Grabbed one for $15. Satisfied with that but release would have been severely overpriced,.I think Sphero was listening when people said create a controller so we’re not tying up our devices, unfortunately we kind of meant a little handheld screen dedicated to solely Sphero droids, not a wrist mount that lets you drive and steer with exaggerated power ranger moves. Personally I’ll just use my Apple Watch where I can choose a droid then obtain a full screen joystick I can drive around just tracing directions on the watch ween the lukewarm reception, them flat out giving them away with droids, and now just a $15 flat cost, it’s obvious these didn’t fill the need. Even in the Sphero droids application force band is almost an afterthought. You can connect to it and place it to sleep, but can’t do any of the band activities, you have to begin it’s own mething none of the other Star Battles sphero the application it’s mainly guides disguised as android games with the exception of the Holocron vault where you set your band to force sensitive, wait for the haptic feedback and Jedi voice telling you to find the force for a nearby holocron and it’s a Pokémon go emulator. Some holocrons produce armory cards that you can set your band to use, create exaggerated pew pew motions and you can hear Han’s DL-44 pistol firing, change it, wave an arm and hear Rey’s lightsaber swingingPros, it works, send your droid away, call it back, steer by waving your arms. Downside, it’s a mute drone. No emotes with the ce Star wars-esque design, clever magnetic buckle and well tailored cloth Velcro strap, weathering is nice, honestly a decent small add on prop for cosplay or Halloween especially using the sound effects, someone could swing a dummy saber and obtain the sweet lightsaber effectsIf you collect the Sphero Star Battles line and wish the complete line, if you wish a decent looking small Star Battles prop with surprisingly loud effects, for $15, grab one.If you wish a method to control your droid without tying up your device, it marginally does that. Again, no sounds , (especially with BB-8 that produces all sounds through your now closed app) at least Artoo will randomly play an emote or some random chatter, but you won’t control emotes at t sorry I bought it, the design looks good, but I’ll use my Apple Watch to control it or just a 7” smartphone just for sphero. This wasn’t what fans and collectors asked for.
Honestly a amazing product. My 8 year old loves using it in different modes with either his sphero R2D2 or a toy lightsaber. The largest plus was that it allows him to play without carrying a phone or smartphone around to control the droid. Has been hours of fun since christmas and he actually remembers to charge them on his own for the next play session.
This seems like the method that BB-8 should have been being controlled all along!!!I got the original BB-8 latest year when it was first released, and I've truly enjoyed using it with the application on my phone. However, when I saw that the Force Band was finally being released, I pre-ordered it right away. After having it for 10 days now I have to say I'm extremely satisfied with the works EXACTLY as advertised. Force Push forward to obtain rolling...lower your arm to slow down and stop. Bring your hand back towards you in a "Come Here" type of motion, and BB-8 will roll backwards. Turn by basically simply pointing left or right.I will say that this takes a bit of getting used to. My initial uses all resulted in what seemed like a series of uncoordinated crashes while I flailed about like a maniac. However, after some practice I was controlling BB-8 like a Jedi Apprentice...with more and more skills developing as I practice more and more.I've used the Force Band in it's other modes much more limitedly. I've only collected a couple of Holocrons, so I don't have a ton of experience doing that...however, it does work as shown in the Guide videos. I've also only used it for "Combat Training" a couple of times. It works well in this mode, also. I could see the Combat Training being something that children could really obtain into, considering the sound effects react really well to your arm movements. It would add a cool element to light saber and blaster battles.Overall, I'm really satisfied with the Force Band. It meets all of my expectations, and does everything it says it does...and does it well.
I absolutely love this band!!! You don’t necessarily need the B.B.-8 droid to have fun with this. This allows you to feel around for holocrons, unblock characters, even cool weapons from the saga!!! You can even do a guide with B.B. 8 on your phone if you can’t afford him at the moment. You can loosen the band and tighten it to fit exactly how huge or little your wrist is. Definitely would recommend this
I ordered this to go with these feral robot to give to my five-year-old stepson for Christmas. There is a learning curve to obtain it working, and oddly there are no discernible instructions included. As my husband struggled, my five-year-old stepson decided he could do better on his own – and he did! I purchased the robot itself through Sears because the is so much lower than anywhere else I found. This feral robot is actually about 6 inches tall, in spite of all the advertisements making it look like it’s as huge as a toddler. No huge though he has a amazing time playing with it. I do not think the product would be very valuable for a kid any older than six, as I have several kids and the older ones have expressed no interest in it whatsoever.
Like most of Sphero's licensed Star Battles products, this is another cool idea that is at best gimmicky and at worst a failure in execution. It comes close, but ultimately is cumbersome, weak, erratic, and unpredictable. Like Sphero's BB-8 and R2-D2 app-connected "droids," it's another mildly amusing novelty that's amazing for maybe two plays before it's place away in a drawer and forgotten. As an inert Star Battles costume accessory, however, it's GREAT. Thank goodness it was only $13.
Works amazing with Sphero BB-8, and makes playing with it an even better experience. I purchased the droid and band for a 3 year old, and it's more fun to use hand motion than controlling the droid via the phone. The band was able to adjust down to his wrist (normal size, 50% weight), no problems with the band being too loose.
The Force Band Application works amazing and is a lot of fun! The updates being bothersome, the size of these files have a irritating tendency to be huge, utilizing ur phone's internal storage and usually take 15 mins to download. If it weren't for the updates, I would be giving this otherwise unbelievable Application 5 Stars! Additionally, if you were to pair the Star Battles Force Band with the Star Battles BB-8 Droid(sold separately)it antes up the fun factor by a hundred!! Both compliment each other beautifully.
amazing it's fun and a amazing time assassin I love sphero's robots and the only thing I think yal should add is a cloud saving it's just an idea I owned my force band for over a year and I collected almost all the holocrons and it didn't save it to the application if I delete it I have to look for em all over again it's fun instagram but it would be cool if it has cloud saving can't wait til yal post more about sphero's home i was an interesting project
I have to much control the band is more strong than i thought im glad that i have been chosen for jedi training but every holocron that gave me a weapon i felt more strong i think i wish more like a farm or a town and if i wish to than the universe no i cant allow the band control me signing out
Amazing application that gives sufficient info on how to use the force band. The only issue I'm having is the application not fitting my entire screen. I have a J4+ and this is beautiful much the only application that doesn't run full screen. I would create it 5/5 if it ran full screen.
My rating is high because we have had it from lauch no problems or issues . But I am disappointed that with all the fresh Star Battles Movies we have not had an modernize . No fresh Holocrons to collect . We only need to search one more weapon and we are finished .
