Not good Streaming Experience! I love Tomorrowland but this application needs to improve on it's streaming I can stream 4k films on Netflix without any problems yet I can't go that long without this stopping and rebuffering. Even after updating still a not good experience on the app. Seems to work okay on my computer but not the application itself, Spotify works amazing with high quality on my phone however this application can't seem to stream so frustrating!
The year is 1939, and the Fresh York World's Fair is just about to open. A secret society called Plus Ultra is about to reveal their largest secrets to the world, but there's a cyborg out to obtain vengeance, and Nazis at every turn trying to obtain their hands on him - and a recruited mother and son are caught in the is is a bonafide prequel to the film that comes out in May 2015. Something to flesh out the globe of 'Tomorrowland', which has already been explored in Alternate Reality Games, the 1952 mystery box, and other ere's a seriously fun story that has a ton of nods to history and science fiction. References to the First Globe Science Convention (WorldCon), early Disney history, and twists on well-known Tesla and Earhart history. The story twists and turns with actual history on that fateful weekend, and the attention to detail is e artwork, by Jonathan Case, is fun and perfect. There's a full-color comic inside the book with the print copy (not the Kindle copy), that is the same comic one of the main characters gets in the story, and it has a puzzle in the back you can solve too. When I was a kid, I received a several of the "Tom Swift, Jr" books over a couple of Christmases. (No doubt bought from the pages of the old Sears Christmas catalogs, from which my mom got most of our gifts). These had a amazing "Gee wiz isn't the future going to be amazing with all these cool gizmos?" vibe to them. The promise of science and technology was the creation of a better e opening of this book, a prequel to the Disney "Tomorrowland" movie and written by some of those involved in the movie, reminded me quite a bit of those books, and that's a amazing thing. A sense of wonder was just what I needed. But the cute child working on airplanes in the 1920s becomes a rampaging, murderous cyborg who spends the majority of the book showing up at different areas wrecking everything and threatening death. He's a decidedly unsympathetic hero in a story that could use more of e setting for the book is just about perfect. It is July, 1939, and most of the happenings take put in Fresh York, which that summer was hosting both the World's Fair, themed as the "World of Tomorrow", and the first Globe Science Fiction Convention. It is the dovetailing of the Fair's optimistic look at how science could improve our daily life in wondrous ways with the writers who were making popular the entire literary field of SF with their thrilling wonder stories. Both happenings figure in the books narrative, though I felt the spirit of the Fair, which in a lot of ways was what we might have expected the book to center on, was barely portrayed. The famed Trylon and Perisphere structures are worked in, but largely as the facade for a secret base. But, as we know, in the summer of 1939 the globe was on the cusp of WWII, and the promised better future foretold by the Fair would be largely engulfed in six long years of war. Science, invention, and technology would be employed as a means to overcome the opponent rather that make e plot of the book is woven in several strands. A young man takes his terminally ill mother on a trip to Fresh York to see the Fair and attend the SF convention. At the same Plus Ultra, an organization of thinkers, inventors and visionaries, is about to use those happenings to unveil their plans for a better world. (Plus Ultra is much better explained here than it is in the film, and I believe the failed attempt of the organization to reveal their plans and recruit people referred to in the film constitutes the happenings of this book.) And because it's 1939, we have some Nazis asvillians, trying to capture the cyborg for their own nefarious the film it is a prelude to, I think "Before Tomorrowland" sacrifices some of the sense of wonder and establishment of what a better future would be like to chase scenes and action sequence. That's well and good, I suppose, and perhaps what is required to hold people's interest. And it's hard to argue versus scenes where Amelia Earhart is dodging poor guys on a an airship. But, it wasn't all that what I had hoped for or expected from the book. I was looking for a stronger idea of what a better tomorrow would be and more background about how it could about, a bit more vision and philosophy to go with the action.
"Before Tomorrowland: The Secret History of the Globe of Tomorrowland" is the Kindle ver of the comic that accompanies "Before Tomorrowland."Referenced in "Before Tomorrowland," this comic is a 'replica' of the comic that main character, Lee, and his mother, Clara, keep that gives them insight into the globe of Tomorrowland. This comic is short and fun to read, but will not create much sense without also reading "Before Tomorrowland," which I highly recommend.
On a flight back from the UK a few months ago, I watched Tomorrowland starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson. I absolutely LOVED it. I loved it so much, in fact, that when I discovered a prequel to the movie was written I snatched it up immediately. The book is Before Tomorrowland by Jeff Jensen, Brad Bird, Jonathan Case, and Damon Lindelof. The primary premise is to set up the globe that is already constructed in the film. The best part about the storyline was how popular figures from the past were incorporated. Imagine Nikola Tesla, Howard Hughes, Albert Einstein, and Amelia Earhart all working together in a super secret organization where the technology of the 1930s far exceeds that of today. If that wasn't impetus enough to go out and read this book then I don't know how I can convince you. (Except maybe you'll obtain excited about the fact that at the back of the hardcover edition there's a short color comic that is referenced throughout the book for additional immersion.) Also, go watch the movie because I don't think it got nearly enough praise.
Disney is doing a fine job of promoting their upcoming film, "Tomorrowland", with this novel set in the 1920's and 30's. It features a myriad of fictional and popular characters and plays out like a classic noir novel. Imaagine, if you will, that the greatest minds of our time --- in an effort to save the future of planet earth --- have made a excellent globe in an alternate dimension. Some true poor guys (including Nazi's) wish to obtain their hands on this technology to claim dominance over both dimensions. With characters like Nikola Tesla, Howard Hughes, Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart (who did NOT disapper) constantly involved in the plot this thrill-ride of a novel reads like an old serialized film and is a amazing pre-cursor to the fresh film.
I'm sorry, but while the production values of the book are high - I was simply bored out of my mind. Expecting a pulp adventure, I received not the pulp, but the rind. Too slow for my taste - this required to be a brisk action-adventure with a backdrop that mirrored reality in a funhouse way. Instead I kept seeing references to what are amazing pulp characters (Rotwang from Metropolis to name one), musing all the time. I wanted to feel dropped into the adventure and unfortunately it felt like I was slowly seeping into the muck. Pass.
Disney's Tomorrowland always seemed to be based on a logical development of science. The "Before Tomorrowland" story line was developed with a weak science part and powerful fiction part. You need teleportation, have Nikola Tesla do it over the telephone lines. You need an atomic bomb to begin a interdimensional portal, have Albert Einstein build one for you. You need a pilot to chase down Nazi jets, have Amelia Earhart do it. But if it introduces these true historical figures to the current YA generation, maybe the book has done something.
I really enjoyed this book because it took me back to my childhood reading Awesome Stories and other science fiction ainex at youths. Everything about the book; style of writing, massive paper, cover, and easy illustrations, was like the old 1950s books. This story of the Plus Ultra society and Tomorrowland is not connected directly to the Tomorrowland film released May of 2015, but this book does provide interesting backstory. It is aimed at pre-teen to teen, but I enjoyed it. Read this and watch the Disney movie, they go together well. And I love the idea of optimizim that both promote.
Having watched Tomorrowland I was hoping to obtain more in the method of this book - but the book never really engages the reader. There is not very much about the characters that makes me root or sympathize for them or with them. The story is written like it wants to be brilliant, but it never actually gets there, nor does it reveal anything about Plus Ultra or Tomorrowland that really warrants the cover price. If they spent more time with the characters and less jumping around, it might have been worth my time. Very disappointed.
Positive: Characters easily come alive. The story/plot line is amazing and e scenes of the film are necessarily rather fast moving and do not discover background happenings much. So this novel provides helpful background for understanding the film more thoroughly, especially different comments like referring to Plus e historical characters used in the story come across as fairly authentic for the most part. But Clara, the sci-fi fan artist is my favorite, funny, unpredictable, playful and gative: Wikipedia tells me that this is Jeff Jensen's first prose novel. A few years before he, along with Jonathan Case, won and Eisner award for the graphic novel Green River Killer: A Real Detective Story. Perhaps that explains why I found myself confused at times reading Beyond Tomorrowland. I read it a second time, and not only enjoyed it more but understood what was going on more readily. I think it was the lack of two things: (1) clear transitions (as opposed to abrupt stage changes) and (2) well-described settings (although this varied from section to section). I was also rather annoyed by the constant repetition of "Plus Ultra," at times several times per page! All in all, an enjoyable novel, with interesting characters and an intriguing commended.P.S. don't miss the perfect and fanfiction novel "Tomorrowland: Frank and Athena" I cannot contain a link here, but It is written by T. K. Brent, and you can search it at
Xcultures has proven a lot of times over, that there can be a positive notice behind a club beat. Not all melody in this globe is killing, racism, and vulgarities. They present us through their music, that as one nation, we must come together and celebrate. This track has not only a fierce club beat, but it is a sure crowd grabber. This tune promises to obtain people out on the floor, and have them jumping through the whole song. Through special tribal influence, and modern electronic beats, Xcultures has raised the bar for other electronic acts, and taken us to a higher level in World, and Rave styles. Check this one out!!!
Got this for like $.99 cents and thought I'd take a chance. Wow! Amazing sexy Latin-Afro dance melody that would obtain anyone in the mood! It really is a hidden gem. It is like Salsa-Rhumba-Bossa Nova with terrific backbeats and fun, satisfied instruments like the marimba and tambourine and it just rocks without being overbearing or dominating. Excellent for when a pick-me-up is needed. Amazing for a party as background mood music, You can't support but feel satisfied when you hear these beats!
I really liked this book. MC was a true hero having to master his abilities. Women had to master their abilities. Amazing story line. Amazing first story in what could be a amazing series. Looking forward to books 2-??. I have never read this author before. I hope he keeps writing this series
This collection of 3 short novels is really poorly written. The author has a poor habit of leaving out words that would create the sentence create sense. The author also frequently forgets to use the possessive ver of a word instead of the plural form. The plot is flimsy at best, and feels like there was no outline made prior to e really sad part is that this collection says “Newly revised and edited.” I shudder to think how much worse this mess was before the supposed editing.
I love harem stories and this one, as a story, did not disapoint. However, what really got me (and why not a 5 star), is all the spelling and grammatical mistakes. I found myself editing the book as I was reading along, which took some of the enjoyment out. I very much look forward to an actual book 2 or 3, not what is on Amazon currently, they create no sense, just portions of the actual book. A sequel should be exactly that, a continuation of the story. So work on that and I will love to read the next one. Thanks.
Not bad, given the concept is fairly predictable; I’m actually looking forward to the next addition to the story. The issue is that I'm almost certain that this is a first draft; not everything written created sense just from a logical standpoint and virtually every paragraph of every page had at least one to three glaringly obvious grammar errors that distracted from the story. Please fix that in the next set of stories.
Hold it coming. (Pun included)Some of the questions I have are: Why isnt scrybot brought back? Will there be any future technology + magic combos to remake or add to this globe as it currently stands? Are pregnancies going to happen? There are more questions than these, but just after reading these are the few that came to mind.
