Very disappointed. Book is all over the put with powerful focus on the US. They lost me at then end when they said it was not clear global warming is caused my man.
Amazing book. Lots of information. Would have been nice if along with the description of the clouds they would have included pictures of them.
I was hoping to gain some knowledge to support me interpret the data from my weather station. Unfortunately I am still looking for that information. This book was written more like an assignment for a 100 level class than an actual text. Don't waste your time or money.
I now have a better understanding of atmosphere layers, weather prediction, lightening, etc. Thankyou Kathleen Sears! I will use it as a reference for sure.

The title is accurate, in the demeaning sense that the 101 suffix implies. It is like a Reader’s Digest collection of trivia and superficial explorations of topics of famous interest. If you are looking for depth of understanding, or even practical lore of weather prediction, look elsewhere. The target audience would seem to be precocious young readers or adults who like a topic to be presented as a series of lists and factoids.
I bought this book after looking at it in my local library. Weather is a complicated science, and this book conveyed all the info I wanted to know in easy writing that was both simple to understand, and quite interesting!

Before I purchased this book, I was searching for something more inline with aviation weather. I had problem finding the exact fit or mark with aviation in it. So I decided to give this one a shot.I've really enjoyed it so far. It's a deep and thorough audible, covering some history of weather studies, possible future advances, and definitions. The book has also similar stories of some aviation so far. I still have to [email protected]#$%!, but a amazing listen.

Complete garbage. Some factoids that appear real (but might not be). Small consideration of the globe as a whole with distinct focus on the USA. Concludes that human created climate change appears true, but some disagree and besides it might be beneficial, ah it's confusing but we are trying to be safe rather than sorry so ... meh.Few concepts obtain a coherent explanation, any explanation is so superficial that subsequent readings will probably impart various interpretations depending on external factors.I genuinely regret reading this given that although it did not seem deep the further you obtain the more you realise the author is actively muddying the waters on a few points by avoiding discussing anything but just making statements without clear context or motives until finally the human created climate change denial drives home that those omissions are likely , who is this for? Kids who wish a book on weather that has explanations that can be bent to any purpose, and despite mentioning longer term trends ignores them. Seriously, even if this were aimed at children, I feel that the content is not merely simplistic and limited, but actively bad. A lot is mentioned, but some things could be dropped in favour of a better explanation on what matters. It might create the title a small longer and maybe more complex, but given there is an index, the title seems to have aimed for something that could act as a reference.

Same problem as other users experienced. Says login is successful but just keeps asking for login. Unusable.
