution for protecting the paint on the edge of my fresh Subaru Forester's rear spoiler. This edge constantly rubs versus kayaks on top of the vehicle when the tailgate is lifted (a poor situation when your livelihood is carrying kayaks constantly on the car). I was a small leery of this tape's ability to round a 90-degree edge when I bought it but very happy in application. It creates a really pro-looking installation following the mfgs. procedure. While durability remains to be seen, Im very happy as if the day of the application.
Perfect paint protection movie that I have used multiple times. With one roll, I was able to cover the 4 door sills of my car, and had enough leftover to put underneath my 2 huge magnet mounted HAM antennas to prevent paint damage. With a second roll, I was able to put enough under the feet AND clamps of my roof rack as well as under the feet of the roof rack wind fairing with more than enough to replace when this wears out (which seems like it will be a while).Application is super easy. Mix water with a small liquid dish soap, apply to the underside of the movie (after peeling the protective cover away), then put where you want. You'll have enough liquid to maneuver it exactly where you wish it, and then keep it in put and squeegee out the excess liquid and wipe dry. I haven't messed up and wasted any yet. It sometimes takes a small heat (hairdryer on low) to support it conform to curves, but it holds powerful to that curve when dry.I love my vehicle and paint job and this is excellent for preventing all those nasty and disheartening scrapes, scratches, and smaller gouges. I know it has saved my rear a few times, and the rears of several people who would have suffered my wrath.
Was excellent amount for front two doors on huge SUV. Be very generous with the slip solution. This makes app easier and will give you a bit of room to move it into place. After you've squeegee it in place, little air/water bubbles will work themselves out within 48hrs. If you obtain some that don't, just prick it with a little needle.
Amazing product to protect my car from the scuffing you can expect to happen over time with getting in and out of your vehicle. As careful as you test to be, accidents can happen. The only gripe I have with this product is the price for how small tape is provided. I only had enough to fully cover 2 1/2 doors out of my sedan. Compared to factory options out there, this may be still a cheaper alternative. Otherwise, this is a worthwhile investment to have if you wish to hold your car in pristine condition as possible. I’ll order again to cover the other two doors fully.

I researched and asked everyone I knew who might have some input on this items and watched several videos just to be sure I wouldn't F this up too bad! What happened!?! I F'ed some of it up! The amazing debate is to soap or not to soap! It just goes back and forth so much and if you do it like this then it could cause this and back a forth!! So *"#$&ing instructions would have a been a lifesaver here guys!! So first round no soap and it's in the trash. Second round with soap and it went on like a dream, looks awesome and still looks amazing! That was a solid two months ago. So I really wanted to go with three or two stars here for the grief that this caused but the product looks and preforms like it should.
Perfect product! Take your time. Clean the zone being protected. Trim to your desired size needed. Apply soapy water (Dawn) from a spray bottle to the car and vinyl. Squeegee the water and bubbles out. Use a heat gun to shrink and clean up around curves and edges.
I painted the island in my fresh kitchen as a attractive "pop of color" and unfortunately that's where my garbage pail resides. We are obviously very "trashy" people, so we are constantly pulling that drawer begin to discard trash. The issue was that after only four months in the house, I began to see where the paint was being messed up. I purchased a sheet of this VViVId 3M clear paint protection vinyl just to see if it would help....and BOY did it do the trick. I touched up the paint along the top of the drawer and then chop a strip of the vinyl and applied it. It's CLEAR so all you see is the color of the drawer and it protects the paint - so no more scratches!!This vinyl movie was simple to apply and is the PERFECT solution for my problem!
Movie is a bit too flexible and soft to provide a durable paint protection. I used it on the frame of an ATV to protect the powder coat. I used this movie to replace the movie I had on the frame for over 2 years and this items lasted less than one ride. Same thickness as the old items es VViViD create a more durable film? Did I purchase the wrong one?
This movie was really simple to apply with a spray bottle of water and a amazing quality flexible squeegee (make sure to use distilled or reverse osmosis water to avoid hard water residue). The material was simple to conform to the compound curve of my motorcycle gas tank. Also there was enough stretch that I could peel up and reposition the sheet easily. It looks much more discreet than an adhesive tank pad, almost impossible to see the movie except in direct sunlight. The edges have not peeled up in hot weather or when washing the bike. A small expensive for the amount of material, but it’s worth it for the quality product. For the front of the whole bike or a car, probably more economical to go to a shop. But definitely recommended for discreet protection of relatively little locations like the back part of the tank or the side panels you [email protected]#$%! with your boot. Probably very useful for scratch protection around the house too. Recommended.
I purchased this to supplement the purchase of another 3M paint protection vinyl product; a pre-cut body panel kit for a recently purchased 2017 dually pickup. The leading edge of dually fenders really obtain banged up with rocks, so I wanted the paint protected before I racked up too a lot of miles. I used this 12" universal roll to fill in the gaps that the pre-cut kit didn't cover, including going all the method down to the bottom of the fender. To do a amazing job, this product requires a lot of patience, and the need to use home-made app mixtures per the instructions. I ended up with some bubbles, which is hard to avoid, but with a syringe, was able to remove the air pockets so the clear movie would lay flat. After several hours of work, including thoroughly cleaning the surface, the final results are excellent. Virtually invisible, and will prevent the fenders from getting those ugly chips for a long time. This is a high quality product.
I really like this product. I have never installed clear vinyl overhead lights but have refinished several pair. I wanted the finish on my Honda's headlights the latest so I bought this. It took a long time and effort to go through several grits of wet sanding paper and then putting on the final polishes. In an effort to create all that work latest by then clean the lenses with isopropyl, got a spray bottle with a few drops of mild soap mixed with water and isopropyl. It was a bit slippery to place the movie on the headlights after spraying them down but squeegeeing and adhering the movie was a piece of cake. I am by no means a pro so I left a couple of little small spots with water under them that I could not obtain out. This movie is afordable enough to wear if I don't like it I will just take it off and test e little plastic device that came with this thing is more like for working with composites than vinyl. I think I will buy a silicone squeegee for the next set I'm going to do. The small black felt tabs that came with this? I still have no idea what to do with them. If you have any idea, please comment below so that others can have some idea also.I will buy this product again for the same purpose, and will recommend it to a mate if they wish to do the same thing.
Very forgiving vinyl, peel back (no heat) and reapply. This was applied with filtered water on bare plastic (no clear coat) headlight. Durable and flexible with a heat gun. You only need a heat gun if the surface has complex curves. If the surface is flat with a single fold bend, this can be applied without heat gun and if you are daring, possibly without water. Water does let more peel back and reapply attempts. This was applied on a Mazda 2 headlight which is a challenging surface, required water and heat gun. If you end up with minor stretch marks or foggy looking spots after application- do not worry. This will fade within days even in slightly colder climate. See image. Very clear and very sticky.
I used this to protect a sheet of Lexan from getting scratched by foot traffic. I had replaced several treads on the bridge over my Koi pond with Lexan so we can see down into the pond under the bridge where the koi like to hide sometimes. The little "squeegee" provided was so-so for pushing the air bubbles out, I never did figure out what the small felt pieces were for, and since there were no instructions included I looked up the 3M instructions and watched a few Youtube looks great, Hopefully it will still be transparent after it gets walked on for several years, I expect it will be fine.
