The leaking of multiple Badger 5 garbage disposals and the age of my house - eventually almost wore a hole under my kitchen sink. I was so sick of the leaking and the hurt and the smell that I decided that I would never have to go through this again! I researched and researched - not only garbage disposals but how to stop the water hurt if it does ever leak again. This was the best thing I could find. We bought this a garbage disposal and a dishwasher all at the same time. My handy man installed everything. We bought the Waste King disposal - also from Amazon. I measured and measured over and over to create sure this rev-a-shelf would fit. My handyman removed the old mdf board from the bottom of my sink first. It was so worn out - he did not even need a saw! He replaced it with quarter inch plywood. Then he chop this rev-a-shelf to fit. It was simple to fit he said. Not much cutting was needed. Cutting only required just for the pipes in the back of the base cabinet Then, we decided to Lexell all around the edge of the cabinet. This will ensure that water does not obtain under this shelf. There is room for the piece of wood that goes between where the front closes on the cabinet. The fit was almost excellent and very simple to work with he said. The grooves create the water stay on the shelf - unless there is too much to keep - then it will go out the front of your cabinet instead of rotting the base. To be on the safe side - I kept my two water sensors that I had placed there when there was a weekly leak of water! I feel so secure with this system now. It has been in put for a month now and even though I still check for leaks (old habits!) It is reassuring that any leaks can be soaked up and no hurt will come to my base cabinet. The key here is the measurements. Create sure to measure everything. Not just the perimeter - but where your pipes are. If you have an older house, it is harder to search the right size. I eventually did. And I hired someone who knows what they are doing. I am sure that helped too. I am thinking of doing this to my bathrooms too! I highly recommend this product!

Just finished installing this... If I had known how difficult it would be, I would have figured out something else. Normally, I like assembling and installing stuff, but this... is not created to be cut. It is created of rigid, hard plastic that breaks when bended. I required only half an inch off each side and it's been a true struggle.I don't know what they were smoking when they said that that you can chop it with a utility knife. My utility knife (brand new) could only scratch it. Luckily, I have massive duty scissors that barely did the job, but now all edges are horribly choppy and uneven. If you have a saw, that will hopefully create it easier. But there is nothing to support you chop it - no grooves, no lines, nothing. But once installed, it looks like it will stand up to abuse and will be simple to clean.

I am not good at projects that involve measuring, so the fit of this is ever so slightly off due to my own error. The instructions call for sealing with silicone, so I just used a bit additional to fill in the little gap. The cabinet under my kitchen sink was water damaged and warped before I ever moved into my house in 2004. I wanted this to disguise the existing issues and mitigate any future ones. The product was simple to score and snap apart as directed in the instruction leaflet. When I noticed I required to trim a little corner after I'd wrestled the liner into the cupboard this was easily accomplished with tin snips. It was difficult to obtain into put because of my existing plumbing, but nothing I couldn't handle. Going forward it will be much easier to wipe down the under sink zone and the look is greatly improved. I may the smaller ver for the bathroom vanity next since this was a success.

Fits excellent under my sink. I see some reviews complaining about trimming it. But if you have any pair of wire cutters, it will chop easily enough to fit. If you don't create a excellent chop all you have to do is seal the edges with some clear silicone caulking. I just had a slow leak under my sink that I didn't know about for WEEKS. Until I started smelling mold I had no idea that every time I ran my faucet it was leaking just a bit of water. Damaged the whole underside of the cabinet in the back before I discovered it and by then it was a true is would prevent that. No. It won't be amazing if you have a major leak, but definitely worth having to prevent a little crisis! Plus, it just keeps things neater. If you're a landlord I would recommend this for tenant rentals to protect the bottom of your kitchen sink base cabinets.

This thing rocks. I had a leaky garbage disposal. Took it out, gave the cabinet floor several days to dry with a fan aiding the process. Installed fresh disposal but first installed this. Turned out I didn't quite have the fresh disposal in there well enough as it leaked also BUT this time I had this tray in place. Clean up was now some paper towels and a couple mins instead of days to air dry. Fixed the leaking sink mount on the disposal and the rest is history.

This thing is beautiful cool. After installing a couple various sink base cabinets over the years, I always thought to myself, there's got to be a method to protect the cabinet better...And it turns out... there is! The only con is that is can be a bit hard to obtain the thing into put if your trap and/or other plumbing is low or awkwardly placed. Mine barely went in, but it finally settled into place. Unlike what some others have said, it's beautiful simple to chop if you just score it a couple times with a amazing blade, and then snap it (it is a hard rigid plastic). No leaks so far,but it has already captured some soap and dishwasher detergent, so definitely recommend....!

Created from a rigid, brittle plastic (ABS?). Trimming it with a utility knife is like eating a bowl of ice cream with a tooth pick; I used a table saw. The larger issue with this design is it will not include a spill along the side of the cabinet. The vertical raised section on the sides of the mat is 2" from the edge. So, if you have an RO system mounted to the cabinet wall and the RO filter or tubing leaks, this tray will not capture the leak. If I were to do this again, I'd the Weathertech mat.

This was extremely hard to chop to size. The instructions say you can use a utility knife but mine barely scratched the surface. I broke a brand fresh pair of scissors cutting this mat. Too much work for what it is. I also noticed that you loose valuable space. Because of the raised locations around the edges, you can't really utilize the entire base of the cabinet. (See pictures). If I hadn't spent so much time getting it in the cabinet I probably would have tossed it.

This thing is amazing and will hold your under sink cabinet looking clean and dry. I used a utility knife and a ruler to score it as best I could, then using a rag to obtain a amazing grip on it and also so as not to chop my hands, I was able to snap it at the score line. I had to snap it in sections as it doesn't fold over at the score line -- it's extremely rigid plastic -- but once I got the fold over started, I was able to obtain it all the method across and ultimately just break it off. I was a small worried at first but it worked fine. My score line wasn't perfectly straight but it didn't matter because that rough edge is at the back of the cabinet where no one would see it. The front edge remains in tact. I also had to reduce the depth by a fraction of an inch which was harder because you can't obtain a amazing enough grip on it to snap it off. Once I got it started I used some really powerful scissors and chop along the line a few inches at a time. The whole thing really only took about 20 mins to finish and slide into the cabinet. (Mine doesn't have any vertical impediments so it just went right in.) As you can see in my pics, I also got the Rev-A-Shelf - RV-12KD-18C S - 35 Quart Pullout Waste Container which I installed right on top of this drip tray. It looks amazing down there now.

Excellent fit to hide that ugly particle board sink base that is stained, peeling and sagging. A small stiff to work with but that's where you obtain the strength in case the base is no longer perfectly level. Pricey for plastic but a lot cheaper and neater looking than replacing the base. Also eliminates any future damage. The front of the cabinet is slightly lower than the side so you will see water leaking out if it's a poor leak.

Contains 2 close mounting hinges so don't another pair separately like I did. Beautiful nice tray but was a pain to remove the layer of protective plastic sheet.I used these to improvise a tipout tray for an Ikea 36" Sektion cabinet with a 5" drawer front in case someone is trying to do the same. I was initially worried that there is not enough clearance above the drawer front for it to begin properly but it only needs about 3/8" of clearance between the countertop and top of drawer. Also, due to the method the hinge operate, it may be too tight if your countertop has a wide lip- my countertop had a lip of 1.5" which I think is typical. It still is very close though. If you are in doubt, mock up a couple pieces of wood to simulate your setup before you begin drilling holes in the cabinet or drawer front.

This worked better than I could have hoped, but leaves some to be desired. For starters the fit was perfect, however, with instructions but no templates, it is a fast method to mess up a drawer front if someone does not know what they are doing. Also, the metal of the hinges is very and the first time the drawer got away from me it bent the hinge badly. Thankfully I knew how to fix it and was able to obtain it working again. I do love the fit and the finish, as well as the convenience.

The problem is the instructions refer to a template which wasn't included - others have stated the same thing. This is a huge failure on the part of Rev-a-Shelf. There isn't much room for error so if you're not drilling the pilot holes correctly everything else won't line up and it won't close cleanly. As others have indicated, the installation is a bit of a challenge. The hinges are shown with elongated slots at the top and mid-way down with the instructions indicating screws to be installed in the middle of the slots to let adjusting them up or down. However, the top slots are not really elongated. Also, the tray is supposedly stainless steel. If so, it is the cheaper stainless that is magnetic (yes, it can rust). The instruction could use improvement as they can be confusing and the print on the diagrams is so small, I required a magnifying glass to read them. I managed to save some time by marking my entire panel before removing it. That allowed me to position and install the stainless tray mounting screws before attaching the panel to the hinges and eliminating the need to remove the panel after attaching it to the hinges.Once installed, it does its job as described and that is what I wanted.

I love this idea, of a "tip-out" shelf under the sink, but above the bottom cabinet. And I really like Rev-A-Shelf products in r a fast "cubby" type of space, this is perfect. It holds some of the smaller stuff that you may not wish to leave laying around on the counter, but are too little and too often used to hold bending down to obtain from underneath in the cabinet. This leaves everything within your reach when cleaning in the sink, or whatnot. A excellent zone to keep sponges, fruit scrubbers, bottle-cleaning brushes, etc. It has the right depth, and comes in a dozens of lengths to accommodate most any kitchen - or bathroom - situation, that has a "fake" front panel just under the sink area.

These were simple to install. But disappointed once we got them installed. The bottom corners don’t attach correctly so when you place sponges or brushes in it the water leaks down the inside of the cabinet. Will be removing them and hopefully test to fix it or search something else.

These were simple to install. But disappointed once we got them installed. The bottom corners don’t attach correctly so when you place sponges or brushes in it the water leaks down the inside of the cabinet. Will be removing them and hopefully test to fix it or search something else.

This is the best idea my husband has since he married me. Excellent put for our toothbrush and toothpaste in bathroom. We hold sponges in the one in our kitchen.

The hinges and metal insert itself are fine IF you can obtain it installed correctly. The problem is the instructions refer to a template which wasn't included - others have stated the same thing. This is a huge failure on the part of Rev-a-Shelf. There isn't much room for error so if you're not drilling the pilot holes correctly everything else won't line up and it won't close cleanly. What should have been a fast 20 minute install took much longer leading to frustration & requiring to measure multiple times before drilling. BTW, toss out the instructions; they're garbage. Instead, you tube: rev a shelf installation - AdamDIY has a decent install video on this.

This shelf is awesome! Especially when you add the close hinges ( The installation really required either two people or one person with three hands to keep everything together while attaching, but it went together well and I like having the additional storage by the sink.

Came with standard hinges vs close... major disappointment. A lot of customer reviews indicated close. Have used the close elsewhere and they do create a difference. Manufacturer's customer service could have been a bit more supportive, perhaps offering an exchange. Unfortunately, their position was the tray comes with standard hinges and the misleading customer reviews are Amazon's problem.
