Warren Buffett's 3 Favorite Books: A guide to The Intelligent Investor, Security Analysis, and The Wealth of Nations (Warren Buffett's 3 Favorite Books Book 1) review [Book]  2017-12-3 18:0

The book was a small shorter and more primary than I was expecting, but it does a amazing job of covering fundamentals with concrete examples. A amazing introduction into the globe of value based investing for those without much experience. If you are more experienced in fundamentals then I would go straight for the books that this one is attempting to summarize.

I like how this book goes through the actual equations for things like intrinsic value. I understand its not a definitive value but it really helped me to obtain a true frame is reference. I've been frustrated for a long time hearing some of these things talked about in the most ambiguous of terms.

I really thought it would be a bit more of a 'cliffs notes' of the three books. Not really. Not at all. Instead, it's written in the first part like it's intended for a GED review course. Don't obtain me wrong, I enjoyed to clever small story, but it was inconsistent with the rest of the book. In the beginning, he basically explains that a one dollar gain on a ten dollar investment is a 10% profit and then halfway through the book starts throwing around terms like derivative like it's nothing. Maybe he figures he had you geared up. I like that he has a companion www service where you can dig in more. I think he really wants people to understand these things and tries to relate them on a level that's recognizable. So, I don't mind the cartoon so much. If you're a beginner, this is a amazing book. If you're a small more seasoned, why aren't you just reading the three books instead?

This is a amazing book if you wish to learn how to invest based on solid business principles rather than emotion and voodoo economics. I really appreciated this book and the accompanying videos via links in the ebook. You can simply access the videos off his webpage, but I think it's worth reading the ebook and then watching the videos. The author is able to break down some complicated literature into something understandable for the average reader. In the videos he actually shows you where you can obtain all the info he is using, so you can duplicate the process on your own. I watched his videos on my smartphone and went to the same www services he was using so I could trace the exact steps and this was helpful to me. In addition, his webpage has financial calculators you can use to value companies that are simple to use because he tells you how in the different video segments.

I have read a lot of books about investing, I want I had found this book before spent thousands of dollars in seminars and other books with no true input. The book explains the Buffett method to evaluate stocks and bonds. It comes with free videos to reinforce every chapter in the book. The videos are very professional made. You will search videos in the author's web website and you tube. The videos along paid at least one semester in college ( Finance 101). If you really wish to learn to evaluate stocks like a guru watch the videos along with the book. In my opinion, the videos are extremely useful . The book itself is an simple read. The book is self published, but don't judge the cover or quality of paper. Judge the content of the book and the teachings in the videos. After you finish reading this book and watch the videos, I highly recommend to read The smart Investor and Security Analysis second edition by Benjamin Graham. Have a safe investment journey!!

Preston Pysh faithfully info Warren Buffett's principles for investing to provide investors a specific approach to value investing. He weaves this info around a review of Warren Buffett's three favorite books. Having read as much of Warren Buffett's writings, interviews and transcripts of speeches and annual meetings as I can find, I think Preston has gotten to the key elements of choosing a company worthy of investing in and gotten to the heart of calculating intrinsic value. Warren Buffett gives ample guidance and tips on how to calculate the intrinsic value of a stock, but he will not come out and say exactly how he calculates it. Preston Pysh has made an exceptionally complete and yet easy approach to calculating the value of a company. If you wish to learn more about Warren Buffett's methods read my book "365 Everyday Quotations from Warren Buffett's Writings and Talks".

Starts with a easy Laymen's intro with a story between a boy's lemonade stand(company, main shares), his mates (investors, greed / fear cycles) and his dad (financial advisor). The first 4 chapters use common day scenarios of this boy on his lemonade business to present the simplified shop process of greed and fear cycles vs actual worth of the business. Amazing examples gave me a whole fresh look at the shop and investing on a easy and simple to understand level. Then the following chapters obtain straight to the point of value investing how to and establishes the guidelines to be followed just as Warren Buffet's style investing is somewhat described. The book also has links to youtube videos that further illustrate the examples and practice how to follow the steps. Best book to obtain started in value investing out there!

Warren Buffett's 3 Favorite Books: A guide to The Intelligent Investor, Security Analysis, and The Wealth of Nations (Warren Buffett's 3 Favorite Books Book 1) review [Book]  2017-12-6 18:1

This book is a solid introduction to value investing. It's an enjoyable read, written in an accessible style, with clear examples and explanations, in layman's terms. At an affordable is is an honest book. The author lays it all out. He doesn't test to lure you into buying a more expensive product/service, like a lot of others. The book has a companion web site, with videos reinforcing and explaining the concepts taught in the book. Lots of info there. They say a picture is worth a thousands words. Imagine how much a few hours of video are worth. And the author goes a step further. He provides a discussion forum, where you can ask questions and have them my opinion the same level of teaching, in a traditional seminar/program setting, would easily cost a few thousands. Here you can obtain it for a fraction of that. Now that's a bargain. That's what value investing is all about.

If you are fresh to investing, or just wish to support refresh yourself on the basics of financial assets such as common stock and bonds, this book is a amazing resource that fundamentally explains the concepts of investing. When you wish to obtain into more detail, I recommend The Smart Investor, Rev. Ed.But please note that this book is not written by Warren Buffet. It is a condensed ver of Buffett's favorite three books (Intelligent Investor, Security Analysis, and Wealth of Nations) designed to create the sometimes incredibly detailed and dense content of those three texts easy and accessible to those who do not understand terms like working capital, current ratio, or book value.

I highly recommend this book. The subject and core principles this book covers are essential to your private cash management strategy. The best part is that it's an simple read while still covering "fundamentals" and overall investment tactic and attitude. It's the best 3 bucks I've ever spent. Worth method more than the price you pay for a Taco Bell burrito.

A amazing book into the globe of understanding numbers underlying business performance. The author has done a remarkable job of simplifying the complex globe of value investing and security analysis for the layman. Book provides an overview of primary financial instruments such as Bonds, Stocks, Funds, and Indexes as well as goes into detail of how to calculate a business' intrinsic value. In addition, author also suggests benchmark values for key performance ratios such as a less than 15 for PE ratio, a

This is not for people who know value investing and wish insight into Warren Buffett's particular brand of value investing. It is, however, an perfect introduction to investing itself. The examples are clear, relevant and the pacing is perfect for beginners. I don't hang out with the B-meister so I can't say if Pysh's interpretation of the Buffett way is accurate or not. I've read Graham's Smart Investor and Mary Buffett's Buffetology and the core fundamentals are shared between the works. Pysh's interpretation is book value centric while Mary Buffett loves the term durable competative advantage and is more return on total capital. If stocks are just things in your mutual fund or that thing you bought because it looked like a amazing deal, this book is an perfect entry into the globe of investing.

The book was a small shorter and more primary than I was expecting, but it does a amazing job of covering fundamentals with concrete examples. A amazing introduction into the globe of value based investing for those without much experience. If you are more experienced in fundamentals then I would go straight for the books that this one is attempting to summarize.

This book is fantastic! I currently keep an MBA and I've studied all the amazing books on Warren Buffett and Ben Graham for the past 8 years and all I can say is that this is one of the greatest books on value investing that I have ever read. It's a very easy to follow book and the main points on value investing are clearly laid out and simple to understand. I want I would have had this book 8 years ago when I was starting out in this field. Also, the videos on his www service are awesome. The videos go into greater detail from what the book covers so you obtain a amazing overall complementary course between the book and videos. He also has a forum on his www service where you can ask questions and he helps respond your is book would create for a amazing high school or college graduation bonus as it's a easy read and exposes you to value investing and understanding the difference between price and value. Price is what you pay and value is what you so, I encourage you to read his recommended books that he recommends at the end of his book and on his www service (The Smart Investor, Reading Financial Reports for Dummies, and The Bond Book) just to name a few.

I like how this book goes through the actual equations for things like intrinsic value. I understand its not a definitive value but it really helped me to obtain a true frame is reference. I've been frustrated for a long time hearing some of these things talked about in the most ambiguous of terms.

I totally liked the method the author-George Pysh-explained buying and selling stocks with a child and his successful lemonade stand really worked for me.What I did not like was going to-Warren -as suggested regularly throughout the book beginning at the end of chapter two or three. First time I went to that website, after lesson one, a warning pups up and says that illegal activity has been detected! Then my browser froze and the words “contact Apple help immediately shows up on my iPhone 6+. Somebody should fix this-give customers a heads-up, or remove the book from Amazon. Just Saying 🧐☹️

Hello Folks,This is the best investment book I have ever read. I have an MBA and Preston explains financial concepts that blow away the way I've been taught. I believe that Preston has set a precedent in how technical books will be conveyed: Simple, tight, true world, with hours of video to back up each concept. And, he has his own www service where you can Q&A him if you have questions surrounding the is book is under $3! (Kindle)You will be hard pressed to search a better multimedia presentation on the planet that has a better eston, you are the best! I hope other technical authors now come to the plate and offer such value...Regards,Marc
