    John Wick (4K UHD) []  2020-1-25 21:28

Must See movie. John Wick is one of those action movies which that defines a genre. While the reality of the combat may be argued by the combat cogniscenti, the quality of the characterization, the plot and the action raised the bar to such an extent it is hard to search an equal. If you have fun action films and you've never watched this movie, you're wrong.

John Wick is grieving and angry, very angry. His wife just passed away. In addition the son of a Russian mobster just broke into his home, beat him up with the support of his gang, stole his vehicle and killed his fresh puppy that was a bonus from his dead hn is a retired master killer for the mob and he was the best in the globe at his trade. He is called the Boogeyman in some circles as you never see him coming and you stand no possibility to stop him.He is coming after the mobster’s son and nothing can stop him from seeking and getting his is is a bloody and violent film and if you like that style of movie then this is one you should own. I purchased the BluRay ver with the DVD and also a digital HD film with it. I downloaded a VUDU HDX and I streamed it to my digital projector. Both the HDX digital film and the BluRay disc had perfect video and audio.I liked this movie and gave it 5 stars for being entertaining and action filled.I am glad that I purchased it to add to my video collection.

Why does everyone go nuts for this movie? I LOVED Constantine (and Matrix and Man of Tai Chi... he plays dark so well lately.) and so a lot of people recommended this that I figured I may as well it. Action scenes are solid but the story is crap. Minor spoiler alert but you obtain this is the first five minutes. World's greatest killer is retired and the schmuck from GoT steals his vehicle and kills his dog (he's had for one day) so he has to wipe out like 100 people. Want I had rented it or found a copy someone had thrown out their vehicle window in disgust. I know this will generate huge paydays for him with future installments but the story-line is just weak.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. This film had everything. Suspense, romance, drama and action. It was fun hanging out on the set of John Wick 2. I got a possibility to meet Keanu Reeves and the crew, can't wait to see the finished product.

    John Wick [DVD] []  2020-1-25 21:36

Although this movie is in the writer's own words a "simple revenge story", it is brilliantly written, acted, and shot. (BTW do you need another reason to watch when the supporting cast contains John Leguizamo, Willem Dafoe, Lance [email protected]#$%, and Ian McShane?!). The war sequences are second to none, and excepting the bad-guy thugs (who are important for the high body counts), all the significant characters are three-dimensional and have histories with each other. They speak in a shared code that lends believability and ethics (or should I say humanity) to an otherwise nihilistic and horrific hn Wick is reminiscent of Clint Eastwood's protagonist in "Unforgiven" (1992) and other remarkable anti-heroes who, although they can never truly escape their past deeds, their painful and honest struggle to extract themselves (usually with support of a loved one), and their willingness to war the evil of their former globe provides the chance of moral redemption. Needless to say, such richness raises these movies to something far superior to mere revenge stories.I cannot imagine that the coming John Wick sequel will be able to match the original's brilliance, but time will tell...

    John Wick (4K UHD) []  2020-1-25 21:28

I enjoyed watching this so much a few weeks back, I watched it again a few days ago. I didn't the Blu-ray, not yet, but I may in a few months when I can obtain it cheaper through Amazon or some other reseller - meanwhile, watching it twice in a few weeks' time is enough for now.Enough to ask one question: for a man who once killed 3 men with only a f**king pencil, what takes him to long to realize he has a backup pistol in his belt behind his back while he and the Russian punk kid's older brother are hashing it out in the club? Did the fifteen foot drop off the balcony pound some sense into him?I found it fun, intense, really wished the directors had gone into a small more detail about his background, done a small more hero development (like what's that personal small hit-man's club all about anyway? Is this what Martin Blank's nemesis played by Dan Ackroyd - Grosse Pointe Blank - had in mind in a parallel comic-book minded universe?),they could have given us more of a glimpse into the characters played by John Leguizamo, for example. There's DEPTH there, briefly flashed upon when he grabs the gun being held to his head and says go ahead and shoot without a scintilla of fear. Who IS this guy and who owns him that he's that fearless in the face of imminent death? And he hits Viggo's child and answers to Viggo in a tone like he simply said "hey you, obtain off my lawn" when Viggo could end him in very unpleasant ways, but doesn'ere are layers upon layers of background, of RESPECT, of rules, a finely crafted code of honor among thieves (killers, dealers, power brokers) one wishes existed in our very own US Congress. Everything looks very finely polished from the outside and the chaos within is managed by contracts, permissions, RULES, honorable men. VERY unlike our US Congress (chaos on the outside, God knows what behind closed doors - or maybe it's the same thing and I'm reaching here for allegory that doesn't exist). The choreography in the home invasion scenes were amazing. Very detailed but could have been a small better. I thought they were too choreographed where true CQB (and HTH) fighting is uglier, MUCH FASTER and chaotic (having been in more than a handful of bar wars and brawls in my somewhat misspent youth and surviving one home invasion) but (kudos to the director here) not entirely one-sided as John really has to struggle in a few places, but hey, wait a second... night vision gear (especially the Russian stuff) is available just about everywhere and cutting the power before a hit like this isn't just for NAVDEVGRU or other SPECOPS forces anymore. Just how stupid ARE the Russian "mafia" contract assassins anyway? Don't they know their target is (DUN-Dun-dun...) JOHN WICK? And he JUST might have a pencil or two lying around?Every time I create "dinner reservations" in the future I'm going to laugh, at least favorite stage so far? The guy who played the brother in "Rescue Me" the one from the "Mayhem" insurance commercials, playing Viggo's "consigliere" getting capped. If only more lawyers could wind up like that...It's a rare action movie I search wishing it had been longer, but I could have watched another 30 mins of John Wick, easily.I'm really looking forward to a sequel (prequel?). Lot of undiscovered location there. How DID he slay 3 guys with one pencil?

I really liked this movie, although I feel guilty for saying so. On the other hand...they killed his dog! What I really wish to comment on, though, is the high visibility the movie gives to the use of gold coins by Wick and Vigo. This is not accidental or a random plot device. There's a battle on money going on in the true world, with governments everywhere working towards making all digital. The alleged reasons are to diminish tax evasion and criminal activities. The true reason is to gain knowledge of and control over all transactions. If you don't believe this, find on "war on cash" and search out for yourself. Hollywood's culture fighters never met a globalist policy they didn't like. Watch the film again, and note how they hit you in the face with the stacks of gold coins in Wick's and Vigo's safes.Of course, the other side of this is that they're noting the historical role gold has played as money. In fact, as Alan Greenspan has noted (post-Fed), gold is the only true money. So perhaps there will be an unintended consequence here, as Wickians their own gold coins as a shop of value. And really -- a one ounce gold coin as a cover charge? Wow!

    John Wick (4K UHD) []  2020-1-25 21:28

I'm not a huge fan of over-the-top action movies. I was a police officer for 7 years, and I've been in a lot of wars and risky situations. Most of the films I see are so fake, they're hard to watch. When you watch John Wick, you'll see the main hero wrestling with foes to obtain their guns away, running out of bullets mid-fight and having to reload, and most wars end up on the ground, just like they do in true life. When he suffocates someone, it takes them a while to die, and the actors struggle for their lives in a believable way. It's all-around amazing acting from the main cast and everyone that's just there to obtain the body count higher. The stories in John Wick and John Wick 2 are great. In the first, John Wick tries to retire from his killer career after his wife dies of an illness. She gives him a dog so he can love something when she's gone, and he finds a method to have hope through his relationship with the animal. That is until someone breaks into his house to steal his vehicle and kills the dog, causing him to obtain back into his old ways to obtain revenge. It's a believable setup and the love and loss of his wife and then dog are heart-wrenching. There is a main set-piece that deserves unique mention as well: the Continental Hotel. It's run by the shady element John Wick comes from, and is filled with people like him, but there's one unique rule to the place, that no "business" can be conducted on the premises. This makes the hotel a sort of sacred ground and gives it its own life, as it features prominently in both the first and second movie. What also makes the globe of the John Wick films feel true are the use of gold token coins. John has a lot of them, and they're accepted as currency in various locations and by various people. When he pays someone in a coin, it makes the globe feel like it has existed long before we see it, that the ecosystem didn't just begin when the viewer arrived to see it like some films e second movie's plot involves John Wick having to repay a debt he owes someone from when he first started his career. This forces him out of retirement until his debt is paid. The plot of the second film isn't as motivating as the first, but the action is even better. There are more war scenes, and the quality and duration is higher. The gunplay in both of these films is outstanding. John Wick has supernatural aim with weapons, and it's not like other action films where the heroes spray bullets everywhere and no one can ever hit what they're aiming at. Keanu moves like a police officer or a soldier, always aiming down sights and prepared for what is coming around the corner. He shoots people in the foot or chest to cause them to drop their guards so he can finish them off with a headshot. He's also not a "good guy", so he kills the people that are trying to slay him without a second thought. I often watch films where the character lets the poor guy go and regrets it later. This would never happen with John Wick, and I appreciate him more for that.I rented the John Wick films at Redbox, and after I had returned them I found myself thinking about the action sequences again and again. I had to them to add them to my collection, and they were just as amazing during the second and third viewings. They've topped my list of favorite action movies, and I recommend them to anyone who likes expert gun-fighting scenarios without being unrealistic or over-the-top with gore and explosions. I recommend both movies. You don't need to see the first to appreciate the second, but you really should see both as they're that good. Eleven out of five stars if I could.

    John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum []  2020-3-30 21:35

It is extremely hard for a movie franchise to maintain its intensity. That is not real for John Wick. As wonderful as it might sound but Chapter 3 was even better than Chapter 2. The one thing that has faded however is the apter 1 had the fullest plot with Wick seeking revenge for the desecration of the memory of his dead wife. Chapter 2 was about following the rules of the assassins’ globe Wick lives within, and then ultimately breaking them. The story was thin at best in that chapter, but created up for it with some awesome action. Chapter 3 you would expect would be more of the same, but it wasn’t. I have never heard as a lot of oohs and ahhs in a film theater as I did opening night of John Wick Chapter 3. The director took the action to an wonderful e theme of this chapter is consequences. Again, like Chapter 2 things start where the latest film ended. Wick has been excommunicated by the killers for breaking the rules and was given a one hour reprieve by the head of the Fresh York Continental, Winston played by Ian McShane. He must search a method out with a whole town after him. That chase stage that goes through different areas had some of the most wonderful war scenes place to film. The choreography and just ingenious methods they employed will blow your mind.Wick then goes to different countries and areas searching for a method to escape the consequences of his actions in Chapter 2. Of unique note is Tag Dacascos as Zero hired to slay Wick. He added fresh dimensions to the classic villain with the hilarious lines and situations they place him in. The ending stage inside the Fresh York Continental where Wick has to ascend a series of stairs before getting to Dacascos I’m sure was inspired by Bruce Lee’s latest and posthumous film, Android game of Death. Amazingly there is even less of a story to this chapter than the previous one and yet it was actually better.

    John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum []  2020-3-30 21:35

"John Wick - Chapter 3 Parabellum" (2019 release; 125 min.) picks up right where John Wick 2 ended: Wick is a marked man, declared "excommunicado" by the High Table, and with a $14 million bounty on his head. As the film opens, Wick is on his method to the Fresh York Public Library to retrieve a couple of high value stuff that he hid in a book. At the stroke of 6 pm, the bounty hunt is declared open, and immediately attracts the attention of bounty hunters. An Asian gang is the first to track Wick down... At this point we are 10 min. into the film but to tell you more of the plot would spoil your viewing experience, you'll just have to see for yourself how it all plays uple of comments: when you have a franchise on your hand following the unexpected mega-success of the first "John Wick", why mess with a winning formula? So not surprisingly director (and former stunt man himself) Chad Stahelski returns to bring us the third installment of the highly stylish, ultra-violent, and meticulously choreographed franchise. More is more, except when it comes to words, where less is more: "What do you need?" someone asks. "Guns, lots of guns" replies Wick, and that just about sums up the movie. Keanu Reeves could play Wick in his sleep probably. He certainly seems to be enjoying himself. Halle Berry's hero has a 20-25 min. appearance in the movie, but Berry makes sure that every mins counts. Anjelica Houston has an even smaller role, conducting ballet practices as danger comes her method (and only reinforcing the point that these wars are just like ballet). Laurence Fishburne makes a token appearance (maybe 5 min. of screen time in total). But none of this really matters. It's all abut John Wick doing what John Wick does best: hunting and fighting."John Wick - Chapter 3 Parabellum" opened wide this weekend. The Saturday early evening screening where I saw this at here in Cincinnati was sold out down to the very latest seat, and the audience seemed to love the movie, laughing and hollering at all the right moments. Yes, I said laughing. You cannot take the film at face value, nor was that the intent. Some of the scenes are so over the top, you can't support but laugh (while bodies are flying left and right). If you are a fan of the earlier John Wick movies, you know EXACTLY what to expect, and that is EXACTLY what the film delivers. Of course I encourage you to check it out, be it in the theater, on Amazon Instant Video, or eventually on DVD/Blu-ray, and draw your own conclusion.

    John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum []  2020-3-30 21:35

Theater review. Possible spoilers. When we latest saw John Wick in the second chapter in 2017, he had just killed a hero named Santino D’Antonio inside The Coninental, a hotel and spa exclusively used by an international group of killers who belong to a mysterious cabal called the High Table. One of the rules is that under no circumstances can crimes be committed by anyone on anyone while inside the hotel. Wick (Keanu Reeves) has done just that and now has a on his head. A huge one -$e manager of The Continental, Winston (Ian McShane) had given Wick a 1-hour head start. We pick up the action in Chapter 3 as the clock winds down to the point where Wick, now declared excommunicado is fair game. (Note: excommunicado is a play on excommunicate, i.e. kicked out of a group. Parabellum by-the-way is a type of semiautomatic pistol or rifle). Now that’s out of the way, you might remember Wick has wonderful, inventive ways to slay people. Sure, any decent killer can slay someone with their hands, guns or sharp objects. The first person trying to obtain Wick, even though he’s cheating by 10 minutes, is a huge man named Ernest played by the NBA’s Boban Marjanovic. This might be the first time I’ve ever seen someone killed by a book. Wick had gone to the NYC public library to search a specific book. After the book has done its work, Wick puts it back in place. He is not a messy ad Stahelski returns to direct and pulls out all the stops. This is certainly one of those films where you park your brain for 2-hours and just allow the balletic carnage begin. There is much here that doesn’t create sense intellectually or artistically but who ter numerous attempts to slay Wick go awry, he realizes that he must search a method out, eventually going to Morocco to meet with The Elder (Said Taghmaoui) who is at the top of the High Table. There he can beg forgiveness and pledge his fealty. He is helped in Fresh York by a woman called The Director (Angelica Huston) who once mentored Wick as a young man. She now runs a combo ballet and wrestling academy. Not kidding. She helps him as does another “friend,” the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne). Both will eventually have to respond to The Adjudicator (Asia Kate Dillon) who has been sent by the High Table directors to search out how this mess with Wick ever got started and why it hasn’t been settled. She comes with her own goon squad.Once Wick gets to Casablanca he seeks out Sofia (Halle Berry) who runs the local refuge for the High Table. She and Wick have a background, one the filmmakers are keeping under wraps until Chapter 4. All we know is that Wick saved Sofia’s daughter’s life and now Wick is owed a favor. He needs her support finding The Elder. Sofia’s constant companions contain a few Belgian Malinois dogs that come in handy in some inventive dog fu that works perfectly with kung fu and gun fu we’ve come to know and love. Like the kitty in “Captain Marvel,” you will love the doggies in “Wick.”When John Wick reaches an arrangement with The Elder and returns to Fresh York, you know things aren’t finished. In what will go down as one of the amazing concluding war sequences (featuring a couple of those amazing stunt-fighters from the “Raid” movies). The choreography is amazing and the opulent setting inside The Continental features a lot of glass and plenty of weapon options. This film is brutal, ferocious, funny and features non-stop action. It doesn’t quite measure up to the brilliant Chapter 2 due to the minimalist story but it comes highly recommended for an entertaining time at the movies.

    John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum []  2020-1-22 3:34

This chapter was not as amazing as the first two. While disappointing it really didn't surprise me. Things went downhill quick when I attempted to redeem the digital stead of Ultraviolet (shut down) or Vudu, you are instructed to and use a Lionsgate VIP application on your phone. You also have an option to enter the 7 position code, hidden in very little print below the QR on the Lionsgate site. After entering the code, you are redirected to a Film Redeem site, and asked to enter the same code with your email. There are two acknowledgements that you need to create before hitting enter (1. older that 13, and 2. keep email notifications from Lionsgate). Since some genius decided to combine the two with only one check box, if you decline the emails, you cannot proceed because you are not confirming your age.Ok, so out of frustration you decide to check the box just to move forward. Guess what......the 7 position code comes back as "invalid".Summary:1. Instead of going with a commonly used platform like Vudu, they decided to make a Lionsgate VIP QR code, and scan it with a fresh phone app.2. The only alternative option is enter the 7 position code on the fresh Lionsgate VIP redemption website, which ultimately bounces you to Film Redeem website and fails with "invalid code".3. Amazon CS tries to help, but is powerless to fix this mess made by Lionsgate.4. I sent an email to Film Redeem Cust Service as indicated on the pack (24 hr response time?), but I suspect they are inundated with complaints if this is a widespread issue.5. Extremely disappointing!!! Not good storyline, the magazines magically keep 60 rounds again, the hand to hand and basically general fighting was extremely not good ( count how a lot of times actors just stop and wait for another actor to catch up or to strike them. Too easy, too fake. I LOVED this series up to this point. If this is the method they are taking it, I hope it stops here. If you are going to do it, don't right. There are already too a lot of [email protected]#$% shoot-em-ups out there. Create something as true as possible and you'll obtain my again, otherwise, I am out. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum []  2020-1-22 3:34

    John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum []  2020-1-22 3:35

Theater review. Possible spoilers. When we latest saw John Wick in the second chapter in 2017, he had just killed a hero named Santino D’Antonio inside The Coninental, a hotel and spa exclusively used by an international group of killers who belong to a mysterious cabal called the High Table. One of the rules is that under no circumstances can crimes be committed by anyone on anyone while inside the hotel. Wick (Keanu Reeves) has done just that and now has a on his head. A huge one -$e manager of The Continental, Winston (Ian McShane) had given Wick a 1-hour head start. Imagine a twelve year old watched the first john wick and then wanted to write a sequel. That's basically what this film is. Beautiful literally one of the most boring films I've ever watched. Thank goodness I didn't watch in the theater because I would have walked out before the end (which took what could have been an interesting twist and created it colossally dumb). War scenes were moderately interesting but without the cold blooded and professionalism of the first John Wick. Just a dumb, dumb, dumb movie.

    John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum []  2020-3-30 21:35

The original film had a plot that kept the film rolling forward through the action scenes. The second movie's plot was as good, but it compensated by exploring the universe made in the first movie. Chapter 3 doesn't have a plot to speak of. It's mostly John Wick running for his life, making the action tiring.Where plot and exploration of the universe are introduced, it is done in a senseless, empty example is the introduction of The Elder, a Bedouin living in the middle of the Moroccan desert and sits above the high table. It is unclear why would such a position exist and why would he live in the middle of the desert, except to create up for so a lot of mins of e adjudicator makes for a related problem. Toward the end of the movie, she just sits in a room in the NY Continental, and magically knows when all her killers have been killed by John Wick and Charon, just so she could call Winston to negotiate with him. She identifies herself as an adjudicator by handing over a coin, the film not addressing the question of what would prevent anyone from passing the coin in to show himself as an adjudicator. This is a contrived method, just to build on the existing coins.I expected the film to reach it's end point within an hour, then continue to the 4th movie's plot. Apparently there's more in going the other way. Next movie, I'll wait for the reviews before seeing it.

Just wow. This film hits it on all the right notes, from the cycle chase/katana stage (inspired by Villianess? amazing film) to my favorite, the Moroccan sequence with Halle and the awesome dogs, to Laurence F to Keanu's superb weapon handling & badassery, this film simply rocks.Fellow dog lovers will appreciate all the references; I was impressed by Halle's phenomenal stunt work with them in Morocco, plus Halle's grit, beauty & strength (and the water bottle stage in the desert was lol).Keanu is intense, focused and outstanding as always -- you always deliver, thanks. Totally believable weapon handling, props for taking time to train, you're authentic. Plus when I look up the word "[email protected]#$%" in the dictionary, there you are, lol. Well done. Amazing chemistry with Halle, and squad war choreography. I lol at the best line, eg Sophie "he shot my dog", Keanu deadpans "I obtain it". :pThis is one of those rare films I've watched over and over again, it's packed with creative action sequences. The war stage in Morocco I've watched eight times; it rocks (runtime at min 57).Writing, visual fx, war choreography, set design, the fresh Adjudicator (Asia you rocked; fan from Billions; you're compelling; strong), it's all ad the squad place so much work into this. Brilliant directing, quick paced & intense. Writing didn't obtain in the method of the acting. Watching behind-the-scenes youtube videos, Keanu & Halle thankfully place in long hours to prep for this, and it shows. Gritty, authentic and special scenes makes this a wonderfully crafted movie. If I were to improve it I'd chop the entire director/ah role (convoluted, slowed the pacing; Judi Dench would've been better) & replace with more Laurence F/bowery; he's excellent. In the intro library stage the villian was boring af, a female badass killer would've been better, like Harley Quinn. The 2nd war stage w/asian gang was a bit too long. And the entire ballet/director stage was truly boring af & a waste; the high table backstory could've been written much e scenes with phone operators updating Wick's status added a nice urgent touch, 50s retro style done perfectly (way better than a modern digital set; liked the rotary phones/chalkboard etc, brilliant set design). The concierge guy & hotel manager also delivered solid, believable rk D was Amazing as Zero, a super bad-guy for Keanu to fight, very human + lethal; you delivered one of the best villian hero performances I've ever seen, being both ruthless and fan of John Wick, nice balancing act. Films are only as amazing as their heroes/villians, and you crushed it. Genuinely liked your character. You created a sympathetic multi-layer poor guy who is genuinely interesting. Funny sitting on sofa scene. Solid martial arts in final glassroom war scene. Bravo.I'm sure the cast & squad read all these reviews ... a lot of thanks to all of you for putting in the hard work to create this a total kickass movie; I appreciate your talent. Longtime fan of Keanu, Halle and Laurence -- thank you!Ken Calhoun, founderTradeMasteryp.s. if you ever need an incredibly handsome popular stock trader / sax player in a bit role in a future film, it would be my honor, and yes I'm serious :)p.p.s. grateful to Finally see a amazing movie recently, you folks have my thanks for doing it right. Any reviewer that gave this masterpiece a 1 star has also complained about Captain Marvel not getting enough screen time in Endgame. This chapter went deeper into the lore of the high table and the John Wick universe and that's where it differs from the other two as this was less then a blood lust action movie (even though there was a lot of that!). Going deeper into a story while making sure the whole film keeps you at the edge of your seat is a difficult task that Chapter 3 does very well, it also creates a large opening for Chapter 4 at the end where it will take on a more vengeful path where seeking redemption is no longer a consideration for John. I cannot wait for the bloodbath!!!

    John Wick [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD] []  2020-1-25 21:28

    John Wick [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD] []  2020-1-25 21:28

    John Wick [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD] []  2020-1-25 21:28

Wow!

    John Wick: Chapter 2 - 4K Ultra Hd [Blu-ray] []  2020-2-7 21:43

John Wick Chapter 2 delivers much the same feel, tempo and action sequences as the first. It also has much the same idea- John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is a lethal killer who is trying to stay retired only to be pulled back in the game. The film picks up where the first one left off with a amazing vehicle and motorcycle chase and an immediate high body count as Wick reclaims his stolen Mustang. This all before the opening credits. The plot is related to the first one as he's pulled back into the game, this time by Italian mobster Santino D-Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) who demands Wick the debt of his blood marker. From here it's mostly Wick and every henchman for hire there is. What created the first John Wick film enjoyable is it's highly stylized ongoing wars between Wick and the poor guys and here those actions scenes are ramped up and nearly constant. If anything that's the one criticism of this movie and that is after a while, all the deaths seem repetitive and more than a small bit ridiculous in his ability to just hold going regardless of sustaining near fatal injuries. There is a sly reunion between Reeves and Laurence Fishburne that has a touch of their work together in the Matrix Trilogy. Also note Reeves did 95% of the war scenes himself as well as the driving scenes and according to the trivia, he spent three months training for this. I give him for dedicating time and energy to throwing himself into the part, and I'm sure emerging with more than a few bumps and bruises as a result. Most actors wouldn't go near this amount of physical action sequences. There is lots of blood with lots of violence but if you liked the first John Wick you should have fun this return to that world. And the fact that the film is called Chapter 2 suggests a third chapter won't be far behind.

    John Wick: Chapter 2 - 4K Ultra Hd [Blu-ray] []  2020-2-7 21:43

This is my go to movie for showing off HDR and positional audio and just audio in general. It is far better than the first one in my opinion if for no other reason than the trope used to begin off the first movie had me groaning in disappointment. The first movie wasn't quite as stereotypical and frustrating as Law Abiding Citizen (which I also love but skip the entire intro that establishes the protagonist's motivation because it is infuriately clichéd and lazy on the writers' part) but this film doesn't even come close to tempting me to skip past the beginning when I re-watch it. The only thing that bothers me is the reliance on unrealistic/impossible body armor. I would prefer to see Keanu use his considerable physical talent to avoid being hit all the time rather than sometimes relying on body armor that can't possibly prevent bullet and even if it did would effect in shattered bones, ribs, and significant internal bleeding from internal organs as well as lethally significant temporary incapacitation. It really stretches my ability to suspend disbelief. Fortunately it isn't heavily relied on. Two scenes are particularly poor and the rest are fine.

The first film was great. This film has the same or related elements of the first, but it just doesn't quite met the level of the first movie. By analogy, Bond films were always fun, but there were differences in viewer enjoyment due to plot, actors, etc. With a couple of exceptions, I was never disappointed. This is a amazing movie, just not as amazing as the first; but it is better than others in its anu Reeves spent months learning martial arts, driving, and weapon handling. This is a physically demanding role.

    John Wick: Chapter 2 - 4K Ultra Hd [Blu-ray] []  2020-2-7 21:43

John Wick is one of the largest surprise hits of the latest few years. I don't think anyone saw a trilogy coming when they saw trailers for the first film, but it's become a pop culture phenomenon even. Chapter 2 sets out to follow-up John Wick in every method and create it bigger, badder, and better than ever. In the rare case of successfully following up a hit movie, Chapter 2 does everything right. From sticking with the same globe and characters, to amplifying all of the correct choices from the first film, it hits every single beat that it needs anu Reeves has stumbled upon this role of John Wick and really owned it. I don't think anyone else could capture the tone (whether intentional or not) that this movie puts out there, and his ambiguity and vague range of emotion support paint this globe that David Leitch and squad have created. Keanu is un-phased by the globe of killers around him, especially after all that he's been through since the first movie. Chapter 2 picks up a few days where we left off from, and in trying to "get out" he has one more favor to doing so, John Wick sets off a fateful set of happenings that cause his globe to collapse around him and leave him with no choice yet again. Betrayed by the very globe of killers that he wants to escape, he finds himself hunted by a select few that now wish him dead. Common joins the ranks of John Wick actors and does a amazing job of being Keanu's main antagonist and plays it with the cold but calculated approach in only the method Common could. He matches up versus him very well, as well as Ruby Rose who plays a mute killer that adds to the flavor of the e universe that has been made for this series is very loosely structured and presented, so it never quite becomes about the globe and only John Wick. However, it's the excellent backdrop for all of the gratuitous violence and action to take put and is one of those choices that create this movie so fun. There are a few points that set off a sequence of intense sequences, all of which have very small time on either end of them so it makes for a pulse-pounding action thriller. I don't recall watching a film that is as "pedal to the metal" as this since something like Jason Statham's Crank, or the more latest The Raid hn Wick: Chapter 2 is the definition of fan service, but does it successfully in every way. It never strays too far away from the primary story to become just mindless violence, but beautiful much is the equivalent of a theater marquee lit up in neon. It's brilliantly paced and is truly non-stop. I would say that John Wick is a amazing movie and has a beautiful decent story, where this just manages to have enough of one to bring the hero back and just up the ante. It does so perfectly and avoids the pitfalls of the aforementioned Crank's sequel, Crank 2 where it became very wonderful and comical. I think I would watch this sequel over the first movie more often than not, just because it's phenomenal action sequences including all kinds of hands, gun, and weapon combat just create it so much fun to came in amazing condition with foily, shiny slipcover. 4K, Blu-ray, and digital copies included in this release.

I barely remember John wick but I seem to remember enjoying it. This one? Not so much. What was the appeal supposed to be? Who was I rooting for?I read some reviews how he had to train for 4 years for fighting and weapons. I’d say it wasn’t worth whatever time he invested. If you wish something over the top the original transporter or quick and furious series. If you wish fighting and action go watch just about any old jet li is was just poorly done in my opinion. I think it was supposed to be a moral dilemma at first except the only one that felt it was the audience certainly John Wick didn’t careAlso I’ve always like reeves and liked beautiful much all his shows. That said whoever said he has learned to act and grown up what the h$&@ are you talking about? He just walks around in silence most of the film in between all the lame war scenes.I used Amazon’s quick forward skip ahead button for a lot of this movie. I think I purchased instead of rented (ouch). I don’t really know what happens in the end and I don’t care either. Now I think that says it allSkip this one. There’s the traditional lemmings and shills bumping up the score but nothing to see here.

If you liked the first John Wick movie, you'll like this one. If you haven't seen the first John Wick movie, you need to go back and watch it first, since it sets up what happens in this movie. Lots of action, lots of bodies, lots of Keanu Reeves looking stoic and killing more people. For me, John Wick II is another enjoyable popcorn flick. John Wick II is another non-stop bloody action-filled film that thankfully minimizes the gore while maximizing the body count. But watching John Wick in action is somehow at times catharsis for our loss of hope and satisfied endings. Life is not fair or just, but for a moment, we can pretend that we, like John Wick, can be masters of our fate and grab that justice for ourselves, even if it doesn’t require such a bloody sacrifice. Spoiler: The dog does not die in this movie. End of spoiler. Obtain out the popcorn and fire up the show.

David McCullough has brought history to life for me like no one and nothing else ever has. The first book of his I picked up was 1776 and I was hooked by the second paragraph. It was the beginning of a very unbelievable love affair. McCullough's commitment to research enables him to make a broad and in depth picture of his characters and their environment. I fell in love with George Washington and learned so much about him I'd not known. I flew with the Wright Brothers, lived with Harry and Bess Truman, painted with the Masters in The Greater Journey and helped build the Panama Canal! I'd like to have had John Adams as a father! We need men with his integrity, calm, intelligence and common sense today! In this day of political turmoil this book prepared me to understand how we got here and where we may be headed.

    John Adams [Book]  2018-5-4 18:0

GREAT book! You'll learn more about the American revolution than you can imagine. Portrays well how much his faith influenced his actions and decisions as a revolutionist and later as president. It also gives amazing insight into the life of the venerable Abigail Adams and the on, off, and finally on until death friendship with Thomas ams is likely the one of the two or three most influential, and likely the most underappreciated of our founding fathers. He sacrificed his own political successes to do the right thing for the country and probably secured our successful future as a nation. Had we ended up at battle with France in the late 17/early 1800s, it would have most certainly been disastrous for a young, fragile nation. Definitely not a excellent man, but praise God for John Adams and the freedom we have fun because of his selfless sacrifices. I highly recommend checking it out.

    Dear John []  2019-12-31 18:47

Dear John is a attractive story all around. Like other books by Nicholas Sparks, there is no satisfied ending for John and Savannah. When I first started reading Dear John, I had low expectations. I saw the film before I read the book, and I honestly did not like the movie. I hated how it ended. I didn't like how some things just didn't add up in the movie, so of course I had to go out and the book to see what really happened and what was going on in the heads of the e book was an simple read. It is told in John's point of view and is split into three parts. I found myself immersed in John's life. I fell a small bit in love with John. When he was hurting, I found myself wishing I could comfort him. Unlike the movie, the book gave me insight to why Savannah did what she did, and I didn't hate her like I did in the second half of the movie. Even though Savannah and John do not end up together (as you search out in the first pages of the book), I found this to be one of the best love stories I've ever read. I loved the decision that John created in the end! Although it did not give him his satisfied ending, it created the person he loves of the things I did not like were the 'war' scenes. Maybe it is just me, but I search reading about battle boring. Those few 'war' scenes had me putting down the book for a while. Other than that, a amazing read that I would recommend to anyone!

Cheats and save states for GBA roms don't stay after closing the app. Fix this, please. 3. Add diagonal controls to the d-pad. It can be frustrating to play fighting android games right now, a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Have used the others for a long time and I have to say this one runs like the others. I've give it a 5 star if this can be moved to SD card like the others, or a Wifi/Bluetooth Link.

Needs the ability to link two games. I'd like to be able to trade Pokemon between Emerald and Sapphire, for example. As of right now, that's the only flaw in this app.

This was a "reminisce" acquisition; my old album collection had long ago disappeared, and I wanted to visit the (happy) past for a small while. In my opinion, John Prine is one of the amazing story tellers -- like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, et al -- of his time. His songs (or stories) are persuasive, deeply appealing to our emotional sides; this is a favorite of my favorite 'albums'. His FIRST album!!! Priceless 'early-on' hits like Sam Stone, Paradise, and Donald and Lydia. Disc has beautiful amazing sound quality, but even if not, it's not really so much the melody (instrumentals) as it is the rhythm/beat and words. Still, fine production. Price, itself, I'll note, is a bit more than what we for vinyl back in the 70s! :>)

This first album is the one that contains the tunes Kris Kristopherson asked John to sing over and over for him the night he met John and heard him sing. Kris thought that no one that young should be able to write songs " that massive ." This is still one of my favorites.

I knew I had to have this one the min I heard "Sam Stone". I can't exactly say what it was about the song, but something in it haunted me for days after I had heard it on a local radio program. Ditto that for "Paradise". His melody never fails to tell a story and it's usually one that stays with you for a long, long time. "My other favorite from this album would have to be, "Spanish Pipedream".

He is a living (even more: surviving) legend, proving that Tom Waits is not a total aberration in American culture. There are some more thoughtful songwriters, still). Light irony, sometimes silent anger somehow in tune with his plaintive, a tad suffering-suffused voice, conjuring a lot of vivid, very detailed portraits of people, deserving our pity or at least embarassment. somehow, you are surprisingly able to care for those addicted veterans, unhappy lovers or losers. And somehow, it makes you not only a bit sad, but also a small better than yourself. For a lonely, nostalgic evenings with a glass of bourbon - might be addictive!
