This is exactly what I wanted--a bare bones, easy budgeting application that is super simple to use. I especially like the hashtag feature that let's you track expenses and compare them with expenses from past months. It really helps me see where I tend to overspend. Glad I found this!

Good, could be better. Some feature suggestions: -adding a bill where you don't know the exact amount every month, such as for electricity -an overflow budget option, where say I go $20 over budget in entertainment it will minus $20 from another pocket -exact amount spent this month showing on the graph page, as well as better labelled axis -better stats, for instance amount spent per month per pocket (up or down from prev. month) -spending trend-based predictions

Helpful, but could be improved. 1) bills/expenses on the latest day of the month often don't present up in "upcoming bills", I'm assuming because there's 28, 30, or 31 days in the month. The solution to this is upgrading to plus and adding it in as a money bill. 2) would be amazing to be able to split a single purchase between two or more categories for more accurate data. So if you buy a card and bonus while grocery shopping, you could categorize appropriately instead of adding it in as a note on the purchase. 3) rolling over income and bills into the next month. Everything is month-based in this app, but a lot of people probably have bills/expenses that occur on the 1st day of the month. But these bills aren't shown or calculated in "upcoming bills". 4) would be nice to have a calendar view of bills and income for people that don't like lists. Overall, a very helpful app. These are just suggestions to improve that I've noticed after using this application for multiple months. It gives a amazing snapshot of your finances and it's so incredibly helpful that you don't have to manually enter every purchase because it pulls data from your bank account. You could spend as much or as small time as you wish in this app.

Amazing interface and helpful info and schematics that present what you are spending on. Unfortunately I can't give more stars because I cannot use the application to track monthly spending without the ability to change the date of some transactions. If a paycheck comes in early then the application tries to tell me I've been payed double for this month whereas in reality that cash should be budgeted for next month. I really hope this is fixed soon.

Updated review: credit card payments continue to be an issue. As they count the payment received and payment created thus cancelling the transactions out. Resulting in spending a lot time going through transactions to obtain an accurate picture. Prior to the latest modernize application was very informative fresh update has created it useless ...it now has my credit card as checking and transactions are duplicated.

Love this app. It does everything I wish and is a amazing replacement for Level Money, RIP. I do have two problems though. 1. Transactions take forever to post, even though balances are up to date. 2. It has a hard time keeping my credit cards separate. Keeps seeing credit payments as transfers and canceling each other out. Also tends to list them under the wrong acc name for merchant. It would be 5 stars if these got fixed.

It's been 15 days since it's updated my bank acc balance and transactions. 15 days!! What's the point of having an application that tracks your bank accounts if it's not going to do that? That's the one feature that I got this application for and it fails miserably in that ever necessary aspect.. My bank is Bank of America, so it's not even a little bank.

I simply cannot obtain passed the acc link phase. I will link account, then says to verify code via text. After that it says it is verifying, will do this for several mins and suddenly stop. I've done this process about 10 times and no access.

I like the application but I think it'll be a amazing idea to have access to our credit card info and be able to connect the famous investment applications like acrons, robinhood etc. Also if we could pay bills ahead of time through the application that'll be neat too.

How to Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck (2nd Edition): A proven path to money mastery in only 15 minutes a week! (Smart Money Blueprint | Simple Personal Finance Books) review [Book]  2017-11-8 18:2

This is the rarest of all rarities - a really amazing ebook on private finance. The author makes two arguments. First, that you must place some effort into taking control of your finances. Second, that the effort is not as monumental as you think and the rewards are much greater than you e's right! You cannot "compartmentalize" finances. How you manage your cash (however much or small it may be) affects every aspect of your life - your physical and emotional well-being, your relationships, what hobbies you can pursue and where you can live. Saying that it's not worth while to create the effort to obtain control of your finances is saying that your life doesn't matter. It's giving up on n't create the mistake of thinking that you can avoid taking control of your spending by simply getting a job that pays more. You'll search that the job app asks for permission to check your credit rating. If it's lousy, you won't even be considered for that high-paying job that would place you on Simple Street. And you can blow through a huge income just as easily as a little is author walks you through the process in clear, easy-to-understand language. It's a wonderfully readable combination of advice, fascinating examples, and moral support. Best of all, she instructs you gently and without a tip of condescension or blame. It's like sitting down with that favorite aunt or uncle (or grandparent) who understands that people create mistakes and who believes in your ability to turn things around. Getting started is the hard part. Take a deep breath and just do it. You'll be glad you is is one of my three favorite books on private finance. The other two are LIFE AFTER DEBT by Rob Kosberg and HOW TO MANAGE YOUR MONEY WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ANY by Erik Wecks. With the wisdom of these authors behind you, you can't fail to see change for the better. Amazing luck.

A amazing book with easy actions steps to support anyone live beyond paycheck to paycheck. It is simple to read, but asks some hard questions about where the cash goes each month. The MoneyTracker and instructions on how to use it are wonderful. This is one of those books that I want I had read when I graduated from college 25 years ago. I dare say that if I had the book, read it, and followed the actions steps back then, I would be in a much various financial situation today.

This book is easy and practical. It should be read by anyone stuck in the grind of living paycheck to paycheck (aka 90% of Americans). Avery is spot-on in saying budgets are not restrictive; they actually provide freedom. I am living proof of this, and it is because I lived on a tight budget that I was able to pay off a $14,000 student loan in 3 years, while living under poverty line for my family size. I'm now debt-free, and it is truly liberating! I hope a lot of more come to have that experience when they read and practice the amazing tip in Avery's book.

This book couldn't have come at a more excellent time. I will be sharing a house with 2 roommates soon and already have had to have a few "money conversations". Talks about cash are rarely comfortable, but this book reminded me just how essential they are! I feel more than confident that if I follow some of the easy steps laid out for me in "Paycheck to Paycheck" I'll be fine.

Extremely helpful This book is what I was looking for for the past 2 years. I would've paid more for this book if I knew what is inside! Took me a few hours to read and begin my financial planning (budgeting) right away. You'd be surprised to see Cash Tracker (free download bonus) in action! Nice visual presentation, user-friendly, and much more...I would recommend this book to everyone regardless of age, income, marital status. it's just what everyone must know. Thanks a lot to the author!

NerdWallet: Personal Finance & All Things Money review [App]  2017-11-10 13:10

I admittedly used the www service to setup all my accounts before I downloaded the app. But I found it incredibly simple and didn't have any problems. I would expect that if issues were experienced, these devs would love to know the info and hold working out it. For a just out of beta app, it is incredibly polished and I am absolutely sold. I have grown very tired of Mint only acting as a service in so much as to create me a product to advertisers. NerdWallet seems to only be partnering with services that I would actually wish and has always been my source of info to compare credit cards! So excited that I can switch to them for these Private Finance modeling needs and can't wait to see what else they add!

Very helpful for doctoring a higher credit report score. Lots of helpful articles that helped bust previous card myths I had. My feature is the page that lets you link all your cards so you can see everything in one spots. Makes life a lot easier! Amazing job NW, hold it up.

Amazing service team; Very responsive! The only issue I have is that there's no method (that I can see) to modernize accounts. Swiping down @ the Home screen only updates the credit score. My accounts are still latest "updated x hours ago."

Goal tracking is amazing in concept. However, it won't allow me link the acc where I save to the emergency fund goal because my acc is not technically a savings account. That does not work for me. Similarly, some of my credit cards are with little credit unions and those cards cannot be linked to the credit card debt goal.

The UI is amazing. Unfortunately its extremely difficult to add accounts and even when you do enter your info correctly. Can't advise this application to anyone who doesn't have an acc with the top banks.

Guard your privacy. This application isn't happy with how much I have saved for retirement - it won't provide any assistance until I tell it WHERE my cash is. Um... NO. Never. Not sharing my banking information with this app.

Fresh to the application and it looks amazing with one exception. No idea where they are coming up with the credit score. It is over 100 points LOWER than my true score as varied by two other reputable sites.

Wow! A much cleaner alternative to Mint. I love that there are helpful suggestions and recommendations for other services, but those are at the bottom of any page, unlike Mint. NerdWallet's application and web application design puts your information first. Extremely well done.
