I picked these up to replace an older single ear set that had seen better days. I'm using these on an HP Elite Book 840 with Windows 10 Pro, build 2004 and O365. These were seen right away with no unique configuration needed, they work very well with Citrix Workspace 1911 for Xen Desktop connections with the HDX True Time Media Engine 2.9 using Skype, Squads and Zoom. A solid product.
Amazing! Buy them and you won’t be disappointed! I bought them to have as a backup when my Plantronics bluetooth headset kept going out after 3-4 hours, these work amazing and are comfortable, I just want I had bought them sooner and want they had them in blue.
Decided to splurge a bit and obtain a decent headset for working at home. Didn’t wish to spend a ton of cash but wanted something with amazing quality. I recognized the Plantronics brand from work. I opted to go with these. They are excellent! Clear and concise just like I am in the room with the person.
I use this headset for teleconference calls, and I've been very happy with the quality of the headphones and the mic, as well as how comfortable it feels on my head. I had used a method more expensive headset from a prominent work-headset maker at a previous company, and that one was much too massive on my head, causing me pain after a long call. This one has the same level of quality and is more comfortable to boot.
The one downside to the headset is the comfort level; it could be do to me wearing glasses. After awhile, I have discomfort around the ears. The microphone has excellent sensitivity. I like that I can disconnect from the USB-A adapter and use this with my Samsung Galaxy Note9 as well.
I've worked in technology as a consultant for decades which means I'm on the phone every day for hours and hours. I've burned through countless phones, headsets, ear buds, and headphones making calls with clients, listening to melody while I work, and playing android games after work. My first headset at my current company was a Plantronics headset issued to me in 2005 when I started. I also have a Logitech wireless headset at my desk, several Sennheiser headphones for audio work, a cheap Sades headset for gaming, AirPods for my iPhone, a Bose wireless Bluetooth headset, and a huge collection of EarPods for when my AirPods die which is constantly. My vast preference over all of them is this Plantronics Blackwire USB ght weight, comfortable, high-fidelity audio, positional microphone, plug and play, solid compatibility with Windows 10 Pro and my Surface laptop, well-made command buttons for muting and volume, og jack for use with phones, works amazing when my Surface is on battery, simple to use all day long, doesn't require seamlessly with Zoom, Teams, Spotify, and beautiful much any application out that implements headphone support. I am very satisfied with this headset and I'm sure you will be, too.
This on-ear headset is a decent performer in Squads and Zoom meetings, and sounds beautiful amazing for melody too. The headset can be separated from the USB adapter/remote and used in any other 3.5 mm TRS (headphone) or TRRS (headphone + mic) jack. My only gripe would be the ear pads/cups... they are a small stiff. If your meetings tend to run for hours, you might search yourself wishing for some softer ear pads. Another nice-to-have would be the ability to turn off the sidetone (talkback, echo, feedback) that is provided by the USB remote. I tried to use the headset to create a voice recording. I hear myself through the sidetone, then again a few milliseconds later after the sound is processed by the recorder.
The description here says CS540, yet two vendors have now sent me the CS540A which is the European version. The raw packaging also says CS540 but not the product inside. Plantronics said it will work in the US but will likely interfere with other signals. I still gave it 5 stars because it works terrifically so far and I'm sure the correct model if I can search it, will be perfect. I've never found a headset that is so amazing at muting the sound around you from the caller on the other end. It's comfortable and lightweight. Much better than prior models that included confusing adjustment dials with unknown results as to how it was affecting your audio on the other end. Perhaps the problems the one stars are having is similar to having the European version?
I purchased this headset with the handset lifter to pair with my 2 line Panasonic desk phone. I had used Plantronics headsets in the past and was always pleased. This headset however was not so good. I was constantly told by my callers that I sounded tinny and distorted. I tried every possible setting, used the online audio setup tool and eventually called Plantronics help directly to test to obtain it to sound better. Nothing really helped all that for comfort, this headset is very amazing and battery life is good.I ended up buying a Plantronics Savi 740 Wireless Headset System for Unified Communication instead and immediately my regular callers told me how much clearer and more natural I sounded. So, either my specific CS540 was poor or that model is not good. I can't say which but based on my experience with the CS540 I could not recommend it.
You have to wiggle the headset into the base to obtain it charging properly, though this is potentially an problem with the base. Overall experience with the a lot of of plantronics headsets I help are they are mostly fine, but 1/3 of them have issues. Will likely look into another product in the future.
I’ve been by these Plantronic Bluetooths for some years now, switching models as the fresh ones come out. I only buy the cheaper models, as I tend to lose them quite often. I’ve tried several other brands, however have decided I will only purchase Plantronics from now on, unless the price keeps going upThis model is super simple to use. I’m really surprised that not everyone is using this type device, at least while driving. I give them as bonuses though and they don’t obtain used. I can’t understand why people wish to keep their phone up to their e battery holds a charge for a long time, It charges very quickly, the controls are easy and effective, and the volume is loud and clear. The only problem some might support with this model is that it is not very amazing at noise canceling. In fact, it tends to amplify background voices. So if you’re grinding coffee beans, about to hit something with a hammer, or pull a bunch of dishes out of the dishwasher, you have to warn the person on the other end. Otherwise, they will ask you what the heck you’re up to in an annoyed manner. A minor problem with the product though, as amazing noise canceling costs more.
This line of products has NEVER allow me down. Plantronics continues to lead in the industry with noise reduction and sound. I wear this unit about 8-10 hours a day (I drive for Lyft) and the battery holds all day and all calls are clear. Range is amazing as well (about 30 feet) which is to say I never really walk away from my phone but when I do I can still talk. If you obtain the renewed ver go ahead and purchase with confidence as this is a true quality product!
I got this because I wanted to have one ear free so I can watch my daughter while she is playing and I am on Xbox. My old headphones were fine but very immersive so I couldn't hear her if she talked to me and I didn't like that. I also wanted these for work so I can listen in on a conference call and still hear any conversations around me while I'm on mute without taking the headset is was better than just a one-ear headset because of the skeletal frame that also lets sound come in through the ear that is covered! The quality is very amazing and I love that the 3.5 mm audio connection is an "L" shape instead of straight because that prevents the wires from getting twisted around and breaking inside, which is what happened to my latest headset! The boom mic is also amazing because I have more ability to adjust it as close or far from both my mouth and the earphone as possible, which is necessary for reducing echo with an begin headset like e mute and volume controls are not amazing, but they are adequate and not as cheaply created as other headsets that I have paid more for. I use this with an Xbox chatpad, so I just use the mute/volume buttons on that most of the time e headset is also very comfortable and fits very well. The best part is actually how lightweight it is: it feels like I am not wearing a headset most of the time! The audio is amazing and I haven't had any problems with the mic. If I had to search an problem with it, I would say that any problems with it would be if you bought this for the wrong purpose. If you wish surround sound or an immersive audio experience, you won't obtain any of that with these headphones. However, they are excellent if you wish half of your head immersed and the other half in the true cause I am so impressed with this headset, I'm going to be looking at reviews for some of the higher-end Rig Xbox headsets by Plantronics that cover both ears, for when I'm playing by myself and wish surround sound or an immersive experience. For what I need, these headphones are excellent and I would definitely recommend them!Note: When I bought these, they were not available from Amazon, only 3rd party sellers. I was able to obtain them fresh with free shipping for about $17. You may be able to search what you need in your price range with another headset as I now see them being sold used for $40+ here, but I really like the design and the begin ear headphone, so I would recommend these if you have the same need that I have even if you have to pay a small more.
I was hesitant about buying this headset, based on reviews of the audio volume. I liked the begin earpiece design, so I can hear my surround sound and family, but who cares if you can't hear the chat audio? Because of my history with Plantronics, I went ahead and bought it. I'm glad I did! After a small adjustment of the headband (which is various than other headsets, yet somehow easier) and getting the mic where I wanted it, all I required was to change my audio settings on my Xbox to obtain exactly the sound I wanted. Loud, clear, and comfortable. I wore it for hours with no only complaint is the zone of the inline audio controls. It's a small high for my preference. I rarely use it (mainly mute), so it wasn't worth docking a star.
This headset is not always the most comfortable to wear, but for my purposes it is satisfactory. They seem to latest three or four years before needing replaced for one reason or another. Power surges are not uncommon where I am at, however, and that may play a role. I use this product when I need to not be tethered to my desk (going to storage rooms, ect.) The headset beeps in my ear when my handset is ringing, so it is convenient when background noise would otherwise stop me from hearing the phone ring. The range is very good. Battery life is fine. I end up switching ears often, and this unit would be uncomfortable if I required to wear it non-stop. But I often need to be on the phone when working around the office, and this is excellent for that. I simply take it off when it starts irritating me. I work in a little office where I need to be able to do a dozens of tasks, and this model allows me to do that. The lifter does not work well with my model of phone, however over the years I have learned how to use some double sided tape to "rig" it so is okay. My phone is a Toshiba and the handset did not go back into the cradle correctly on its own. I used double sided tape on my handset to make a put where the lifter could catch, and that fixed the issue.
I wasn't really satisfied with this wireless headset due to the number of times it dropped calls and the amount of static in the headset. I moved it around to hold it away from other power supplies, monitors etc., but it still didn't work that well. Combined with the number of times it dropped calls it created it unusable.I've had amazing luck with Plantronics headsets over the years so I was really surprised and disappointed with the quality of this one. I can't recommend it in amazing faith. I gave it two stars because I think it might work fine in a solopreneur office or a single office phone use but I'm not completely confident of that. Also be careful, the range is severely limited by walls so if you have into an office with several walls between the base and the headset quality degrades to nil quickly.
The headset feels fine, a small too huge for my head but that's normal :)The microphone works fine, no problems e main problem (and reason for 2 stars) is that with the volume all the method up, the sound is so low that I can just barely hear. It's to the point of being useless and I'm going to replace it with another headset. I gave it 2 stars because the Mic works and technically there is sound coming from the headset, so it's not broken.
I bought this to replace my original Xbox One headset when it broke. It works well with my Xbox One and my PC (this headset uses the 3.5mm headphone connector, so it will not connect to early Xbox One controllers that don't have the 3.5mm jack). The headset is beautiful much as described. The audio quality isn't as amazing as some others on the market, but I wasn't looking for a top-notch quality headset, just something easy and single-ear for voice chat. I'd say the audio quality is still better than the stock Xbox One headset, as well as more comfortable.
My husband is a truck driver and this is his first Bluetooth ear piece. He likes it and it works for what he needs it for. It was simple for him to set up and use. The battery lasts a while for him because he only uses a few times a day.
I’ve had several Plantronics Bluetooth headsets and found the performance, battery life and comfort to be amazing and reliable. I never have anyone complain about not being able to hear me clearly on phone calls. I also use it to listen to podcasts and search the sound to be perfectly amazing for that purpose. I have a poor habit of leaving them in pockets of garments that go in the wash. I’ve actually had a couple of troops go though a wash cycle and continue to function just fine, but usually a second or third wash cycle does them in. This remanufactured unit works as well as any brand fresh unit.
This replacement headset works perfectly with our existing system, and it is a unbelievable addition to my office. I have deducted one star because of durability issues. This is the second time I've had to purchase a replacement headset. Each lasts me about a year. The first headset stopped delivering sound through the earpiece. Went through all of Plantronics troubleshooting and they recommended replacing the earpiece (a large thanks to the customer service lady I talked to who recommended ping for it online in order to search a cheaper price). On the second, the small tab that locks the angle of the small ball with the earpiece attached broke off. The headset still works, but I have to readjust it every time I move my head too sharply, and it's beginning to drive me batty.
I've lived in Plantronics headsets for 15 years that had amazing sound, were comfortable all day long, and could be tossed down on a desk with small consequence when a call was over. Their newer line is a disaster on all these fronts. They used to have a nice microphone that sat on the outside of the ear with a cloth cover, but this highly functional and comfortable variant has been discontinued, as verified by direct contact with the manufacturer. On the fresh model, the earpiece options are a bersome over the head clip that could be from the 60's, or an intrusive and uncomfortable ear gel that sticks down into the ear, gets tiring during even a short call, and worst of all, delivers wretched and muffled sound. The button on the back is very sensitive and the ear gel makes the set hint easily, so if you wish to set it down anywhere but it's cradle, you have to carefully balance it on the gel or it flips over, presses its own button, and picks up the phone. I'm sure somebody out there likes this model for some reason because they built it, but it's incomprehensible to me that they discontinued far more functional versions for the rest of us. Utterly incompetent project design.
We are looking to add headsets for our non-profit ministry's call center and required something affordable that will work with a number of various users. This set was super simple to set up and we found lots of reviews and information on YouTube beforehand to respond any questions or concerns we may have had. It works amazing with our Mitel e only thing I want this had was an indicator light to allow others in the office know when we are on the phone because we often work collaboratively. I knew going in this set did not have that feature but realized after the fact that it would be a amazing feature to have in our setting.Would I order the set again or recommend it to others? Absolutely!
I don't very a lot of reviews, but I love these headsets so much that I purchased a second set. I love that they only cover one ear (may not be for everyone), I search them to be very comfortable, and the sound is excellent. I also have found that online players search my sound during chat to be very good.I'm an adult, my son also uses them, and he sometimes yanks out by the cord... after over a year of these they're still going strong. Other headsets have failed quickly when abused like this.
I also use a Hyper X Cloud Stinger but that gets tiresome on my ears for longer gaming sessions so I wanted something less bersome and found these- love them, sound amazing and my gaming buddy also grabbed them and we both agree they sound and feel really nice.
I have little ears like freakishly little apparently since every bluetooth headset I've tried either hurts like hell or just falls off. Enter the plantronics explorer 50, this is the only headset I've been able to wear that stays on and doesn't damage my ears even after a full day of wear. Its so comfortable I've literally forgotten it was in on several occasions. The sound quality is great, people on the other end say it sounds amazing on their end too. The battery life is also beautiful good, I haven't tested to see if it's really 11 hours but it gets me through a day so I'm satisfied with it. I have 2 of these that I bought fresh and this one that is refurbished and I noticed no difference in performance. I would definitely recommend this headset fresh or refurbished.
This device and accompanying phone-lifter are awesome! I have to say, the instructions could have been a bit more thorough but after about 10-15 minutes, the device is working flawlessly. I'm quite impressed with the phone-lifter as I had no idea what to expect re this. I'm using a Cisco model of phone and it easily and reliably lifts the earpiece instantly each time I lift the headset up and place it on my ear. I guess this would also be the case if I kept the headset on my ear between calls and simply clicked the "answer" button. The device is a bit on the high end price wise compared to some of the other companies' products I saw on Amazon but I've used Plantronics with amazing results for many, a lot of years so decided to give this a try. So far, I'm very impressed!
Took me awhile to obtain used to the earpiece, but this has been a shoulder and neck saver for me. The first few weeks at my fresh job, my neck and shoulders ached. I changed my desk ergonomics and added this headset. I like the lifter and the simple use of the product. It is on the pricier side, but worth it. I have used it for the past 4 months.
This is a replacement as I thought I lost my original headset. The only issue is that it does not fit my ear so that the mouthpiece moves away from my mouth and people tend to ask me to repeat what I said as they think they have a poor connection. I have to push the earpiece deep into my ear and then the mouthpiece stays near my mouth. The person on the other end always says it is much better. The downside is that my ear hurts when I do that.
I lost my headset at work and required a replacement. I'm glad that I didn't need to buy the whole pack again. This headset will link to your old base in seconds. I can't live (work) without this wireless headset. The range is phenomenal. I want the battery life was a small longer. It doesn't latest the full 10-12 hours work shift but a fast 20-30 minute charge mid-day will obtain you through. I work in a very busy pharmacy and this headset makes my day. I can multitask while taking to customers on the phone. Don't think, just buy it! Your neck and body will thank you. A must investment for those that constantly needs to be on the phone.
Wow, this thing is awesome. Very lightweight. Speaker is extremely begin back so you can hear everything around you including surround sound from your home theater and the knocking on the door from the pizza guy. Mic is very amazing quality and the volume slider and mic mute switch work great. Using with Xbox one controller with built in headphone port and gaming on PC using Xbox controller adapter. Looks cool too (just want the cord came in PC red instead of Xbox green LOL).
I have a 2, 5, and 7 year old. 7 year old goes to school. 5 year old will next year. 2 year old takes naps and gets into everything because shes exploring and learning life. This head set solves the "listen to android game but also listen to children but also dont wake them" situation. Lol. The wire is also just that right length where it's long enough for the controller but when you need to do something, disconnect from controller and throw it over your shoulder to your back and it's out of the way. Impressively light weight too while still comfy. Whole product is beautiful for the negative, if you're looking for a tournament headset, you may be a bit disappointed... lack of 2 speakers and fully encapsulating both ears... lol this product isnt for you.
Used turtle beach chat headset for years. Now that turtle beach changed the chat headset I dont like the fresh model. These are a amazing replacement. Sound is amazing and love the option for android game play as well as chat. The only thing that would create them excellent is an adjustable head strap that does not need to be taken a part. That method if I share w my son ( 10 ) we dont have to break it apart each time
I love plantronics. It is best headphones for vehicle in the market. I lost my previous plantronics, test various brand but this was not for me. I order this and love. This model work simultanously with 2 phone perfectly.
I own a Plantronics M50 that I used (and loved for it's comfort and sound) for years with my Samsung Galaxy S4, then with my S7, until after a number of software updates to my S7, the M50 began to chop out on media, as if the M50 couldn't hold up or something. So I required a replacement.I first bought a noise-cancelling headset from another manufacturer, but because of its discomfort and poor sound (no treble), I decided to return en, after reading several reviews that the E50 was a "perfect replacement" for the M50, I bought a refurbished E50. Oh, what a attractive pleasure!! The comfort and sound (great treble!) of this E50 are as amazing as (if not better than) my M50, and the E50 doesn't chop out on media!I loved my M50 for as long as it worked with my phone, and I am so happy that this E50 is such a amazing replacement.
So I just got this but I can already tell it's going to be a android game changer. I can now freely move about gathering parts while speaking with my customers. As far as durability and battery life, only time will tell, I will modernize later on. It is very lightweight. Sounds good. Took literally 10 minutes to hook up and begin using...super easy just take your time and watch what you plug where. Range seems amazing too but I haven't tried to use it all the method up front yet and keep a conversation. Exactly what I was looking for. Just had to confirm with Plantronics on what models were compatible w my company's phone system. Delivery was very quick, ordered Monday afternoon...delivered Thursday morning.
I like the fresh headset (I liked the old one just fine too - until the battery just wouldn't charge anymore and I decided to obtain the current model - which has a replaceable battery.) But it goes on the ear a small awkwardly because the ear hook is beautiful stiff, and every once in a while the headset beeps at me as if something is about to happen--but nothing ever does. I am able to continue the call just fine, and it may never beep at me again for the rest of the day. Also, every once in a while my caller can't hear me any more - as if I just hit the mute button (which I didn't because it really can't happen accidentally on this headset.) I haven't figured out any method of getting them back so I just have to hang up and call them back. Plantronics had me restart the headset (by removing the battery for 10 seconds) and we'll see if my issues go away. Apparently it's a very rare issue that usually results in replacing the headset altogether so we'll see how it goes.
I have had 2 of these, they are lightweight, comfortable and have worked very well. I listen to audio books as well as talk on the phone and this headset is my favorite to wear while living my active lifestyle outdoors and raising a family. Battery life is good....I only want they could survive a wash & dry with the laundry. LoL
I purchased this headset in October 2017 looking for a professional earpiece to use for business calls with my Pixel XL. Excited to test it out over both regular phone lines and IP services like Discord, I asked mates how the quality sounded and I was disappointed to hear that "just sounds like you're talking over the phone." EDIT: To be fair, I never tried the "HD sound" option until I was messing with the application trying to fix my call quality problems detailed in 3rd ME PROS: I will say, however, that the noise cancellation has always been excellent. Outside of the work day, I have occasionally used this earpiece connected to my phone with Discord to communicate while playing games. No one could ever hear my controller inputs or external android game SFX, especially while I had melody playing externally in addition. Constant background noise seems to support a lot with the noise cancellation on this thing. I also really liked the ability of this earpiece to connect to multiple devices - it was able to connect to my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 PC and phone simultaneously, everytime, no issue (a feature currently missing from my Sennheiser Momentum Real Wireless buds). For these reasons, I'm tempted to give 2/5 stars, but...For a top-brand, high-end earpiece that I paid $105 for, it's unacceptable for it to have become unusable after only 15 months. Gaming with it now, I've become completely unintelligible, and while trying to troubleshoot it with a friend, I was told that I was coming through, but I sounded like the girl from The Ring. I tried unpairing and reparing, updating the firmware, enabling HD audio, nothing created any difference. At that steep price, I justified my purchase by expecting to be able to use this thing for a long time. To die like it has after 15 months is just sad, I guess it's going in the trash, which I can barely ever doing with my gadgets (usually they just retire to the "old gadgets" drawer). Not going to bother with Plantronics help as I've already tried their suggestions offered in response to other negative reviews, and another reviewer says you have to pay to ship it to them. Screw that, I guess this was just an expensive lesson in discovering another over-rated brand to avoid.
I have had the same M70 earpiece for almost 5 years; it charges quick and holds a charge well, even after all this time. My husband tried several other brands when we couldn't obtain a keep of another one of these (he has a habit of breaking his earpieces on a regular basis), and none of them lasted beyond a few months. Was very satisfied to be able to finally be able to order one of these for him. Our only complaint is that it is not so hot in the method of background noise cancelling. If my husband has the window cracked on the vehicle when he calls on his drive home from work, I can barely create out what he is saying over the sound of the traffic and wind coming in through the window. Same problem when he calls while he is at the store; the overhead PA is extremely loud through the earpiece, as well as any other background noise. He/we did not experience that problem with some of the other earpieces he owned, however, the long run time (11 hours), durability and dependability is what brought us back to Plantronics. In those aspects, they cannot be beat!
I have been using the Plantronics M70 with my different iPhones for about 4 years now.I use it to send and keep calls and texts, and to listen to melody and podcasts in different apps, during my busy has decidedly better sound quality, functionality and durability than any other related product I have tried, and I contain other, more expensive Plantronics Bluetooth dongles in that statement too!The battery life is a real 11 hours, and to-date, I have never run out of battery during a long day even, and if I did, the fact that it takes, I’d say, less than half an hour to charge up to full, is a e sound quality is stupendous for the price. The buttons are well-positioned, simple to use, and this unit interfaces with the iPhone (I’ve used it with 6 plus through 8 plus) better than any other, and easily switches back and forth between itself and other Bluetooth devices I use. Pairing is easy is also comfortable. I have little ears, and the silicone ear insert holds it comfortably in my ear, without having to use the included over-ear bracket as e only negative with this device, which would be real with any related device, is that I’m amazing at losing it or accidentally running it through the laundry because of its little size!Even so, this unit takes a beating, and it takes several times through before it gives up and quits working, so it is beautiful durable and somewhat water resistant too!I have tried several other Bluetooth devices, but have always come back to this one. The sound quality, comfort, and durability are the best I’ve found, especially for the price!Highly recommend, if you use an iPhone.
I liked this so much it is my second one and my wife has one. I am self-employed and this is in my ear just about all day getting sweated on, falling on the ground, dropped in the dirt, and rolling around on the floor in my work truck and has worked for about for 5 years now. Sadly about a month ago I lost it and after beating my head versus the wall trying to figure out what happened to it for about a month now, i decided it was gone and time to obtain another one. It was such a amazing small unit that I bought the same exact one. The first one I bought at wallyworld for more than I paid for it on Amazon. The quality is the same as it was 5 years ago, maybe better. Streams melody very well. So you can listen to melody in one ear and still work and hear other people around you. If you're looking for an inexpensive Bluetooth that works like a very expensive headset, this is the one. Amazon also sells replacement earpieces for these if yours breaks or rips. They are very inexpensive. I can't speak to the amount of time the battery lasts. I do know that I can use it all day and go a few days without having to charge it. When you're not using it it goes into a sleep mode so it doesn't drain the battery. The total talk time is 12 hours once fully charged. The one I had that was 5 years old and never had any problems with the battery getting weak or not holding a charge. You can also from the headset go back a song or go forward a song or play by holding the various earpiece buttons down for a certain amount of time. I believe you can pair this to more than one device. So if you have a work phone and a private phone you can certainly have both phones in your pocket and this Bluetooth manage both phones. I have it paired to two phones myself.
Some background: My husband and I both need headsets (earpieces for work). We've been buying Plantronics since the days when headsets were wired to the phone. We are accustomed to replacing the sets every 18-24 months without a whimper of complaint despite the price tag.I just bought this one for my husband. We were very disappointed to search the magnetic recharging clasp - an accessory from his prior Plantronics Voyager - doesn't work. I also tried it in my Voyager recharging case and that doesn't work either. This old trick of making you buy every accessory each time you replace the headset (or phone or whatever it is) infuriates me. So I am making it part of my review: does the product maintain backward compatibility? The resounding respond is NO!
this one is a dud. it mysteriously cycles off and loses bluetooth connection to my iPhone 7. the phone and the earpiece firmware are uptodate. when i "answer" the phone, it takes two attempts to manually connect to the phone. This one makes the Plantronics Voyager Legend truly a legend. I rue the day that I lost my old Voyager Legend. After this debacle of an earpiece, I ended up ordering another Legend. I need to send this back or do something since this cost more than its predecessor and is beautiful much worthless. it also does not keep a charge very well. about the only amazing thing is that it can be charged by my previous microUSB charging cables and fits around the ear like the Voyager Legend.i've now owned three Voyager Legends. None of then ever broke. I just lost two of them. They worked right out of the box and keep a charge better than the 5200.
Got it today. Had my wife call to test the “answer/ignore” feature. Said “answer” and it said “ignoring call.” Tried it again and same result. Turned off the feature in the cided to respond the call manually. Voice sounds beautiful digitized. I can also hear everything I have said repeat back to me in the earpiece with a short delay. Annoying!Doesn’t really stay in ear very well. It kind of just dangles off the ear. Tried the various sized earbuds to no avail.I’ve used the $28 Explorer for 2 years and love it. Decided to give a nicer ver a try, and I’m disappointed right from the start. Going to give it one more day and will probably send it back unless some magic happens. This is unbelievably unsatisfactory.Edit: okay yeah, I’ve had this for about 8 hours and I’m returning it. What a piece of junk. I rarely ever return anything. I’m not just one of those people who orders things on Amazon and tests them to see if I like them or not. This thing is a piece.
This is a little headset and I like the method it goes on my ear and the ear loop support it feel like it will stay in place. I also like the fact when you turn it on, it tells you how much talk time is remaining. I also like the fact when you are on a call and when you press both volume buttons, it will tell you Mute On/Off. I like the fact it give a low tone as you lower the volume and an high tone when you raze the volume up. It does do a amazing job at blocking out wind to the down is headset doesn't do well at blocking outside noise. As an example, if I'm out walking, people can hear the birds and the like. Also if you are cleaning your hands people can hear the running water very well. They search that bad. If you are lets say cooking some pausta and you are stirring it in a pan, people can hear that very ied connecting this to the Amazon Echo Dot. I found that the Echo dot doesn't use the Bluetooth microphone. But that isn't an problem with the headset, just people should know that. The sound is very amazing for listening to melody from the Echo Dot.
1st off- this pic is after running over my earpiece with a vehicle and it STILL worked after! Immediately ordered another. GREAT PRODUCT. Battery life is great, call quality is great. Sound quality, in terms of melody is not the best (in comparison to plantronics headphones that are designed more for music) BUT not all bluetooth earpieces even let you to control melody from the earpiece, so I don't mind
This headset has a amazing audio quality, it charges quick and lasts long enough for the everyday S: Amazing audio quality for calling and music, it will not fall off easily, it will not move from its position easily, charges fast, looks nice, you can connect two phones, you can use it with apple products (I use it with my MacBook Pro).CONS: It fails to reconnect automatically to the phone if you reset or turn Bluetooth off and back on, it hurts the ear a small bit if you use it for long periods, it doesn't have an simple method to mute/unmute like the Motorola HK250, no instant response to hang up the call (One more point to the Motorola HK250)
updating my review... as of april 29, 2018. I remain committed to my review that there is zero noise cancellation... I use the headset merely as a convenience to not keep my iphone. today talking to someone, they stated they could even hear the crows "cawing" and the crows were atleast 50 meters away!!!... this headset and the others from plantronics that i've bought have all been a waste of money. the sound quality still is horrible and there is no noise suppression! so not sure what to do, but this is definitely not the something worth buying. too poor cant take the review down to zero stars....Ive tried this for - unfortunately - 32 days and now can't return this piece of junk. How anyone can think this works well obviously hasn't tested it and asked people on the other end of the line if they can hear back ground noises... Or else mine is defect... I have tried this sitting next to people, in a bar, at a pool, rustling through an ice bin, walking around. In all cases, the people on the other end could absolutely hear everything. They could clearly hear people and the words they were saying, they could hear bags rustling, ice cubes dropping, people cheering at the pool. So in all cases of near and far noise everything was heard. Sadly I'm stuck with a waste of money.
Delivery was fast, so no complaints to any 3rd party seller of this unit on e problems here are directed at the manufacturer, Plantronics.I've owned Plantronics M70 headsets before and loved them, which is why I ordered the same model ever, I must assume there are either sub-models within the M70, or this M70 was manufactured by a various company as it is shaped the same, yet the functionality is of lesser is M70 frequently takes 3 to 4 seconds to connect to an incoming call -- unacceptable delay. This appears to be a change in the firmware for this model that is not is M70 frequently gets a tinny echo or shriek after a few mins of talking with another person (different calls & people).
Gave these out as gifts. They were a HIT! I required them for people who need their hands free but have to be on the phone constantly. I gave one to a nurse who is my friend. She needs to hold in tough with doctors in the nursing home where she works. She uses it as an emergency tool. I gave one to a contractor who is also a amazing friend. He has to keep tools all the time and is not able to talk to his other clients unless he is hands free. This method he can contact them and they can search out when they can expect him. I got one for my truck driving brother who needs this as much as I did. I am so glad that I was able to obtain one for my sister-friend because she is an accountant and do taxes all year around. she needs to obtain in touch with her clients and this was the thing that created that easier for her when she is driving to and from places.
I've had several phones and headsets, earbuds etc. I just like getting them. I've had several from plantronics and they have always been perfect quality. Once in a while I'll buy something various as I like other brands too and maybe something weird that plantronics just doesn't have but.. When I decide to obtain something with their name on it I don't even think twice about if it'll be a amazing device. I simply compare the devices to see if they will fit the need I wish or have the features I want. Then I just simply order it without any other concern. This device is no different.I actually didn't obtain this for talking on the phone.I got lightweight and single ear to use to listen to audio books and blogs while working. Some people play melody in the office really low, I can listen in one ear (when doing the boring parts of my job) and still hear what's going on around me or not look like I'm jamming with headphones. Subtle and perfect.
So I have the voyager legend and i loved it (used it every day for 4 hours minimum over 3 years with no issues) so naturally when i required a replacement I bought 's where things went down hill. If I walk about or drive on a bumpy street I can hear something shaking inside of the mic boom. I noticed this issue on my unit and on a friend's who bought their's in target so I assume it's a product defect. Also the volume down and up buttons and very hard to press and the built-in firmware's voice (lady) is loud and static sounding. Huge allow down plantronics. I've resorted so junking this fresh one and reverting to the old voyager legend.
Take business calls in your car? CHECK OUT this Bluetooth earpiece!!I HIGHLY recommend these to my Realtor mates and business mates who take calls while in the car.I was getting so a lot of complaints about my car’s built-in Bluetooth phone calls. “I can hardly hear you”... “It sounds like an airplane is landing next to you”... “are you in a convertible” (I wish) LOLIt was frustrating, especially on business calls. So I ordered this small guy, and I’m SO GLAD I DID!Tested it out on I-94 today, then tried it with windows down... GREAT clarity! I could clearly hear the caller, and the caller could hear me! (Thanks Juliann Plasencia and Connor Plasencia)PRODUCT: Plantronics Voyager 5200 approx $100 (Amazon Wharehouse for $42)
[Update] And now the small gasket has fallen off when I took it out of my pocket. Seems like a really poor design when something to crucial comes off so easily. Never would happen with the M50. Happily I can order a fresh one, for $5-10, about 20% of the cost of a fresh one, and the lowest tech eviously I had the Plantronics M50, which I really liked. I only replaced it because I lost it. The m70 is very similar. For some reason they reversed the method the power switch moves, which is annoying. I don't search the outer ear loop quite as comfortable. I'm not crazy about the in-ear loop. But I'm sure it works for some. The largest improvement is the vocal feedback.
I'm a truck driver in the oilfields. Out here I'm exposed to a lot of noise whether in the truck or from the equipment on the jobsite. I use to have the jabra storm and my wife would always complain she can't hear me because of all the background noise. With this planitronics 5200 she says it sounds like I'm in a quiet office! As if I have a desk job! This headset goes amazing with the planitronics hub application which allows you to modernize firmware, customize the headset settings and monitor battery life. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to spend the money. Now that I have it, I don't think I can live without it. Super comfortable and outstanding noise canceling mics.
I purchased this Voyager 5200 to replace the previous model that I lost. I read a number of reviews stating that the previous model was just as good, and half the price... but I thought "surely the newer model would have some advancements, like better sound quality or battery life". After using the 5200 for one month, I can say that I haven't had any problems with the sound quality itself, but there are a number of things that I have noticed:1) Battery life is much worse. With the exact same type of usage, I would say that you obtain a small more than half of the previous model, which is very disappointing.2) Connectivity - I had zero problems with the older version, but for some reason the fresh ver when used in my truck will activate the voice control on my radio and will at times hold the voice control on indefinitely, I allow it go several times and it didn't complete the find action until I turned the headset off. It is kind of hard to explain, but imagine Google or Siri voice find just spinning and never accepting your input? that's what it's done several times, as soon as it connects.3) The overall max volume of the headset is quite a bit lower.4) NOTE: I haven't ever turned on the "high quality" setting-that claims to use more battery life! I can't imagine if it was worse.5) The battery never charges up past 6 hours, latest one would charge to seven - and this one will only latest about 3 -4 hours before it needs a recharge.
To my surprise, I'm happy with this headset. I've tried numerous Plantronics headsets, and always been disappointed. But this was a pleasant largest frustration with Plantronics headsets has always been volume. They just never got loud enough for a noisier car at freeway speeds. But this one has plenty of volume. Maybe it's my phone (Google Pixel XL), or maybe it's the headset. I don't know, but this one is fine for volume.I'm not crazy about the fit. I want they could come up with an extendable shaft to adjust for ear size. Also, I'm used to other headsets being IN my ear, rather than outside the ear like this one. But I'm getting used to it. And as stated above, it's got amazing e incoming audio quality is better than any headset I've ever heard. Very clear to my ear. The HD option makes incoming audio astounding, but largely unnecessary because the regular audio sounds fine. Outgoing audio (as recorded to my answering machine) is very good. Perfect noise reduction, though the voice may sound slightly robotic or digital. So far no one has had problem understanding ere are a number of bells and whistles accessible through the Plantronics application (HD audio, turning sensors off/on, etc). Once you search your favorite settings you may not use the application much, but it helps to obtain though I expected to test and return this, I'm keeping it. Pleasantly surprised at the performance.
This headset has a lot of positive attributes. The sound quality is good. The bluetooth connectivity is e fatal flaw -- not good construction of the plastic parts of the headset. Mine broke after 13 months and two weeks. The warranty lasts 12 months plus a 30 day grace period. The company rigidly adheres to this policy -- no exceptions. I am out of luck.I am not the only reviewer who experienced this problem.I suppose if you can purchase an extended warranty, it might be worth it.Otherwise, BUYER BEWARE.
I am picky about headsets and headphones. I am on conference calls almost the entire day. When not, I'd like to have fun a bit of music. Well, I have fun a lot of music, but it is hard to cram into available time.I have been waiting for a amazing wireless headset for 5 years, to mix conference calls with hifi melody listening that can switch between a physical phone and a PC. I have amazing headphones (Sennheiser HD 650), but headsets have always been single purpose for conference calls. FINALLY, something is here to balance both. I was skeptical at first...My requirements were:* Mute button with external visual indication when engaged* High quality for melody listening* Ability to pair to multiple devices (phone + PC)* Comfortable for all day* Boom with amazing microphone sound is checks all the boxes, which wasn't clear reading other reviews. This is an on-the-ear headset with a amazing mic that has a mute button! I was concerned about visual indication of the mute button engagement. The general approach is indication via the Plantronics Hub application when using it with a a PC softphone, which doesn't work for my use case (I have a Cisco DX80 video phone and don't prefer a softphone). A nice trick is that the BT600 USB that this comes with lights a various color when on mute. Even better, if I plug that USB dongle into my Cisco DX80 and pair the headset with the BT600 instead of the DX80, the DX80 recognizes it as a USB phone and when I go on mute, I obtain visual indication from the DX80 that I am on mute. That is HUGE for me. Another cool feature, in addition, is it yells at me if I talk on mute. Sometimes that may be intentional, but don't worry, you can turn that off with the Plantronics Hub ese headphones help the aptX codec for hi-fi wireless audio quality. So I can jam to Steely Dan's Aja when not on a conference call and it sounds great. These headphones resemble the Backbeat Sense I had before, but those didn't keep up as an adequate solution for a headset due to the mic placement not being ideal for conference use. These headphones can't touch the fidelity of my HD60 cans, but the comfort level is 90% of that, and the audio quality is the best I've had from a multi-tasking e headset is very comfortable. Supple leather, and no powerful pressure on the ears or headband.I'm a large fan. It took some patient waiting for something like this to arrive. Been a fan of plantronics headsets and headphones for a while.
I work in IT and having a amazing headset is almost as necessary as any other tool in my cubicle. For a lot of years, I've used the Plantronics Savi W720 (over the head binaural). My company uses Cisco IP phones and the W720 works best with the Plantronics APC-43 Electronic Hook Switch Cable (which eliminates the need for a handset lifter). It was time to obtain a fresh headset and since I've also been dealing with an increased amount of ambient noise given the amount of gear and systems running in close proximity, the Voyager focus seemed to fit what I was looking for - dual ear headset with active noise cancelling, compatible with my phone, connectivity to computer/desk phone/cell s:- noise cancellation works ok, but doesn't really decrease the higher pitched sounds- can connect to my cell phone at any time and for any audio purpose. my savi w720 only connected to my cell phone when an active cellular call signal was present- with the right accessories, it's the most flexible headset to manage multiple connections (desk phone, computer for skype/voip, and cell phone)- amazing battery lifecons- larger on the ear pads required for noise cancellation, but results in more discomfort after an hour or two. created worse since I wear glasses- still need the APC-43 to connect to my desk phone AND MDA220 USB Headset Switch to create it all seamless. Figure to add up to another 200 bucks for theseoverall, I'm satisfied but want the headset was a small more comfortable to wear. luckily I already had one of the accessories from my previous headset
Allow me begin by stating I am looking for an make batter to my M50. I received this in a plastic bag with what appeared to be all fresh accessories. It looked to be in amazing condition and there was only one small scratch that would suggest it to be refurbished. The first time I turned it on it worked great. It had clear sound and very long range (well over 100' which is why I was looking to upgrade). Battery lasted about a week whereas my M50 would latest 3 weeks with the same use. I charged it back up and this is when I began having troubles. After a few uses it started having a lot of noise that could be heard from both ends of the line. The range also seemed to deteriorate down to the point where you have to be in the same room as phone. I will also say it is not comfortable to wear at all. It comes with three earpieces created to keep it inside the ear and one clip for over the ear. Maybe my ears are weird shaped or something because I did not search any of the sizes to keep the earpiece in my ear very securely. It didn't come with just a round earpiece to use with the over ear clip so I tried the smallest inside clip one with the over ear clip but two seemed to push in opposite directions and would cause pain after only a few minutes. I have returned this headset and will probably not test another "renewed product". If someone else returned it they probably did so because there was something wrong with it and I don't think a thorough cleaning and fast try is considered "renewed" more like begin box.
I’ve owned plantronics bluetooth. But this one looks like it came out of someone ear, NASTY. The box was begin Didn’t come with accessories. I know it refurbish items but this one won’t chop it for me. This is my second one In 2 weeks and wants something that works please.
This thing has perfect volume, amazing bluetooth connection, and comparatively respectful battery life. The noise cancellation isn't amazing - People on the other end of the call would create it clear they could hear exactly what was going on in the background. I've had a lot of various bluetooth headsets and most of them have performed miserably in one of those locations of primary functionality.A few things anyone wanting to carry this in their pocket all of the time should consider. The shape really lends itself to accidentally getting pulled out of your pocket when you are getting other things such as keys from your pocket. I've lost two this method in just a few weeks of use. I also found that the headset was getting turned on quite a bit in my pocket which would lead to miserable battery life. Other headsets like the Explorer 500 have never turned on in my pocket.
These are very comfortable. I have a very huge head and wear glasses and these have a suspension band that makes them very comfortable in almost all situations. I didn't realize that they notch and lock down at first, but once I figured that out, they were a excellent fit.Mic quality is excellent. I've used these with Vidyo, WebEx, Skype, and GlobalMeet so far. In each instance voices in the headphones sound amazing and my voice sounds unbelievable to others. The mute function is very well done and is right on the microphone with a solid fast pronounced button. These headphones detect when you're trying to talk while you're muted and they alert you that no one can hear you speaking. You can change the setting to be audible, display a notification, both, or none.Overall Audio quality is also great. Definitely Plantronics voice audio quality here. I can listen to melody in full fidelity. When you communicate with the mic, the headphone switches profiles, even with the adapter and there is a drop in melody quality. The drop is notifiable, but it's still usable for gaming. The bass is rich, the mids are pronounced and well defined, and the highs are great. The headphones are doing some fancy realtime DSP when listening to melody and the quality is very well pronounced for professionally office headphones.Range is also decent. These go much further than my BackBeat Pro's and I can use them all over my 950 sq ft work zone with no problems. If I do obtain too far, the quality drops for the first few words, then switches to a higher band and picks right back up. This is a small annoying, but it handles it well. As long as you are within 50ft, you shouldn't run into any ise cancelling is very light. It's not overbearing, but it's a very subtle result that is hard to notice. I obtain motion sickness from Bose noise cancelling, but these don't bother me at e build quality feels good. They don't feel cheap like other headsets can feel. The dock is solid and well built. The headphones slip easily right in.I've used these enough now that I can comment on the battery life. For massive voice and melody I obtain 12-14 hours before they die. You obtain an audible alert an hour before they day, and the software estimate for battery life is very accurate.Once you obtain these, create sure you modernize the firmware. The firmware on the USB accessory and the headset both increase range and improve performance and audio ere is a slight quality drop when using pure bluetooth versus the dongle. It won't be noticeable to most people however. Allow me know if you have questions about the headphones or software!
These headphones really do everything: comfort, calls, music. I have a pair at home and a pair at work and I use them to listen to melody all day and occasionally take calls.I tried a lot of headphones/headsets in my quest for The One. These are the most comfortable of all headsets I tried, especially when wearing glasses. The sound when listening to melody is not as amazing as other audiophile headphones, but it is *very good*. The call acoustics / noise-canceling microphone is also top tier. The bluetooth connectivity is amazing. I have them simultaneously connected to an MacBook and an iPhone all day.I own ~12 pairs of headphones/headsets including Bose, Sennheiser, AKG, but because of how comfortable the Voyager Focus is, and how simple it is to be listening to melody and keep a phone call, it's all I use anymore.
This is my second voyager 3200 headset. The first one lasted over a year perfectly until my puppy dog chewed it up. I bought this refurbished unit to save money. It’s like brand fresh with fresh charger cord and ear pieces.
I was initially very satisfied with this purchase, due to amazing battery life and beautiful amazing sound quality. About three or four months into usage, I noticed a little crack on one side of the headphones, and that rapidly turned into a complete crack. Then about 10 months in the other side cracked. Now I have headphones that work, but look ridiculous and I have to treat them with utter care so I don't chop the exposed cords when they extend fully, due to the e quality of the plastic used in these headphones is beyond cheap. Extremely disappointed in Plantronics. Shoddy product. I've worn a lot of various brands of headphones over the years, all day (I'm a software developer, and listen all day as I work) and never, ever had another pair break in this fashion.
This is the second non-refurbished "refurbished" plantronics i've gotten. SInce they're obviously not able to repair product reliably, refurbished is not worth the slight savings.
When i first started using this my mate mentioned a drop in sound quality over my other bluetooth unit. Then I decided to begin the plantronics application and take a look at the settings. One of them is HD audio which is disabled by default to conserve battery life. I toggled it on and it makes quite a difference, he said it was like a completely various unit. This setting also helps to create the earpiece sound more clear. If any of you have this unit I highly recommend making that adjustment. Once you change that setting it's locked into the unit and it will stay applied across all your devices. I'm not sure what kind of impact it makes of the battery life but even if it goes from 5 hours to 3 hours I think it would be worth it.
Not sure if its because its a renewed headset, or just the method its supposed to main complaint is:1) Can only walk away from my phone about 20 feet and its starts breaking up the connection.2) While on the phone a lot of people complain that my voice cuts in and out ( i believe this is from the noise cancellation canceling my voice with the background noise.)Not at all what I expected from this high end Bluetooth, keeping it as a spear unit for emergencies
I originally bought this for use with my Dell XPS Windows 10 computer and my Android device Pixel 2. It works amazing with those 2 devices. It will connects to both the computer and the phone and seamlessly switches between the 2. I can be listening to melody on my computer and when a phone call comes in, or if I begin dialing out, the headset automatically switches to the e issues started when I tested with my daughter's 2017 macbook pro. The headset worked so well on my windows computer that I just assumed it was a slam dunk to buy the same headset for my daughter. Boy was I wrong. If any bluetooth mouse is connected to the computer, the headset garbles the sound really poor and the mouse gets really slow and choppy. It doesn't matter what bluetooth mouse is connected - I tried a couple various ones including an Apple mouse and a windows mouse - the same windows mouse I was using on my Dell XPS. I called tech help about that and they said to use the plantronics USB bluetooth adapter. The issue is that it's a USB A adapter and the computer only has USB C ports. So if a USB C to A adapter is used, it will end up sticking out of the computer by a couple of inches making it a hazard to break or lose. I'm not sure if this is an Apple issue or a Plantronics issue but I had nothing but issues using this headset with my daughter's macbook Pro. That being said I don't remember having issues when only the headset was connected and no other bluetooth devices were connected to the macbook.Another down side to this headset is that the plastic on the head band cracked only after a month of use. It turns out Plantronics tech help is second to none and sent me a replacement headset immediately. They did ask that I return the old headset but shipped me out a fresh headset without waiting for me to return the old headset. I was also able to reach a human by phone very quickly. Their tech help and customer service is a rare standout in this day and age of automated systems, overseas agents, and not good customer service. I truly wanted to buy another headset for my daughter but couldn't justify it due to the really not good performance with her summary, it performs amazing when paired with the right equipment but lacks durability and cross platform compatibility.
First of all, I required a headset that could tell me who the caller was from my phone contact list. This is an extremely necessary feature for any Bluetooth headset I use. I wanted to test the Plantronics instead of a name I wasn't familiar with. This headset had all the features I wanted but I didn't wish to buy new. I wanted to test it first to see if it would work as advertised.I had some problems with the headset but after some trial and error, I think it may be more user error than a issue with the headset. I believe to use this headset fully and satisfactorily, you need to also obtain the Plantronics Hub app. You will have more control and it will provide you with some very necessary feedback, especially if you are having problems with the headset telling you who is e first issue I had was with pairing. I couldn't obtain it to pair as a Bluetooth headset to my phone. I had to use the NFC feature to create the headset pair. But I found out that to use the Bluetooth pairing option, you need to keep the main button in until you hear the headset say, "Pairing". (What I mean by the main button is the malfunction button on the front of the device) Honestly, I think I was impatient and would release the button too soon for it to go into pairing mode. Once that happens, the V3200 appears in your list of devices to pair with. From here, you are able to pair the device to your e next problem I had was that the headset was not consistent in announcing the caller. If the caller is in your contacts list, it should tell you who is calling and if you wish to accept or ignore the call. This would work sometimes and sometimes it would just ring and I wouldn't know who was calling even though the caller was in my contacts list. This became very frustrating. But I may have stumbled onto the problem. The headset has a sensor that detects when the headset is either in your ear of not. If the sensor doesn't detect that the headset is in your ear, it will not announce the caller even if they are in your contact list. I was unhappy with the ear gel that was included with the headset as it didn't seem to keep the headset in my ear very securely. So I also used the over-the-ear loop that came with the headset. The only issue is, this loop may interfere with the sensor that senses that the device is in your ear. If the headset doesn't think you have it positioned in your ear, it won't announce the e method I discovered this was quite by accident. I have been trying several various ear gels to see if I could search one that felt more secure. While doing this, I noticed on the application that sometimes the status would change from "on ear" to "off ear". If I called my phone when the status was "off ear" the device would not announce the caller. If I called my phone when the application indicated "on ear" the caller would be announced (provided the caller was in my contact list) The thing is, this sensor is very sensitive and you have to be amazing and sure the application recognized the device as "on ear" for it to work. However, you can't determine this if you don't have the Plantronics Hub application on your ly, as I said before, I wasn't satisfied with the ear gels that came with the headset as I couldn't search one that felt secure enough. I finally stumbled on some that seem to work very well. They are offered on the Amazon www service as CHOCKALOTTA Best Fit in-Ear Replacement Ear Hints Make batter for Plantronics Voyager 3200. With these, I don't have to use the over-the-ear loop. However I still create sure the application indicates that my headset is "on ear" when wearing it.I hope this helps someone else as I believe these are very amazing Bluetooth headsets. And maybe someone else has had related problems.Update: I've had an problem with the sensor on this headset in that it will erroneously tell the Plantronics application that the device is not in your ear when it really is. Therefore it will not announce who is calling. You might play with it to obtain the application to recognize that it's in your ear but you never know if at sometime the device goes "off ear" until someone calls and all you obtain is a ring. To avoid this issue you can turn the sensor off in the application and from then on, it will default to, "on ear" ere are several functions that the sensor provides. Check the manual or the application to see if any of these options are needed for your particular use. If not, my tip would be to turn the sensor off in the app. Then it will always announce who is calling.
For a device I use almost all day every day, this is a amazing one. It's my constant companion on conference calls, podcasts, and videochats. I use it around the house, on the go, and at the gym. It has amazing sound quality, solid battery life, and the physical aspects are amazing - the sliding on/off switch is simple to use and convenient to turn on as you're picking it up to place it in your ear. This product is amazing enough for me to use in the office, as well as on the go.
I'll admit it, I fell for it. If you look on Plantronic's www service (as of August, 2018), they list this headset at $299.95. If you Google them, you'll see there are a lot of questionable www services listing them for less than $150, just like this listing. But they are listed for $250 to $300 at www services with brick-and-mortar stores you know you can trust. I know that means these are not authentic headphones from Plantronics but I bought them anyway, even though there are lots of reviews saying they fell apart or stopped working right away. They came in packaging that obviously wan't from Plantronics (these are expensive headphones, so you know the kind of packaging to expect). The images already posted for this item present the box -- that's the whole box, with no extra outer box with marketing all over it. I didn't even take them out of the sad box before sending them back (it's not even a standard Amazon return). I did some Googling after the fact, and apparently there are a lot of fake headsets out there. These are probably only worth about $30, so this isn't a method to save money. The only redeeming quality is that these are beautiful amazing for a $30 headset. Buyer beware!
I really like this headset. Very amazing sound... I live in the pathway of a major airport, and occasionally I'll be outside on the phone, and with this headset, people have said they can't even hear the plane flying over. The sound quality is great. Although I suspect for melody one could do better with a dedicated set of high end headphones, the melody quality is quite good, too. If you are looking for a headset both for phone work as well as listening to music, podcasts, etc., I don't think you can go wrong here. I also like the method the controls work... very straightforward, pairs easily every time I turn it on, tells me how much talk time is left, etc. And if the headset is off, and I obtain a call, I can slap it on, flip the on switch, and it works so quickly to pair that I don't lose the call by the time it's on my headset.
I particularly like this headset and I have had quite s few. I work remotely out of my home office for work, so this is really helpful when my 11-year olds are home from school for a holiday or the summer. The sound cancellation is great. I’m not going to tell you it is the same as Sony’s or Bose’s but it sure is good. The thing that stands apart is it’s seemless integration with my Cisco softphone (IP Communicator). No additional software was required and i cannot install anything because of my eork laptop security. This is great. Now, I can pair it with my iPhone X and change the settings via the app, so I do not feel like I’m missing e mic and sound of my voice during conference calls and presentations is superb. This is why it is a better tool for me for calls than the Bose and Sony products. If they only had a amazing dedicated mic, they could compete in this market, but this is why I believe a Plantronics stands apart and dominate. Their products like this one work well with my Cisco softphone, integrates with my iphone for mobile calls and when traveling, and has insane battery life for all day work.I can hear clearly and speak without issues or worry that the people on the phone cannot hear me. It appears to use the same mic I have on my portable Voyager Pro mic that I have as a backup or when I need a free ear to listen e traveling case is foam padded and protects it beautiful well. It is not a hard case, but I think it still works well. Hard cases have created me assume more that I had more protection than it reasonably e stand that I use when in my office is a nice cradle/stand with simple to ready lights and docks really easily. This makes it simple to take off and charge in a dedicated e features that this has are really surprising, too. They are not only practical but seemed to have been thought out in a method that I did not expect. The auto respond when I place the headset on is e mic remind voice that I can set for different intervals, when I talk and it’s on, and/or any combination of the 2 is super helpful. Yes, I do want I could control the volume of the mute on voice, but it works well. If I hate it at some point, I can turn it off and look at my Cisco softphone to see if mute is does let for longer range talk when further away from my computer. That can sacrifice battery life from over 14 hours to almost 9 hours per day. There are days when meetings, projects, and working with people will hold me online all day, so it’s nice to have 9+ hours.I’d recommend this and think you should seriously consider it for the features, comfort, amazing sound (earphones and mic), long battery life, and integration with Cisco. I have a huge head and it works great.
Wow a amazing product !I'm super picky about BT headsets because I wear it every workday. On this Voyager 3200 its comfort is above par I'm using little inner ear gel & ear hook - its tight volume is very amazing & clear and my ear isn't e true try on that score will be wearing for a 10 hour day !But my ONLY shortcoming so far is that the headset control to play / pause doesn't control or cause phone player to is matters as I'm frequently out of sight / touch of my phone but require pause / play / track control. When I press the main side button Manual says is "Play /.Pause" I hear a tone but melody never pauses. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy J3 Phone - Android device V8 I cheap Chinese BT manages to have this control so its frustrating to see Plantronics not do ybe this unit is defective ?If anyone reading this can say, I'll post it in Q & A ank you - David in Texas
This is my THIRD Plantronics Voyager Legend [PVL] -- and the only reason that I had to replace the other two was because I dropped my first one into a swimming pool and didn't realize it until later, and the second one I recently lost. In an effort to save a dollar or two, I mistakenly tried several various Bluetooth headsets in between my PVLs -- they were a complete waste of time and s:• Crisp, clean sound• Noice reduction for the person on the other end of the line• Connects quickly and effortlessly EVERY TIME• Incredibly long battery life• Charges quickly• Exceptionally comfortable (sometimes forget its there)• Doesn't need to be "pushed into" or "plugged into" your ear c• Sweat proof & dirt proof• Additional durable -- been worn everyday during construction work• May be used on either earCONs:• Soooo comfy, that I forgot I was wearing it and lost it "TWICE!" (Totally my fault)• Weird, magnetic charging cable -- SPEND THE EXTRA $20 and obtain the charging case. It will hold your headset nice and safe, and supply backup charging. It uses a easy micro USB.WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET THIS HEADSET ALREADY!
This bluetooth wireless earpiece is great. I was looking hard for a decent one. I tried some gaming headsets which were method too big, and I tried some traditional call center pieces, but they didn't play melody - only phone calls. Then I looked up which would be the best option for business use and this was suggested. It is great! It gets calls and asks me if I wish to respond or send it to voicemail and all I have to do is say what I want. I don't need to touch anything. It plays my melody beautiful well, and the sound is crisp. I called a few people and asked them how they could hear me and while I was driving on the highway, I was told that they could hear me crystal clear with no background noise. All of the buttons create it very convenient. I have average sized ears and the piece is a small bit huge over the top, but I actually thinks its supposed to be and I just haven't gotten used to it yet. That will come. I could run around doing business and chores, and errands all day with this thing on my ear and forget about it. There's no wires, a beautiful long reach to the phone, so if I don't remember where I place it - but the piece is in my ear - I can still respond a call from anywhere in my house. There's a volume button which can double as a forward or rewind button, a usb plug and wall adapter which comes with it, there s a call, play, end call, redial button all in one button, theres a voice demand/ energy report / mute all in one button. It's small, comfortable, and the sound and voice quality is incredible.
It is just a bit better than the Voyager Pro that I had before, which I already loved. One of the issues the Pro had which bugged me is when I had it on and in my hear, when I answered a call on my iPhone it would not automatically switch to the earpiece, I'd have to wait a few seconds for the call to connect and then bring up the sound options and switch from phone to ear piece, meanwhile the caller was like "hello? hello? hello?" every time! Now the fresh Voyager is intelligent enough to place the call in my ear piece if it's in my ear. By the way, that issue had never happened with the Voyager Pro when I had a Droid, it only started when I switched to iPhone.Another thing I totally love about this is how I can now say "Answer" or "Reject" when a call comes in and maybe the phone is two rooms away, if I have the Voyager in my ear I obtain the call and a voice prompt. It's so cool being able to respond or reject without running to obtain my phone. And finally, I think the design is ever so slightly a better fit for my ear - I search I need less adjusting when I'm walking down the road wearing it.
About 5 years ago I purchased a Plantronics Voyager HD Pro. Amazing headset, flawless for 2 1/2 years . Worn 8-10 hours a day. When it was time to replace bought the Plantronics Voyager Legend. Lasted about four months, returned it to Plantronics. They sent me a refurbished unit back, within 2 months same problems. So I bought a Plantronics Voyager 5200, within 6 months radio signal losses and other issues. Didn't bother sending it back to Plantronics for another refurb. Yeah I took another bite. Bought another Plantronics Voyager Legend. Within a month problems. Was told by mates and family, that this unit sounded like a typewriter in the background another said it sounded like I was tearing paper. If you decide to buy, all I can say is amazing luck. Plantronics I'm not biting again, and definitely won't be back....
The headset itself is amazing and the noise cancelling is amazing. I work in a data center with so much noise I can barely hear myself, but people on the other end can't even hear the noise. Its awesome to be ever, this is one of those products you may wish to buy brand fresh from a store. Its obvious these are re-furbished, returned, or older models that the manufacturer is selling direct to consumers via Amazon. I say this because:1. I bought this headset in the retail packaging and it went out after 6 months. The replacement was a re-furbed headset with all components, but no retail packaging or manual.2. If you look at most reviews of the unit everywhere else, they are much higher than what they are here.3. Its $20 cheaper here than everywhere else, including Plantronics websiteI'm not saying don't buy the unit, and in fact I would buy it again because of how well it works. I'm just saying be aware of what your are buying and obtain the warranty. This is my second unit. The first lasted 2 years, and this one 6 months. If you look at the reviews, [email protected]#$%! or r the record, Plantronics help was amazing and sent a replacement in a couple days.
So far I like this Bluetooth. I have used it every day for 3 months and it has performed well. NEVER have I had anyone on the other end of the conversation say they were having any issue hearing me, in fact when I tell them they say "I never know you were using a Bluetooth". It does not seem to pick up background sounds or wind like using my iPhone for myself being able to hear the other person, I can hear good. EXCEPT the volume is a small low for noisy environments. I have it turned up all the method but still need to focus on the call or cup hand over ear if I'm in a REAL noisy place. After I did a Firmware modernize the volume improved but could be louder. Under normal situations volume is fine.I would strongly recommend buying the charging case with it. I charge the case up once a week (for couple hours) and then it will charge the headset every night when I place up for the night, with out being plug in.I work construction and have exposed it to massive sweat and even rain and had not had a problem.I wear glasses and it fits fine with them.I will buy it again...
I have gone through 3 of these in the past couple of years. They are amazing at first but then become extremely annoying and unreliable. If I am connected and test to create a call it will automatically disconnect (not unpair) and then I will have to hit the Bluetooth icon on the call screen to reconnect. Then throughout the phone call it will connect and disconnect as it sees fit. I believe this is due to the "feature" that detects if you take the headset off and automatically disconnects. Issue is it never gets it right. Oh, this also gets thrown off if you wear a hat. It starts thinking you have taken it off and... more disconnects. If they could fix this issue or eliminate the feature causing it I would test it again. Otherwise I am done with this brand.
Have been searching for a headset for to replace another and I created the right choice. While this is comfortable and the quality of the audio received is excellent, my largest concern is how my voice is transmitted to the caller on the other end (his has been the largest issue with the old set I had; people said that it sounded like I was on a speakerphone at all times). When I asked the same people how the audio quality was on this, people have said that it's a large improvement and one has said it sounds just like I'm on a land line. That's what I'm looking for! Also there seems to be a better speed in processing my voice where with the other one there was a half to one second delay which could be extremely annoying as we would tend to step on each other during a ere are two concerns I have: 1) the tactile surface, while comfortable, gathers dust, and scratches making it visually unappealing, but who is going to message this but me? 2) This comes with a custom USB charger connection (see attached picture). I can't stand custom charger connections! This requires that I take it with me everywhere I go or purchase extra ones to have them in all the different locations that I might need it, Office, Car, Travel Bag, etc. Also, if anything were to happen to it, I wouldn't be able to use a stock charge cord in a pinch. That's true frustration but I'm not going to allow it obtain me down. It's otherwise a amazing headset and I'm going to give this a full 5 stars based on the headset alone because audio quality is of the utmost importance.
I ordered a "New" headset because after 2.5 years of rough treatment my old one broke. My pack came and much to my surprise there was No factory box, no wall charger, no socks for the ear buds. The headset was repackaged in 3 plastic bags place in a card board box with a sticker and said "New Item". One bag had the used refurbished (it cleary has a refurb-m sticker on it ), headset, the second bag had a charging cable, the third bag had a set of ear buds without the sock covers. I could have paid less and got the same thing or possibly a Fresh one on a Ebay. But I have always like the Trusted security of getting exactly what's advertised and what I'm ordering from Amazon . I guess just like everyone else in the online retail globe they to are now outsourcing to maximize their profit with not good product control. I'm sending it all back and I'm seriously second-guessing my future Amazon purchases.
I owned a few Voyager pro's in the latest 10 years. Eventually they died after a couple of years or so and I replaced them with the same model. I really like how they fit.Unfortunately, In the past 3 months I have had 2 of the Voyager Legend's. One failed to hold connections with my phone. The second one the speaker failed after 5 so the programmer forgot to leave a zone after the the word "To" so when it responds it says, " Calling ToJohn Smith."
