I'm a sailing instructor. When sailing at night, or offshore, we clip ourselves to the boat using a tether. The problem is that most tethers don't begin wide enough to clip onto the ubiquitous stainless steel handles in the cockpit. These carabiners are almost excellent because they begin 0.9 inches and the locking mechanism is simple to operate yet secure. They'd be excellent if they opened just a bit further to accomodate a 1 inch tube.
We bought these to hold our very huge German Shepherd in his crate while we were out. He was bending the cage and breaking out he had chewed through 3 clips already due to separation anxiety, it was insane. We bought these as a latest ditch effort to include him and although he's chewed the paint off and dented them slightly they've held strong!! We can run an errand with confidence knowing our bear of a dog isn't destroying our house!! I'd give this yen stars if I could! definitely worth every penny!
Actually, I just bought this for a keychain but, wow, is this thing solidly built. Quality materials and workmanship down to the latest detail. I can tell this is professional. The one hand opening of the twist lock does take some getting used to for an amateur like myself but a pro wouldn’t have any trouble. I just like holding it and playing with it. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
These are well created in design, fit and finish. Gate lock works well. Using for light winching work with an ATV. Bought a 2nd pair for field work with a massive tripod to securely attach to backpack while maintaining fast detach ability and setup. Also work in corrosive environments though its too early to comment on keep they will keep up in the long term. Message the breaking and working strength. Well up the scale which was the initial attraction.
One must use the biner before you need it, obtain familiar how it works. I work it with my thumb because of the perfect grip on the locking mechanism. It will not allow your thumb/finger slip off while you turn it and begin it. Allow it go and poof instant lock. Awesome.
The design is beautiful. The fast twist locking mechanism is great. I've lost keys off those cheap non-locking "carabiners" several times. Now, with a REAL carabiner rated at over 4,900 lbs. (closed gate) that is perfect as a key chain. I love it. Never can tell when you just might need it.
Well created like everyone says. I chose the manual screw lock because it is easier with one handed operation than the auto lock but either looked good. I use them with my harness for climbing trees so I will modernize if I fall and it catches me. If you don't see an update, it either means I did not fall, or it did not catch me :)!
We are from Fortune Hunters and we've used this hook to search out what could be hiding in the water. This hook is super powerful and still isn't showing any signs of damage. Amazing grappling hook. Thanks guys!
Exactly what I was looking for. Nephew thinks it's amazing though I have no idea what he is going to do with it. My sister and brother in law thinks it looks risky and he will obtain hurt. I think that makes him like it more.
These seem to be well created and strong. We use them to hang our horses' hay nets up and although they are rated for heavier weight, the horses will place them to the try when they yank on the nets to obtain the hay out. We like the fact that they lock so when pulling the hay out of the nets, they don't accidentally open. Amazing product and worth the price.Edit on January 28, 2019I'm following up on my previous post above after a couple of months of use and some cold and frosty weather. As stated above, we use these to hang some slow feeder hay nets for our horses so they are mostly out in the weather, although we have used them in the barn on very poor weather days. Our temps have been ranging from 4 to 40 degrees with periods of freezing rain, rain and snow. Some of these carabiners have done fine but others seem to lock up, even in the barn, in these weather conditions. I am referring to the screw lock that you turn to lock the carabiner in the closed position. I have one that is rusting. Sometimes, we search that the screw lock is undone in the morning when we retrieve the nets. Horses do yank on the nets beautiful hard at time, we have one that is quite forceful, but even then, I don't know how the screw lock comes undone. So far, none have come off the the eye screws we hang them from but I was expecting a bit better performance from these, even in poor weather, because of what they are used for and because they are stainless steel. I'm still satisfied with them, but a bit disappointed that I have to use a wrench sometimes to undo the screw lock. Maybe they are just not rated for cold temps and/or wet conditions.
CAUTION: This is actually a beautiful sturdy carabiner but unfortunately someone else figured that out before I did. I purchased it in black and some of the silver was showing through in two areas. That means a) someone else already used it and didn't like it or b) they don't have the best quality control. Would I scuffed it up in a few months (or probably days)? Sure, but if I'm buying something new, it should at least look new.
These are ideal for HEAVY DUTY APPLICATIONS. They are more than enough to carry human body weight without any concern. They would not be a amazing choice for climbing activities where weight is a concern. They are maybe 3X the weight of more traditional carabiner.
I got these for my safety chains between the motorhome and my Ford Fiesta tow car. They are solid steel and begin easily. The locking feature is flawless. These will create my rigging quicker without sacrificing safety. If you wish huge massive duty locking carabiners these are an perfect choice.
These things are awesome. I bought them to build my own TRX body resistance trainer but now I'm going to carry some on my ATV and use for attaching my winch to items and for towing/pulling other machines out of present or mud! Love these things!
Very satisfied with this carabiner. You can tell its quality as soon as you pick it up. Snapped on to my ceiling mount with no catching or resistants... and they lock screwed into put with no problems at all. Very satisfied with it and have no doubts that it will be hanging in my garage for years to come.
Use this at work and seems to be constructed well and is massive as steel should be. The gate and screw both operate smoothly. Maybe the screw is not as nice as my other carabiners that are 4 times the cost, but for my use, it works well and I don’t really nice a huge difference.
These are really solid. I'm not a serious climber but will use in camping and trekking (bear lines). A amazing value for your money. You cannot go wrong with these! EAK Distribution is very amazing about followup after your purchase.
I tell ya, these carabineer were all over the board when it came to price & quality. So, I took my time and found these. Not cheap but man are they solid. These are the kind courageous people hang off Rick walls with! These are steel with locking system. Unbelievable product, very satisfied I didn't cheap out.
Very nice, very powerful carabiners. Highly happy and will buy more of these again from this ipped quickly, responsive seller, followed up with me immediately to create sure that all was commend highly!
I waited awhile to give a review, and i must say I'm impressed. Im the guy that uses these for keys and whatnot while working EMS after one of those 2 cent ones failed on me. Even if the locking mechanism is too huge for a ring, there is a method to rotate it around and create it work, but I've only had that issue once. The locking mechanism itself has been buttery smooth, and you only need 1 hand to begin it with ease, and when you allow go it locks smoothly every time. It's not that heavy, and not that cumbersome, and doesn't look too tacky on my belt loop.
Beautiful much what I expected, but they were not the same as in the picture. It appears to be grey with a purple lock, but instead the one I received was solid purple.
These are larger than I thought but work really well. I mainly use to keep all my keys rather than climbing but they look amazing and function very well for my use.
Use these for a self created linemans belt for putting up deer stands. They work awesome and are amazing for one hand operation.
Better than I thought they would be. Right up there with Petzl. My use is texas rigged decoys.
A easy principle behind it, you just need to practice how to throw it correctly and that’s e rope is of amazing quality and resistant too… but beware for trying to descend to quick on it without gloves will cause bruises or even burn. As for the knot it comes well but I remade it to reinforce it and added some metal brackets to the red thermal constrain tube it held it… I also improved the chop of the finish hint ending the rope as it could begin undoing e hook comes sharp and will sink in wood and rock easily.
Here a while back we had a tornado and a bunch of down limbs got hung in our trees and I bought this in hopes it would support us pull them out and lol now I hold this in my bag not only did it pull out the limbs but it's handy for all kinds of this.
All I had hoped it would be - powerful and heavy. I use it to pull fallen branches from my pond and it works very well for that use. The rope is powerful too. My only quibble is that the rope should be seared on the ends to avoid unravelling, but not hard to do myself. Recommended.
Used it to hooks branches for control while trimming them. Worked great! This one holds up to 150 pounds which is quite a bit of force when pulling on little to medium branches while controlling their fall. Highly recommend!
Bought two of these for my boys. They love them. They can go out climb any tree they wish now and I'm satisfied they're getting exercise.
Performed as expected, was bought as a gift-well received &met all expectations
Amazing hook combo. Was able to pull up chain that had sunken in a lake. Spikes super sharp, be careful!
I like the hook. Very powerful as I hooked some trees to tutorial as I chop them down. Unfortunately the nylon rope broke on one of the times I chop down a tree. I should have ordered a stronger rope?
So far so good. Works well for what I’m using it for. Nice length of rope.
We compared this with others. Looks and feels more safe, durable than some others. Eady to place on and comfortable.
Amazing chalk bag! Comes with a strap to place around your waist while climbing and a carabiner for latching. Keeps the chalk from spilling if you secure it tightly closed.
High quality chalk bag for rock climbing. Comes with a mini carabiner to clip onto harness.
Not just for climbers! I use mine for playing my bodhrán. No more sticking or friction burns! Really Nice product! well created and not too big! Provides just the right amount of dust without creating a large dust cloud like Pigpen from Charlie Brown! Closes nice and tight. Comes with carabiner that hangs perfectly on my instrument stand for simple access in-between songs.
Excellent for a sack of powder chalk, but not sure how it would fit a block. A little opening when cinched shut but very small ever gets out when I bump it.
I'm beautiful fresh to bouldering so I didn't need any fancy chalk bag. I got this because it was cheap and it looked turned out to be a amazing bag, It's durable amazing looking and seals well. I have been using it for a couple of months now and I have seen no signs of wear and tear.
On hot days hands can sweat and slip on golf club making for a really not good shot. However, if one uses this chalk in this super sharp bag, your hands don't slip and you create a amazing shot. Love this chalk
Amazing bag, a small smaller than I excepted though, but it’s excellent for climbing especially in the gym.
These carabiners are marked as massive duty - and while I haven't actually tested their strength, I'm not sure I'll be able to. If you rock climb or go mountaineering, you know the typical ropes that you use to secure yourself. The size of these carabiners are really small, so little that it's very difficult to thread the rope through them for any climbing or securing purposes. They seem more for like attaching accessories than for actual climbing.
May be okay for hanging keys on or very lightweight objects, but can't possibly see how they would keep up a vehicle like in the photos! The junction we're the opening meets isn't grooved where the frame interlocks together for strength has one would expect. While they're a decent lightweight design overall, they're beautiful lame without that nsidering returning them, but I'm not sure it's worth my time & effort.
12kn : There's only a little shred of ferrous metal in this clip as proven by a 1350 lb rated magnet, but it barely sticks, indicating that it's just the spring. The locking mechanism works great, though it's a bit hard to operate with gloves on which is why I don't do that. Also, the thicker rope running through the clip twice can bind up the locking mechanism, so create sure that it closes appropriately when you're putting a lot of rope through the clip. But they are VERY SECURE, which is what I wanted since I'm attaching it to a 50 dollar magnet on the end of a rope to pick litter out of the local lakes and rivers.
I thought they were larger then they actually were... can’t be used for what I required them for...
Love these. Tired of the cheap ones for my keys. I can use these for a fast tie down or lock my keys to my pants or bag. The price is cheap enough. Considering that I usually go through 2 or 3 cheap ones a year.
These carabineers, while are not rated for climbing, are not the cheesy junk I normally find. They are lightweight but solid and excellent for camping and hiking and at a decent price point.
These work beautifully for attaching leashes to dog harnesses without concern of detachment during training/play. Simple to use and the locking pieces attach securely without being difficult to open/close, highly recommended!
Size it amazing for key chains. The hinge is a small loose, so sometimes closing, it hangs up. Just create sure it’s closed. Also the pin for the hinge is a small too long, so that it may snag on things.
Very Cheap Aluminum like you see for a buck at discount stores. Totally not worth the price, and would never keep 2697lbs. Wouldn't keep 269.7lbs, maybe 26.97lbs.
What can I say, the quality is beyond expected. Allow me tell you buying carabiner online seems like dangerous business. I would recommend these and would buy again. Amazing price, amazing quality. A must have !
Used this as a safety harness when I rented a 50' "boom lift". It adjusted easily and was comfortable even after several hours but since I managed not to fall out of the bucket I don't know how well it works. It seems to be sturdy and well created and I expect to use it for my ladder stand during deer season. If I fall out of the stand I will modernize my review (assuming it works well enough that I survive).
works amazing for tree climbing. I use this lightweight harness for deer hunting, getting away from all the massive ladders. Not the most comfortable, but as comfortable as any other, unless your spending huge cash for all the additional padding and weight.
we bought it for resale our customer has not complained about it and seemed very satisfied with it when he bought it but i cant give a actual review of the item
I've only had ‘manual’ locking carabiners or screwgates, so these carabiners are a neat change. They are light, well-made and have a clean smooth finish. The spring in the rotating sleeve is smooth and you can begin it with one hand - just keep the barrel with your thumb and index finger and twist. This is a standard two-step twist locking carabiner - you twist the barrel and push begin the gate. The carabiners automatically lock when you release the gate as the barrel springs back to its original 'closed/locked' position. Note that the size of the carabiner is smaller than the ones used with your belay device - it has a major axis strength of 22kN, and minor axis strength and gate begin strength each of 6kN.
They're nicer looking and feeling than I expected for the price and for being a brand I've never heard of. The twist-lock action is smooth and easy, as is the gate. They're stamped and rated by CE and EN standards which is reassuring though I'm still not 100% sure I'm ready to bring myself to rely on these for critical protection when climbing. But that said, they'd be excellent for gear hauling, hammocks, accessory gear..and in reality I'm nearly certain they'd hold. Obtain them, and you can decide for yourself.
Considering that these are created for climbing, I expected the locks to be safe and sturdy.. Therefore if they work for climbing is say value is extremely amazing for the price. Since I don't climb, I wanted very sturdy hooks for hanging my massive punching bag. The lock is amazing. Got to work a small to obtain the lock begin but it's still possible with one hand. Have to turn and push latch. If you allow go, the latch locks again. Saving your life or grabbing whatever you are hooking. That said, I've got a 80lb bag hanging from a spring that holds 250lbs. I'm 200lbs and hung from the bag. The 250lb spring barely moved and the hook didn't move. So I guess it works. It's been up for a week. The try will be a lot of hours of hitting from the children over months.
I was beautiful amazed at the size when I got these. They are bigger than your typically carabiner, but look fantastic. I still use them for my keys and you can barely use 1” key rings with them.I prefer these as they do have practical use in emergency situations. The locking feature is various than what I’m used to but after 1 day I’m already getting the hang of it (no pun intended).I’m hoping the paint holds on for a long time as I’m sure that’ll be the first thing to break down.
Bought these for my hunting/camping excursions (and my bug-out bag), but have used them around the farm. A bit lighter than I would like for climbing a 100' tree, but secured items enough to move things around the place. I wouldn't stress them more than the advertised weight though - not sure of the safety factor in figuring that. I have some 5,000 LB biners for climbing.
Purchased for a hammock. Worked great. Gates opened easily but only after carefully twisting the locking collar. The locking feature is more than I think I need but satisfied to have it.Hammock, you say? These carabiners are sold for RAPPELLING, so isn't this a bit much?NOT AT ALL!! Think about it. You're relaxing in your hammock--which, in my life, is a rare and precious blink of the eye. Then suddenly you're PLOP on the ground? Or more like CRUNCH--call 911. No thank you! I wish a hammock setup that safely holds two people, plus a huge dog who suddenly jumps in (or a huge child, take your pick).Happy with these carabiners. They meet my (perceived) needs perfectly.
I was really just looking for easy carabiner type clips (typically 2.5 inch that you obtain at conferences with company logo's on them, etc) to secure my ball cap / keys / etc. to my backpack when I travel for work. Thought they looked cool (which they do by the way!). They match my OGIO work backpack (Black with Red highlights), so that looks cool. I was surprised at what I received. Probably because I didn't read the entire description! These are quite huge and truly meant for climbing. I'm a "large guy" and these take up the entire palm of my hand. They're a amazing 4" long and according to the packaging, help hundreds of lbs of weight, which I'll NEVER use; but it looks cool. Overkill for my needs, but they look cool! The twist lock feature works great. There's NO CHANCE anything clipped into these will obtain lost while I travel. While going through airports, I'm often complimented on them and asked where to obtain them.
Used these for fast disconnect for my weight lifting home ey are clearly marked with correct industry ratings and method over rated for my application.
First i wish to tell you that i'm not a climber of any sort, i bought these to attach things to back packs and bags. The clips are very well built and work smooth with precision, the clip locks with a 1/4 turn latch so you don't have to worry about it coming begin and losing anything you would clip onto. My children took two of them to clip onto their camera bags to keep extra items, looks cool also.
The carabiners work as advertised and the fit/finish is excellent. I bought these to carry some gear for work. I also attached my car/house keys to one so i know i will never lose them lol. will buy again.
I use this product on my keys as a key ring. Since they are more durable than the cheaply created ones that are for key rings, I don't have to lose my keys!
I use these to clip my keys to a beltloop. They're ridiculously over-engineered for this purpose, but work really well. No complaints after several weeks of everyday use.
Very amazing for the price but be aware that these are smaller than 'standard' size.
Had to have these for a repelling experience during an emergency preparedness course. I can attest they definitely held my weight.
