Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-9 18:0

December 7, 2014A Book Review of "Plague" by Kent Heckenlively and Judy MikovitsBy Russell DobkinsThis is a "Great Book"! I have read a lot of "Great Books", including "Our Stolen Future" by Dr. Theo Colburn, "Silent Spring" by Rachael Carson, "Pandora's Poison" by Joe Thornton, "Radioactive Heaven and Earth" by IPPNW, "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" by Dr. Weston Price, "The China Study"by Campbell, "Not On The Label" by Lawrence, "Harvest of Empire" by Juan Gonzalez, "Hypothyroidism, The Unsuspected Illness" by Dr. Broda Barnes, "The Death of Money" by James Rickards. "Plague", by Judy Mikovits, PHD and Kent Heckenlively, fits in this list of necessary books. They all shed light on what is going on. I studied Chemistry and Biology in College. All the things I have studied, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Toxicology, Immunology, Neurobiology, Organic Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Neurobiology, Pharmacology, Human Health and Nutrition, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Infectious Diseases, and Virology, have place me in a position to really appreciate the work Judy Mikovits has done. That she could write it, after all the horrible, illegal, dishonest, and so very stressful things that people in power, did to her, just because she was honest about revealing the truth of what she was finding, is astounding! The Foreward; "A Disease Able to Affect the Economies of Nations", by Hillary Johnson, says it well. Dr. Mikovits found, using rigorous scientific method, first class and up to date, state of the art, laboratory techniques, a fresh man-made virus. She identified and characterized the virus using a lot of various techniques, including genetic analysis, antibody tests, chemical analysis, and even got a picture of the virus budding out of an infected cell. She found this fresh virus in the blood of patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and kids with Autism. She and other scientists found this virus in the blood of the "Well" Human population, and estimated that between 10-25 million Americans are presently infected with it. What is this virus? She calls it "XMRV like Virus". What does that mean? X stands for Xenotropic. That means "manmade and living". M stands for Murine Leukemia Virus, as it is found in mice, both wild mice and laboratory mice, of the kind that are used to create human vaccines and do virology experiments with. R stands for "Retrovirus" which is the family of viruses that HIV is one of. V stands for virus. Now, here's the necessary thing in her description, "XMRV-like Virus". The necessary thing to understand about retroviruses is that they mutate and change rapidly. Retroviruses invade the DNA of living cells, insert themselves into it, change it, and take over the controls of what the cell makes. Then they use the cell DNA/RNA to create more of themselves, using all the resources of the cell, which kills the cell, then they burst out of the cell, multiplied to spread through the host's body, via the bloodstream, and infect more cells in different tissues. When the XMRV-like virus gets into a fresh host, like a human or a monkey, it can be found in the blood, for a while. Then it disappears from the blood, by invading some tissues, like white blood cells, goes latent, and waits until the cells in that tissue begin dividing, to wake up and grow. What can wake up such a latent virus hiding in a white blood cell? Mikovits describes how a stimulation to the immune system, from a vaccination will do it! Other infectious antigens, like a viral infection would also stimulate white blood cells to multiply, and wake a latent virus. Could this explain Autism suddenly appearing in kids after a vaccination? Could the virus be latent in their white blood cells, then it gets turned on, by a vaccine, and replicates, and then infects the nervous system, and other body parts? Judy Mikovits documents how this happens in monkeys. Could it happen in Humans, too? I don't see why is known that there are certain parts of the body, that certain viruses, have an affinity for. The Mouse Leukemia Virus, MLV infects the white blood cells of mice, the "leukocytes", and causes them to replicate out of control, causing a cancer called "Leukemia". HIV has an affinity for White Blood Cells, too, the Helper T-Cells. Helper T-Cells are the go-getters of our immune system. They are active in destroying invading organisms, bacteria, viruses, parasites, and even cancerous cells, anything that sets off the alarm, that "this is not us", Helper T-cells destroy , and call in more immune cells to war it. AIDS is caused when HIV invades and destroys the Helper T-Cells. Without Helper T-cells, a person can't war off invading organisms and AIDS victims obtain all kinds of infections and rare cancers. Now, this fresh XMRV-like virus, is a strain of mutant viruses, that are like MRV, but because they are mutating with each replication, they are changing into a swarm of viruses, each various and changing, all the time. So, it is not one species of virus, it is many, closely related, but continually morphing, viruses. Dr. Mikovits found that the XMRV invades and kills another kind of white blood cell, the "Suppressor T-cells". They are also called "Regulatory T-cells". That is because they regulate and balance the immune system. Without the Suppressor T-cells, to stop the immune attack when the invaders are finished off, the other immune cells hold attacking and secreting messenger chemicals called cytokines and chemokines, which call in more white blood cells, macrophages, assassin T-cells, and the immune attack continues and grows, along with inflammation. The Suppressor T-cells are required to stop the attack when the battle is over, when the is invader destroyed! Without the Suppressor T-cells the "attack" side of the immune system goes wild and destroys "Self" as well as "not self invaders". This is called a "Cytokine Storm", and also called "immune dysregulation". This is one of the most damaging parts of XMRV infection. It is also called an autoimmune attack. [email protected]#$%! on the chance of Autoimmune Thyroiditis being caused by such an attack. It would be logical to look for XMRV in biopsied thyroid tissue in patients with Autoimmune Thyroiditis. Perhaps, MS and other autoimmune diseases like Rheumatiod Arthritis might be caused by such a virus? Now, here's the really scarey part. Xenotropic, means man-made and living? How could that happen? Well, it turns out that to create vaccine, a human virus like polio is injected into a mouse, then infected tissue or blood is removed from the infected mouse, then that is injected into more mice, a lot of times, and then into a monkey. Then if the monkey doesn't die, and antibodies are created to the original human virus, then that's a possible vaccine. Next they try it on Human subjects. But, what if the vaccine has something in it that is alive, unsuspected, unseen, unknown, unidentified, new, man-made, a hybrid virus? What if some vaccines have been contaminated with this XMRV-like virus? What if this happened back in the 1980"s when the disease described as ME/CFS first appeared in the Lake Tahoe area? What if this XMRV-like virus got into the MMR vaccine or others, back in the 80's? What if it is spreading in the population, through contact with saliva, bodily fluids, blood transfusions, could it be airborne? These are the possibilities that Judy Mikovits realized, and brings up in her book. This is important! Her book reads like a murder mystery, following the clues, examining the evidence, following all the leads, piecing together the picture, slowly, using modern laboratory techniques. It's really amazing scientific reading! The family of Retroviruses are all related. It would be quite simple for a Human retrovirus like HIV, injected into a mouse, to combine with a mouse retrovirus MRV, to form a hybrid Human/mouse retrovirus, that would live, reproduce, and be contagious. It could spread to other human and mouse tissue cultures in the laboratory, as Dr. Mikovits documented that XMRV does. Could this fresh "Xenotropic" virus infect man, and spread. Has it already? That would be very serious! Dr. Mikovits realized it. She showed how it spreads, raised the alarm, described the tissues so infected, along with the methods of transmission, and characterized the symptoms of the disease it causes, ME/CFS and Autism. This is a Huge Deal!So why did the CDC test to deny, discredit, and cover up her work? What do they do at the Center for Disease Control? They send people around the globe to search infectious diseases, collect specimens of the causative agents, like H1N1, SARS, HIV, and bring them back to the CDC labs, alive. Then they culture them. That is grow them, so they can study them and create vaccines from them. What if something got away from them? It has happened before. Remember Reston virus, "The Hot Zone"? Well, back in the 1980's the technology to identify such viruses was not so advanced as it is today. They didn't have genomic sequencing and PCR. Viruses and Micoplasma cannot be seen with a light microscope. They are too small. Viruses and Micoplasma cannot be filtered out of blood, plasma and vaccine, with the filters they had back then, and only barely with the fresh technology we have today. So, what if something they made, but couldn't see, while trying to create vaccines, like XMRV, escaped the laboratory, or Heaven forbid, got into the vaccines, and was vaccinated into millions of American children? Could it be possible? I think an investigation is warranted. Since, the CDC is trying to hide what Dr. Mikovits found, then we cannot depend on the CDC to conduct an investigation. It might lead to a HUGE problem, lawsuits, civil and perhaps criminal. I mean, if you knew that something you gave the public, to vaccinate the kids was contaminated, and people were injured, like with Autism, and ME/CFS, well.... Class action Law suits would come forth. The CDC just makes the vaccine starter material. The huge Pharma companies create the actual vaccines. Who's liable here? It depends on who knew what. Was someone negligent? Who can you trust? What can you trust? Doctors? The CDC? Vaccines?Or, in another more sinister vein, did something escape from a US military "Germ Warfare" lab? The US military has experimented on uninformed American citizens, before. Or could it have come from somewhere else? This is possible. It would be so simple to create such a hybrid virus. Any amazing bio-chemistry lab could do it.Whatever, the cause, we still have a Large problem. Millions of people in America and globe wide, are infected with a fresh man-made virus. Autism is striking one in fifty kids in the US, now. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome still has no treatment or cure. I know people who have it. They suffer terribly. Neither does Autism have a cure or where do we go from here? If enough people read this book, and give it to their doctors, and give it to University Professors, and talk about it with their mates and family, and write letters to the editors, and write book reviews, and post on facebook, and go on talk shows, and write and call your senators and congressmen, the story will obtain out. Call for an investigation! If a class action lawsuit were to come forward, a sharp legal squad could subpoena all the files of virus research and vaccine programs done at the CDC during the 1980'-90's. Then, hire Dr. Mikovits to place together a World-Class research squad to look over the research files. She knows what she is doing! Obtain access to the stored cultures both viral and tissue, frozen, at the CDC, and use modern techniques to look for the XMRV-like virus in the vaccines and viral cultures. They hold all this items frozen, so it is still there, and alive. Subpoena the emails and internal documents at the CDC. Follow the leads. There may be other federal agencies involved? Perhaps the pharmaceutical companies will be found to be complicit? I can tell you one thing, if this story gets out, people won't be getting their kids vaccinated, or taking the flu shot. Until this all gets investigated and the Truth comes out nobody will trust the government, the doctors, or the huge drug companies. The huge pharma companies will lose dozens of money! They'll war it, dirty tricks and all. Congressmen and Senators will obtain lots of campaign contributions. It could obtain ugly. People could obtain hurt. Look what happened to Dr. Judy Mikovits. Without an arrest warrant, she was taken from her home, unlawfully imprisoned, and without a find warrant, her private property was seized, i.e. all the files of her research, and her computers. She was imprisoned with no charges. Then she was sued, while being held in in jail, in another state, illegally, and because she couldn't present up at the out of state court, which was presided over by a Judge Adams, in Reno, Nevada, who was bribed by a $10,000 campaign contribution by Harvey Whitmore, and who was awarded a multimillion dollar default judgment versus Mikovits! I'm not making this items up. She documents it in her book. This gal has balls! She stood up to the scoundrels! Bravo!Harvery Whitmore, a high rolling Nevada developer and political wheeler/dealer, who sued Mikovits, and had her illegally arrested, seized her files and computers, and who also bribed the Judge Adams, with $10,000, was later convicted of making illegal campaign contributions to the Democratic Majority leader, Harry Reid, of Nevada, and was sentenced to two years in jail. Criminal charges were dropped versus Mikovits when the facts of the case became clear to the Nevada District Attorney. But, the legal expenses Mikovits incurred trying to war off Whitmore, left her financially bankrupt! That Judy Mikovits was able to continue her work, give talks internationally, prepare her lectures to the other Public Health Specialists at the NIH, CDC, FDA, and write this book, is a testimony to her determination, strength of character, perseverance, and dedication to this very necessary work. I commend her compassion and her die-hard persistence in helping the people afflicted with this devastating XMRV-like virus in the ME/CFS and Autism communities!I think her lawyers could and should sue the people who perpetrated a well documented injustice on her, and we should support her financially to do so! Some of us believe in Truth and Justice. However, as she documents in her book, the judges and politicians in Nevada are, well shall I say, "they can be influenced by money".As a Health Care Professional and an Educator I think Dr. Judy Mikovits' book "Plague" should be needed reading for all upper level Biology students, Health Sciences Majors, and Medical School students. All Health Care Specialists should read this book. It will support you protect yourself, your family, and your I have been studying the molecular biology of viruses, and what can be done to treat such infections, I will leave you with some practical things you can do to prevent or recover from viral infections. One of the necessary things I have learned is that the amino-acid L-Lysine stops the growth of viruses. Makers of virus culture media are careful to not obtain L-Lysine in it because it is well known that L-Lysine inhibits the growth of viruses. The dosage of L-lysine required to stop a viral infection is 1000mg, three times a day, with meals. Do not be afraid to use more or less as needed. L-lysine is effective versus H1N1, and Herpes simplex. It should be effective versus other viral infections, as well. L-lysine is an essential amino acid. It makes collagen, and is needed to create connective tissue. A dosage of 3000 mg/day is not high. It also relieves anxiety, and improves mood and cognitive function. Athletes like it because it helps build connective tissue like muscle, cartilage, bone, ligaments, and tendons. It also makes more red and white blood cells. It makes you stronger! It is also required to create the elastin in arteries and skin. Animals fed L-lysine grow more muscle tissue and are less susceptible to infections. It is safe and , Oregano oil is antiviral, both taken internally, and used externally. It is effective versus Human papillomavirus, found in plantar warts and other warts. Oregano oil can be applied to a band-aid and place on plantar warts and other warts, daily, for some weeks until the wart disappears. Human papilloma virus is causing a fresh epidemic of oral cancer and warts, as well as genital warts. Oregano oil is strong, it works, and it tastes amazing in juice and tea!Next, Resveratrol cream has been found to be as effective as 5% acyclovir cream on Herpes outbreaks. I expect it to be effective on papilloma viruses, should also know that sugar can disable our mannose binding lectins. They are our first line of defense versus viral invaders. Animals and some plants create mannose binding lectins, which bind to the sugar molecules on the surface of invading micro-organisms, and if you have lots of sugar in your bloodstream, the sugar binds to and disables your mannose binding lectins. Avoid sugar like the plague, and don't give it to a sick patient, IV or otherwise. Sucrose or glucose is always added to viral culture medium to grow viruses. Sugar feeds the virus! Avoid sugar in your diet! Sugar also causes cancers to grow. Maybe that is because often a virus is in the tumor, causing the cancer. XMRV was first found in Human prostate cancer cells!Another amazing antiviral herb is Andrographis paniculata. It has been used in India and China for thousands of years, and is strongly antiviral. It also helps to alleviate the inflammation in the "Cytokine Storm" which is so devastating to virus infected ere is a book I recommend, "Herbal Antivirals, Natural Remedies for Emerging and Resistant Viral Infections", by Stephen Buhner. Plants have been developing chemicals to war off invading organisms like viruses, bacteria, and fungi, for millions of years. We can use such plant medicines to heal humans and animals. It works! This book describes how viruses infect humans, how to strengthen the immune system, and has treatment protocols using the most potent natural antiviral herbs. Buhner is quite advanced in his understanding of virology and plant chemistry. I highly recommend it for health care specialists and the general public. There are not a lot of drugs that are effective versus viruses. But, there are a lot of herbs that are. Most medicines were first discovered in plants. One such antiviral plant which Dr. James Duke, in his book "The Green Pharmacy", recommends, is Lemon Balm, Melissa officinalis. It is in the mint family, along with Oregano. It tastes delicious, and as all the mints do, has powerful antiviral constituents. You can drink it in tea, take it in capsules, or tincture the leaves and stems, and take the extract.Another thing that is necessary is to have a diet rich in the nutrient minerals zinc, copper, and manganese. These minerals are required for proper immune system function. A deficiency weakens the immune system and predisposes one to stly, I recommend you research the things I have recommended. Use the internet, look up L-lysine on Wikipedia. Do a key word find on Andrographis paniculata, and oregano, and how vaccines are made. Follow the clues. Ask your questions, and find for the answers. Tutorial your own education, by what you need to know. Use the vast resources we now have available with the internet. Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-9 18:0

I have waited for this book for well over a year, I read it in three days as I couldn't place it down! So a lot of need to thank Judy Mikovits, PhD, for risking her carrer to war as a scientst should, the war to tell the truth. The ME/CF Community as well as other chronic illnesses owe a lot, to this Scientist. Judy was a twenty year veteran of the National Cancer Institute. She came up with a Retrovirus, not HIV but like HIV in that they are both retroviruses. The Scientific Community did not wish to continue the research that would prove or disprove Dr. Mikovits findings. The CDC probably comes up highest on the list of those who have trashed the victims of those suffering from this disease. As a person who has been active in the ME/CF, Lyme community and other Diseases that affect the Neuro- Endocrine System, I applaud her sacrifice in doing her best to obtain the Scientific Community to listen As someone who watched what the HIV community went through in the early 80's. This was like de'ja'vu quest for an respond but we were dealing with ME/CF and a 21 Century search. The ME/CFCluster outbreaks were first noticed by the public and press in the early eighty's in Incline Village, Nevada. Other Scientist seemed to ignore the pain and suffering of a lot of people who had lead healthy lives until they were sidelined by what a lot of felt was a virus but not enough funds were going into the find for an answer. The book explores Autism and what may very well be the beginning of this disorder; For anyone wanting to learn how science can work for us or versus us, this is a must read; for those suffering from a Chronic difficult to diagnose and treat disease this is a must read. I highly recomment this book!!! Carol Fisch, Retired Microbiology & Stealth Pathogen Research Background.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-9 18:0

The Plague is a well-written documentary of what happened to a sincere researcher who dared to tell the truth. This book, through its discussion of the politics in CFS/ autism research, therefore also makes a solid case for pursuing vaccine reform (in order to create our vaccines safer and free from tampering or malicious design) and the need for greater accountability in research and vaccine manufacturing, and so that more appropriate policymaking can be created around research and vaccines. Without it, we will continue to sustain unnecessary immediate and long term latent hurt to our kids and others. Kent Heckenlively is very keen on justice and truth, and is able to express it in a method that captures the reader's attention. An eye-opening book that is worth sharing with your neighbor and your legislator!

Interesting reading, it's sad to hear the Huge Pharma. Is still running ry interesting story about how scientists are used and their ideas are either worth their weight in gold or must be place to d to see how science is controlled by huge business.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-9 18:0

this stunning book opens the door on a series of medical discoveries that must be read to be believed. The bravery shown by both writers to bring this necessary story to life is incredible. Must-reading for anyone that cares about our future and children's future. Plague is simply stating scientific/proven data: there IS a serious viral cause for a lot of of today's "unknown" illnesses. Whatever the triggering mechanism, its method past time to stop diminishing patients who are suffering with real, not fictional diseases, that have ruined lives. Leaving so a lot of part of the walking dead, tagged as "mentally ill" is no method to treat people who are too weak to support themselves. Demand their voices be heard and obtain support to recover, while ensuring any kid who is a carrier for this virus be evaluated carefully before starting vaccines. there are safe ways to vaccinate. Lets push the medical community for true answers.

This book reads like a thriller. It's a amazing but yet sad, for us the consumers, that there is so much corruption behind the scenes and the cover up that can happen when it is learned vaccines are contaminated. I cannot recommend this book enough. There should be a film created from Dr. Judy Mikovitz experience.

You are a Character in my Heart ! You Never gave up ' Hope', in God's protection and promise .... You Stood in His Truth and Integrity. I am slowly reading this incredicable peice of medical history. What a Brillant piece of writing. You are an inspiration, for so a lot of of us 'sick' (me,35 yrs+) and, for those who may be lost,, with out the feeling of ' Hope'. Shown here is one of the finest examples of 'Hope anf Faith' and ' Inpeciable Science.' Dr Judy and Ken, You both are Bright Light's , for a lot of a lot of suffering from the 'devistation' these illnesses create. Thank you Ken, Dr Judy, for writing such a life altering piece of history and for your real example of Faith, Love, Hope and Charity and best of all, " Integrity " ( if any of my word's are backwards.:) ..it's due to brain hurt )

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-9 18:0

Just finished Plague this morning, it was riveting and hard to place down. It's a very well written book and I enjoyed reading it. The authors did an perfect job of breaking down the science and keeping it very someone who suffers from ME/CFS, and has followed this drama in true life there were pieces of info in the book that I was unaware of that gave me a better understanding of the happenings that took e book was also an emotional experience for me. It brought back memories of when I first read about the discovery of xmrv and how excited I was that we would finally be recognized as "real" patients and would possibly be able to have "real" treatments that would give us our lives back, only to watch the attacks come almost immediately and e authors strongly lay out the case for their continued belief in the involvement of retroviruses in neuro immune h Mikovits and Ruscetti stood tall versus the onslaught of attacks and continue to war for what they believe in and this book further validates that is book helps illuminate the motives of the a lot of participants in this war to determine if a retrovirus is involved in those with neuro-immune e government has been negligent in their dealings with the community and this point is driven home in the book! My hope is that people reading this book will be moved to support bring about effectual change so the suffering of a lot of can be truly alleviated.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-10 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-10 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-10 18:0

Is still running ry interesting story about how scientists are used and their ideas are either worth their weight in gold or must be place to d to see how science is controlled by huge business.

this stunning book opens the door on a series of medical discoveries that must be read to be believed.

OMG....Dr Judy....' They ' place you and David, through so very much, all in the name of the so-called almighty buck and risking a lot of people's, family's life's.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-10 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

I want I could honestly join in the praise given by all the 5 star reviewers, but a amazing book requires more than a good, or in this case a amazing story. AND THIS IS A GREAT STORY. As an objective reader I can only assume that the generally high ratings for this book reflect people's enthusiasm for the subject, which I must admit to sharing. But enthusiasm for a topic, at least in my opinion, doesn't excuse and can't overcome a poorly organized and confusing effort such as Mr. Heckenlively's book. There are a lot of cases where a chronological exposition isn't necessary, but it's probably safe to generalize that when explaining scientific procedures and controversies or lawsuits and the legal problems contained in them a chronological presentation of the facts would seem to be the best option. The author, unfortunately as I see it, disagrees, so this story which revolves around paradigm shifting scientific findings and a closely similar legal saga which occurred over a five year time span are presented independent of a time line. In fact, the legal storyline is seemingly resolved a small over halfway into the book, whereupon the author returns to discussing scientific research that occurred over two years e effect is a frustrating read, created doubly frustrating when compared to Hillary Johnson's 1996 book "Osler's Web", which is in my view the precursor to the story told in this book. In fact, Johnson wrote the introduction for this book, which served to enhance my impression that "Plague" became more tedious as it must be given to the author however for presenting unfamiliar (at least to me) concepts relating to the various types of viruses and the manner in which they are studied in a method that should be understandable to most readers. And though the legal concepts covered aren't as arcane, he again clarifies the problems so they can be easily understood by the reader. Another point worth noting is that Heckenlively never comes across as trenchant or shrill, which is admirable given the topic matter. After all, when telling a story which requires detailing the private politics and corruption inherent in government funded research, the misogyny of the medical establishment, and abuse of power on a lot of levels, it must be difficult to remain as objective as the author does here.Even though I can't rate this book the 5 stars that the story deserves because of the back and forth, I strongly recommend that everyone read this book. Like "Osler's Web", it serves as a warning that you can't afford to blindly trust the government, the experts, or even the recent science. And if like me you or someone you know has been affected by a neurocognitive disease you'll perhaps be encouraged that some progress is being created towards understanding and effectively treating MS, CFS, Autism, Post Lyme Disease, and other debilitating conditions.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

I first heard about dr. Judy, somewhere on Fb in a video I believe it was done in Ireland or maybe Scotland. When I went to my doctors I asked them instantly for Ampligen, or an antiviral, as I do present up positive with CSF,EBV or at least a try for XMRV. Of course I was denied! I believe every word that was written in this book. Scientist like a lot of doctors I have worked with like to place themselves versus each other! After suffering since 1976, with documentation on fibromyalgia syndrome, and military doctors earlier telling me I had a connective tissue disease but they did not know what caused l I have been offered is pain management, and psychological help. That does not address what caused this, or why aren't more people looking for an respond to this condition? I believe because it was primarily a female disease. I have later learned over the years it is genetically passed as my son has it. My sister had it severely and could not take the pain and she committed suicide in 2008. I had at least four Aunts with this also..Dr Judy Mikovits is a hero.. she has stood up versus NIH, CDC and I'm sure other government officials that hold denying my condition could have possibly been viral. It is rare to hear a doctor become this punished such as he has, without being able to be on the Internet or social media? And stripped of all their license, and their prior work? You have to ask yourself what is wrong with that picture! It takes a lot to take doctors licenses, and pretend the research does not exist!I believe she should be reinstated instantly to her work with patients and in labs she did nothing other than to show the truth, as she saw it, and as other doctors have seen it since the early 1980s. Shame shame shame on the NIH and CDC, and the other doctors doing research that do know the s funny even doctors .. after I have work with them for over 20years.. with all their degrees, diplomas and unique locations of expertise... they are not God. The doctors that were involved was causing hurt academically and professionally to dr. Judy Mikovits ARE.. one day going to have to stand before God Almighty and explain why they continued to allow us be this sick .. I would not wish to be in their shoes! Cash is not going to buy them aseat in Heaven...they have place us in a lifetime of Holocaust.

Interesting reading, it's sad to hear the Huge Pharma. Is still running ry interesting story about how scientists are used and their ideas are either worth their weight in gold or must be place to d to see how science is controlled by huge business.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

This is an awesome book. I applaud Dr. Judy Mikovits's courage and her unstinting efforts to support individuals with ME/CFS. One thing I really like about her is that she actually listens to her patients, and their families, unlike so a lot of doctors and scientists. She also deeply cares, which is a rare and precious thing. There are exceptions, of course, but I have wondered why the scientific community as a whole seems lacking in empathy for those who actually suffer from diseases. The possible connections between ME/CFS, XMRV, and autism are intriguing and worthy of further research. Co-author Kent Heckenlively does an perfect job of making the science understandable to a lay person such as myself. I learned a lot about the biases in "big science" and the implications are scary. The final chapter poses a very necessary question "whether any strong group should be 'self-policing' without significant oversight from independent bodies." It's simple to become trapped in tunnel vision, which is why I think that it is always a amazing idea to take a step back, look at the huge picture, and ask probing questions. Too often, this doesn't happen, which is why it is necessary for everyone to read books like this.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-11 18:0

Not enough people are questioning the current pandemic of emerging degenerative disease. What is causing such an influx of autoimmune disease, various cancers, Autism, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ALS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, thyroid problems, Multiple Sclerosis, allergies…etc.? When I was a kid in the 50s, it was a rare person who was afflicted with allergies or a chronic illness. Now these diseases are commonplace and it’s almost as if they are being accepted as normal! Well….. this far-reaching plague of chronic illness is far from normal and we had better figure out the causes before the human race becomes extinct. This may not be an exaggeration. Here is a quote from Hillary Johnson who wrote Osler’s Web and the forward to “Plague”. “Any collective memory of just how suddenly and aggressively this disease (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or CFS) emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s, especially in huge coastal cities like fresh York, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, recedes with each passing year. Anyone born after, say 1985 or 1990 will be unable to recall a period in their own lives when this scourge was virtually unknown.”Diet plays a definite role in determining our health. Chemicals in the environment also factor into the equation….. and…. let’s not forget about genetically modified foods. However, the one main zone that is basically being overlooked is the role that microbes are playing in the world’s quick deteriorating health. Our medical system does not focus on prevention or cures (despite the claim of all disease charities). Do you know of ANY disease charity that has found a cure for “their” disease? I haven’t come across any. Finding and treating causes of disease is not in the best interest of the medical system. The medical industry profits from chronic illness, not in curing it. This is why we only have drugs that treat the symptoms of disease while the true causes progress under the e fresh book “Plague” by Kent Heckenlively and Judy Mikovits may keep some of the answers to these crucial issues. Dr. Judy Mikovits was a respected and prominent molecular biologist who began her career researching cancer. As her research evolved, Mikovits discovered a retrovirus, named XMRV (xenotropic murine leukemia similar virus), in much of the chronic illness population. XMRV has also been widely found in prostate cancer. This is a startling and necessary discovery. You would think there would be much discussion and research taking put so that a cure for these chronic illnesses could be found and implemented. Instead Dr. Mikovits’s research has been minimized, discredited and basically e primary theme of the book “Plague” centers on Judy’s discovery, her work with the chronic illness population, her job at the Whittemore Peterson Institute, her undeserved dismissal and arrest…and the discrediting of her necessary work. Money, power and vested interests appear to have fueled these actions versus Mikovits. People whom she trusted turned versus her. However, Mikovits will not be silenced, which is why she and Kent wrote this groundbreaking book. More and more people will be standing beside her as they realize the criminal activity taking put within our government health agencies, which are covertly funded by the drug e main argument of the scientific community…which formed the basis for the discrediting of Mikovits’s work, was that other scientists could not replicate her work and therefore it was falsely determined that her findings of XMRV in much of the chronic illness population, was due to lab contamination. However, one of the reasons scientists could not duplicate Mikovits’s findings was because they did not follow her protocols. Was this intentional? Mikovits also wrote a paper detailing the reasons why her XMRV findings were not due to lab contamination.I was particularly interested in one of Mikovits’s research discoveries. Here is a quote from page 172 and 173, which shares this discovery. “ It’s a easy retrovirus, which means its expression, the on and off switch, is controlled by just –-- and we’ve learned this --- it’s unpublished data, by just three things. The response to hormones and the response to inflammatory cytokines. It’s called NF Kappa B element. Cortisol, which is the stress hormone, turns on the virus very rapidly, and continues to have it expressed. So do inflammatory happenings as caused by other pathogens. And so do hormones like androgens and progesterone, which also create sense with regard to prostate cancer.” I found it extremely interesting that CFS Patients and Lyme disease patients (who also harbor the XMRV virus) often become weaker and sicker when exposed to stress (which releases cortisol, which turns on the virus). The stress can be exercise, concentrated thinking, change in temperature, etc. This may be proof that CFS and “Chronic Lyme Disease” are not just a effect of a “weak or malingering personality”, as some so-called experts on CFS nt Heckenlively does a superb job of weaving together the a lot of necessary elements in Mikovits’s riveting story of her suppressed efforts to share her necessary research findings concerning XMRV. Mikovits is calling for more honesty and openness in the scientific research community. How can we progress in finding causes of the rapidly increasing number of illnesses if only profitable research is allowed? Do we need to privately fund researchers to create sure we can investigate root causes instead of just looking for ways to come up with partial or false causes where only symptomatic treatments are offered? Here are some of the problems that need addressing with further research.1. How is XMRV transmitted?2. More true research is required into what turns XMRV on3. Is XMRV a main cause of our emerging degenerative diseases, could it work in collaboration with other bacteria and viruses, and/or is one of its main functions to turn off the immune system?Until scientists are funded for looking into true root causes of disease, we are going to continue to experience a large increase in disability and mortality. This book needs to be widely read to increase awareness and interest in the XMRV virus. “Plague” includes some technical info which I feel is important in order to obtain across the seriousness of this issue…. but it does not affect the readability for the average person. This book includes all the elements of suspense, corruption, betrayal, fearlessness, and is a definite page-turner. Let’s all come together to help Judy Mikovits in her quest for honesty and openness in scientific research. All of our lives depend on science being implemented for true human progress instead of only for profit. This admonition also holds real for the very people who are complicit in medical corruption. We are ALL affected.

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

Plague: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases review [Book]  2018-2-12 18:0

I am using this book for both private and professional reasons. If you are a parent of an autistic kid a lot of of these things you have discovered already. That being said, if you have just received a diagnosis or are not familiar with autism this is a amazing book to read. It is written in Plain English . The book is organized so that one gets a brief overview of the ten things and then the chapters that follow are more in depth. I like this because it makes for simple reference. I also like the fact that it points out that no one should stereotype anyone.

A copy of this book was sent to me by a friend. I was not really expecting this book. However, upon reading it I thought that it would be amazing to give it to my small nieces after reading; since they would benefit more to know about the challenges of being a kid with Autism. This will give them more empathy towards those who have it, may it be their classmates, mates or family rsonally, I have known people who had that. When I was in high school, I had a classmate who was so amazing in math, but he was diagnosed as someone having autism. It was sad to think about it. However, he thrived anyway. And I think this book will influence people to see that people with autism, despite their challenges, they could still be a amazing contributor in the society.I just have some critic about the things that the author was mentioning in the book. I have read that it would be better to address the bearers of the disorder as people with autism, rather than autistic. Despite that, it seemed that the author did a lot of effort to really create sure that the terms that were used about the disorder were acceptable.I like how the book was written. It was clearly created for small kids. Everything that needs to be generally known about Autism was raised and I believe that this would support youngsters to really empathize to people with is is a amazing read to educate small children.

The paperback that I have received also came with an e-book. It is specifically for Kindle, so the file format was .mobi. I would have preferred .epub, since it goes perfectly with iOS ere was not much difference between the e-book ver and the paperback. The only notable difference was that the e-book is very portable. The paperback ver was nice, but the pictures from the book look more alive with the e-book ntent wise, there was not difference. It is still about autism and all. Maybe I could say that for this one, I would focus on the illustrations.I have seen the other author's works and somehow, the illustrations in this book are definitely pretty. It was so fun to scroll through because somewhat, the illustrations' color are vibrant and all. So I'm thinking that, despite this being an enlightening book for children, I think they would be more focused with the ever, the book speaks very real facts regarding the disorder. And while learning more about it and understanding about it, the children won't be that very bored.

One and One is One review []  2020-1-18 23:2

The Bottom Line: From the heart of the London club stage comes this funky satisfied globe fusion dance album. Amazing stuff, sure to r melody collection is not complete until you add the greatest group to come out of Bangladesh. Joi are the brothers Farook and Haroon Shamsher, natives of Bangladesh and subsequently of England. Although their claim to be "the original Asian breakbeat fusionists" is overstated (Bally Sagoo and Ananda Shankar precede them), they are undeniably original in their interpretation of Asian fusion music."One and One is One" is a mid-tempo electronic album, influenced by the work of Ananda Shankar, British trip-hop, and classical Indian-Bangladeshi music. This is not hard-driving club music, but it is still danceable if you are so inclined. All of it is simple to listen to and obtain into. "Fingers" starts the CD off with a stirring female trance vocal laid over driving percussion spiced with Bengali flute. On the harder side "Massive," "March On" and "Heartbeat" are above average, but still conventional European techno, although "Massive" slips mid-way into an impressive Eastern rift."Mission," "Oh My People" and "India" offer funked up breakbeats reminiscent of Talvin Singh and Thievery Corporation's more world-tinged work. The album also offers a softer side with tracks like "ESY-SHJ" and "Everybody Say Yeah," the type of songs where you break and head for a refill at the bar but still keeps your interest up for more to e highlight of the album though is "Asian Vibes." Downright infectious, this feel-good power pop anthem is pure joy - happy, dancey, and a sure crowd pleaser, thanks mainly to the vocals of Susheela Raman. On the downside, Joi is too repetitious at times, finding a amazing hook but hanging onto it too long. This is a issue chronic in today's electronic dance music. There are also occasional lapses where the group's inexperience shows up in muddy transitions. Still, "One and One is One" is head and shoulders above the vast majority of techno music.

I found "ESY-SHJ" on and loved it, so I checked out the rest of the album. I got more of the same - as in, amazing, melodic, danceable, yet the songs are all special and don't all sound like a repeat of each other. In a word, perfect."Asian Vibes" is truly awesome - attractive vocals and amazing beat. I could have just kept on enjoying them on my playlist, but this album is more than worth spending the $10 on so I can take it with me everywhere!

Had This one on my want list, based on the reviews here. My wife just got it for me, for my birthday. Now I'm wishing she had picked another one. I was expecting to hear more Indian music, but what this has is mostly techno & tabla beats, with sparse melodies and harmonies. It really doesn't give me the kind of exotic flavour I am looking for. Also, all the beats on here are up-tempo, and there is very small dynamic in the music. All this adds up to listenable melody that gets boring fairly quickly. There may be one or two standout tracks on here, but nothing you can really hang your heart on.

Joi's debut album is one of the greatest 'feel good' albums I own. Full of life and body, and wonderfully blended Eastern and Western sounds. One of those albums that just gets better with every listen, every song a classic in its own right.

It's definitely one of the most interesting CDs I have ever bought. I am not much of a Bengal/Indian-Asian style melody lover, but when I heard some tracks at my mates house, it was love at first sight. It's not your ordinary collection of Asian music. Rather it's a collection of SouthEastern Asian Pacific grassland palm-tree tropics and a chaotic jewlery of diverse marketplaces in the heart of a rapidly moving village. It's melody that definitly gives you that smirk the first time you hear it, and it definitly gives you that feeling like you are actually in the center of the journey.

This album is a must for all who have fun Indian Fusion (talvin singh, bill laswell, badmarsh+shri etc)Inshallah there will be another album by joi, by his younger bro..

I have never bought a techno melody album. I always thought that techno melody was souless. But One and One is One is techno melody with soul. I loved its combination of synthesized sounds with that of the human voice and the organic sounds of flute, sitar and other traditional eastern instruments. This fusion of the technological and the traditional, the synthetic and the organic, create this album interesting and exciting to listen to. And man, can you dance to it! I highly recommend it.

So I bought the CD and love it, apart from some songs which mean nothing to me. Unfortunately Haroon died a couple of weeks ago. Will his brother carry on? Hope so... anyway... buy this record and dream listening to Fingers

Finding Freedom: Escaping from the Prison of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome review []  2019-12-19 19:21

As a person whose CFS is classified as severe or severe/moderate, I came to this book expecting to cherry pick, not to absorb it whole-cloth. And that's definitely what I've done, and what I recommend you do as of the challenges of an illness that has no biomarker is that we don't know if all of us who are diagnosed with ME/CFS have the same illness, or if we perhaps have very various illnesses or various subtypes. In addition, we all have various ing Agle's experiences of backpacking in Asia as an escape while having CFS/ME absolutely boggled my mind. There was small to nothing here that I could relate to, and not a lot of confidence that anything she shared would apply to me unless I'd already proved it out myself, with my own body and severity. However, like I said, I was here to cherry pick, so I read quickly through to the actual hints which are later in the s, there may be some amazing things here. I'd say to exercise quite a bit of caution though - Agle recommends things that worked for her without discussing how they have been shown to affect ME/CFS sufferers in general. That is, this is a private acc and at times, not much more than r example, Agle recommends hot baths, which support me and at least one other sufferer I've spoken to, but long experience in ME/CFS groups has shown me that the vast majority of sufferers experience increased symptoms, sometimes drastically so. I am in fact in the very little minority who is helped by hot baths, as is Agle (though that is one reason I pay attention to Agle, as we may share biochemical similarities.)Deep tissue massage is recommended without caveat, but this can easily cause PEM to someone who's moderate or severe (Include me here.). Before you read, you must know your items so that you know which of the treatments she recommends are more likely to hurt than support you, if you are the average sufferer. For that, I'd recommend spending time in CFS/ME groups, especially moderate/severe groups if that fits closing, if you're not mildly affected, this book may strike you the same method it struck me -- as the opposite of an ah-ha moment if such a thing exists. The idea of fasting and then taking a nice stroll generated a kind of internal explosion of laughter that was not entirely is book might give you a gem or two, and I applaud Agle's work to support people. However, be well-educated by a lot of sources, not just this one.

Finding Freedom: Escaping from the Prison of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome review []  2019-12-19 19:21

I couldn’t be happier that I found this book! It’s so beautifully written that every page truly is a joy to read. The first part of the book reads like a memoir and is such a bonus to read for anyone who’s faced health challenges. Her story is so moving, inspiring, and entertaining. What a amazing combination! (I laughed out loud more times than I can count!) Readers with chronic illness will be able to relate to so much of her story - from her years spent on a seemingly fruitless quest for answers to the desperation in her willingness to test virtually anything to regain her health and obtain her full life back. But just as valuable is the second part of the book where she spells out what the time wasters were during her attempts to obtain well and what things finally got her FULLY RECOVERED from ME/CFS. She fully appreciates that healing is a special process and that everything that worked for her might not work for everyone else, but there are just so a lot of healing gems in this book that it gives readers so a lot of options to consider. And although this book is definitely tailored for ME/CFS recovery, there really is something in this book for everyone. If someone you care about struggles with chronic illness, this book will paint a picture for you of what that experience actually looks and feels like. And the healing tactics outlined in this book have so much potential to support ANYONE improve their health. There are also so a lot of concrete tactics outlined in this book on how to live a happier and more carefree life. I took something away from every single chapter, and it’s just so rare to search this in a book.I really can’t recommend this book enough and I know that this book can do so much amazing for so a lot of people. I really hope a lot of others have the opportunity to read this and be inspired and search hope from this story just as I did!

Any idea I have of autism, Asperger’s syndrome, etc. come from watching movies. Just recently I met one of my old friends, whose son was suffering from this problem, Asperger’s.I am glad I decided to check out what amazon has got instead of just searching the internet. I didn’t wish any large medical terms and such things nor did I wish to end up confused with too much info; I just wanted to understand THIS! I genuinely thank the writer with all my heart for making this info available to people. What the films present relating to autism entertains us, it did me (sadly). But I now manage to grasp my friend’s worry with much, much empathy. The author’s portrayal of her life with Kendall and her regrets really had me feeling for her as well. I think more than us, the person with Asperger’s suffers.

One of my closest female mates works as a psychologist, and I was really sure that this book would be a amazing addition to her usual reading. Since ever, Autism has been such a taboo topic to treat but, for her, in her duties, it is a normal thing to treat patients with this disorder. I bought this book in a unique Amazon’s promotion thinking about her, and that it could be so useful for her work. She has told me that this is a very detailed and complete book, with some examples of true situations and a lot of tips written to support people treat this disorder with responsibility and confidence.

It is a amazing book if you wish to know whether you are suffering from Autism or you have a kid who behaves in an abnormal way. I am glad that the book jumps right to the hints section. Following the second chapter, you'll learn to handle Asperger's syndrome. Through this book, the difference between Autism and Asperger's syndrome did not become not clear. The author clearly gives hints and ideas for dealing with Asperger's syndrome. A lot of listed ideas work as I have seen them working with my neighbor's son. Still, I am a small confused with the difference between Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, and Autism.

I have autism/aspergers syndrome, as well as ADHD. I have done a lot of research on both conditions in an effort to understand it. Although this book does have some info correct, some of it is old, out-dated info that is no longer correct, such as the fact that those with Aspergers don't have any development delays. Some do. That is another problem I found with this book-the large generalizations created that people may think of as real for all those with Aspergers. Everyone is various and no two are e info on ADHD was more accurate, which is why I didn't give this book a one star.I a m disappointed because I had hoped that the title would be truthful and actually have useful info on understanding those with Aspergers, ADHD, and unique needs. First of all, only the first two subjects were mentioned. Secondly,.it appears as though the author doesn't really have private experience in these locations and just looked up the information. There are better ways of helping someone with these "problems" and better ways to accurately tell readers in a method they could l in all, I felt allow down and disappointed. I had to wonder why the person published this in the first put and why more time and effort wasn't place into it.

I gave five stars for Ortleb's courage to tell the truth despite the consequences. It's clear most people can't handle the truth, especially if it interferes with profit or image. The questions and allegations raised in this book have yet to be answered. Millions of people are still suffering. The CDC and NIH are still playing politics with people's lives. I recommend this book to anyone with a chronic illness, or anyone who has loved one with a chronic illness. Take your life into your own hands. Obtain and stay informed. Our government and its bureaucrats is not looking out for us.

His courageous decision to create his newspaper the journal of record in the middle of a tsunami of horrifying happenings will secure his put in history. But he didn’t stop with AIDS. When Chronic Fatigue Syndrome began to appear he immediately recognized that it was no coincidence that it broke out at the same time as AIDS. This page turner of a history makes one think deeply about the politics of science and public health. Ortleb has done a amazing public service by taking us on this dark journey. And he never loses his sense of humor in the face of this multi decade war for the truth.

Utter nonsense.Up to 100% of the population are exposed (seropositive) to the HHV-6 virus -- which Ortleb claims is the cause of CFS -- mostly by 3 years of age, yet less then 2% of the US population has "CFS".Correlation doesn't equal causation. It's that simple.

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Epidemic Cover-up: How a Little Newspaper Solved the Biggest Scientific and Political Mystery of Our Time review []  2019-12-30 19:11

Conscientiously researched and elegantly written, this acc by Charles Ortleb of the evolution of the AIDS epidemic from 1981 through 1997 is full of compassion and hope as well as eye-openers on the evil shenanigans of drug companies like Burroughs-Wellcome and the banally criminal managers/scientists leading the CDC. Although the book weighs in at 466 pages, I couldn't stop reading, and felt deeply disappointed when I finished the book, which ends at 1997, the year that the Fresh York Native newspaper closed its doors. On the book's final page Ortleb writes, "The surprising developments that occurred during the two decades following the demise of the Fresh York Native (including the nation-destroying epidemic of HHV-6-related autism), are stories for another day." Ortleb really should write the rest of the story. I stopped reading for some mins to track down the availability of the drugs Ampligen and Nexavir (formerly called Kutapressin), both shown to be highly effective at suppressing the HHV-6A/B viruses which seem to do the most hurt in both AIDS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Yet the one drug (Ampligen) is still not approved for use in the US after over 20 years, though available in Canada, while the other is manufactured only by a single company in Texas and seemingly ignored. The odd fate of these potentially highly-beneficial drugs is a direct effect of the "tissue of lies" woven by the CDC and the National Institutes of Health regarding HIV, the HIV test, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The lies, in an heroic effort by Ortleb and his staff writers Neenyah Ostrum (on CFS) and John Lauritsen (on AZT), are lucidly and with amazing care documented in this book. I bought the Kindle edition if the book; it was probably the best $10 I have ever spent.

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Epidemic Cover-up: How a Little Newspaper Solved the Biggest Scientific and Political Mystery of Our Time review []  2019-12-30 19:11

Ortleb's courageous and tireless investigative journalism (starting with his work as publisher @ NY Native Newspaper in the 1980s) is second-to-none. As a NON HIV AIDS patient myself (ICD-coded "CFS," where the government hides millions of NON HIV AIDS cases like mine in plain sight), it remains clear that Ortleb is scientifically, well-researched in the field of CFS/AIDS, and understands this catastrophic pandemic from its inception. BEST EXPLAINED --> HIV is an innocent passenger in a hi-jacked car. You cannot deny its presence, but HIV wasn't "the cause" of the crime. The reason why most HIV+ people remain perfectly healthy, FOR DECADES, is because HIV (by standard textbook definition) requires a *co-factor* to accelerate it. These co-factors of AIDS are the very same undiagnosed causes of CFS. MEANING: AIDS patients are simply the undiagnosed CFS patients of the otherwise perfectly healthy HIV+ population. In other words, AIDS = HIV + CFS. Once again, Ortleb pushes the envelope with "CFS Epidemic Cover-up" --- moving humanity forward. Pure brilliance... Be sure to read his other fresh book: "TRUTH TO POWER" (also available on Amazon). Google "NON HIV AIDS" and/or "CFS STRAIGHT TALK"

Health is such a broad subject with so much to learn and try. I really appreciated Healthy Habits because it went over some hints for keeping yourself healthy that are outside the box of specific diet hints or exercise plans. The book covers a lot of info of various deceases such as in your Gut Health, Sugar Addiction, and IBS which I thought was really insightful. I know I need to create a bigger effort to adopt a healthier lifestyle and this book has given me a lot of ideas on changes to create and things to begin doing. Reading this book, you realize that you can begin improving your lifestyle as of this moment, there's no reason to wait. It was a amazing wake-up call for me.

Apparently. this book is well-researched. The discussion about the predominantly microbial-related gut disorders like SIBO and IBS is very comprehensive. It has a scientific basis. The clinical treatment of such disorders which contains antibiotics is discussed in this book. Other forms of treatment like herbal and alternative are also presented in this book. In my case, I am more interested in the precautionary measures that could lessen the chances of having such gut disorders. As much as I wish to make a healthy lifestyle, this book is perfect in improving gut health through proper diet and awareness of such disorders.

This book is all about how to combat little intestinal bacterial growth. It explicitly explains this disorder and its causes. The types of medication to war such disorder are presented in this book. There are also certain types of diet that are effective in combating this disorder. All of these have a scientific basis that can be regarded as proven steps or tactics that will support greatly in healing this disease. I consider this book as a precautionary measure. Even if we are not suffering from such disease, this book can offer us substantial measures and tactics to have a healthy gut.

This book has allowed me to have an initial checkup on myself. The contents of the book provided me a lot of insights and guidelines on how to live healthier. Among the forms of diets that this book provided, I would love to test GAPS which I think is very suitable for me who loves soups and vegetables. I also love the fact that it involves mental health. I would only suggest for a briefer and simpler explanations on certain health problems for the readers to understand the info more easily.

Through this book, I was able to understand and learn the little intestinal bacteria overgrowth that I wasn’t aware of before. I was able to learn the causes, symptoms and complications of this condition. And of course, I am satisfied to learn the natural remedies, diet and lifestyle changes on how to heal this. I am always and would always go for the natural remedies.

I found it interesting because I do not have any idea about SIBO. It is interesting because these bacteria might lead to something serious if not given proper attention. This will serve as my reference not just for me but for my kids. As a mother I should be aware of all the bacteria’s that may affect my children. Amazing thing that alternative medicines are stated in this book as cure for SIBO. Even suggested diets were also mentioned in this book.

This injury of mine is a PITA. When my achillies starts to hurt, it can really place a hamper on my miles. I've tried numerous straps and the largest issue is that they all damage the bottom of my foot because my orthotic is hard. So the strap digs in. This one isn't so bad. It actually feels soft, which feels really amazing on my e elasticity support hold my achillies from over extending and thus less pain. I'm rather pleased, and have ordered a second.

Amazing! After injuring tendons in my ankle, I was having problem easily adjusting an ace bandage the same method every time, so I ordered this. I am wearing it right now. It fits like an ace bandage, the Velcro stays in put all day, and it's so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. But best of all, it's so simple to secure I know I am using the same strength every day. It did come with instructions, but is so easy you won't need them. Strong, cute, tough, and yet gentle. I love this and would recommend to anyone in recovery from an ankle injury.

Just like taping but without the hassle and thin enough to fit in all my shoes (even Converse!) This is exactly what I required to obtain my heel stabilized so it could mend probably after a mild sprain.

I used this brace after a broken ankle and it was very helpful. The brace the Dr's office gave me was a large bulky thing that didn't fit in any shoes I owned, so this was a amazing alternative - which the Dr approved. I used it quite a bit and still do when I'm going for long hikes. It's almost as protective as the bulky one I was given and so much more comfortable and easier to place on. It's well created and I've had no problems. Thumbs up!

I don't give 5 star ratings often, but this product deserves it. I like that it is a wide band with a loop to fit securely around your fo as a starting point to wrap. Some ankle braces have been too tight for me and chop off my circulation because they are too tight. This one is adjustable so you can adjust the comfort level.

I've always had weak ankles but then I fractured my fibia right above my ankle a couple of months ago. I spent 8 weeks in a boot then was place in a lace up brace for another month. The lace up brace was comfortable but it was difficult to place on and I definitely couldn't do it in a hurry. I wasn't needed to wear the brace all the time, and not at all if I chose not too, but my ankle felt better with it on. So I found this and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! It can be place on quickly, it fits well and feels comfortable, plus gives that little amount of help that I needed. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who needs full help for an injury, but it's excellent for what I need.

Amazing product for brief use. Unfortunately the design has a flaw, placing a seam exactly over the bony parts of your ankle if wrapped correctly. Amazing stretch, solidly made, just a small off.

I love this . I recently sprained my ankle and this has helped me so much. I was using an ace bandage wrap, too loose not enough help and then I tried a pull on sleeve that chop off my circulation. This is excellent because you can adjust the pressure and wrap it around to suit your needs depending on what your injury is . It has a small stretch to it when you wrap it around. It fits in my shoe a small snug but works in my wider shoes. I am very satisfied and would definitely buy this again if needed. Amazing product.

I had a severe sprain and hated wrapping with a traditional ACE bandage and they just weren't giving me the help that I needed. When the doctor said I was going to need at least another 6 weeks of wearing help on a everyday basis, ACKKK I started searching for what would be simple and supportive.I love this brace. I have a set that I wear to the gym and a set for every day use. The gripping on the inside keeps it from moving around and losing support. The material is thick enough to be supportive but thin enough to wear under most shoes.I liked it so much, I bought a set for my son who constantly has problems with rolling his ankles from old skateboard injuries. He actually wears these! I had bought him several types before and he never wore them because they were uncomfortable with shoes, would slip around or were too difficult to place on.

Both "Love Is Here" and "As You Are", from the classic Pharoah Sanders LP "Love Will Search A Way" are the sole reason I bought this CD. (Alas, the Sanders LP hasn't created it to CD yet, but a 3rd track, also featuring Phyllis, "Everything I Have Is Good", can be found on "Melancholy Fire: The Best Of Norman Connors" CD). These two songs capture a level of skill, imagination and elegance that is obviously missing from most of the other songs on "One On One".Two present tunes from "Sophisticated Ladies" might be of interest to a lot of Hyman fans. Not this one..."Maybe Tommorrow" with Levi Stubbs and "Survivor" with Joe Cocker (especially the later) are decent examples of 80's pop rock-n-soul."Obsession" with Lonnie Smith is a solid, well-crafted song that has withstood the try of time and should appeal to almost anyone.A true surprise search for me was "Remember Who You Are", a classic love ballad that fits Phyllis to a tee. Like several of the songs on this CD I'd never heard this one ree songs are mediocre vault material at best. How did Phyllis obtain roped into the flimsy and tedious "Leavin'The Amazing Life Behind" or the inane "Do Me" for instance?"One On One" is a grab bag of disparate styles and uneven quality, but there are some true finds here for the diehard Phyllis Hyman fan!
