The Cancer Solution: The revolutionary, scientifically proven program for the prevention and treatment of cancer (Cancer diet, Healing cancer) []  2021-3-1 19:46

The obesity rates in America are epidemic, which lead to diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, among a lot of other diseases, all of which are lifestyle-related. We seem obsessed with foods that are simply poor for our health, yet we hold gorging on them, and our government keeps encouraging it! Nowhere are we being encouraged to consume wholesome fruits and vegetables, the very foods that nature intended us to eat. This book, The Cancer Solution, addresses one of the most dreaded diseases of our lifetimes, in a readable, entertaining, and approachable manner. It discusses in plain language what happens to our bodies on the current American diet, and what CAN happen with a diet of fruits and vegetables. It contains lifestyle recommendations, such as rest and stress relief. A whole lifestyle approach to one of man's (and woman's) worst afflictions. Very well written, and highly recommended.

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

Wonderfully written book about the intersection of addiction and spirituality. The chapter on the mind (psychological dependence) is the best and most thorough description I've ever read of what happens in the mind of an addict. His background is Christian, but he takes an begin and inclusive perspective on spirituality and religion.

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

This book has a unbelievable gentle spirit discussing a subject that is increasingly prevalent in society. This spirit created the book so enjoyable to s, I read it hoping to obtain a fast fix to the different addictions that have too amazing a keep in my life, however, having now read a number of books on the topic, have come to realise that indeed there is no fast fix. I loved May's view that in fact it's through our addictive natures that we can learn to depend on God more and through that dependence, can gain a degree of freedom from addiction whilst experiencing intimacy with our ere were a number of points that I took away from the book:- everyone has addictions. It's inherent in our DNA, almost. Idolatry to something or somebody, which is what addiction is, is now part and parcel of being human.- just like Paul and his "thorn in his side", when we surrender our "thorn" to God, His "grace is sufficient" to overcome the temptation. In continually surrendering, we develop muscle that makes it a small easier to resist, that's the power of grace.- I particularly liked the stories about the 3 individuals who were able to go "cold-turkey" - they just chose to say no, they didn't entertain the temptation, didn't seek a substitute, just surrendered allowing "grace" to do its work.I did search it a challenging read and think I need to read a few more times to fully understand it all.I highly recommend it.

MARIJUANA KILLED MY CANCER and is keeping me cancer-free: Step-by-step guide how to kill your cancer with cannabis. The healing miracle of CBD plus THC []  2020-1-21 20:15

This book is great. It had detailed, helpful information. My husband Ray has scene 4 lung cancer. He began using the SHORAK oils in August when he began this round of chemo. He is feeling SO MUCH better tolerating the chemo side effects with the oil than he did during the latest chemo round without the oil. A picture is worth a thousand words. The picture of the bald worn out looking guy is from October 2015. I took the other picture yesterday (October 18, 2016) during his chemo treatment. What a difference! Thank god for the SHORAK cannabis oil!

MARIJUANA KILLED MY CANCER and is keeping me cancer-free: Step-by-step guide how to kill your cancer with cannabis. The healing miracle of CBD plus THC []  2020-9-3 18:32

Very amazing book but HATE THE TITLE. The word "killed" implies the cancer was killed or cured forever. Cannabis DOESN'T cure!Canbabis modulates the ECS (EndoCannabinoid System). The phyto cannabinoids from the plant are almost a excellent match for the EndoCannabinoids the brain makes (Anandamide, and 2AG just to name two of the EndoCannabinoids.)Cannabis will not cure Alzheimer's, MS, Cancer, Crohn's, Lupus, Parkinson's, etc but it will suspend the disease temporarily. But if your supply was to be chop off the disease would come back. Even Rick Simpson in "Phoenix Tears: Natures Respond to Cancer" said after removing the cancer they have to take a maintenance dose once a week to hold the cancer in remissionSomeone will say but "Marijuana is a risky . It must be on schedule 1 for a reason!"The true reason cannabis is a schedule 1 rests at the feet of two men.Harry J. Anslinger. Director of National Bureau Of Narcotics. He was a racist bigot who told an poor lot of lies about the plant just because Blacks, Mexicans, and Musicians enjoyed it. He told these lies because he wanted more political power for the bureau he was in charge e second man was William Rabdolph Hearst. He had invested in $millions in tracts of lumber. He wanted to create newspaper paper out of trees. He knew that marijuana was permitted to expand you could create a lot more paper from marijuana plants than you could obtain from the same size tract of tually pharmaceutical companies created medicine from marijuana here in America from 1850-1937. Send me an email and I will send you pictures of antique medicine bottles prepared by Eli Lilly, Park Davis, and others, and all of these medicines contained tually cannabis is safer than coffee.Let me tell you EXACTLY how risky Marijuana vin Rosenfeld was diagnosed with over 200 bone tumors when he was 10 years old. They hoped he would survive to be a teenager. He is 65 or 66 years old now.During college they were passing a joint and he took a hit or two and it gave more relief than all the medicine he had 1982 he convinced the FDA that marijuana provided more relief than Dilaudin, and all his muscle relaxers.Every month the DEA sends a tin of 300 or so e point is that for 37 years he has smoked 10-12 joints EVERY SINGLE DAY! Think of the thousands and thousands of joints he has smoked in 37 years. Doesn't sound that risky to IS NOT YOUR FAULT! Assorted Government officials have been lying about this plant for 82 years! In fact I used to be exactly like you.I used to think medical marijuana was a complete farce! Allow me tell you how I went from despising marijuana to becoming an advocate for decriminalization.2005 diagnosed with Crohn's disease.2013 moved to Arizona, and had to search a Crohn's doctor. We talked about medications, lack of results and the horrible side effects.Dr. W told me of the Israeli study with 22 Crohn's patients treated with cannabis and about half of the patients went into this point I thought my doctor HAD LOST HIS MIND!About two weeks go by and I am screaming from the pain. Next morning a neighbor knocks on the door and slipped me 2-3 grams of weed. My doctor recommended it, and now I have weed. My asthma won't let me to smoke, so I created a tincture by dropping the ground material in a little bottle of Rum.I took 15 ml of the tincture before bed, and one day the truth hit me between the eyes, I HAD GONE SYMPTOM FREE FOR TWO WEEKS! When the pharmaceuticals couldn't allow me have 4 days of relief! So I got an MMJ CARD and have used cannabis as my medicine for 6 years. It took time to search strains that worked, the correct dose, etcSince November 2016 I have only had four mild flares in almost 2 3/4 ere is a lethal dose with MMJ but you have to smoke over half a ton in less than an ck to this e author discusses four methods of using cannabisSmokingVapingEdiblesCannabis of the best ways to obtain full dose because stomach acids break down part of the oil, and another part is absorbed in immune system. If your life is on the line fill capsules with oil and in the back door even though the thought is off putting.Location 907 CBD From hemp and CBD from marijuana are NOT THE SAME.CBD IS law CBD oil can have no more than .3% THC.CBD is usually a distillate. The Only difference between the two CBD is the marijuana created CBD will have a lot more THC in a whole plant extractLocation 916 two researchers in Israel Raphael Mecoulam and Ben-Shabat talk about the entourage result and how cannabinoids work better together.I fully accept the entourage effect. I consider Dr. Raphael Mecoulam one of my heroes!I agree higher THC would be much better for cancer patients. BUT... His point is moot. I bet you didn't know 10 mg THC offers the same pain relief of 60 mg Codeine.Until cannabis is moved to schedule 2 or better yet 3 we have to place up with the Governments regulations on the level of THC in CBD oil because of the schedule 1 statusLocation 998 I use only meal grade alcohol as solvent. Or 91% IsopropylThis works but there are much better ways. 95% ethanol only gets a yield of 12.5-14%.With 99% isopropyl I often got 17.8-24.5% yield. I used the QWISO (Quick Wash ISOpropyl) way with 99% Swan Isopropyl for a year when my MMJ card was lost in the mail; and could not visit dispensaries.Swan 99% ISO is 99% isopropyl and 1% water. I firmly believe that 99% ISO is more effective dissolving cannabinoids than butane. I had some strains yield 24.5% and that is twice as much medicine you can extract with Everclear 95% grain alcohol. I always got at least 40-50% more than with Everclear. Even on very old buds far too dry to meone will report this review saying "ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL WILL KILL YOU!!!" And they're right. If you test to drink isopropyl it will destroy your liver. However if you are VERY CAREFUL you can safely use cannabinoids extracted with isopropyl. Even Rick Simpson recommended Namptha, grain alcohol, and 99% isopropyl in his book Phoenix Tears: Nature's Respond to Cancer "Allow me to say something about Namptha. This would be the option ONLY IF THATS ALL YOU CAN GET! Namptha is known to include cancer causing molecules.I am living proof that isopropyl can be completely purged and safely 's how to create sure the isopropyl has been purged.1. The nose. If you smell ISO it isn't ready2. When you no longer smell alcohol obtain a bit of the oil on a a wire and watch closely as you burn the oil. If you see sparks or the oil pops it isn't ready.3. When the oil only bubbles after coming into a flame it's ready so fill your syringes.Location 1164 Over and over patients hold asking why they cannot simply take the all the oil in one single dose,This is not a amazing idea because high doses of cannabis causes the EndoCannabinoid System to down regulate the EndoCannabinoid receptors and the body can't absorb that much oil. Remember the story the Tortoise and the hare? Slow and steady wins the race.Location 1208 Hemp seed oil is easily available in health meal stores.. My preferred brand is Nutiva OrganicHemp oil. A 24-ounce bottle sells for $ 20.68 on Amazon.I completely agree. Nutiva is a GREAT hemp seed oil. I use this in put of olive oil in my salad dressings.Location 1936 Young Senior seedling—the shape of the leaves shows the powerful ruderalis influence.I agree completely. Strains with Ruderalis genetics are the very best strains for MMJ patients for several reasons.1. Harvest in 60-75 days after seedling stage.2. Less nutrients needed3. Can grow to harvest usually in 3 gallon pot.4. Less weight to move around when in pain5. Easier to take care of.6. Grow seedlings, vegetative and flowering phases in same room.7. Set the lights to 18 hours on and 6 hours dark8. Ruderalis has more CBD than BOTH indica and Sativa subspecies9. The higher CBD will modulate the result of THC and reduce negative effects of THC

MARIJUANA KILLED MY CANCER and is keeping me cancer-free: Step-by-step guide how to kill your cancer with cannabis. The healing miracle of CBD plus THC []  2020-9-3 18:32

I bought the book because I would like to learn how the author exactly cured his cancer with Marijuana. Disappointing, the book does not provide any info about how this helped his cancer. For instance, you will not learn what exactly he used in what dosage, how this helped his cancer, what else he used during his recovery etc. It seems to me that the book tries to explain merely some basics about medical marijuana and offers author's OPINIONS about how to use Marijuana preparations. In the end of his book, then he talks a lot about his own brand of medical marijuana, making you feel that he is advertising for his product.

I bought this book, maybe as the number 50th book about cancer since my wife now 5 years ago, after mammography was informed in one of her breasts having a tumor on a bit less than 1/3 of an inch. And then by the Chiang Mai doctors was told that if both of her breast, wasn’t removed within a week, then she would e was scared by the doctors, and wouldn’t believe me when I told her that the doctors’ word was nonsense, and the surgery was done 2 days later. Later one day, home again after being to a later control in the hospital, she told me that this day 32 women with breast cancer was trough surgery and that all had bout of their breasts removed. And after this I’ve be reading extremely a lot of books about cancer, cholesterol (also a case concerning my wife), and so on. And more and more realizing not blindly to trust the doctors’ e book is very interesting, and helpful, by giving us the knowledge which Erika and her son have earned since they started with her sons us of cannabis, as surgery and all of the other normal told methods hadn’t worked. And in the book, we learn how they tried whit letting him obtain the cannabis in each of the possibly ways, for thereby search out which would be the best to use, both concerning effect and the work job.And for example, concerning the vaporizing of the cannabis, telling by which temperature we give for getting respectively the THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD (cannabidiol), CBN, and the CBC. And while the THC is release by the lowest temperature 284° – 320°F (140° – 160°C), while CBC at the highest, respectively 428°F (220C), therefore first take the THC.And besides telling us how various we can be feeling, or behaving, depending on which of these cannabises, THC --- CBC, we currently have ingested. But need all of the for getting the best war versus the introduction to the book, and again from side 73, she writes that a lot of people won’t believe that the cannabis can cure cancer, and don’t wish to try, if they themselves are suffering in having cancer. Fine, she writes. So, it’s up to them if they instead wish to suffer by having pain until they die by their actual cancer. Around me I have met a lot of persons who belong to this group of people which she mentions, even a doctor to whom I came, who latest year died by cancer in the age of only 45 years.Opposite to this group of persons we in the book read a lot of interesting letters which Erika received from cured persons, and read about how the how the processes went on during the time until they were cure from cancer, and other diseases. And sometime unexpected also besides being cured for other together and perfect book, which I will hold as a bible concerning the cure for cancer, and a lot of other diseases.

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

I will preface this review by saying that there is no "magic" cure to addiction, IMHO. However, I ordered this book and had Amazon send it directly to my brother who is in a -treatment program housed at our county jail facility. He has always been very resistant to support until he got in problem with the law and hit rock bottom. My middle-class family has had a tendency to be enablers to his behavior over the years. I was the first to say "no" and provide help in the form of "tough love". It was a pivotal moment and one of the toughest things I ever had to do in my life (report my brother's crime leading to his arrest), the effect of which was this court-ordered treatment program. That said, it was THIS book that really got his attention. Having been raised in a Christian home, the values and principles of the Bible were inherently necessary to his recovery. After reading this book, my brother has had so much clarity in his thinking. I've literally watched the anger, resentment, and bitterness melt off of his face these past 2 months. I cannot attribute it all to this book, but I will say that it has gained quite a bit of popularity in the jail. Other inmates shared this copy and some have even asked their family members to order it for them because they've read pages or heard from others how unbelievable it is. My brother has actually been able to discuss parts of the book and reference his own struggles and what it meant to him. His addiction counselors have taken an interest in the book as well. They see the difference in him, too. I recognize the changes are due to a combination of things: the book, the program, his surroundings (you obviously can't 'use' in jail), and, most importantly, his desire/willingness to obtain better. I've felt so amazing about what this book has done for my brother, I'm ordering a copy for myself. Other reviews have stated that this is helpful for loved ones of an addicted family member. I plan to share with my mother, father, and teenage daughter. I'm also purchasing a copy to donate to the jail facility/treatment program to have on hand in the library. One of the best purchases ever made!!

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

The late Gerald May was a psychiatrist who dealt extensively with his patients' (and his own) addictions. I'm not sure what he died from, but he admits in the book that he's a massive smoker. He uses some of his own physical and psychological addictions to say, in effect, "I've got my own addictions, and just about every human being walking the planet does. Until we recognize that fact, and let ourselves the grace to be in that recognition, we'll never be able to wrestle with our addictions."For those who wish a long chapter on the neurochemistry of addiction, that's here too.

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

In just over two decades this book has become a classic in understanding what addiction is, how it works, why addictions occur, the ingredients of an addiction, and what must be done in overcoming one. Dr. May talks about addictions from coffee to the other end of the spectrum. He shows us that we all have them. They do not have to be life-threatening, although a lot of a medical doctor, he shows that addictions are not just a mental challenge that must be surmounted. There are physical, neurological and spiritual components that enter into the whole mix.I initially bought this book in the late eighties to test to better understand the issue of alcoholism in my family. I have to say, I got what I wanted. I also got to take a better look at myself and what makes me tick. Each reading of this is very new. However, it is also a amazing reference book to hold handy to support others in need. I have used it hundreds of times in this manner.I have likened it a lot of times to  The Confessions of St. Augustine  and his speaking of his own addictions. To paraphrase him, he said addictions are a perversion of any of our passions, which then obtain out of hand: we go from an evil, to a habit, to a compulsion and then to a necessity. At one point, he calls it the "Law of Sin," which he gets from Saint Paul's Letters to the Romans (and Galatians). He gives a amazing definition too! He says, "the law of sin is the fierce force of habit, by which the mind is drawn and held even versus its will, and yet deservedly because it had fallen willfully into the habit" (Book 8, 5 in the Frank Sheed translation shown above).Like Augustine, like any 12-step program, Dr. May shows that there is a dimension in recovery that is beyond ourselves. Augustine saw it as Christ, the "... Anonymous" programs see it as a Higher Power, Dr. May calls it "Grace." Because of this dimension, this is not only a helpful, but also a amazing spiritual read that can benefit almost anyone.I've liked the hardcover, because it serves one well over the years. It's not a poor idea to hold a few used paperback copies around to give away. They're cheap enough! I've given away tons of copies along the way, and will probably continue to do so.

In fact, most family & mates who used conventional treatments suffered greatly, then died from side effects of the treatments, NOT the CANCER..So, I'll search a Dr who will accept my doing this. I read this book as well as two written by Mr. Rick Simpson that primarily deals with the making of real “home made” fully concentrated cannabis oil to treat cancer. This book however uses what I feel may be a better and safer method to extract the oil in ita raw thick fully concentrated form without the use of a petroleum product.

I know several people who have successfully done alternative treatments, including one who suggested this book and method.I don't believe that poisoning the body is the best option. In fact, most family & mates who used conventional treatments suffered greatly, then died from side effects of the treatments, NOT the CANCER..So, I'll search a Dr who will accept my doing this. More to come.

There are tons of amazing or not so amazing books that are making the same claims, but this book is different. It is special because (a) it is based upon the author's private experiences in curing himself and (b) it lists the testimonials of other prople who have also been cured, including who had been given up as incurable by their doctors. This is a practical book. It explains which strains work better for cancer than others, and how to choose the best delivery method- smoking, vaporizing, edibles, etc... It illuminates why oil seems to be superior for cancer treatment and it lists step-by-step how to create your own oil. This means that you don't have to find through tons and tons of You Tube videos and forums. Using this book as guide. you can begin making your own medicine instantly. The author contains a lot of hints and tricks based upon several years of making cannabis oil. If you have just recently been diagnosed with cancer, this book is extremely valuable because it provides you with a much broader view of your options.I Love It!!!!! Bobby Bell

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

Didn't finish this yet. Competing priorities. The reason I give this 5 stars is that this author does not focus on substance abuse as regards addiction, but looks at it as a life situation that rules all aspects of a person's life, not just the 12 step dozens of issues. This is the most honest rendition of addiction as a mental health problem I've come across and it is refreshing. Even people in medicine don't know what addiction is (MDs, nurses, you name it), but this author has it nailed in a non-judgmental simple to read and understand way. Refreshing and useful book. Also, Grace isn't connected to some orthodox religion thankfully. He speaks to Grace in its higher aspects as addiction and Grace are opposite sides of the same coin. Nicely done.

I have used it hundreds of times in this manner.I have likened it a lot of times to the Confessions of Saint Augustine and his speaking of his own addictions. He says, "the law of sin is the fierce force of habit, by which the mind is drawn and held even versus its will, and yet deservedly because it had fallen willfully into the habit" (Book 8, 5 Frank Sheed translation).Like Augustine, like any 12-step program, Dr.

Addiction and Grace: Love and Spirituality in the Healing of Addictions []  2020-12-18 21:11

WHAT READERS CAN LEARN FROM THIS BOOKSPIRITUAL EXPERIENCEAt one time, the author worked as a director of a community abuse clinic. He applied his best psychiatric methods to the treatment of addictions. None of them worked. After embarking on some informal research, he identified some people who had overcome serious addictions to alcohol and other . All of them had some sort of spiritual E NATURE OF ADDICTIONThe five characteristics of addictions are(1) toleranceIn order to combat her stuffiness, Sally took nose ey caused her nose to be stuffier than ever before. Why?It was NOT because she did not take enough drops, or for a long enough period of time, or because she was allergic to e nose drops contained decongestant chemicals. Her body, trying to restore its balance, produced more congestants, thus making her nose stuffier than ever. Her body developed "tolerance" to the decongestants, rendering them ineffective. Sally would have to hold using more drops for temporary relief, until her body developed tolerance for this higher level.(2) withdrawal symptomsOne's body experiences hyperactivity after withdrawal from alcohol and lethargy after withdrawal from stimulants. This is called the rebound or backlash effect.(3) self-deceptionWhen a drinker says, “What I'll do is go and drink and drink until I obtain sick of it, and then I'll really wish to quit,” this self-deceptive technique is called a delaying tactic.(4) loss of willpower(5) and distortion of attention.HEALING ADDICTIONWhat is the only dedicated action that really counters addiction? It is NOTgetting support for an addictive personality, orstrengthening one's willpower, oridentifying the childhood trauma that led to the addictive is stopping the addictive LTI-SYSTEM CHANGESStopping addictive behavior requires changes in more than one zone of one's life.Examples includeA person trying to be less attached to cash stops listening to the stock shop reports several times a order to stay sober, a recovering alcoholic decides to not associate with previous previous drinking buddies. An over-eater quits his job at a fast-food E IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL EXERCISEExercise produces the same symptoms as stress – increased heart rate, increase sweating, faster breathing. This helps one's body answer to stress symptoms with a greater familiarity and increases one's serotonin which increases provides more blood flow to the brain, promoting more rational provides relief and a change of pace from one's hectic schedule."RECOVERING" not "RECOVERED"People in Alcoholics Anonymous call themselves "recovering" alcoholics because they realize that their brain never completely forgets what it has learned and that even after years of sobriety, the addiction can return with even the slightest TACHMENTSIn a spiritual sense, attachments are anything that become more necessary to us than our culture, the three gods we trust for security are possessions, power, and human nstance Fitzgerald calls the process of withdrawing from our attachments and finding our home in God transformation of desire. Spiritual growth is primarily about relinquishing unhealthy is is found in Christ's teachings in the book of Matthew."No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other." (6:24)"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of Me." (10:37)GRACE and WILL in OVERCOMING ADDICTIONGrace is the active expression of God's love, like a mother's love for her baby.Even when our choices are destructive and their consequences are hurtful, God's love remains diction cannot be defeated by the human will acting on its own, but by the human will choosing to act in harmony with divine will, like Jesus did when He responded to Satan's temptations in the desert by quoting Scripture (Matthew 4).Through deliverance, a lot of of the systems associated with the addictive behavior are enabled to relax, and the person ends up with a much simpler approach to the addictive opping every addictive behavior boils down to this:Don't do it, refuse to do it, and hold refusing to do it.

Dr. May has written a seminal book on addiction. He covers all of the bases in terms of the spiritual, physical, emotional, psychological and mental aspects of addiction. He writes with amazing knowledge and with amazing humility. I search that a amazing strength of the book is his emphasis on the spiritual aspects of addiction.I have read the book three times over the past ten years, and annually returned to it for understanding and inspiration. One understands and absorbs more from each reading. The essential truths described within are not outdated. This book is one of the essential and core readings in understanding and responding to compulsions and addictions within all of us.

(A must-read book for anyone who has just been diagnosed with cancer) This is a well written and researched bookthat covers all the aspects of using cannabis oil for curing cancer. Bobby Bell

In fact, most family & mates who used conventional treatments suffered greatly, then died from side effects of the treatments, NOT the CANCER..So, I'll search a Dr who will accept my doing this. The book is almost 900 pages in length. I am currently on page 350 and can't place it down. It is as technically informative as an Alberts Biology book and as intense a read as any of the amazing Stephen King Novels. Weinberg recommends that the book be read from begin to finish and not to jump around. It does seem reading from beginning to end really is the best method to absorb the material. I just want I could read faster to explore what is coming up sooner. Weinberg does a attractive job. The figures are informative. The photos are beautiful. The accompanying films are interesting. I estimate that it will take me about 4 to 6 months to read the entire book if I read a chapter (60+ pages) every 1 to 1.5 weeks. You could read it faster if pushed to do the reading while taking a class or were extremely motivated.

Definitely the right textbook for a comprehensive introduction to cancer. Like a giant review article, but with more breathing room to go into historical experiments and explain how we have arrived at the current understanding of cancer. And, lots of perfect illustrations and micrographs. You are getting more than a typical textbook; it is more like a work of literature. "Sidebars" are used often for things to read if you have the time.If you are not an expert in cell biology, the book takes care to explain concepts in the context of cancer; for example, it gives a primer on the immune system at the beginning of the immunology te, this is not a textbook of cancers or pathology, but of our current understanding of how all cancers work, mostly at the molecular level. I am reading this as a medical student and for that purpose, it is both too long and missing the pathology that I need, but I don't regret it. Like I said, this textbook is more about providing a complete and up-to-date understanding for the science-minded individual. On that basis I can recommend it to an enthusiastic undergraduate.

I hesitated to purchase this book because I couldn't imagine that a scholarly work that deals comprehensively with such a complex topic could be accessible. I thought that it might be useful as a reference but but otherwise unreadable. I pictured a dull book that would be mired in info and filled with jargon. Wrong! At times, the book reads like a detective novel. It develops a lot of subjects historically and asks the reader to picture what the scientific community's thoughts and predictions were prior to key experiments and technical innovations. You often obtain swept up in the story as extra data are introduced. I sometimes found my self trying to guess which of the offered interpretations was the proper one before it gets revealed in the next paragraph. Altogether, Dr. Weinberg is to be commended for performing an almost impossible feat: revealing the info of carcinogenesis and, at the same time telling a fascinating tale of scientific ere's more amazing stuff. The book is beautifully and profusely illustrated. The writing style is clear, to the point, and free of clutter. There's a comprehensive list of abbreviations and gene names in the back. Each chapter ends with a list of key concepts that are worth the price of admission by themselves.I highly recommend the book to those with a reasonable background in molecular biology who wish an exciting, fascinating, yet exhaustive take on the biology of cancer.

With the name Weinberg on the book, you will obtain to know the book will be well organized and illustrated. This one is much more various from the first edition published on the year 2006. After reading the updated ver of " Hallmarks of cancer", if you think you need more, you must read this book, and pls be aware that this book come up with a poster as can be seen in my photos. If your are interested in the molecular mechanism underlying the progress of cancer, I really suggested you to read this one, as you will search this book informative with emphasize on the gene instability and mutations. However, if you wish to obtain a comprehensive view of this area, pls refer to " the molecular basis of cancer (4th)", which is also very organized and tend to cover more aspects than this one. If you are MD, and wish to be more familiar to clinical similar applications, use another book "Devita, Hellman and Rosenberg's cancer principles...", they are more focusing on clinical practices. Overall, if this book will have a third edition, and I hope it will, I will buy one with no hesitation.

The biology of cancer-first edition by Prof. R. A. Weinberg was an immediate hit. A masterpiece for clarity, sublime scholarship and style. The second edition has all of the qualities appreciated by the readers including a very solid chapters update. All chapters have been rewritten and fresh data added covering the recent trend in scientific literature. A DVD is included containing photos and e book is further enhanced by a process of revision and modernize that magically cover almost any aspect, including immunology, therapy and cell biology. Prof. Weinberg is popular for scientific articles with a clear and incisive prose and the book offers all the nuances of his style. In addition, subjects are extremely well integrated. Students and scientists will be satisfied to see how chapters are offering superlative insights with a special perspective of the field. I was waiting the second edition for several years. And I am surprised to see how a masterpiece morphed into another one. Photos and printing are state of the art.

I have read the book twice during my Ph D, the first time in the initial scene (version 1) and the second time when finishing (version 2). I bought a book of my own because I am reading it for the third time and I wish to create marks on the book directly. Undoubtedly this is the best book for cancer biology!1. It's suitable for all levels of readers, from new graduate students, senior graduate students, postdocs to even PIs.2. It's very comprehensive, including basics and cutting-edge advances.3. It's written in plain languages. Clearly, the author has spent efforts to consider how well the readers will absorb, rather than being arrogant and lecturing.4. there is internal cohesion between the chapters. This is a typical advantage when the book is written by only one author. In the end, when finishing reading all, you will search everything makes so much sense when they are place together.5. I particularly like the latest chapter, a synopsis of rational design of therapeutics based on the mechanisms discussed in the previous chapters.

When Healing Becomes a Crime: The Amazing Story of the Hoxsey Cancer Clinics and the Return of Alternative Therapies []  2020-1-22 19:48

I was in most respects very impressed by this book. Ausubel did a amazing deal of meticulous research in order to tell the complete story of Harry Hoxsey's (and his successor's) efforts to bring his cancer remedy to mankind. He is a very careful, conscientious investigative jounalist. Ausubel puts the story in the context of a centuries-long battle between allopathic and empiric medicine. He covers all of the bases and is extremely informative. Ausubel is also a fine, clever writer. Having said all of this, it is very tempting to give the book 5 stars. I would except Ausubel ultimately makes one mistake which detracts from his amazing history and spite all of the evidence of how corrupt the medical establishment is and the degree to which the regulators have derailed promising alternatives, Ausubel still pins his hope on bureaucrats conducting or overseeing valid medical research which will ultimately determine the appropriate direction for cancer treatment. However, central planning never works, not in the Soviet Union and not in determining medical practice in the U.S. While Ausubel does give it some exposure, he does not enthusiastically endorse the only practical solution to advancing the state of medicine: a genuine free market, where patients can go to whatever type of doctor they wish to and use any type of treatment they choose. And where insurance companies are allowed to decide which types of treatments they will or will not cover, whether "orthodox" or alternative. Only medical freedom will let encouraging alternatives to thrive and for advances in treatments to replace protocols which are seriously lacking. What about quackery you say? Well, a lot of of the treatments in use today are quackery by any objective standard, so we are not talking about some dreadful contingency, but the reality of today's regulated system / protection racket. And given complete freedom, we would see independent labs conduct their own investigations to determine which treatments to recommend and certify, much as we have organizations like Consumer's Union and Underwriters Laboratories doing in their domains.

This is an wonderful book that should be read by anyone interested in natural healing or by anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer. The key thing to remember here is that Hoxsey's formula, which he used to successfully treat thousands of cases of cancer, was 70 percent potassium iodide. Endocrine cancers such as breast, ovarian, and prostate, answer incredibly well to supplemental iodine, such as Lugols iodine or potassium iodide. I would also suggest reading Lynne Farrow's book, 'The Iodine Crisis'

A mate of mine had this and I started paging through it. I was amazed I had not heard of Dr. Hoxsey, even though I am very familiar with Dr. Gerson and their clinics as well as other proven "alternative" therapies involving cannabis and CBD oil such as is offered in some states that let medical cannabis or legalization outright of e story of the issues with the FDA and the cancer industry's whitewashing Dr Hoxse's PROVEN cancer CURES, solidifies my distaste, mistrust, and contempt for the FDA and the cancer industry. It's a sad state when the ONLY cancer treatments most people are aware of are more deadly than the cancers. Also, read Ralph Moss's book, "The Cancer Industry". You'll NEVER "run / walk for the cure" again (because the best, least expensive cures are already KNOWN-but censored by the very groups that continue to beg for cash to waste). It's all about the money, folks. Learn how to PREVENT sickness and diseases, rather than depend on a totally corrupt medical system that only wants to hold you sick so they can "treat" you to death. Amazing luck!

This is one of the finest books I have ever read in my life! Throughly researched, immaculately doented and written with such creative skill which stands as a quite rare combination in todays publishing world. This story is totally engrossing and stands as a bright beacon of light to the life, struggle and ultimate triumph of Harry Hoxsey over the "High Priests of Medicine" who rule over the AMA, FDA and halls of power in our government. The Bible tells us that "the love of cash is the root of all evil", and nowhere is that truth more evident than in the medical industry who seem to value money, power and prestige over the lives and well being of their fellow human beings. That is an absolute shame before God.With my mother having been diagnosed recently with pancreatic cancer (one of the most deadly types), I have tried to read and research as much as I possibly can on the different types of treatments and their success rates. The traditional treatments offer very small hope and the side effects are simply devastating-especially chemo and radiation. Allow these oncologists shoot that demonic poison into their own veins, I ar the end of the book, Ausubel writes that Hoxsey, near the end of his life, lamented that he "could have beaten" those very men that had opposed and persecuted him and his natural treatment for cancer-the scourge of the century. Well Mr. Hoxsey, every time you helped heal one of your patients while your were alive and every time a patient goes to the Bio-Medical Clinic in Mexico, uses your tonic and gets healed you do beat them! Even after nearly 40 years of your passing you have won and continue to baffle the foolish men that seek to hinder and hide God's natural healing methods- all without the horrific side-effects of man-made "medicines."Bravo Mr. Hoxsey and bravo Kenny Ausubel for writing such an necessary and enlightening book. Should be created into a maxi-series for TV. That would shake up the cancer industry a bit, I would think. If I had cancer, this is what I would do: Hoxsey tonic, vegan diet and hydrobaric chamber (oxygen) therapy. The rest is in God's Hands.

This is an impressively researched book that ought to be needed reading. Cancer has long been a cottage industry ruled by profit. AMA, FDA, Justice Dept. are all in bed together, and the American people are all the poorer for it. Hocksey's tonic for internal cancer and his salve for surface cancer are still as amazing or better than anything offered today after billions of dollars have been burned trying to excellent something that will turn a tidy profit for the medical industrial, pharmaceutical corporatocracy that rules medical "science." The U. of Chicago should be ashamed of itself for deifying Morris Fishbein (not to mention Milton Freedman). Read this book and learn what may save your life should you contact the cancer that we now know beyond doubt is environmental in origin. Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, just announced latest week that cancer research needs to be profit based. They don't even bother trying to hid their scams anymore. this book is worth reading for its perfect scholarship and to learn how medical "science" took a left turn method back in the 1920's and never recovered. Sad sad story and it is our story, all of ours, as we all know someone very personally who has been butchered and gouged for that butchering which only shortened their life and created a more horrific end than it had to be. If Hocksey were still practicing, or someone allowed to carry on what he started with his holistic, herb-based work, I have no doubt a lot of millions of people would be happier and healthier today.

This is a fascinating and very well doented story of how the government, the AMA, and the ACS all managed to use their power and influence to suppress the easy use of potassium iodide as an effective treatment for various cancers. The study of the a lot of personalities adds believability to to the intrigues brought about by the a lot of interests that occupy our politicized health r people that choose to take responsibility for their own life and health, it is a very informative collection of interesting biographies of a lot of well meaning, and some not so well meaning, contributors to the modern health care maze in which we have all come to live. It provides a welcome insight into the scientific and commercial overkill that interferes with every possible, non-patentable, treatment option for degenerative diseases. It opens one to consider some easy alternatives, ahead of the mega-expensive, invasive ones.

I am normally NOT a fan of doentary style books, but this is the exception. I ordered this book for my Kindle and downloaded it immediately. I was going to read a few chapters and then go do something else, but I couldn't place it down! I loved the book, and kept reading until I finished it. Presenting truth in a well-told story works well for this book. At first, I was irritated with Grace, but grew to love her the more I read, and the more she grew into the person she was meant to be.

The Seven Lives of Grace is captivating and a true page turner. The author creatively captures the essence of each hero and the role each plays in the life of the lead character, Grace. Grace acquires supernatural gifts, linked to colourful and enchanting mysterious stones, whose powers are illustrated by twists and turns in the storyline with more than a few surprises. Even with the boost from her fresh found powers, the lovely heroine must chart her own course with her choices concerning right and wrong, and set her moral compass to ensure she arrives at her Destiny. A amazing read!

An wonderful book. I couldn't place it down. This novel offers the most unbelievable synthesis of transformational principles I've read in years. Grace founders in a life that is at its worst. She doesn't take care of herself, is constantly worrying about her finances and allows her cirtances to stop her from achieving her dreams. Then, her aunt sends her an early birthday bonus and everything elest has crafted a beautiful, uplifting story that reminded me of THE ALCHEMIST but is more grounded in our contemporary experiences of life in the 21st century. The novel is beautifully presented with exquisite quotes for each section and a tale of transformation worthy of Cinderella. Absolutely loved it.And an additional bonus: well-written and a charm to read! Just awesome.

I'm typically a non-fiction reader but sprinkle some fiction in from time to time. This was such a fun story including love, mystery, and gentle moral/spiritual inspirations. The main hero is given an opportunity to discover different "powers" that I think we really all possess, but may want for more of. Being brave is an example. Definitely recommend with a nice cup of tea on a leisurely afternoon.

A truly enjoyable story with some mystery interwoven in the background. If you wish something to read that will entertain you, hold your interest, and inspire you at the same time this is the book for you. It left me in quiet introspection each time I place it down. I wanted to read it in one marathon session but of course, life interrupts. Perhaps it was better read this way, as it is something to be savored – not gobbled down – just because of the insights it creates in you with each time her ‘life’ changes, and what she discovers within her as a result. Not at all what I expected – a special story line – and, as someone else mentioned, a amazing story to read at the beach or have fun snuggled up in bed during personal time. Hoping for more from this author!!!

It was fascinating to follow Grace's progression from an uncertain and somewhat discontented young adult to confidence and fulfilment as she discovered what was truly necessary to her. Each chapter kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen nexxt. Amazing read!

The Journey Through Cancer: Healing and Transforming the Whole Person []  2020-7-21 20:22

Simply one of the all time best books that I have ever read. Dr. Geffen covers every aspect of cancer, explaining it from its inception to coping with and handling possible death, as unfortunate as that thought is. As a current cancer patient, I search his book to be very enlightening, informative and so powerful. This is a must read for every cancer patient and close family member who has someone dealing with cancer. His compassion and dedication to the topic of cancer shines through very clearly and unmistakably. Dr. Geffen is a real bonus to humankind and the treatment of cancer.

The most necessary book any cancer patient, family member, doctor, (ESPECIALLY), nurse can read. A description of how medical care for cancer patients can and should be. Jeremy Geffen, MD was a very special and unique oncologist who, unfortunately, sucbed to cancer himself just a year ago. If ever there was a model for cancer care, he is it. If there is any method to continue his legacy, it should be pursued to the ultimate.

We consulted with half a dozen wildly divergent practitioners from mainstream oncology experts, to oriental medicine clinics, to Native American shamans. All of them were helpful in sorting out the a lot of layers of the puzzle we faced. That said, there was one person who really had the keys to the kingdom, Jeremy Geffen, remy has developed an extraordinarily helpful map for managing the challenging decision curve you are about to traverse. Of all the tools we found, this was the best at ordering everything else into something we could feel amazing about, that felt right for us. It gave us confidence in our ability to create amazing choices. This was huge.I would also highly recommend his audio or DVD series, The Seven Levels of Healing. This provides a clear map for making amazing decisions on all levels. It is also full of attractive stories that support normalize the surreal nature of this experience. [...]Dr Geffen also offers classes. The flyer for these will give you a feel for the content of the seven levels: [...]

Dr. Geffen's book has been and remains a key guidestone for me through my 8 month journey of treatment and healing from Scene II bladder cancer. His wisdom, insight, practical guidance and compassion are invaluable bonuses from an exceptionally broad-minded, deep-hearted oncologist who has had the courage to do his own work. The Journey Through Cancer is an integrated, transforming approach to reclaiming our essential wholeness. The Seven Levels of Healing can be readily embraced not only by people with cancer, but by anyone experiencing a life altering illness who is tenacious about life and committed to their own special and precious healing process.

I think most likely I will be forever grateful I purchased this book. As soon as I was diagnosed I went to amazon to search something to support me. I am just about to go into microsoft word and work on my mission statement. I contacted the hope cancer network and have talked with a woman there who was also very helpful and I will probably search a cancer help group in the not too distant future.Dr Geffen helps people by addressing the physical, emotional, and especially the spiritual aspects of the was the right book for me.

The Basics of Cancer Immunotherapy []  2020-1-28 23:51

I read this book after I already finished the recently-published Butterfield et al. book on immunotherapy. I realize now I did it backwards---I should have read this book first before tackling the Butterfield tome. This book is much less detailed than the Butterfield book, but provides a very helpful foundational overview and fills in a lot of of the primary gaps in my knowledge that I didn't even realize were there after reading Butterfield. For someone well-versed in this subject, this book is going to be much too basic. For someone just learning about immunotherapy, however, I think this book strikes a amazing balance---it provides enough detail so that it doesn't insult your intelligence but not so much detail as to be overwhelming.

If you have no knowledge of cell biology and immunology you may search the reading dense. If so, first read the perfect text, How the Immune System Works by Lauren M. Sompayrac. If you do have a powerful background in science, you may search The Basics of Cancer Immunotherapylacking in detail and leaving you with a lot of questions that you can easily pursue using the extensive references. Overall this slim volume is well written and very much worth reading. I do hope the authors hold it up to date with future editions. It is a rapidly changing field with amazing promise.
