Received my 4 tires on March 26th 2019. Tires look fine have yet to run them but the date code on them of 3216 makes these tires 2 1/2 years old before I even mount them. Beautiful disappointing they are sending old stock out the door at fresh tire prices.
I have had this tire on my 6x12 steel utility trailer for four years now, purchased Oct 2013 here.Tire performs flawlessly and looks like new. Have treated it several times with some 303 outside, expectit to latest a long xxis is worth the additional money.I hold them inflated about ten pounds under top psi spec, they have more load handling than I need.Even tread wear also, I'm guessing over about 8 thousand miles.
These Maxxis M8008 are the best tires available for trailers.I have owned a "toy hauler" since 2012. I have had tire issues before and I have seen mates having serious tire problems. After reading a lot of various RV forums, I decided these were the best available.I just finished a 2 week (2700 mile) trip with my family during summer around California, Arizona, Fresh Mexico and Colorado. The ambient temp got as high as 118 degrees Fahrenheit. No tire problems at all, couldn't be any happier with these.
I searched the web researching different trailer tire brands when I required to replace the tires on my horse trailer. I also conferred with my brother-in-law who builds race vehicle frames and is a guru on race vehicle and horse trailers. He searched the race vehicle websites/blogs that he frequents and found that several people had only amazing things to say about Maaxis. I upgraded to a higher load rating (from C to D, 6 ply to 8 ply), which was the highest available in my tire size. I bought my tires from Amazon, using their free shipping. They arrived super quick (4 days). I've used the trailer a few times since getting them. I have no complaints. In my research, I was initially inclined to go with one of the huge name brands (one you would think is "Good", hint), but I and my brother-in-law both found several reports of that brand trailer tire blowing out even when the tires were new. If you look at the Maaxis website, you will search it is very well organized, simple to use and they are obviously a smaller business that takes pride in certain niches, such as trailer tires (they also create bike tires and my husband, an avid cyclist, says they are a amazing quality bike tire). I personally search this to be better than the huge corporations who are selling trailer tires as an after-thought. On the Goodyear website, you can't search info on trailer tires--obviously not an zone where they place any focus.
Replaced 5 "China Bombs (CB)" on my 1 year old RV trailer. The spare CB blew our and had never been mounted - - damaged back of trailer. CB tires on the ground - - 3 had difigured treads, and would have blown next time I used XXIS is one of the BEST trailer tires on the market. HIGH QUALITY - DURABLE - - LIVE UP TO REPUTATION OF COMPANY. Recommend immediate replacement of any OEM CB tire on an RV trailer before you have $2000 hurt or more from a blown tire, not to mention that accident from blown tires is VERY HIGHLY LIKELY TO OCCUR!!!!
We were traveling cross country this summer and I didn't wish any tire problems with my 2012 travel trailer. So I did lots of research, read lots of reviews and decided to go for the Maxxis Load range D tires ( My original tires were Goody**r load range C). I ran them at the recommended 65 PSI pressure and place 8000 miles on them in a month with not a single tire issue. We pulled through lots of hot weather including 115 degree ambient temperature in the Mojave Desert. I run a tire pressure monitor and the heat build up in these tires usually never got more than 10 degrees above ambient and trailer sway from passing 18 wheelers was reduced because these have a stiffer sidewall. I am extremely happy with the tires and highly recommend them.
I placed two separate orders for tires. The two tires from Amazon were manufactured 3 months earlier and the two CLT tires were manufactured 16 months earlier. These tires were highly rated in different forums and I will modernize the review once I have some miles on them.
Best trailer tire in my opinion. Lost a tire in extreme California summertime heat on my massive Arctic Fox RV trailer, leaving a single Maxxis 10-ply tire to help the entire camper weight (with tanks full) for a few miles until I could pull over to change it. Getting back to Ohio after changing the blown tire, I took a look at the tire that held and cannot believe that I created it back to Ohio without having to change the other tire. Outstanding RV tires.
Quick shipping, they look great.04 KTM 450 excAlso came with oversized front rotor and caliper adapter bracket. I decided not to install that, because its easier to switch back to dirt wheels without it. Install wasn't poor at all. Had to take off a few things to fit rear wheel and re installed after wheel was installed. Chaiin had to be chop 2 links for my install.
EXo platform works great, so does the mobile app. I love when I can always obtain notification from my colleges, and I hope the squad are still working to improve the app. Home screen includes 4 rectangles but there are only 3 icons? Guess they will give us more features. I have issue when sending status with picture from Android device 4.2.2. And too poor that users cannot read wiki and forum (well yes but all CSS disappears) so I still have to use both web application and native application
Much more inexpensive than other brands of very related product. Seems good, on first impression. Not super-study, and flexes a bit when I stand on it, so may create me a bit nervous when lifting something massive with it up onto the roof rack of my vehicle, but I don't know if it is any better with the competitors. I have fairly huge SUV tires, and still have it on its smallest/narrowest setting on top, so could be a issue for cars with narrower tires.
Beautiful sturdy product. Seems as though it would do its job, however it did not fit on my truck tire as it was intended, so I returned it. Be sure to double measure the width and depth of the tire, if it is too huge for the opening it will not work.
Works! We have a fresh 3500 Chevy and it is difficult to work under the hood with a short stature. Created 1 fast adjustment out of the box and was able to do what I y concern is depending on tire size, it may seem like it could slip. Had someone spot me during use to create sure no issues. Did not have an problem during use - first time user just using precautions.
