    Hate to Love You []  2020-1-18 21:11

The first 70% of the book was a beautiful decent 3.5-4 stars, but after that it just on and with no true purpose imo. I'm a fan of this author and I reread scenes from some of her books over and over, but there was a true disconnect for me with this book. I wasn't a fan of Kennedy at all. There were times when she felt like such a narcissist. She created all these decisions because if people "knew" they would either be jealous of her or wish to befriend her for it. Her described past didn't really warrant her extreme behavior. I wanted to just tell her to obtain over herself bc the globe didn't revolve around her and her day to day decisions. She couldn't even talk to her brother in public because, "what would people think?" Completely self-absorbed without a single thought of the feelings of those around her. Then there was Shay who didn't have a lot of depth, but on the surface he was a amazing guy and loyal. Despite the characters, I'm convinced Tijan can create you swoon over anyone's relationship and that's about the only thing that got me through this book.

Kennedy Clark was punished in high school over her brothers. Girls and guys used her, mistreated her, and betrayed her to obtain close to her brothers or to obtain back at them. She was deeply damage and built up tall walls to hold it from event again. When she got to college, she had a plan; hold who her brothers were hidden, fly under the radar, study hard, and NO DRAMA. Shay Coleman, star quarterback, BMOC, blew that plan out of the water. Kennedy caught his attention their first day of class. She hated him at first glance. However, by not encouraging him, flirting with him or sucbing to his charm; by being defensive, even rude, she kept his interest. Class kept throwing them together until the inevitable happened. Kennedy might hate him, but her body loves him. The two embark on a hidden affair until a horrible happening makes Shay lose control and go public. From that point on, the pair are an item, but there are still problems to be worked out and dangers to their nnedy was a bit too ly for me. I understood her hurt, and the desire to be recognized for herself and not as an extension of her brothers. Wasn't she intelligent and gorgeous herself? Wasn't she worthy of people trying to use others to obtain closer to her? I don't understand why she didn't have merits all on her own, why she required to be so isolated. I don't believe she required to be so harsh to everyone and she didn't need to deny her brothers. College is not high school. Her brothers are not the only amazing looking guys around! And I hope that we females aren't all so desperate that we are constantly trying to damage each other to obtain a cute guy's attention. Back to Kennedy, she could have chop off the users and still been nice to the general public. They kept talking about her gooey insides, all bark, no bite. I never saw the inner sweetness. And Shay was superficial. He existed more as a beautiful, y photo than someone with depth. No deep conversations until forced for this guy. Kennedy didn't trust people out of fear, Shay didn't see the need to obtain close enough to even need trust. The side characters were not much better. I did love Linde, but the girls were only partially developed and Gage was a not good brother/guy at ere were a few parts I loved; Kennedy's humor when she allow her guard down, when Shay called Kennedy - Clarke, the notecard scene, Shay's reaction at the hospital, almost every interaction with Linde, Kennedy's mother. Her mother was hysterically original! There were a few things I didn't like. Kennedy's temper and violent streak seemed overblown. A two week concussion, then all better? Doubtful with what happened. Missy, friend, and cousin. Sabrina's lingering feelings. And I didn't like the ending. When Shay couldn't be reached and didn't return calls, I assumed he was with Sabrina. That felt like it was building into something that would need to be addressed. I felt uneasy with how the stage went. I need all concerns laid to rest.I did have fun this book, but found it predictable. I did have the usual moments of angst that I feel with all Tijan books, but was also a small disappointed. There was small originality. This one shared a lot of of the same charateristics of her other books. Tijan fans will love it and I did like it, but hoped for more.

This book really hit the spot for me. College romances are one of my favorite genres and it's been awhile since I've read a amazing one. This book had some angst. If you love opponents to lovers genre of books, then this will be for you. There is so much to this story that gets revealed at a really amazing pace and I didn't lose interest at all. There are so a lot of interesting characters in this book besides the main ones. I will tell you this. You will fall in love with Shay Coleman. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. Kennedy is a no BS kind of heroine and I found her completely refreshing. She's not one to pull punches or take crap from anyone. And these two together are amazing!

This book started out so amazing ... until the 60% ish mark. Honestly, should've ended there. Then things just got drawn out and WEIRD. Also, the more irritated I got the more I decided I didn't actually like any of it at all. For starters, Kennedy is rude and a B to everyone for NO reason. Everyone kisses her butt too for some reason. There is so reason any girl who acts like her should've or could've landed the most famous guy on campus even if she looks like Nina Dobrev. Sorry, no. She attacks a male student (verbally until he stalks toward her and then it becomes physical on her end on the basis that he COULD have hit her) this is completely brushed off and honestly, if a male student had done what she had to a female student he would've been in jail. Just because Kennedy is a girl doesn't excuse it. Then, she later punches a guy at a party for NO REASON simply because he passed a guy a cup at a DIFFERENT part that the other guy place a date rape in. Like .... this guy had NOTHING to do with that. Honestly, Kennedy is psychotic and I just can't approve of this book at all. It's a Simon Cowell NO FROM ME.

Holy crap Tijan has done it again! If you are looking for an angsty fresh adult read, pick up Hate To Love You today! This book had me hooked from beginning to end! From the moment I saw the cover and read the blurb of this book I knew I required to read it, and I would have one-clicked it, even if it was it wasn't by Tijan, who I read anything by. Shay and Kennedy's story is an absolute must nnedy is a hero that you will wish to love and hate from the moment you meet her. She's rough around the edges, but as you obtain to know her and more about her past you'll understand why she is the method she is, and will come to love her more and more. She only lets a few people in, and when she lets you in, she is very protective of those people. So when Shay comes barging into her life, she is not satisfied about it. He's everything she said she would stay away from, and she immediately hates him, but Shay has a method of breaking down her walls and I loved everything about it. With the support of Linde, Shay is able to support break Kennedy down more and more. Linde is a safe mate for Kennedy, but there is an attraction between Shay and Kennedy that even though she wants to hate him, she can't seem to stay away from him. When things begin to heat up between them, I loved how she said they couldn't talk about it, because you knew that Shay wanted to broadcast it out there, but Kennedy wasn't having any of it, and my heart actually damage for Shay for how she treated him at times. She took her past hurts out on him which wasn't fair to Shay, but he more than created up for all the pain that Kennedy had been t only do we see Kennedy go through A LOT with Shay but we also see her search a amazing group of friends, some that you may not have expected her to be mates with in the beginning of this book when you first meet them. When one of the girls goes through something horrific, how Kennedy deals with it and how she was there for her was attractive and really showed what type of person Kennedy was, and really strengthened the bond that some of these girls had. When Kennedy also went through something traumatic as well, seeing how Shay and others reacted to it and how they were there for her was awesome and really showed that you don't need a large group of people to be in your mate circle, but the ones who really care, those are the ones that matter, and will do anything for you. The help she received and the love that they showed her was amazing. When she finally came out of hiding the reaction she got brought tears to my is was a beautifully written love story, but also a story of self discovery and friendship. I loved watching Kennedy grow throughout this book, and seeing the friendships form. Shay and Kennedy are excellent for one another and I loved watching them go from Hate, to tolerate, to like, to love. It was a long journey for them, with a lot of bumps and bruises along the way, but in the end, it was a excellent story. I fell in love with them and all of the characters. I really didn't wish to say goodbye to them or the secondary characters in this book and I can only hope we can see Casey, Kristina, Linde and others in future books by Tijan one day. If you are looking for an angsty book to dive into that's full of laughs, tears, and steam, I highly suggest one-licking Hate To Love You by Tijan today!

The timing for the release of Hate To Love You by Tijan is excellent with all the college students heading back to campus to begin another fresh year.  Whether they are freshman or upper classmen, they are embarking on another exciting year that will become part of their life nnedy Clarke is starting her freshman year at Dulane University.  She is starting school with very high expectations and well thought out strategic list to ensure her success in college.  Her list is very specific and outlined in direct detail.  Her reasonings are valid after her negative experiences in high school.  She is a girl with goals that she intends to rst on the list is NO HOT GUYS.  A bit unrealistic considering the campus is full of them, which contains her older brother Gage. 3.5Gah! This book had such promise. The title, the blurb, the cover, the author but it just fell short. I kept waiting for the connection to the story and or characters to happen but it just never e writing was confusing at times, mostly toward the beginning. The transition into dialogue and who was speaking and or the point of the thought/conversation were muddled. All things I could overlook with a amazing story. The characters were going through the motions , but to what? What was the point? There seemed to be lack of purpose and the writing seemed stalled. Was this a book about trust? A book about moving forward? A book about overcoming fear -physical or emotional? All of the above? Instead of the characters being developed things happened to them. Even the hate pretense was weak , the author had to explain it several times throughout the people use you for who you are and or who you know? Are you treated differently when they search out who you are ? Yes and yes but for me this premise alone wasn't powerful enough to carry a story. The love story would've been stronger if we'd had more hero development. It almost seemed like the story became like Groundhog Day - wash, rinse, repeat. Why such a harsh review for a 3-3.5 rating? There's nothing that equates to the emotional disappointment when reading a book with such promise, by a beloved and talented author, a highly anticipated book to only have the story fall flat.Tijan, even when it's not her best work , always provides an entertaining read

    Hate to Love You []  2020-1-18 21:11

Not ignoring the fact that I'm a sports-related romance addict, with the begin of a fresh school year and football season right around the corner, plus a cover aimed at enticing readers, created this temptation a sure bet that I would be using the Amazon one-click button sooner rather than later!#1 No hot guys.#2 No drama.#3 Fresh year. Fresh place. Fresh unds like a solid plan, right? You begin out with the best of intentions -- then the unexpected happens. And even those best-laid plans of mice and men often go e enemies-to-lovers theme is very popular, and has shown up time and again on college campuses in more books I've read through the years than I can recall. But here, the author took charge and owned it as her own, giving it a bit of a fresh face and a various feel with an element of suspense. Believe me, Tijan indeed gives it her own private spin and makes it work. The fact that she's a new-to-me author may have played a little part in my reaction to it this time around. But it could be that she just wowed me with her take on it, too. Let's just say that I scored far more from this reading experience than I ese may be college-age characters, but they bring with them serious issues and true life issues. Don’t bet on anything because you'll search there are some huge surprises heading your way. I don’t think this author followed any map because she makes some detours down the less trodden pathways before you reach the end. I hungrily gobbled up every drop of angst, drama, romance and suspense along the though my preference is most always for both main characters to show their points of view, Kennedy Clarke gets the single honor this time around. Anyway, my resistance was low (as I may have mentioned above), and I went for it. And I liked it -- I really, really liked it! But I might haveREALLY LOVED IT with Shay Coleman's voice added to the mix."That isn’t playing fair." His grin widened. His lips met mine, and he whispered versus them,“I don’t play fair. Ever. You should know that about me.”Kennedy is a compelling female protagonist with some huge trust issues. A beautiful but fiery small character. The relationship between Kennedy and her two brothers -- one a celebrity -- adds another level of interest to her history, too. With her force field in put to protect herself and, in turn, fending off up close and private relationships, Kennedy remains somewhat of an enigmatic personality. Her frequent soliloquies became a bit tiresome at times -- annoyingly so. But she's not quite prepared for the likes of Shay Coleman. She tries her best to hate him. It's really quite ugly. But test as she might, she can't shake loose from those feelings he stirs inside her. Kennedy can best be described as a mixed bag. And she's definitely not immune to Mr. Popular. But it is Shay Coleman who steals the show. He is tantalizingly appealing and a stupendous male protagonist -- so much more than you tend to expect from star quarterbacks or campus heartthrobs with smirky grins and y attitudes. Oh, he's all that, too -- but down deep, he's an all-around amazing guy -- the total package! Not your average Joe Jock. He's personable and everyone is drawn to him. Of course, he's hot items and, with the snap of his fingers, he can have his choice of campus divas. But Shay has his eye on only one female -- and she's stubborn and unwilling. He's no quitter though, and he stands steadfast in his pursuit. He's withholding a few secrets of his own, and his private life is exactly that -- private and private. But he's also genuine, loyal and trustworthy. I swear I adored this guy!The enemies-to-lovers phase is but a blink of the eye, and then the relationship quickly moves on to the next level. Seemingly a small more mature and balanced than your average college student, these two have both navigated painful history, yet survived. And even with a rocky start, their opposites attract match-up is perfect. The sparks, banter, push and pull, feel-goods, angst, drama, lies and romance -- you'll search them all.A full house of diverse secondary characters effectually rounds out the cast. Each brings their own uniqueness, but never overshadowing the leads. You'll be surprised to search that Kennedy's mom is quite a ball of hilarious entertainment. Some of these characters may even be shouting for a story of their e suspense gets revved up with a dark turning point when problem arrives on campus involving some tough and sensitive problems to work through. I didn't see this coming until it struck. Kennedy becomes a target when she steps forward to defend another student. And before this author releases you from the grip she's holding on you, there'll be plenty of questions, accusations, chills, s, and thrills -- and even a few sniffles, or there were for me anyway. Unlike high school, this time around, Shay stands by her side lending help through it e authenticity Tijan portrays in her characters, the info in bringing the college campus to life, and the integration of the bonds of family and friendships altogether create a gift-wrapped pack of intensely delectable and fun reading. I've read more than a few reviews on other books by Tijan. A lot of refer to the sorcery that is special to her writing. With glimmers of what seems to create her so popular, I may have just experienced it for myself. I'm going to check out some of her backlist to see if I can search a small more of that magic. If this book is any indication of what is to follow, I think I might be a real believer.HATE to LOVE YOU by Tijan is a standalone, college romance novel that contains a well-balanced mix of college drama, sports-related romance and an extraordinary cast of characters woven together making it my kind of story. In my opinion, the book ended rather abruptly. That unexpected Hail Mary pass at the very end was out of bounds and totally confusing. I was somewhat disappointed that the Epilogue wasn't a small more forthcoming to end this book on a more complete and satisfactory note. Still, I found it to be a chop far above most and a delight to read. I recommend for those who have fun YA romance.

Kennedy and Shay. OMG, these two were so dynamic together. The story drew me in from page one and I seriously did not place this book down for 24 hours. I can’t believe that it took me this long to obtain to reading this book. It seriously is one of my favorite Tijan books and I love me some Tijan ere is so much going on between the two main characters that you have to wonder where it can go if there is so much hate between them....even if it’s only one sided. Well, the story blew me out of the water because I could not imagined everything that I read coming to fruition on the page. I was right there with Kennedy throughout her journey. I was there when she stumbled, when she triumphed, when she doubted....I was her or I wished that I was her because she has a strength that is unparalleled only to a few. Seriously one of my favorite heroines in Tijan’s books. And don’t obtain me started on Shay Coleman. Man if I had been in college with a guy like this....it would have been heaven. Who could possibly imagine that the begin quarterback at the university could more perfect. Obviously he was excellent in his looks, but to be excellent on the inside. Excellent for Kennedy, excellent for bringing out the side of her that was soft and required love. Excellent in the sense that he was all in even before he could even fathom having those thoughts. I need a Shay Coleman in my life and in my relationship. I wish him to be there for me just like he was for Kennedy.Tijan strikes again with her brilliance and realism. She brings the love, but definitely brings the pain. She is a master at drawing you in breaking you into a million pieces and then bringing you back in the most magnificent method possible! My cup runneth over with how in love with this book I am.

Kennedy was a fun hero to read about in this story. She's strong, feisty, even somewhat combative, thanks to the not-so-awesome experience she had living through high school. She wants to just hold her head down and focus on her studies in college, but that plan gets derailed once Shay walks into her life/class/project team. Shay's role as the star quarterback makes him a natural leader. And while he's used to being protected on the field, he's a stead-fast protector in life. Kennedy's brother, Gage, asks Shay to hold an eye on his small sister, and Shay's not one to not deliver on a e ebb and flow of this story truly kept me hooked. I felt the extra obstacle at the end of the story was a bit more than important - it didn't seem to lead to extra resolution between the characters - so that's the only reason this story isn't 5 full stars but 4.25 for me instead.

I am on a roll today apparently of writing reviews for books I DNFed and / or didn’t like, so let’s tackle another one, shall we? :) I did not have huge expectations going into this one.. I’ve read some mixed reviews about it before I even started it, so I thought I was prepared… as it turns out, nope, I was not prepared at all… I finally gave up at 44% because of sooooo a lot of reasons… I listened to the audiobook, and the phenomenal narrator is probably the main reason why I stayed with this story so long… because the actual insides of the book… yikes… Kennedy, our heroine was awful… most of the time she was judgemental, rude and mean… I’m not sure what exactly happened to her in high school, cause at this point we didn’t obtain like a full explanation, but her actions did seem exaggerated… then we have Shay, the hero… *sighs* it’s hard to say too much about him, because the whole book is from Kennedy’s perspective and we see him like she sees him… we can’t see what he thinks and why he acts a certain way, and that makes it that much harder to actually understand him… their “romance” is nonexistent… he acts like a jerk, or so we think, but again, because we see him through only Kennedy’s eyes I don’t know how reliable that opinion actually is… and then they hook up, like one radom afternoon… *eye roll* and I mean, I knew I did not expect anything super serious from this story, but I wanted to at least obtain some more meaningful interactions between our main couple… I already forgot why I gave up at this exact moment, was it one particular stage or just a ulation of feelings, but I just had enough… I’ve heard about this author before, so I am willing to test one of her other books in the future, cause maybe it was just that this particular one wasn't to my taste… as always, I encourage you to read up some other reviews before making up your own mind about maybe giving this story a try, cause a lot of people seem to really love it :)

    Hate to Love You []  2020-1-18 21:11

Lately I been disappointed by tijan writing that I been debating to buy her books. Before buying this book I felt compelled to read the inside book free chapters, and then decided to give a try. However, this book was better then the latest few. I been reading most of tijan books fallen crest series, Logan, carter series, sustained, jaded series, anti-stepbrother, broken and screwed series and so on...... I been very disappointed with some of her writing. I liked better this book and it showed better her writing skilled. I just hoped that the book would not finish abruptly. I did not like the end, it did not read as an end of the story just that the author stopped writing. I liked the two main characters however Kennedy would act as childish most of the time. I mean high schooler behavior is totally various then collage and most of the time collage student are too busy to be interested in other people personal life or who they know. I understand Kennedy list to not obtain involved with student drama prioritizing her studies. I also liked her reasoning not to be used as Casey attempted, as a back up plan. I really did not like her brother who forgets that he has a sisters and leaves her alone drinking with a crowed that she is not familiar, who does that! I liked the originality of her mom hero it was crazy funny. I believe that the secondary characters were not developed well in the story and the built of these characters were left flat. Most of the time I had the impression while reading that there was a story behind each characters and the author on propose left it unfinished, underdeveloped characters. Shay most of the time I did not know his point of view, except the obvious attraction that he felt towards Kennedy. However there was no surprise scenes and some were predictable. Both main characters stage were obvious and with a predictable chemistry. At times I had the impression that the two main characters would break up and the story would take a various direction. I believe the author had a change of heart and decided to move forward with the relationship. The author played a lot around Kennedy’s insecurities.Everything happened to Kennedy at college, being attacked and verbally abused. Even if Kennedy attempted to stay away from college drama she ended being the center of said drama. I gave 4 stars because finally the author is back to her writing skills although could have been a better book with more effort. I hope she keeps up with her writing getting better each time.

Because You Love to Hate Me: 13 Tales of Villainy []  2020-9-24 20:3

I would rate each story separately because I love them all for various reasons but that would take forever so I'll just name a few of my favorites. First of all, I love and adore villains. I've never connected with heroes of stories, I'm not excellent and I know myself well enough that if I ever received a superpower I wouldn't be the one stopping bank robbers with it. I mean realistically how a lot of of us would? I've always secretly rooted and understood where villains stand just a small bit more. I mean in Harry Potter when voldy says hey give me Potter and no battle needs to happen, who else didn't think this is an simple fix. I mean all these people died and he still went out into the woods anyways, why did they have to die?!? Story, I know, but realistically. Also I'm not saying I'd sacrifice one for the a lot of but weigh your options I guess. Now don't go thinking I'm a horrible person, just average who knows herself well enough to have self identified as a Slytherin from the very first time I read the first book. Not all Slytherins are evil but ambition has the ability to be corrupted. So I know my flaws and work with them not versus them. Anyways, too much about me and not enough about why I love this book. I love villains. I'm not saying I wish them to win. I'm not Barney from How I Met Your Mother, here. I just obtain it. So an anthology retelling of all these stories I knew it would be heaven for my eyes because their plights create sense. Now some of my favorites were "The Blessing of Small Wants" by Sarah Enni, "Death Knell" by V.E. Schwab, "Julian Breaks Every Rule" by Andrew Smith, and "Sera" by Nicola Yoon. Each had a special villain with a twist and Julian was just plain funny. I laughed the majority of the story and at the end was like WHAT!?! So it was a delight. Now my absolute favorite that tore my heart out was "Beautiful Venom my Cindy Pon, it was a medusa retelling in China medusa being Mei Du... It broke my heart and all the feels I could ever have. I actually cried. It's literally filled with social commentary on rape cultural and how victims obtain treated past, present, and future though I have hope. If you pick this book up I'd suggest just skipping straight to this story. The others are unbelievable and I don't discount them in any method but this one hit me and touched me and I just... I feel so close to Mei Du, I wanted to hug her before and after as a villain. She deserved so much more than what she got and just... I don't know how to tell you to go read it anymore than I already have but if I can only spread it this method I will. I will forever love this story and so I'll forever love this book.

Accidental Hubby Next Door (Hate to Love You Book 4) []  2020-9-12 18:32

The storyline was amazing and the resolution was good, too. But, how a lot of times can a amazing man be rejected before you say, “Forget about it!” He persisted and they finally got together again. People can change and he demonstrated he had, time after time. Her response, “You left me and I’m still suffering from it!” The huge split happened when she was 20 and he was 21. He didn’t wish children because his father had been horribly abusive and he was scared he might react the same way. She wanted kids. Over the course of five years, he got to know himself and knew that he had been wrong. He wanted kids with her. Sylvie, she of little fingers and little hands, was too scared he would change his mind again. After sleeping with him several times, she still “loved” him but kept rejecting Ruker time after eye rolling time! I want I could swat her on the head a couple of times. If they had found happiness without all the damn rejections, it would have been a better book. The book was fairly well written except for the above. I like Ms. Hart’s stories and will continue to read her books.

Hate to Love You: Strong Brothers Book 4 []  2021-4-6 22:1

Titillating more than outright steamy because it took them so long to give in to their desires but once they did! Andi Walker has worked as the Powerful Inc owner’s Assistant from internship to the present. As Margaret Powerful looks forward to retirement, Andi is wondering what her part in the company will be. Three of her four grandsons work in executive positions and they all have their own Assistant. Except Noah, the motorcycle-riding, non-conformist poor boy Strong. Andi and Noah are constantly bickering. They each have fun their banter but could it mean something more? They think they hate each other. Hmmm…When someone hacks into the Powerful Inc computer system and messes up their logistics operation, what can they do? They call on Noah, the computer whiz to check it out giving Noah his first true opportunity to present his worth. But there are outside/inside forces working versus them. When Noah finds out who it is, what will he do? There were quite a few OMG moments: her dream on the plane, their first kiss in the limo, their first time, their meet-cute and in the elevator! Ms. Williams can truly write some provocative situations. The ending was downright thrilling but also only issue with this book has nothing to do with the plot, but rather the editing. There were wrong tenses, missing words, wrong pronouns, added words and misspelled words such as were for we’re. Fix these problems and you’ll have a first-rate book. Btw, I read from the published edition. I volunteered to review an ARC through Booksprout and give it 3.25 stars.

I would've given it a 4 or even a 5 star. But this booke required proof reading. The Grammer and the typos were really bad. The story line itself was great. I think out of all the brothers Noah's story is my favorite. Andi and Noah had a realistic love story. Again my largest problem with this book was the grammar and typos. I would recommend this book if you can look past the typos.

Not even taking into consideration his feelings. He was 20 years old and didn’t wish kids, so he left so she could be happy. Five years later she just seems like a selfish person and has no issue with playing back n forth with his feelings. Hate to Love You: Strong Brothers Book 4 []  2021-4-6 22:1

HATE TO LOVE YOU is the fourth and final book in the STRONG BROTHERS series and it definitely left me wanting more. I would love to reunite with the characters in a holiday novella (hint, hint) to catch up on all of their lives. This is Noah and Andi's story. He's the youngest Powerful brother but doesn't have any interest in joining the family business. She's his grandmother's assistant and his grandmother is a powerful woman who runs the company but is ready to retire. The story is told by Noah and Andi in alternating chapters which was sometimes confusing. I loved the interactions between the characters and how we've caught up on their lives since their stories were ah and Andi do a lot of arguing and bickering every time their paths cross but is there more going on than even they know? When they are thrown together to work on a project at his grandmother's request they head off to Hong Kong. Their feelings sometimes obtain the better of them and with communication not their powerful suit they aren't always on the same page. There are hot between the sheets moments as well as other locations too - a lot of of them inappropriate. There's some laughter mixed in with the arguments but their focus needs to be on the company and solving the issue they've encountered. With a lot of tech items thrown in and twists and turns to the story, my interest was held from the first page to the last. A fast paced read that has a happily ever after in the offing but ended too abruptly for me even with the Williams is an author whose books I'm enjoying and while the often takes me out of my comfort location I love how her stories unfold. I look forward to reading whatever she pens next.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Accidental Hubby Next Door (Hate to Love You Book 4) []  2020-9-12 18:32

It was ok, the story was well place together but I found this story a small annoying. The story was to much repetitive back and forth with no true meat. Yes, they once loved each other really hard and broke up because Ryker didn’t wish children. Then years later returns back with a change of heart. He wants her and she is still suffering about the past. That is where the rubber banding comes in. The relationship reminds me of a poor high school romance. I won’t go into detail, because it all the book is really about. The is no romance just glances of the past and no true connection. As for Ryker I have to say he was one of the most annoying characters I have read. The humor wasn’t funny but irritating, he wasn’t funny it just came like was so immature. It’s like he a teenager I mean how a lot of times does he say “ Sly allow me just present you one thing. “ I don’t know it was a ok story but there were something that either annoyed me or just didn’t connect.

Because You Love to Hate Me: 13 Tales of Villainy []  2020-9-24 20:3

This anthology is deliciously villainous. I enjoyed every one of the thirteen stories that comprised BECAUSE YOU LOVE TO HATE ME, though Victoria Schwab's "Death Knell" was probably the best of the lot with its gorgeous prose and twisty plot. If you are a lover of short stories and anthologies, this is certainly one not to miss.

Hate to Love You: Strong Brothers Book 4 []  2021-4-6 22:1

Hate to Love You is a fabulous read. It stars Andi, private assistant to Margaret the matriarch of the Powerful family, and Noah, the youngest of four Powerful brothers. Andi had a huge crush on Noah and had had ever since she met him three years ago. Noah had related feelings for Andi. The previous books are about how the other brothers met and fell in love. You catch up with all the delightful characters from these previous stories, which is a nice detail to me. In this book, there is a terrific mystery, lots of romance, and an on and off relationship between Andi and Noah. I really enjoyed this story reading it cover to cover in one sitting.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Andi is the PA for, Margaret, the head of the Powerful family. Andi and Noah spend some much time bickering but it actually adds to the tension between them and makes for an amazing read. When both a needed to travel to address a business problem for the company it heats things up between them. All the characters are unbelievable and interact in such interesting ways in this book plus the reat of the series. I just love the Powerful family dynamic.

Accidental Hubby Next Door (Hate to Love You Book 4) []  2020-9-12 18:32

Accidental Hubby Next Door is the fourth book in the Hate to Love You series and is the story of Sylvie and Ryker. This is a sort of second possibility romance story as he wants a second possibility with her. The only problem is that she is not letting him have it, even though she keeps sleeping with him. It all stems from them breaking up five years ago because she wanted to have kids and he did not. Now granted he had a amazing reason as he was afraid he would end up being like his abusive daddy. Plus they are both really young at the time, her twenty and him twenty-one. Over the latest five years he has grown up more and figures some things out about himself. That contains the fact that he does wish kids and with her.I liked the story-line of this book a lot and I also really loved Ryker. He is a young man who was afraid, and for amazing reason and with enough self awareness to be from my POV. Sylvie was too self centered for my tastes. I just kept wanting to yell at her and tell her to obtain over herself and grow the heck up. So on several levels this book worked for me but I had a hard time liking her character. In the end I just wanted to tell Ryker to move on and search someone who would appreciate him more and love him for himself.I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

So a lot of of my favorite authors have pieces in this book, and so I was very excited to read it. The short stories in this book are absolutely fabulous and can change the method you see certain popular villains, and all the bit about it being brought about from prompts is really cool as well. However, I HATED the pieces by the booktubers or whoever they were. Their commentary on the short stories were all so annoying and boring that it took me far longer to read this book than it should have because I just did not wish to read them. I did not search them interesting or charming or informational, just boring and obnoxious and pointless. If this book did not have those pieces I likely would have given it 5 stars.

Because You Love to Hate Me: 13 Tales of Villainy []  2020-9-24 20:3

I liked only four storiesI liked only four stories. FOUR FREAKING STORIES. Honestly, it baffles me that most of the stories were written in the most childish and unappealing method EVER, and that most of them started with the hero being good. It just created the stories boring and laughable, in my opinion. Why waste your time with making the characters good? Begin with them being evil and develop them like that.I was incredibly offended by the method Shannon did her story, in terms of storytelling. IF THE FAE KIDNAPPED CHILDREN MAKE A VILLAINOUS TALE ABOUT THEM BEING LIKE THAT, THAT IS FAR MORE ENJOYABLE THAN READING ABOUT HOW THEY "SAVE CHILDREN THAT ACTUALLY ARE JUST HURT"Thank you, Ahdieh, Meyer, Pon and Schwab, for actually making this book a small more depth:Ahdieh wrote a hero that was already a small bit villainous and then turned into a real villain over the course of the story, it was fascinating to yer managed to write a hero that didn't know they were doing anything wrong and still create them dislikable. The plottwist with the betrayal created me genuinely surpised and I love what Meyer did with it. I found myself surpised, because I really haven't liked anything else Meyer has written, but amazing job Meyer.Pon wrote a attractive story that actually created you sympathise with the villain while still acknowledging that they are a villain. Dragging two various cultures together to make a fresh story is a very bold and attractive move. Pon's writing is also hwab's story was just plain amazing, with a interesting twist around every corner. A lovely read

RS Grey is the master at sweet y stories. Marin and Nicholas 'a story is pleasantly massive on the sweet with a side of y. Very endearing characters in this one set beautifully in Newport, Rhode Island. And like so a lot of of Grey's locations, I'll have to add Newport to my locations to visit .

When life deals you a crap hand time after time it's simple to think that's all you deserve. Life has dealt Maren Mitchell a crap hand and she's come to expect life is hard and will only obtain harder. She's wary of people (with amazing reason) and she thinks it's only a matter of time until something goes wrong and she's back to square e's 23, lives in a group home for at risk adults and works in a dead end job. But she loves the gentle souls she cares for, even if her coworkers create her life hell. A possibility meeting with Cornelia Cornwell is about to change her rnelia sees something in her, method deep below the layers that Maren wraps around herself. She invites her to be her companion at her estate. Is this a dream that Maren is going to awaken from? But this dream has a bit of a villain-Cornelia's grandson Nicholas cholas takes an immediate dislike to Maren-and she to him. But all that hatred might just be covering up for some unwelcomed chemistry. Forced to be in each other's orbit, things are slowly changing. Do they really hate each other? I love the dual POV. I love when a story gives us insight into the male's thoughts and feelings. Nicholas feelings and descriptions of his thoughts about Maren surprised me. He is very complex and his hero has a lot more richness to him than I gave him credit for-I liked being wrong.I almost think the romance is a subplot in this book. The main story being about Maren and her private growth. That metamorphosis is mostly due to Cornelia Cornwell. What a unbelievable asset she is to the plot. She is wise and has the respect and backing of society and yet she never takes advantage of her social position or allows it to control her. She is such a guiding force for Maren. It's as if all the poor things that Maren has endured happened to place her in a certain position and time in her life so she could be begin to all the amazing that Cornelia offers. Two women, one poor, one rich, one young, one old, one lacking self esteem, one comfortable in her put in the world-you couldn't search two more various women and yet they bring something special and irreplaceable to one n't expect to read one of RS Grey's usual stories. This one is more massive and serious than most of her others. I wasn't expecting that, and yet I came to really have fun this unexpected treat.

Love the One You Hate is another amazing read from R. S. Grey!I adored Maren so much! As is probably obvious from the title, this is an opponents to lovers romance. Maren has had a rough go at life, but she's given a possibility to work at an estate/mansion and despite it feeling too amazing to be true, Maren certainly gives it her all. I loved that about her, that she was a kind and helpful character, but was confident in her decisions. She never allow anyone cow her or intimidate her into changing her mind. And ohhhh boy, does Nicholas really try her on this. He's the grandson of the woman she's working for and his devotion and loyalty to his family was so heartwarming, though I wanted to smack him a small when it came at Maren's expense. I thought both Maren and Nicholas showed a lot of growth throughout the book. Their banter was unbelievable and I laughed and swooned so much reading this book. If you have fun romcoms, I definitely recommend!

Love the One You Hate []  2020-5-6 18:0

Accustomed to this author’s lighthearted writing style in other books I’ve read, this book surprised and enchanted me with its angst. Although there are parts where the characters behave in a teasing and lighthearted manner, the prevalent theme was a small sad mixed with a small hopeful feeling. There were parts that brought me to tears with the bittersweet feelings of the female character, Maren. She was quiet, unassuming, very seldom angry, and with a reserved dignity. I found her lovely! We won’t search out until later why Maren was so down in the world. We see her attributes so soon, and yet we wonder why she’s doing menial jobs in an elder adults home. She lives in a group home for former foster kids who have criminal records, and she seems so downtrodden. Whenever she’s tired of her lot in life, she remembers that as a foster child, she is always watched with suspicion. At the moment, she is being accused of stealing a ring from one of the residents, pending investigation.“I have an overwhelming fear that I will always be painted by a stained brush, that no matter how I dress or talk or smile or spritz on perfume to cover the scent of the mold in the group home, there’s no denying that I’m Maren Mitchell—less than.”In spite of her current station, she’s helpful and considerate, always willing to give a hand in help. When her favorite resident receives a visit from a very regal lady, she’s very satisfied to entertain them by playing the piano. And here is another incongruence, Maren is a classically trained piano player. How come? More intrigues!“In my head, I refer to her as the queen because she reminds me so much of the old monarchs I’ve read about in novels. Stately and beautiful, but sharp too, like a finely chop gem.”Mrs. Cromwell offers Maren a job with her and since Maren feels she will be jobless soon, she accepts. Then she’s taken to a mansion in Bellevue Avenue in Newport, RI, where the real rich people of the nation live. Unaccustomed to so much luxury, Maren tries to adapt and create herself useful to her fresh boss. And here is where this author’s writing shows its brilliance! She paints such a attractive character! Instead of resenting Mrs. Cromwells’s wealth or getting spoiled by the treatment she receives, she strives constantly to help. She tries to help the staff and the cook and her efforts are rebuffed, she tries to serve her boss and she’s very kindly told that her job is to be a companion. In spite of all that, she quietly goes around her way, making herself useful in small ways, cutting up flowers and making arrangements, offering to walk to city and obtain groceries for the cook, playing the piano for anyone who cares to listen, reading to Mrs. Cromwell. Small by small she gains the acceptance and affection of the entire household, except for one glaring exception: Mrs. Cromwell’s grandson cholas is wary of strangers in his grandmother’s home because they have had issues with thieves, intruders, con artists who wish to take advantage of his grandmother’s generosity and kindness. He feels it’s his duty to protect her from all these dangers, so he investigates Maren’s past and finds it worrying. He makes clear he wants Maren to go, but is met with his grandmother’s and Maren’s unwillingness to comply. So, he decides to watch her like a hawk and then it’s his turn to be enchanted, just like I was, Mrs. Cromwell was, and the entire household were.I loved that they begin as opponents but with an wonderful attraction to each other. They feel this pull in spite of not wanting to, and they watch each other in spite of their misgivings. They’re a hoot to watch because they zone out with their fantasies and are brought to reality by the people around. Everyone sees them making googly eyes at each other but they fervently deny so. We are then treated to a lovely love story of this couple who are ly at first, then pining for each other, reluctant but enthralled. There are secondary characters that add a lot of spice and color to the story, with little side plots that are thankfully closed. Then there’s Mrs. Cornelia Cromwell. She is such a stately and regal lady, with a golden heart underneath. Whenever Maren questions her put in Mrs. Cromwell’s world, she plainly says that she fell in love with her and she is now a dear person in her world. So much generosity and kindness of soul!I loved reading this book, enthralled from begin to finish. I loved every sentence and every paragraph, and a lot of times had tears in my eyes from the heartfelt feelings expressed. This is a book to rejoice and remember, and maybe re-read a lot of times. The quiet enjoyment I found reading it, and the comforting I got from Maren’s goodness are a joy to savor.

With LOVE THE ONE YOU HATE, R.S. Grey does it again with a sizzling, unputdownable enemies-to-lovers e story brims with emotion, tension and chemistry, all woven together thoughtfully in Grey’s signature style. We meet Maren Mitchell, who grew up in foster care and struggles to create ends meet while working at a nursing home. There she collides with the elegant Cornelia, who offers her a less-than-typical job at her estate. Before she knows it, Maren is swept into a gilded life completely unfamiliar—lush gardens, brand-name clothes, social happenings with the elite, gowns and trips and household staff. Unsettled already, her insecurities roar inside, created worse by Cornelia’s striking grandson who is hell-bent on driving her out.“I don’t know him, but he’s staring at me like he knows me. Like he hates me.”Nicholas Hunt holds nothing back when it comes to his grandmother, and that contains the fresh girl who is taking advantage of her generosity. But the more he knows her, the more confused he is by her, by her intentions. Hateful words are slung across the dinner table, in quiet corners hidden from prying eyes. Before too long, however, animosity morphs into something else entirely, both drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. But when Maren’s past re-surfaces, will she fall back into a life she knows? Or will Nicholas take the opportunity to rid their lives of her once and for all?Page after page I was rapt by a story that felt like a modern fairy tale. And while I loved the romance with all its delicious volatility, it was the relationship between Maren and Cornelia that shone brightly. There was a warmth, a realness that created their connection palpable—a profoundness that drew you in from the very beginning.A compelling story about the families you forge and one of my favorites from R.S. Grey.

Gosh this book was adorable. I fell in love with the characters and story so quickly. Every one of R.S. Grey's books gets better with each fresh story. They are all so original and unlike any other books I've read that you can't support but fall in love with each fresh rnelia was my favorite hero from this story, I loved how she had respect from everyone around her, she could have easily be written as a hero we were meant to hate, but instead she was written to fall in love with. While she was a part of society filled with tradition and rules, she found the middle ground between change and religion in the excellent way. I loved her reasoning for taking Maren in and how she pushed Maren to obtain everything she deserves in life.I think my favorite part of Maren's story was that she never seemed to have tk change who she was to fit in with everyone no matter where she was. And while she didn't think she fit in with anyone, she fit in where ever she went because she was one of those people you couldn't support but not like. Maren and Nicholas were great, I love R.S. Grey's enemies-to-lovers books, this one was various but still so so good. I loved their scenes, I got a very Pride and Prejudice vibe from them and I lived for it! As they got closer together, their scenes were adorable and hot and man I want there was more to their story.

I went into this book completely blind, but I love anything R.S. Grey writes and this one was not a disappointment and is hands down my favorite book from her to date. If you’re an opponents to lovers fan this is definitely one you’ll wish to add to read!Maren hasn’t had an simple life. Growing up in foster care, then moving to a group home isn’t easy. She didn’t have her dream of going to college and had to work hard for everything she has in her life. Then a mysterious opportunity comes from Cornelia Cromwell. I loved their relationship. Cornelia was like a fairy godmother and grandmother to her all in one. She instantly loved Maren like she was one of her own and took her under her wings. Nicholas, is Cornelia’s grandson, and he wants to create sure that no one is taking advantage of his grandmother, so Maren is an instant red flag to him. He instantly dislikes her, but there is something about her that draws him in, that he can’t stay away from.I loved the banter between Maren and Nicholas. I loved the chemistry. The slow burn of their relationship, watching it go from hate to so much more as the story progressed. Despite, Nicholas coming across as a major jerk in the beginning, I obtain it because he just was looking out for her grandmother, but he relaxes some and you can’t support but love him.If you’re looking for a amazing slow burn opponents to lovers romance that will have you laughing, crying and swooning Love the One You Hate is a MUST READ!

R.S. Grey, I don’t know how she does it but she has made these unbelievable characters. Real to the title I really did love Nicholas, for as much as I hated him and his snobbery, I still loved his hero and development. Maren is such a attractive hero to watch blossom. She goes from this shy woman with no sense of self worth to confident woman who is willing to take risks to obtain what she wants. All the while she stays real to herself and doesn’t turn into the entitled people she e true highlight beyond Maren’s transformation are the friendships she makes with Cordelia and Tori. It’s refreshing to see genuine women in friendship in a book and they aren’t just completely pushed aside when the love interest arrives. And oh my, that epilogue! The icing on the cake. So sweet, so emotional, so perfect. But I wish more. I don’t wish to leave Maren and Nicholas and Cordelia and Tori yet, they’re my fresh best friends. They just don’t know it yet.

R.S. Grey has done it again!! I fell totally, completely, absolutely head over heels for Nicholas and Maren. Love the One You Hate is definitely a favorite read of mine for 2020!Love the One You Hate follows the story of Maren and Nicholas. When we first meet up with Maren, she is down on her luck. She’s working a thankless job where she has been accused of things due to her past. Maren’s life has been anything but easy, but she doesn’t allow her past obtain her down and does the best that she can. Maren’s luck begins to change when she meets Cornelia. Cornelia has a proposition for Maren that seems too amazing to be true, but Maren would be stupid to turn down. As Maren spends time with Cornelia, she not only finds happiness, but discovers things about herself that she never expected. All is going well, until Cornelia’s grandson comes into the picture. Nicholas is arrogant and rude. He thinks he’s got Maren all figured out, but he couldn’t be further from the truth. The tension between Nicholas & Maren is sky high as sparks fly with every encounter and Nicholas & Maren will leave you hanging on every word, waiting to see what would happen next…..Love the One You Hate is the kind of book that once you start, you won’t be able to place it down. Maren is such a likable character. Her hero grows and blossoms so much. I loved seeing her transform and figure out what she wants out of this thing called life. And then we have Nicholas. In the beginning, he was rude and standoffish. He gave Mr. Darcy a run for his money. Yes, he had his reasons for the method he was. He wanted what was best for Cornelia and was afraid of people taking advantage of her. And let’s just say he created this story definitely rock a Pride and Prejudice vibe. Together these two had a lot of tension and brilliant chemistry. I loved the slow burning romance romance between them and the push & pull left me begging for more. I honestly couldn’t obtain enough of their story and couldn’t wait to see how things would play the One You Hate is a unbelievable read from beginning to end. Nicholas & Maren will have you falling head of heels in love with their story. Cornelia is a force to be reckoned with and is hands down, one of my favorite secondary characters. She’s real, honest and is the kind of woman that everyone needs in their lives. Love the One You Hate is a story of romance, angst and self discovery. And I loved every single second of it…..

So when she is offered the position of being a companion to Cornelia Cromwell, Maren is understandably very reluctant to believe that this job is what it really seems to be. Add in the obvious discomfort of being so far out of her element, and the gorgeous man who wants her thrown out almost immediately, Maren isn't quite sure of where she really fits in within Newport cholas Hunt was born into the prestigious Cromwell hierarchy, and he tends to be wary of any fresh person attempting to infiltrate his grandmother's inner circle, and his only remaining family that he is very protective of. Prepared to dislike everything that Maren represents, Nicholas finds that he is drawn to her, just as much as his grandmother is... but any overture of a romantic nature on his part would be wrong on so a lot of levels... unless of course... Maren disagrees...This was such an awesome story! Emotional, fanciful, refreshing and fun, this book was the excellent escape and a highly entertaining interlude. I loved Maren, she was resilient and admirable, all while being a small lost while finding her method in life. And Nicholas, while at the begin only showed his distrust and frustration when it came to Maren, soon lets his guard down and demonstrates just how amazing of a man he really is behind his gruff exterior. The setting of the Rosethorn estate was magical and inspiring, and it added so much rich imagery to the story and Maren's utter change in is author's writing is always a unique treat, and I devoured this book the second I got my hands on it. With stories that are always witty, entertaining and heartfelt, Love the One You Hate was another fabulous example of just why she is the reigning queen of the romantic comedy.I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

I was super excited to search this book but sadly disappointed. The info is all common sense- if you like nature run outside instead of treadmill, if you have more energy in the morning do your run then. It was like reading a book full of captions from a runners magazine

Funny, interesting read - kept me engaged, chuckling to myself, and reading funny or interesting parts aloud to my non-runner husband the whole method through. You can tell that the author is truly NOT snobby or elitist about running, even though it's clear she's a "real" runner. But basically, anyone who runs a step, like ever, is a runner, and this book kind of talks you through that.I have actually been a runner most of my life, and I've gotten so much out of it - amazing friends, sense of accomplishment, seeing amazing places, etc.... so I just love the thought of bringing more people to the sport. If I'm honest, I truly hate it sometimes too, but the benefits FAR outweigh the pain. I think most people are intimidated by (or annoyed by!) the short shorts/singlet wearing 6:00 a.m. crowd, and this book will convince you that running is definitely NOT only that.

This book was simple to read and I could relate to Lisa's points. I have fun running, but can also burn out from time to time. I appreciated the reflective aspect of the book. It encourages self-evaluation. When you spend time thinking about what times of the day are best for you to run, you learn how to better plan for a productive run. Lisa gets right to the nitty gritty and doesn't waste words in this book.

This is not your standard “run a faster 5k” book. It is a series of fun, accessible (and even sometimes silly) conversations with your (soon to be) best friend. Jhung counters each and every one of your excuses by tapping the knowledge and expertise of running experts from across the country and providing a reason to run!

I've been a runner for ever! I love it for so a lot of reasons...too a lot of to contain here. I love when fresh runners or people interested in becoming runners pepper me with questions. While I always love sharing my enthusiasm, I always worry I'm leaving something out....the something that the particular person asking needs to connect with the love of running too. This book is awesome! Everything is in here....running with kids, starting training plans, common running pains and glitches, gear explanations....everything! Amazing bonus if you wish to recruit more training partners or encourange passed runners to obtain back out there! Loved this author's other book too, Trailhead: The Dirt on All Things Trail Running.

For people fresh to running, there is lots of amazing info for getting you started running in a method that makes it fun so you will stick with it! This is not a training manual, it's a book full of hints for those who havn't run much but really wish to or have a goal of running a race and maybe never have before. I thought this book was super entertaining and has already gotten me out on a few runs!!

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐     This was my first book by this author and it won't be the last. I really loved going along with the journey within these pages. It reminded me of some of my favorite football films mixed with a romance that embedded itself in my heart quickly.     Aiden was everything a character should be.  A character that never gives up and wars for what he wants while maintaining a level of respect by his peers and a heart of gold. He meets Ivy when her family moves in next door when they are both young.  While his home life was everything a kid could want, Ivy's was anything but happy. She spent most of her nights sneaking into his window and sleeping in his closet until she finally had enough and decided to leave.     Four years pass, where Ivy's life takes an even darker turn. She turns to bodily hurt and even though there isn't a lot of detail, the topic is still show so anyone with triggers need to approach cautiously.  I knew on a private basis some of the darkness in this book and the following quote puts Ivy's situation in the excellent light."Those sorts of things build and build and build, collecting under your skin and in your soul until you can’t take it anymore. Sometimes the emotions won’t come out on their own and you need to do something about it."     They surprisingly search themselves at the same college where Aiden is a star football player and Ivy does everything she can to remain an extremely strong, spitfire of a girl when she comes face to face with him again.  All he wants to do is be there for her in any method he can and she refuses him at every turn."I hate you sometimes.” I lean in again, crowding her space. “I dare you to hate me, Ivy. We both know you don’t. You couldn’t even if you tried."     Aiden's hero had me swooning time and time again. The chemistry between them was off the charts HOT. He was everything I would wish in a man, best mate included."You were always mine, Chaos. Five years doesn’t change the fact that it’s always been me. Nobody else had a chance."     He refuses to give up. I loved the push and pull between them. There were several angst filled moments that only proved to create me love Ivy even more. No one pushed her around. She is definitely someone I'd wish as a friend."When you meet the right person, it doesn’t matter what happens because fate will always bring you together."     I was smiling as I finished the latest chapter. They will forever be a favorite couple of mine. I will definitely be diving into this author's backlist as soon as possible!

4.5 out of 5 starsI cannot place into words how this book has touched me. B Celeste does a amazing job of reaching in and touching our hearts as we read this attractive is book will take you an emotional journey through self acceptance and self sacrifice and finding your method back. Ivy is a girl that never felt amazing enough, always feeling like a nuisance and chaos in her family's life. Ivy runs, runs from the second family that loved her. Runs from the boy that has always had her back, the boy that allow her go. She must learn to stand on her own two feet and live for herself.“I dare you to hate me, Ivy. We both know you don’t. You couldn’t even if you tried.”Aiden allow her go once but can he allow her go a second time. Fate is a fickle thing and sometimes no matter how far you go, it's written in the stars, someday you will search your method home. I loved that he wasn’t an alpha and surprised by the roll reversal of experience. This gave us a fresh dynamic to a story that I have not seen in a long is is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to dive into her back log and see what else she has out there!.

Marissa does a unbelievable job of connecting to her readers through her candid and honest feelings about her motherhood journey. At times it is uncomfortable to read because she indirectly challenges you to place aside the societal taboos and allow go of the "mom shame" to have an authentic conversation with yourself about your own feelings on motherhood and the judgements placed on women and mothers, not only by society, but by one another. Amazing job, Marissa!

One of my favorite things is an author that can take a hero I absolutely loathed as a secondary hero (although, don't tell Jason Ford I referred to him as secondary, I'm not sure he would ever feel less than the main hero in anyones book) and give them their own story that has me eating my hate filled words of him and end up with him stealing a bot of my heart. I truly wasnt sure Jason and Felicity would click for me, but click they did and I loved every hate/love filled page. This series is a total champion if you're looking for highschool drama times 100 and the antics of young men boarding the line of right and wrong and ruling the town.

There is tremendous pressure on parents to be thrilled and unconditionally loving At every given moment of our parenting journey. This book gives us permission to accept the feelings we have even if they aren’t pretty. Being a parent at any scene in the android game can be challenging and overwhelming. Marissa gives us permission to take care of ourselves without feeling guilty or shameful; a notice every caregiver needs to hear along the way.

Football, bucket lists, arch rival and opponents to lovers. The story of Jason & Felicity is a steady stream of ups and downs. It was amazing to be in both these characters heads. I thought Jason was going to be the only complex character, but Felicity has layers too. Once they strip each other bare, what is found underneath the layers is beautiful.Jason is my favorite character. I love complicated characters, and he is definitely that. I loved being in his head, getting a various take on what he never shows on the outside. Felicity is more of an begin book, but i learned more of her problems and insecurities as well. Watching these two come together was angst ridden and messy, but what comes out of that is two people who are so various that they’re the best thing for each other. I love this couple!!I love this series! I can’t wait for the next book, and I’m looking forward to Asher finally getting his satisfied ending. My heart goes out to that boy.

This book takes off right where The Problem With You ends. We pick up with Felicity and Jason after their night together in Fresh York. They have the excellent love/hate relationship that is full of angst and secret longing. Jason doesn't seem to know what to do with Felicity as she is brought into the group after Hailee and Cameron obtain together. Hailee is able to redeem Jason even after all of his horrible behaviors to both Hailee and herself. Felicity brings out the softer side of Jason that he is no longer familiar with, and these feelings definitely create him push back harder.I love L.A.'s writing in her series. She does a amazing job in sucking the reader in to the series. It's like living high school all over again without all of the awkwardness of having to navigate it myself. I obtain to experience the love, hate, angst, happy, and sad moments in a globe that L.A.'s imagination has built. I can't wait to read what's coming in the third book.

The author helped me to feel vindicated on my first time motherhood journey. I’m not going to be the excellent mom & that’s ok. As attractive and life altering as parenting is, I am also reminded that it’s ok NOT to like some aspects of this mommy-hood thing... what I also valued from the book were testaments from other moms out there. Jason Ford is every bit the poor boy your mom warned you to stay away. Of course, it’s harder to stay away from him when his stepsister is your BFF. Jason Ford it the quarterback for Rixon Raiders and is on track to go to Penn and play with the huge boys.Felicity Giles is a powerful girl and written well. I loved reading about her wanting to change and embrace fresh ways, while also respecting her parents. Felicity required this growth because she wasn’t satisfied with the path her parents had set her up. She had already accomplished everything her parents thought she required to do, and everything else was considered a distraction.I am starting to wonder if I used not to like YA/NA because they were so immature. I required to search an author who could YA/NA without coming off as whiny or extremely immature bratty characters. L.A. Cotton is the author I needed, and I am so thankful I took a possibility and read this book. I did, however, begin at book two, but I plan on reading one and three shortly.I do recommend this book, but understand Jason is not a nice guy. He is a grade-A you know what. However, people can and will sacrifice for the ones they love. Jason was able to redeem himself in my eyes.

I have to say that I was not a fan of Jason after reading The Problem With You, but after reading this book and I am now a fan of QB1!! Jason is adored by all, the adults wish to please him and create sure he wins the next football game, the girls wish to hook up with him and then brag about it and his dad wants him to live his dream that he never could and go all the method to the NFL. Jason is one mad broody alpha who doesn't trust a lot of people and keeps acquaintances at arms length and he most definitely did not do relationships. That's why when Felicity "Flick" came into the picture he didn't know how to handle that. Felicity, the amazing girl rule follower who never strayed from her goals decided that her senior year she required to create some changes and achieve her goals. Losing her V card was one of them, what she didn't expect was it to be Jason nor fall in love with him. These two have chemistry that is undeniable. Emotions run high on this book and I love how after everything the amazing girl, the nerd comes out on top!!

4.5 Stars for the fall of the Rixon Raider’s QB1! Football was supposed to be his one and only love and then Felicity happened. Jason’s dream is about to change. Maybe the dream can be more than just football.Felicity knew he was not the one, but you can’t support who you love. He damage her more times than she could count. He was callous and hurtful. Cruel and cold. He went out of his method to tear her down and hold his distance. However, her head knew she required to walk away but her heart didn’t obtain the message.Jason was fighting a losing battle. No matter what he did, his heart had it’s own plan. Things were complicated. School rivals would obtain ugly and sacrifices would need to be made. He just required to victory the playoffs and obtain to college to play ball. A girlfriend would complicate his is story is about self-discovery and pushing your boundaries. When you’re young, it’s the time to test things outside your comfort zone, experiment with fresh experiences, fall in love and chase your dreams. This is that story, with a whole lot of chemistry. Jason was the star player that every girl wanted but only one could ever truly have. Felicy was his endgame.

Better than I expected. In the 1st book, I like Flick very much but I don’t know about Jason. The more I read the 2nd book, which was reflected the relationship between Flick and Jas, the more I started to see the “invisible” love between them. It’s tough to obtain invested to their type of love yet in time, it would bloom small by little. The undeniable touch, kisses, and most importantly, the android game they play becomes so powerful, you, as a reader, cannot deny their love unfolding beautifully in front of you with words & ears (audiobook). I think it’s best to read the 1st book to understand Jason’s problems as well with Flick’s problems of whom they truly wish to be. Jason is so determined to be the best of the best as a football player (very alpha male & a control freak- he must be in control b/c everything else in his mind, so it seems, a @#$%!&aotic), no distractions whatsoever. As for Flick, she is so determined to allow it loose (to be a bit wild, don’t wish to be a boring person, to believe being a small poor is good), to create her senior year the best of the best.I was quite in tune with this book even if I believe it’s best to have this in a College scenario v.s. Highschool scenario. It’s all good. The book is described as this phrase, “...don't count the days; create each day count. No matter what scene of life you search yourself in, just remember to cherish each moment as you transition to your next adventure.” According to Flick, falling in love wasn’t the plan, but it might be worth it in journey of cliche of high school experiences.
