This application is a amazing support in tuning my violin. It's been untuned for 10 years now and with this app, I'm satisfied that it's now completely tuned. Though I should say that using this application would be confusing for beginners since only the notes are indicated. I suggest that this application should tell/automatically denote whether the note should be tighter (to achieve high notes) or looser (for low notes). I think that would be useful for those complete beginners who don't have a clue with note reading.

everything is ok but when i wish to tune diffrent notes on my instrument wich is diffrent from violin named "kamanche" an iranian instrument. we tune it : re sol do fa .. insted of: me la re sol.. to have softer sound and to protect the strings .. it was so better if we could change the settings of refrence point . and change the base notes on the instrument but...... i must say :::: thank you at all for doing this app...

Also while tuning my violin, i decided to press: "play each note" and realized the first 4 notes were the first notes to: "Mary had a small lamb." Does exactly what it's supposed to do! It plays the four begin string sounds on touch. Plus it graphically shows how excellent the note you played is while tuning your violin. The ads do not bother much either. The best violin tuner on the playstore.

I don't play violin - I was looking for someone else. Violins are most often tuned in excellent fifths, but this defaults to "Equal tempered", which makes more sense if you are playing with a piano than an orchestra. If you set the temperament to Excellent Fifth and the A4 to 440, I think E5 should be 440*3÷2=660. It isn't. You obtain the right frequencies by selecting "Pythagorean A". Perhaps that should be the default. BTW I'm told the most common current U.S. orchestral standard is A 441, not the old-fashioned default A 440. But - I'm not an expert, so maybe this isn't quite right. In addition to better defaults, it needs better instructions that explain these sorts of things, and give step by step instructions. (Maybe the lack of such instructions is why some people broke their strings??) You shouldn't have to push a button to begin tuning - it should be in tuning mode any time you aren't pushing a string to hear the pitch. (If you turn on Airplane Mode, the phone won't ring while playing with others, and you see fewer ads.)

It's clever and I like all the options. But I'd rather just a pure digital tone on a synth rather than a digitally sampled violin with a load of vibrato. (Though how you obtain vibrato on an begin string is rather beyond me.😏) Also the bottom G is the only string which sounds beautiful much spot on. Although that could just be me. I do seem very finicky when it comes to tuning. (And equal temperament beautiful much ruined anyone's chances of actually being in tune!) Anyhow, fine for what it is.

I really recommend it as it's accurate,and simple to use. Tip: to prevent breaking your strings: If your string is REally out of tune and lower than the note,then BEFORE using the pegs,loosen the string using the finetuners untill the little piece is all the method up then proceed to tighten with the pegs SLOWLY,As soon as you're close to the note by say 30 Hz then stop using the pegs ,and use the fine tuners only. Important: you don't need to reach the exact note, really ,up to 20 Hz less is OK ^_^

Works fine for most things, but the needed a seems to be missing, it seems to go straight from B3 to C4. A 4 is completely missing.

It doesn't even help, Nothing works. We definitely needa tutorial and instructions like which string should be which. I forgot after a holiday of not playing. even knowing which strings, I play a note and nothing happens! I do not have headphones in or anything...
